It is clearly a popular space and is doing well. The milk of my maple chai was very thick and the drink in my opinion had no maple or sweetness. However, they do provide a few sugar options to put in yourself. Overall it was a regular chai tea latte. On the otherhand, that cookie is really good, it tastes hand-made with love and the decorations on it are adorable. The size of it is decent for the price. I would come again. Probably at a less busier time, it was crowded and squishy, with that community feel. Thank you for the quick service! (Please change the water in your plants, they want help)

Britannia Coffeehouse is the neighbourhood coffee shop of my dreams. Full disclosure my husband and I stumbled upon it while cycling years ago and vowed to buy a house close to it so we could get coffees and walk through Britannia Park with them. Well, we’ve now lived in the neighbourhood for 4 years, and we are “regulars.” My son loves the cookies, we love the nitro cold-brew coffee. I have so much of their cute merchandise that I’ve been asked if I work there! I do not, but everyone who does is so incredibly kind, warm and welcoming. It’s a real neighbourhood staple and I’m so glad it’s ours.

I love the setting here sooo much. It's such a fun look and the atmosphere is great. The staff was friendly and so were the other patrons. They played some great music. That being said, I had the affogato, and honestly wasn't super impressed. I found the coffee to be too sour for an affogato and the texture of the ice cream wasn't fantastic. But it wasn't really bad, I just prefer what I've had at some other places in Ottawa. That being said, I absolutely think this place is worth checking out and trying other things from and I'll be doing so myself whenever I'm in the area.

  • Leo Kot

Great little coffee shop around the really popular trails with lots of seating outside. I had the nitro cold brew which was quite decent, but on the pricier side. My partner had the iced chai latte. This one was a bit disappointing as it wasn't really cold or particularly flavourful.

By remaining open to the public while our government is encouraging people to stay home in order to protect the vulnerable population you are essentially being negligent and putting lives at risk by attracting customers that are inconsiderate. If you remain open you will lose a lot of future customers. It is not worth the risk and I pray that you do the responsible thing immediately and shut down. Please do the responsible thing now. Ice cream is not essential. Your income at this time is not worth someones life. Have some consideration.

Best service and best scones and ginger molasses cookies! Would highly recommend. One thing to know however, is that you don't get free wifi here. You are welcome to do work (I do it all the time) but you need to hotspot yourself.

This was my first visit. I had latte and cheese and spinach scone. The latte was outstanding! The best I had in a while. The scones were freshly baked and still warm. They were amazing. I will definitely come back although it’s a 20 minute drive from where I live. The people serving us were very friendly and provided us with excellent customer service.

One of my favourite coffee shops anywhere! It is very authentic and has a cozy vibe. The staff are always friendly, the treats and coffee are incredible, and its location is perfect. The outdoor seating is a great place to enjoy your drink and snack, and there's also Britannia Beach about a one minute walk along the path. I stop here often when out for a bike ride (not to mention its also directly off the Ottawa River Pathway) and it's always something to look forward to. Highly suggest the lattes!

  • Janice Kelsey

Beautiful little place with a very cozy atmosphere, great hot drink and baked items. Cookies and cakes look amazing. Great service. Right along walking trails in the area. Super place to stop if you're out walking or skiing in the cold weather and need to warm up with a hot drink.

Stumbled onto this little gem while waiting for my dog to get groomed. Great coffee and I ended up ordering bubble waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Delicious :). They have an ice cream parlour connected which I’ll be testing out when the weather gets nicer/warmer. The decor inside is mostly local art and gives a really warm vibe inside (you can also buy some of it if you want to take a piece home with you) :). Will be back !

  • Heather Boyd Wire

I love this coffee shop attached to Beachconers microcreamery. My favourite thing to do is get a scoop of homemade ice cream and enjoy it with a specialty coffee. The nitro cold brew is incredible. So smooth, ice cold without ice and delicious. The decor is eclectic with gorgeous local art on the walls. There are also some artisanal gift items for sale. Just steps away from Britannia Beach and the bike path. Highly recommend.

  • Angela Plant

This is now my favourite cafe in Ottawa! The baked goods are so fresh, delicious, made in house, and often change. The coffee they serve is very good and there is the option of an affogato with the ice cream from their ice cream shop- It's SO GOOD! Also, a great patio. Very cozy and a bit eccentric inside- exactly what I am looking for in a Cafe!;)

Always friendly service here. Great snacks. We did notice their delicious scones shrank considerably for a while, and the price didn't. But noticed today they were back to "big" so maybe other customers remarked on it too lol. The scones are soooo yummy and buttery. Good cookies and coffee. The alcohol beverages are too pricey for us here, but the vibe is great. In summer the ice cream on the other side is too die for!

  • Stuart Germain

The coffee was good here and so were the baked goods. The café is nicely decorated and the outdoor chairs would be great in the summer. The chairs were a little uncomfortable, but all in all this was a great little coffee shop with friendly service, good food, and pretty good coffee .

This is such a fantastic cafe! Everything is made authentically and you can tell by the taste. Their nitro cold brew is excellent, and they use very good quality espresso in their drinks. I wish they offered multiple sizes for drinks, sometimes I want a bigger latte. I can never go there without picking up one (or 2) of their fresh scones. They're always different, but my favorite is the peach cardamom

  • Amanda Morrison

Great people in a relaxed setting. These guys carry Equator coffee served in eclectic porcelain salvaged from estate sales. Great spot to stop off when taking a bike tour alongside the Ottawa River. The adjoining ice cream parlour has a creative flair with a unique choice of flavours. The outdoor dining area, accented by colourful Adirondack chairs, offers urban chic all too rare in this city.

  • Matthew Shackleford-Lye

Britannia Coffeehouse opening has been such a blessing for the neighbourhood; any local coffee shop would be welcome, but they have fantastic coffees and truly outstanding baked goods. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Thanks for keeping many of us in the neighbourhood sane and caffeinated through the pandemic!

I have always enjoyed stopping there and have recommended it to others. I biked all the way there and noticed for the second time that the vegan gluten free baked goods are on the counter uncovered. She said it was busy and they must of forgotten to put the cover on. It’s very close to traffic flow and on the counter. With covid possibilities I refuse to eat any of that. I’m not impressed.

  • Amin Ghazanfari

My recent visit to this coffee shop left me thoroughly impressed with every aspect of the place. The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the exceptional design that exuded a warm and inviting ambiance. The flavors were rich, and the aromatic notes were tantalizing. Each sip was a delightful journey, and it left us craving for more

Great little cafe on the corner. Right by walking trails and the beach. Lots of parking on the side roads. Cute and lots of character insode and out. Chairs and umbrellas with pergola and lights were a great touch. So comfortable, staff was excellent. A gem of a spot. Wish I took a picture. All the pictures posted are relevant. A go to spot anytime in the area. Well done.

  • Rick Kenny

Had an an excellent espresso macchiato here, prepared with care by lead barista Aatik. He took the time to explain about his favorite way of preparing coffee -- pour-over -- and his home setup. Funky decor with a bar covered in copper plates, and cozy atmosphere. There's an ice cream bar adjacent. So you can't go wrong here. Britannia Beach is a short walk west from here.

  • Eric White

Baked goods are awesome. Coffee is great. Their tea drinks are awful though :( Edit: I mean that's probably the problem. I've tried both chai latte and london fog. And they taste like earl gray/chai tea bag attempting to steep in just milk. Which doesn't really end up working, just some slightly flavoured milk with no vanilla/chai. Maybe that's just me though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Adele Ducharme

This place is a hidden gem! It's right along the biking path and near Britannia Beach and the conservation area. The art and atmosphere is the cutest! Menu is delicious and the ice cream just next door (same owners) is amazingly good! It is a great place to study at as they have free WiFi, a variety of different chairs/seats to choose from and is not always crowded!

  • Sam H

I've been here twice, in the summer, and I have to say that the combination of ice cream from next door and a tall glass of their nitro cold brew (hands down the best in Ottawa, no discussion) is absolute jet fuel for cycling on the river pathway. Twice now this place has managed to power me all the way back to south keys on my bike, really great stuff.

  • LC

Britannia Coffee house, we *love* you! One question: when will you shift to real mugs and glasses and get rid of the plastic and recyclables? We see the huge amount of garbage and recycling at the end of each day, with a significant environmental impact. We support your moving away from that.

Nice decor, great spot, and service was quick and friendly. Two complaints: they charge a lot extra for different milks in basic coffees. No wifi if you want to work here (although i sort of understand given their location and foot traffic in the summer). I still recommend it since it’s the only non-franchise coffee chain around.

  • Emma Brown

A cute little coffee shop that serves a killer oat milk latte! Definitely a bit more on the expensive side, but it’s a great spot to treat yourself to a good coffee from a locally owned small business. Not to mention the dairy free ice cream next door is to die for! Will be back often to grab a coffee after a walk in Mud Lake.

I always look forward to a trip to the Britannia Coffeehouse. Everything I've eaten there is fabulous. The cookies in particular are perfect. The coffee is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. I've also purchased several local products there such as candles and sauces that I would not have found otherwise.

I love it here. Best service, best lattes and desserts… did I mention the pumpkin spice ice cream… to die for!! I work right next to the coffeehouse and it is impossible to stop myself from coming over for my usual breakfast sandwich and maple latte. It’s more than just a coffeehouse, it’s my happy place ♥️

It's a rare thing to find a location that not only has an espresso machine that is well adjusted but also knows how to serve a great espresso with proper crema. This place is by far the best place to have an espresso in all of Ottawa. Great quality coffee, great staff.

The only place where I’ll order a fancy coffee, because I know it’s good, real ingredients rather than pre-made syrups. Am missing the unique decor and experience of dining indoors there, but it’s bittersweet because I’m glad they’re staying safe.

  • Susan Ackerman

Great coffee and I love the savory scones though they usually run out in the afternoon. Not many tables usually, so currently only 2. Plenty of outdoor space for the nice weather, though in September we couldn't seem to get away from the wasps.

  • Jessica Doyle

Cute little coffee shop with a whimsical feel to it. They have lots of baked goods (including vegan options) and even vegan lunch options too. Wine and beer purchasing available too. Delicious lattes and a few seats indoors and outdoors too.

  • Neehar Arya

We came across this small but pleasant coffee shop by accident. However, it was a good find due to the quality of the coffee and food. The coffee is good, as is the food. We ordered 2 grilled sandwiches: they were simple but flavourful.

  • Laura Kelland-May

Great place to stop and refuel while cycling. Bike stands and shaded seating makes this place a perfect spot to meet up with friends. Tea was SUPER hot (just the way I like it) and blueberry/peach scone was delish. Highly recommend.
