I came here to sue noisy upstairs neighbors thinking that I would have some sort of solution to my ongoing 3-year nightmare. WRONG. Do not come here if you are dealing with noisy neighbors, ESPECIALLY if they have children. The court will automatically take the noisy family's side. I even had video recordings of the daily harassment that my family still goes through today. The court attorney REFUSED to listen to them. He told me that it was solely up to my landlord to proceed with eviction and that even if my landlord tried to evict the problematic family that it wouldn't work because in New York City families with children never get evicted. Basically saying that if you have kids you can get away with anything. What a disgrace. There needs to be stricter laws on noise in the city because I know for a fact that there are many other hard working families who deal with this type of nonsense everyday. Wonderful to know that this tax payer funded housing court does nothing to protect and serve the actual tax payers but favors the unemployed low lives who live off welfare checks and are continuing to fill the city. Bravo Bronx Housing Court, you all are doing a tremendous job!

Very disrespectful receptionist. I called to get information as per advice from a 311 call. I explained the situation and was accused of calling a week prior. (I NEVER called until today) I had no clie you were unable to call about information at this time. Instead of explaining that like a normal person she insisted i refer to information she gave last week. Again. I never called this office. I dont know what happened to her last week but that had absolutely nothing to do with me. I was just calling based on a call I made to 311 prior and the receptionist at the court house was entitled, rude, indignant and extremely disrespectful and im sad people like that are allowed to serve the public. I was completely shocked and felt helpless in a sense trying to prove I am not whoever she is accusing me to be. I am still shocked it happened now. There is no issue in professionally informing someone you have to call back when those offices are open. But to be combative and claim I called before and all this stuff is extremely unprofessional. If this is how comfortable the receptionist feels in treating the public I can imagine what goes on. Scary.

If I could put half of a star it would make me feel so much better. You might think that a court house has the most professional employees but your assumption is definitely wrong. I had the worst experience in my 50 years on this earth in Room 230. RUDE is an understatement. There was an African American lady at the desk on December 15, 2023, that is one of the worst beings I’ve ever encountered. Then she the lady with dreads at the desk next to her who I witnessed communicating with said being using 4-letter words while discussing other people in the room. Why are visitors required to act courteous professional but the employees act like animals is beyond me. I don’t have problem with waiting but I do have a problem with blatant rudeness and being unprofessional. Being in the court house for hours I encountered 4 people complaining about the same being in room 230. Why is an individual like this interacting with human beings is beyond me.

Its an all day porcess, so come prepared and bring some money orders lol... But the real reason why I wanted to leave a review was to say that, today I had gotten really hurt while I was going up the escalator, the treatment I received was prompt and well beyond awesome and very kind, all tho I dont remember all the staff's or officer's names that helped me but one Ms.Paige I want to Thank You, Its good to know that all tho It can be a scary experience going into court, there's staff and officers to help keep things going smoothly... Thanks again Laura M. P.S. And to the Lady trying to be helpful, Thank You too

There's such a thing called professionalism. The bronx housing court sincerely lacks that. From the rudeness of the person that answers the phone when asked simple questions as your schedule of operation to the staff that rudely dismissive when you are in the middle of asking a question or trying to get answers to any concerns you might have. They act as if they would never encounter such a situation as the families that enter the court house. This could happen to them at anytime or even a family member of their.

Been living in the Bronx for 36 years in my same apt. And been struggling as a low income person to pay bills, been there few timea and is been ALWAYSSSS THE BEST COURT EVER...lots of help and very awesome treatment to us people. I want to thank Ms.Lyons in room 213 for always been there for me. She's the BEST social worker ever. And to all the court officers there always trying to help us. Thank you. Mayra A. Perez.

Called housing court to ask if they’re was a court date and lady who responded was so rude. Gave an attitude for no reason. Who ever is picking up the phone should be re-evaluated when calling from management office. The call did not even last a full minute, I never give reviews, but I’m so disgusted with an employer who should feel pride for working in the legal system. Especially at a court house.

Yvette Parker was the absolute most pleasant person I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with from any NYC agency. I could hear the smile in her voice as she spoke to me (yes that’s a real thing) and she was patient, kind and verified all my information as accurate before giving me my next steps and ending the call. Kindness goes a long way, especially when people are stressed and anxious.

  • Deandrea Lee

This place have everything you need to help you, have questions they can answer whatever questions you have need information just ask, speak another language they have interpreters, also there’s a cashier and don’t let me forget the amazing officers, need something held they would put it in a locker versus them saying you can’t bring something in like other places. Great customer service .

  • Ace Tatu

The worst place to end up. Most of the staff are extremely rude, especially the WENCH court officer in Rm 460. She's power drunk 24/7 and is all around miserable. Yells at people for no reason. The court attorney is pleasant and normally helpful, but don't be afraid to ask questions and demand answers. However. Bring 3 copies BEFOREHAND!!! THERE'S LITERALLY ONE XEROX and IT NEVER WORKS!!!

  • Debby Quashen

Housing court is a joke unfortunately the joke is on the tenant. The landlord or his lackey doesn't have even show up. The tenant has to go through hours of filling out forms, then waiting for the judge to sign off on the complaint. Then you have to spend postage which outrageous just make that the forms are delivered to the slumlord. It's an outmoded, antiquated process.

  • Aztec Montezumas

I called to ask about card of non payment which my landlord likes giving which I always win woman clerk was so rude I tryed asking a question she blew me off and told me to come in I tryed explaining that I would be back Sunday because I was not in the my home she didn't want to here it so now I have to go Monday morning I'm sick and tired of this landlord nonsense

  • Joel Ickes

Compared to the courts in Manhattan, this is its own animal and falls short of anything professional or justice-oriented. Absolutely disgusting how people of color are mistreated and targeted by landlords, and corrupt judges are getting a kickback from the landlords for favorable outcomes. Absolutely disgraceful. Reminds me of New Jersey.

  • Marcella Vera

I feel so bad for anyone who is going through any issues with your landlord unfortunately the person whom i just spoke to at 1:00pm today is so unprofessional, and very rude and honeslty dont even know how she has a job. I hope this comment can change her attitude and her well being as a human to have the slightlest bit of human decency

  • Luzmaria Rivera

Well for the most part judges are willing to help you give you time to getting a 1 shot deal from public assistant and once that's in record at the courts your worries are less. But for the most everyone that i have dealt with all are very helpful and respectful. Judges don't want families in shelters.

  • Hollis Hanes

The energy as soon as you walk in the door is negative. They look down on you not realizing you are the owner not a tenant. They try to be condescending not realizing they are making themselves look bad. It sad how we treat each other. Just because a person is a tenant doesn’t make them a bad person.

  • Vanessa Perez

Worst court ever. All the judges that are guy on room 590 are very rude and nasty. The only one that was ever helpful was the judge lady of color. Why bother telling people to come back to court if they need more time to pay when in reality they won't give you more time to pay. Worst of the worst.

  • Jenny Rivera-Mojica

2nd floor needs more staff and organization. Music in the Court. Phones going off. People talking loud. Clerks talking amongst themselves clearly not working and gossiping. No order. No urgency to get working people back to work especially since this is vital for people to pay arrears.

  • Lanre Oshisami

I can't say that this court is slow, too many tenants in a building. So if employees are rude, this is the human nature. We have nice and rude people. As for me it's ok. Too many tenants, few judges and attorneys for each rooms to handle lots of people, so respondents get use to it.

  • isis thomas

There is no such thing as customer service..They are very rude and condescending at best..These people act as if you're interrupting them on their personal time at home..It is ridiculous that people are paid a good salary to do such a lousy job...wish I could rate this zero star!

  • tonia mcintosh

I've gone there and getting the date is rather slow, due to having so many people to deal with. I've never encountered bad attitudes. Everyone I have had to deal with was rather courteous. And I hope the review stays this way. I'll let you know since I have to return this week

  • Precious Love

The Attitudes of the staff is the worst. It look like a bad law and order movie. The judges have attitudes. The Staff is over worked. The place is over crowded and they work so slowly. Try not to ever have to go their it is such a waste of time .

  • Thierno Diallo

When you call into the customer service line to get an update on a case - there is a man and lady who are SOOOOO rude and disrespectful. You call in and they act as if you are bothering them and they DON'T WORK there. It is insane.

  • jose pacheco

Am trying to sue my landlord we have a leak in our bedroom i been complaining about for a year . the leak got so bad the it ruined some things in my bedroom . they won't pay anything .. What do I do .... Help

  • Thalite Johnson

Most of the people who work there are helpful. But some of the lawyers are bias because they have worked at one time for the landlords and aren't willing to give advice that may be harmful to them

  • Adrienne Stewart

I had a very good experience there... the lawyer was awesome and the judge room 590 was super awesome. If i could give u guys 10 stars i would.. …

  • Francisco Rodriguez

They are quick just hope court date isn't right after a holiday; there are really long lines to get into the building because of security.

  • Phillip Dunn

  • Maria Batista

It's okay with very indifferent people. I found an informative court personnel who was very personable.
