We’ve been trying to close my late aunt’s estate with this CIBC branch for a little over 3 years now and it’s still not resolved. They sent out checks to the beneficiaries but somehow, despite multiple government IDs and countless forms, still spelled our names wrong. Mind you we only received the checks 3 weeks ago. They still have not reissued to this day even after us reporting the issue immediately via email. The financial advisors and customer service at this branch along with the back office and estate department are absolutely horrendous. We email and receive (if they do decide to respond) canned responses about patience. I think 3+ years is enough to run anyone’s patience dry, no? We try to call but either we get hung up on or directed to voicemail. We tried escalating to managers but that was useless. Horrible service. Bank elsewhere, unless you have as much patience as the Pope.
Duolikun Mureli (his supervisor is Sintlw Sivathasan) stood near the gate, had a bad attitude toward me over the phone on Oct 12, 2023; it seemed the client owed him money. He was also very unprofessional and arrogantly provided an incorrect phone number. He insisted on asking me to call the number he gave and refused to provide further help if I did not. He has poor knowledge of the bank system + poor communication skills with the client. Those qualifications should be listed in your job description for this position. I did not know how he got this job as a CIBC Financial Services Representative from his supervisor.
The managers are well trained and often are of help. If you're lucky to meet a good adviser or account officer, you will be attached to the bank for life. But if you meet a standofish one that never respond to emails nor ever help with a challenge, you will easily give the lowest rating. I have had both, but on a general note, this is a bank I have been using since 2008
The associate "Ahmad" is a really helpful guy. Unlike others, he actually listened to my entire issue and helped me resolve all my bank related issues, and stayed calm during my entire visit. Please hire more people like him, the other associate simply said - we cannot help you, but Ahmad actually did help.
This is Sinranjot kaur. I am new here in canada and i had great experience with staff of cibc(near square one). Everyone here treated me very well. Special thanks to Verzina who was so patient with me and gave me every bit of information regarding banking. It really was an amazing experience.
The Branch has transformed a lot and the services provided are at its best. I have had very good experiences and all my banking needs are met by my financial advisors Maqsoodur and Jay. Even when I’m not in the city I send them an email and everything is taken care of.
I wish the older CSR lady didn't have to pick both sides of her nose with her left, and then right index finger, while greeting us, then handling our cards... Not to mention her attitude. Such a contrast to the rest of the team.
The manager is so rude, I needed urgent money and they put my funds on hold, that they can release nd that's my regular cheque that I take there. So Rude, will go with Scotia, TD or any other bank.
I went to the branch to resolve a few issues in my account, and Ahmad attended me really well and explained to me the entire issues and helped me in rosolving those.
Nice and helpful staff. I didn’t have to wait for long. Maybe I just got lucky but it was a nice in person banking experience.
