I never write reviews but felt the need to write this after a truly dreadful experience. After my doctor faxed in a prescription for bronchitis, I called in to make sure they received it and they said they hadn’t. I called back to my doctor who said they would call in the prescription instead. Once again, second call in to CVS and they said they still hadn’t received it. Another call to the doctor- who said they had spoken to someone named “Ali” on the phone and had confirmed the order. I called in to CVS a third time, and they STILL said they hadn’t received it yet! I told them my doctor said they had spoken to someone named Ali, after which there was an uncomfortable silence and the pharmacist asked “..oh, what did you say your name was again?” Turns out they had it all along and had failed to even bother looking the first three times I had provided my information! I went in to pick up the prescription and they then told me they had ran out of one of the pills and asked me to tell my doctor to call them. I called my doctor at which point they were (understandably) frustrated and noted that the rep should have told them when they called in the order that they had run out. Finally, they told me I did not have a copay and tried to make me pay in full, but I was certain I did. I asked them to double check, and they very begrudgingly did... and there it was - I did have a copay! While my medication was for bronchitis, I only hope nobody uses this pharmacy for life or death medication as I shudder to think what this pharmacy could do to that persons wellbeing. EDIT: 1 year later, I received a call from this pharmacy letting me know I have a refill. As I haven't been back since, it turns out my bronchitis medicine had a refill, but they must have accidentally put the wrong date (1 year later) into their system for a call back. Once again, I dread to think what would have happened if this was medication for a life or death illness. Stay away.

Maybe the worst pharmacy I’ve experienced. They never answer the phone. You’ll spend hours on hold for nothing, and you can’t check to see if your scripts are ready, ask for delivery, etc. I saw the bad reviews online, but my scripts had already been sent, so I hoped for the best. At the pharmacy, the employee had zero interest in doing a good job. First she said they hadn’t received anything from my doctor. When I asked her to look at the computer again, she found one script, but it “wasn’t ready.” When I insisted that if the pharmacy had received one of my scripts, they must have received all 3, she managed to discover a second script. When I kept insisting, she and the pharmacist found the third script on the computer, after telling me that they shouldn’t be expected to know about my prescriptions, since “they were sent in yesterday and neither of us was here yesterday.” They refused to fill the last script. I decided to never do business with them again. This morning I received a call from the pharmacy, telling me that they don’t accept my insurance, though they accepted it when I was there 4 days ago. The pharmacist was calling to tell me that that if I wanted one of my other scripts filled, without insurance it would cost me $571. I told him that was odd, since I had just filled that same script at a different pharmacy, without insurance, for only $60. It was a generic script that would never have cost almost $600 anywhere. If your scripts are important refills, if you need to take your medication every day, if good service if you need delivery service, and if good service is important to you, never go to this pharmacy.

If only it were possible to rate the pharmacy with negative number stars. I have tried, and tried, and tried once again to be patient w/ this pharmacy, but they are consistently the worst pharmacy I’ve ever dealt with. Unfortunately, they’re pretty much the only game in town unless you want to take a much longer hike to go elsewhere. I check the status of orders on line and often there’s a hold. Sometimes I have no idea why and since they do not answer the phone, I have to walk over there every time to find out what the problem is. Sometimes they just fill it, after all, sometimes they tell me I have to contact my dr or the insurance company - and the problem almost always lies w/ the pharmacy. Last week I went to pick up a script and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. I gave them a half hour. They then reported that they did not have the med in stock after all and to check back at the end of the week. I guess it was my incredulous look that got her to check w/ the pharmacist. Oops! They have it after all. Just wait another 20 mins. I have problems getting my scripts filled - Every. Single. Time. Avoid this pharmacy! At this point I’d rather walk 1/2 out of the way than go back to this awful pharmacy.

Haven’t had any major issues here beyond my medications taking a long time to be filled sometimes, and they haven’t had my vitamin d3 a few times. I understand this is a very popular and convenient location because of the location to the atlantic subway station. I send my prescriptions here because cvs’ website allows me to track my prescriptions and request for refills online, and it is the most convenient location for me. I live in the part of crown heights with no big name pharmacies, except for Walgreens which no longer takes fidelis, and I haven’t had good experiences with the closest neighborhood one. I pass by Atlantic often enough to transfer trains, and theyre open longer than neighborhood pharmacies, although the lines can get quite long at peak times. I like that cvs also allows for you to request meds to be refilled ahead of time so that they’re filled immediately when insurance will pay. This way, I can get the most medication from my insurance without having to call in, and I can access my account online to know when my next refill date is.

Every SINGLE time I go, I am met with people who are angry and upset to have to help you. The women at the counter have attitude and if you ask them a question about your prescription they don't really listen to what the question is and they respond in an irresponsible way, with attitude. They think asking them questions about your prescription is giving them attitude. They are often complaining about their jobs to one another and dancing and bopping around while you talk to them. I HATE coming here but it is the closest one to my apartment that is open after work hours. I wish CVS would have some standards for their employees, especially the ones that work in healthcare and should have more sensitivity to their customers who are often not feeling well when they come to them. Their pharmacists are busy, and have a bit less attitude, but all in all they seem like a bunch of people who hate their jobs. Unacceptable.

Update: The pharmacy canceled my delivery order and is insisting that I come in to pick it up–which since no one was waiting on customers the last time I went, was fruitless. I'm now trying to transfer it to a different pharmacy, but since they don't pick up their phone, it's proving difficult. I don't know what's going on, but I would hope that CVS corporate would step in to help this location solve it's customer service issues. They were never great-understaffed and long lines–but now I can't get my prescription despite having paid for delivery. Apparently, its still at the pharmacy, but I waited for 20 minutes in a line that never moved–I was customer 8, and the 1st person on line was still waiting when I got there. I couldn't see the check out, but it looks like no customers were leaving after having paid. I've been trying all morning to get through on the phone-no dice. What's up, CVS?

  • David Hyman

Phone wait times of 40 minutes generally. Slow lines and employees are generally scurrying in frustration rather than helpful. They seem understaffed and overworked. Many times (probably 4 times in recent memory) a prescription has not been received because the system was down. When I asked why it happens so frequently, they said “I don’t know but it happens a lot at this target that the electricity has a blip and it turns our system off and we have to reboot it, so anything that comes in during that time is lost.” Downloaded the app to help try to speed up the process of refilling prescriptions but even that has its limits of what you can do without calling or showing up in person. I wonder if more staff to help man the phones and the lines would help or if this is just a losing cause.

Is it possible to give this Target Pharmacy -0- stars because that's what they deserve. This pharmacy is the world's worst pharmacy. If you actually want your prescription filled DO NOT GO to this pharmacy. Ever since I moved to NYC I kept thinking it was possible to get my prescription from Target, just like I had been getting in Pasadena, CA. But it turns out the pharmacy employees and even the pharmacy MANAGER is DRUNK while working. I have no idea how many times I repeated everything, I have given them every opportunity to fix their numerous errors and it's been 2 years now... GOOD BYE Target Pharmacy in Brooklyn! Never again will I be your customer.

  • Miranda Etchison

Showed up at 7:45 to find a line of customers being told they're closed. This was after having popped by earlier in the day to find they didn't have my prescription sent 4 days ago in the system. I feel bad for the lady after me who was trying to get her asthma medicine. 4/1: called at 10:30 AM and they said my prescription was being filled and to be picked up in 15 minutes. When I stop by around 2 PM I waited in line for over 20 minutes and then was told it would be another 45 minutes before it would be filled. I am switching to a different pharmacy today but I thought I’d share this update it’s so frustrating

  • Dave s

One rude woman working there .She looks like wear glasses chubby black shoulder length hair. I just pickup my medicine .she yelling " with drow to the line". she ignore me and take care of my behind person . I asked "are you open now"? WHat's YOUR NAME?SPELL! so mean behavior. also she said come back later. When I back are you ready?asked her because no one call me. she yelled again "THat's why I tolled you". I can't communication with her. Do not stress out to other people. I don't know why rude person working .if they have complain about work must be quit. I don't want to get bad energy!!!

  • Nina Z

Went in for a flu shot. Had made an appointment online for 4:15 on a Monday. Got my flu shot at 5. There were about 10 or so people in the pharmacy area always, but lines were not organized. Definitely made social distancing rather difficult. Actual flu shot was straightforward and took 10 mins to sit there and wait for the single licensed shot administer. Though I had registered online, my insurance card had to be scanned again. But after scan my shot was free and not the usual $39pre coupon/$25 post coupon. I’d recommend going to Walgreens/anywhere else.

  • Helena Pinto

Some of the women that work there have the worst possible attitude. I’ve never encountered such rudeness in a pharmacy. If I can, I will never go back there again. The anger and rage that was directed at me for no reason at all. Even to ask for my name they have a terrible attitude. One specific young woman there, takes the prize for worst customer service ever. She breathes rage from her nostrils. She has real issues. One cannot go to work that mad and angry at the world. She is beyond therapy. Maybe Kevin Samuels could set her straight.

  • Yes Judy

This is the best pharmacy ever… SAID NO ONE! I think they’ve tuned out the phone ringer. To test it, I called called while I was physically on line and guess what, ring a ding ding but no one was listening. 9/10 there is a problem with my prescription (on the side of CVS) that was either not comminuted or erroneously communicated. The kicker is when they tell you “you should call” ☠️ Go there only if you don’t necessarily need the prescription your doctor prescribed for you to take. Or, if you want to see how customer is NOT handled.

  • irn qun

Terrible on the phone experience! Called to find out if I can pick up my medication there, spoke to one woman on the phone she said hold on, and put me back in the line. Someone else picked up and I had to explain my deal from scratch. Then the lady said my new prescription doesn't let me get the 3 month dosage at a time, while I've used this prescription twice already and I know it does. She clearly didn't even bother to pull it up and just wanted me to travel to Manhattan (from brooklyn) where this prescription was refilled before.

  • Sheo Rodriguez

They are Horrible here. I dealt with a sweet lady, but she was not helpful when I made her aware of my daughter having other prescriptions sent there that were not fulfilled. They filled only one prescription and stated that there were no other prescriptions sent there for her, in which they were WRONG! NO HELP AT ALL ! Also they always say they are out of stock and stilll until this day has Never updated my current address etc. I changed this pharmacy as of today and wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here !

  • Patty Pearson

There are some pretty terrible people that work there. ill-tempered, rude and thoroughly uninterested in their jobs. It takes a lot of inner strength to not snap back at them and even though you know they deserve it, you don't want to stoop to their miserable level. I couldn't imagine being sick or elderly and trying to get my prescription from them - the lack of compassion is incomprehensible! There's another CVS pharmacy not too far away from here near Nevins, go there instead.

  • Hannah Shapiro

Update Aug2020: My new pharmacy was having staffing issues due to covid, gave CVS another try; should've re-read my review. Nice of their issues have been addressed. 2019: Terrible at managing regular meds/ monthly refills and keeping on top of authorizations. I'd call and get one answer from one person but a completely different story at the counter when I'd show up in person. After months of second chances, I switched to a small, neighborhood pharmacy and couldn't be happier.

  • Seth

I can only echo the negative experiences of those previously posted— a phone that is never answered (though you’re prompted to call whenever there is an issue with a prescription), unfriendly and unhelpful service, and if hoping to use pharmaceutical coupons or discount cards good luck having them accepted (even when they absolutely should be). I end up paying a little more at other pharmacies- ultimately a better value for the efficient, easier, pleasant experience.

  • Paul G. & Sat. ARTS

Very good service although I wish they had better Rx retrieval system (which Rite-Aid has I think). They allow you to pay for 5 Target items (that is non-CVS items) if you pick up a prescription at their register. But if you are only buying Target over-the-counter items you have to use the regular Target registers. For me, using a pharmacy in Target is very convenient and the Target brand of over the counter items is usually cheaper than CVS or Walgreens.

  • Leander Moore

Worst CVS pharmacy I've ever been to; not only is the pharmacy staff horrible, but so is the pharmacist. They speak to people horribly, never are on time with anything, and for sure do not value their jobs, store, or customers. Tonight was the last time I will ever go to a CVS pharmacy. The Manager of this location needs to be replaced, and so does some of the staff and pharmacists {not all the team is evil. Some are nice and do their jobs well}.

  • Caroline Casati

No one will answer the phone for the past five months. Ever. I have tried calling about my prescriptions every single month for the past 5 or 6 months and have been on hold for four hours at a time. And no one will ever pick up. Every single month this happens. And when you call target they refuse to connect you to the pharmacy. They used to answer the phones prior to 5-6 months ago but never once since then. Most frustrating thing ever.

  • Aaliyah Raghnal

Waited over an hour for my prescription and then they gave me the wrong price and I had to dispute it. After it was changed I asked to speak to the pharmacist. I told her about the wait and the wrong price and she was incredibly rude to me. Please don’t go here literally any other cvs would be better. First time I’m ever complaining about something like this. Save your time and go to a place that won’t have long waits or make mistakes

  • Crypto Church

This pharmacy has the worst customer service ever. The staff there is horrible, at least the ones the service the customers on the front register. You can tell they hate there jobs and have no people skills. I was told because of expressing my disappointment in the service that my prescription will purposely placed on hold. I have asthma. Please chose any place except this horrible place. It’s the African American staff unfortunately.

  • Bo Ye

The worst cvs ever! I had been happy with cvs until this one. They always having a hard time with finding my Rx. I went there few days ago and non of them were ready and I verbally requested to refill both of my Prescriptions. I got the texts to ready to be picked up. I went there and waited a very long line to talk to the pharmacy assistance. Guess what I have to come back because they are not ready! Seriously! Don’t go there ever!

  • Leah Olm

This pharmacy should be closed or some pharmacist who actually care for their patients should be hired and placed here, been calling for a week to get status on my childs medication who is epileptic and no answer at all, its funny how they say call us if anything or before coming into the store but yet they never pick up… they should be sued for negligence and playing with peoples time of wait in medications

  • Margarita Montimore

This is one of those "desperate times calls for desperate measures" types of places. If you absolutely need a random, cheap item, you can try your luck here. Key word being "luck" because the shelves are often bare and the selection/stock is lacking. But I did get a small ottoman/storage unit that has served me well, so it's not all bad. Still, it's nothing like the Targets out in the suburbs.

  • Sean Colter O'Connell

This is a high volume pharmacy, which sometimes means that there can be long lines and a bit of wait and it does put stress on the staff, but they've always been professional and helpful towards me and do hustle. I've been coming here monthly for three years now, have had good and bad days but given that you're talking about a CVS in Atlantic they do a damn good job.

  • Emily P

Worst run pharmacy I've ever used. They will take 2-3 days to fill a prescription for a common medication, and then will never answer the phone no matter how long you (or your doctor's office) stays on hold to resolve an issue with aforementioned prescription you waited days for. No evidence to suggest the manager is not just two toddlers in a lab coat.

  • Capo Blanco (Blanco)

They do not accept CVS card here and the lady that so kindly informed me of that was extremely rude. It was hot out and I went there because I had $5 on a CVS card so I was going to buy something cold to drink only to be told that,”this is Target and we don’t accept that card”! It’s absolutely free to be nice to people, just an fyi.

  • Rebecca Sullivan

I’ve had some rough experiences with other CVS’s near my work that I tried for awhile and I’m always happy to work with these guys close to my house. I’m not sure what the other reviews are saying about them not answering their phones, I feel like this is THE only CVS that does actually answer their phone.

  • Miriam V

IF YOU GO HERE PLEASE CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES ON THE MEDICATIONS BEFORE YOU PAY!!!! I tried calling because they gave my sister cream that expires a few days before February and when she went in person their excuse was "That's all we have and we won't be ordering any more until it expires"

  • Timothy Nordin

I should have taken the advice of the other reviews. I made 3 trips to have the same prescription filled at this pharmacy and multiple excuses from staff on why it couldn’t be found, filled, or why I needed to come back. Save yourself the time and use another pharmacy.

  • Conner Polet

This is a horrendous place to pick up your medication. I feel bad for the employees because they’re clearly understaffed and there’s always a large wait time. CVS should pay pharmacy techs a living wage so we all don’t have to deal with this cluckerf*ck of a pharmacy.

  • Richard Crichlow

It's target. The only thing I get here is brownie mix and vegeta oil (which is vegetable oil for those who don't watch DragonBall Z. Cheapest brownie mix prices in the city as far as I know. The staff is rude as hell though. Ghetto doesn't even begin to describe it.

  • Juan Carlos Castillo

You receive notifications that the prescriptions are ready, but when you go there, they tell you that they dont even have the medication. On top of that, you can’t call to check the status, because they don’t have a phone number working. Go to Walgreens if you can.

  • AH I

Every time I go there I feel like they hate me and I don’t know why... Is it normal to be polite with ppl and in response to get not only poor customer service but negative attitude?! I know you’re busy but “customer service” is a part of the job...

  • Amanda Kerpius

I’m feeling very ill. The pharmacist would not allow me to pay for my OTC medication at the counter. Instead, I’m forced to stand in a line that is most likely 20 minutes long. Poor customer service. I will head to another pharmacy next time.

  • Hang Lin

I recently visited the CVS in Target, and had a mixed experience. On one hand, the pharmacist was excellent. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and provide me with the right medication.

  • Nichole Boseman

This is the worst cvs I've ever used. They have constantly cancelled reviews of perscriptions because they assumed I couldnt pay the $75 dollar copay. When i call to ask why, no one ever answers. I have nothing good to say of this location.

  • Lauren Nolan

This pharmacy refuses to answer their phones making it near impossible to refill prescriptions or get any help unless you physically go into the store. Pro tip: find a different CVS, any CVS, and maybe you’ll get the help you need.

  • erika marshall

The pharmacy never answers their phone. I've been on hold 30 minutes and no one has answered. The people at target guest services were also useless and wouldn't go over to the pharmacy to see if their phones are having an issue.

  • Eli Elias

Bad experience. If you’re lucky, the staff is rude and competent. Usually, it’s rude and incompetent. They just don’t know what they’re doing and they’re unapologetic about it. There is no accountability — no one seems to care.

  • Mariel Shepps

Worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. They do not ever pick up the phone and wait times are incredibly long. I've been trying to get a hold of someone to switch pharmacys and nobody will pick up the phone

  • Cornelius Holmes

The service at CVS was excellent the staff was excellent and they gave me good advice the store was clean and everybody was very polite at the store . Also the staff was polite and also the supervisor.

  • Ebonie Lee

Make sure to go to 139 Flatbush Avenue and not Flatbush Avenue Extension. Also note that the CVS is inside of a Target and that signage for the actual pharmacy is limited outside of the building.

  • Esther Chow

Slackers or what? Called 3 times to check on prescription and moreover ring in to confirm closing hours and noted time I’ll be coming to collect prescription but closed prior closing time.

  • Utkan Dora Öncül

Slow, inconvenient and bad service. I needed to call my doctor three times to get my prescription to their system. Wait lines are long and the staff seems to not care about you at all.

  • Michell Francis

I have been trying to call this Pharmacy since Saturday to find out if my prescription is ready, to no avail. I've been on the phone ove 2 hours for the past 3 days. No response. Sigh

  • Alex Smike

If you're someone who needs to receive new medication every 30 days DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY. Unless you want to go off your meds for a week every single month.

  • Loren Eustaquio

Trying to reach someone about a prescription the last few days. noone is picking up the phone. I was on hold for 30 minutes and it was a total waste of my time.

  • Janine Joffe

Waited on hold for over 4 hours and no one picked up. Called again today at different points and still no one picks up the phone. Great customer service, guys.

  • Break Less

The pharmacy techs at the front are unhelpful. I’ve watched the technicians text in front of me with a line of 20+. Would recommend any other local pharmacy.

  • Courtney Howard

I know the pharmacy can be super busy and it's important to administrator medications correctly under pressure the pharmacist handles everything well.

  • Ren Barker

Every time I come here for my medication, the pharmacy system is down and they can’t give me my prescription. Clearly it’s time to change pharmacies.

  • George White

Disrespectful pharmacy team. Pharmacist doesn’t answer or talk to patients. Waiting more than hour, and eventually gave me wrong medication.

  • Eliza P

Tried to correct a wrong address on a prescription and was told oh well that's what we have. I tried to call cvs support and no assistance.

  • Abby Harrison

Prescriptions are never ready when they’re supposed to be. What’s the point of saying it will be ready at a certain time if it NEVER is??

  • Barbara Lichtman

Overcharged -they failed to bill correctly. Called back and employee said they would talk to pharmacist but never got back on the line

  • Sarah McHenry

Agreed with many of the complaints - store refuses to pick up their phone. Line wraps all the way through the store. Go elsewhere.

  • Mark Musto

The rudest, most aggressive pharmacy I have ever experienced. Nasty, surly pharmacists who don't want to be there. Stay away!

  • Matt

Healthcare providers, and even other CVS pharmacies have had issues communicating with them. Avoid this pharmacy at all cost.

  • A. Van Ess

Works well for me but before you go to pick it up check to make sure they have it on the shelf if you are calling in a Rx

  • Benjamin Antell

incapable of answering phones. incapable of filling prescriptions. perfectly capable at driving customers to insanity.

  • Pamela Darlene Woodward

I loved target pharmacy. I had to use the C.V.S that took the place of target,I found out too late. I won't go back.

  • Jomarie Zeleznik

Physician trying to call a pharmacy about a fax sent by the pharmacy. Nobody has answered the phone for 45 minutes

  • Hawthorne Joseph

Pharmacy staff never picks up the phone; and in person they’re rude and dismissive. I’d give them a solid 0/10

  • F S

They NEVER answer their phone. Staff will literally answer and hang up. Please go elsewhere if you can.
