On Monday the 14th my doctor sent a prescription to Walgreens pharmacy. Unfortunately, they were unable to fill it because they were not contracted with my insurance. They informed me when I picked a new pharmacy that all they needed to do was call with my info and have the prescription transferred. I called CVS gave them my info and the pharmacies number to call. On Wednesday I physically went into CVS and they said they did not have my info even though I had talk to them on Monday. I filled out a form and handed it to them. On Thursday I called CVS to inquire on my prescription status, and again, they requested all my info for the third time. Today, Friday I called CVS again and once again, they not only did not have my prescription ready, but started asking for my information for the fourth time. After four days they had yet to even call Walgreens and request the transfer. I was supposed to start this medication on Monday and be on it for a month straight before I went back to another doctors appointment for them to assess how it was working. So I am already five days behind in taking the meds because CVS is not doing their job. I had to contact my doctors office and request that they send out a new prescription to another pharmacy in the hopes that I get these meds at least by Monday. Then I’ll have to call my doctors office once I start taking the meds and change my appointment so that it coincides with the medication schedule . I just want anyone who is considering CVS to be aware of the fact that they apparently are not concerned enough to do the job they should be doing. I can see no logical explanation as to why a patient should have to have their meds delayed simply because someone is not following up. In my case this is not life-threatening, but in others, it might be. To have to provide information four separate times and making it clear how important it was I get these meds and for them to totally ignore my request is just deplorable in the business day are in. The incompetence displayed by CVS has caused me not only frustration but extreme stress. To me it seems they are just totally dropping the ball on their responsibility to a patient. I highly recommend you do not use the CVS location at 21st and post road in Indianapolis.

DO NOT! Get your prescriptions here if they are important and you depend upon them. They take anywhere from 24-72 hours for every script. That's with you showing up multiple times and being lied to. Getting told it will be ready in 2 hours for over 48hour straight then being told we are about to close. You can come back tomorrow and we will have it ready. You told me that all day yesterday, all day today and you didn't have it even started yet. So don't use this pharmacy unless you want to be lied to and wait in line for an hour to be lied to again it will be ready in 2 hours. Line usually half way across store or more. Don't even think about calling. You'll be on hold hours and I do literally mean hours. Doctors can't get through as this is a all day every day issue. Just got out of surgery or dentist and need meds taken immediately? Try waiting 2-4 days for antibiotics and pain relief. It's sad because people are learning to be rude and cause a scene to get more prompt service since they are so bad here. Your probably better off with any other pharmacy in the city. Do yourself and your family a favor and get your scripts elsewhere.

No one ever answers the phone when I try to contact the pharmacy at all hours including in the early AM hours. I am not even speaking of a few rings either, I'm talking when I call I will stay on hold hoping that someone will take my call and no one does. I give up after 15-20mins of waiting with speaker phone on. Then when you go there not even bringing that particular issue up at all, but their service in general is just very rude and they are very impatient for their needs forcing customers to wait a ridiculous 45mins to 1 hour many times throughout the day just to receive their prescription. Every time I go there it the same way each time, someone or more than a few people have been waiting for a very long time for their meds. I believe the staff is either too slow at their work or there is just not enough people employed. If you are looking for a review this is it, the date is 6/10/2013. If you have had a better experience please post it to inform others, because I have nothing real positive to say about this location. By far the worst service.

  • Corrie Rosas

I didn't need to be informed by the rude tech in the pharmacy that they are over worked and under staffed. No matter who you talk to there no one seems to be accountable for their unprofessionalisim. I will be takin my business elsewhere and I hope you to consider doin the same. There is more than one pharmacy in Indy and if the company can't implement any standards of service why should we continue to pay for it? Also, this isnt the only location with these similar issues. Seems that the leadership in this district is of the same nature. Not concerned and unbothrred by complaints from paying consumers like myself. As many complaints that are listed, you would imagine changes would be made. I guess this company doesn't care. Best thing to do is to take your business to Walgreens, Kroger or even Meijer for accurate, professional and timely services. Let's see if someone from CVS contacts me regarding the complaint I submitted online. I won't hold my breath.

This is the WORSE pharmacy I have EVER visited. How is it possible to receive horrible service at a pharmacy!? A PHARMACY! You could literally celebrate another bday before your prescription is ready & fingers crossed it's the right med. My prescription was called in @ 9am. Told ready at 12:30afternoon. I arrived 12:45afternoon. Asked to wait 15 MORE mins. I left, late for work. But asked if ready by 4:30pm. Was told yes! Came back at 4:45pm was advised medication not in stock. At 5:30pm still there waiting to find another pharmacy. At 6pm I am headed to another pharmacy out of my way 30mins late to night job. This is my 2nd visit to this waste of space on 21st Street. Please take the extra few minutes & go to another pharmacy, you will be glad. I have NEVER wrote a review. This location should be an embarassment to the CVS name. However this was put on my calendar as a reminder to do so.

  • Aley Underwood

Absolutely terrible. Adding 1 star only because you cannot submit with 0 stars. We called as soon as the pharmacy opened to check on a prescription needed and they said that it was to be available by 11AM. We double checked that they would have it by 11AM and they said yes. I get here at 11:25 and they said it will be an hour. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I said my MIL has already missed doses and was told it would be ready BY 11!! Then they said they could have it ready in 30mins, funny that after calling them out that all of a sudden they reduced the wait time by 30mins. They claimed the issue to be short staffed and having to wait on a timed safe. But, if the meds were to be ready by 11AM then they would have already had the safe ready and gotten the medicine. Absolutely ridiculous customer service especially when people actually NEED medicine!!!! If you can avoid this place, absolutely do so.

  • Tasha Hamer

I havent been to a good CVS here in Indianapolis since beofre the COVID pandemic. The customer service has been quite unsatisfactory, especially when it comes to seeking information about my medication. It's fortunate that I'm not an elderly woman facing these challenges, as the interactions have been notably rude. I am uncertain if they are stealing my medication, but my doctor confirmed that they received my prescription in June. However, every time I call, I am assisted by unprofessional phone representatives who repeatedly claim that they don't have the medication. My doctor also called and received the same response. Since this medication requires a doctor's order, we now need to initiate an investigation into the matter. CVS what is really happening. UPDATE: 7/24 After providing feedback last week I will get my medication today!!!

  • Rusty Rose

Almost always a 30+ minute wait inside or drive thru to pick up scripts. Then they send you notifications your scripts ready to pick up and after waiting in line forever they not even ready yet so then you'll have to wait forever again and again. These issues were even before being short staffed and they have only magnified the problem. Then medications my mom has to have they didn't have and she went days without then they told her they can't fill them for another 2 weeks even though it's already been 36 days on a 30 day supply and she ended up in the hospital over this. After she got out they had the nerve to say she had to wait a month because someone scanned it as picked up somehow but yet when they went to grab her other scripts it's right there with the rest so how was it picked up when you still have it?

  • Darrin Scott

If I could give a negative rating I would certainly do so. To start, this store is filthy dirty. I visited this store to purchase an Omron, series 5 blood pressure monitor which showed available at this store on the CVS app. The girls at the pharmacy are rude and perhaps a bit racist. They definitely had no interest in helping me. I was rudely told that they didn't have the monitor. I then combed the store and found two of them under glass and lock on aisle 16. When I informed the same girl that they did have them and asked if she could unlock the case so I could purchase the monitor I was sent to the front cashier. No time for me! The front cashier retrieved the item and I made the purchase. I'll never step foot in this store again.

  • Tess Stader

Never will i ever go there again im getting my stuff moved to a different location.Stayed in the drive thru for 10 mins employees walked past a couple times. I went inside line was back in the isles employees talked to customers about there lifes didnt care about the line. I stayed in the line for 20 mins. Just getting back from the hospital im tired i want to go home. Then i decided i wanted to get a card go to the front to pay for it that line was also long the employee didnt know where anything was didnt know how to ring anyone up so i threw my card down and left. Horrible service a lady had to sit down because she couldnt stand anymore from waiting so long. Terrible.

  • Sharie Monae

I understand that staff has lots of scripts to fill, but I can never get through on the phone. I'm literally on the phone for 1 1/2 before I hang up and call another day. Sometimes I call twice in that day and I still wait for almost 2 hours or before they pick up just to hang up real fast. This is ridiculous and something should be done about it. They need someone who can answer phones. I take a lot of medication and I have questions Sometimes about what may be new. Right now I'm and can't get my medication because they won't answer the phone to tell me if I have any copay. Someone else has to come and pick up my medication. It's been in progress for 2 days.

  • Sara Justus

This pharmacy is awful. I tested positive for covid (vaccinated and boosted though) and was trying to do the right thing by not coming inside to fill my prescriptions. Their drive through is closed and like many of the reviews here state, they don’t answer their phone. I’m enclosing some screenshots of when I was on hold for almost 50 minutes. No one picked up. The other photos are of the trash in the lobby and the note on the drive through stating it’s closed. They don’t give you the option to do the right thing at this pharmacy. When I got here my meds were just “in progress” despite it being a WEEK since they were requested for refill. Avoid this dump at all costs.

  • DaniDonn Hite

Terrible customer service at this particular pharmacy, only 2 ladies here who will actually try to put forth any effort into their job by helping you! When ever you call up to the pharmacy, you’re on hold for atleast 10 minutes before they will even answer! They will let the phone just ring nonstop on the inside, even when they aren’t busy! Plus they make you wait for an hour to get your meds, AFTER already waiting 10-15 minutes on the phone or drive-thru to make sure your meds are being expedited. Overall a terrible pharmacy, terrible service & incompetent employees.

  • Brittni Mays

I’ve been going to this pharmacy for 13 years since I got diagnosed with diabetes. I used to love the 24 hour convenience but now they are the most unreliable pharmacy on the east side. Every time I call about one of their mistakes no one answers the phone for over 15 minutes. So you end up inconvenienced having to come into the pharmacy for something that could have simply been handled over the phone. They say prescriptions are ready and I arrive to them not having them in stock. I am going to find a new pharmacy soon. Cvs has really disappointed me.

  • Joseph Poynter

Do NOT come here!! This CVS is no longer open 24 hours. After a new management switch in the pharmacy, it takes at least least 40 minutes to over a hour to get your medicine that is confirmed “ready for pick up”. I feel sorry for the staff members. Since the company reducing number of pharm. techs, they have to be handle upset, tired and sick people verbal abuse while being overworked. I rarely write reviews but this makes me too sick to my stomach to not inform others what is going on. Please send help or I’m going to boycott CVS altogether!!!!!

  • MsAnn IsMyName

Unacceptable business practices! From making serious medication errors like giving you someone else with the same name’s medicine, shouting PHI through the pharmacy, Technicians advising Pharmacists, behavior as they are doing the patient/customers a favor... I will inconvenience myself before I allow them the opportunity to fill another order! Tip to Corporate... Please pay a decent wage to attract decent and knowledgeable employees. Oh but then again I guess $9.00 is decent for anyone without experience, licensing and fresh out of high school!

  • Mygirls h.

If there was a way to give NEGATIVE stars I WOULD. People please if at all possible look for other pharmacies other than CVS and Walgreens. My daugther was on hold for an HOUR and 40 minutes just to try an get her son's prescription transfered to a closer location to her home. The excuse is they are short staffed. However, this is NOT exceptable on any level. There is NO CUSTOMER care with CVS. P.S. I tried calling their corporate office and guess what!!? I was LEFT on HOLD.

  • Nellie d

the pharmacy is horrible. I got my sons prescription sent to them they said it would be ready in thirty minutes when we came to pick it up they said it wasn't ready until 6 hours later then 6 hours later we come back and was told they didn't have it in stock. my son had an asthma attack and his doctor said he needed the medicine. they must be just sitting around cause they don't have communication skills at all. if I could only give them negative stars I would

  • Natalie Hoover

Been waiting on a prescription since Monday, was called in by my Dr. I came to pick it up on Tuesday, and was told it was out of stock, and would be back in stock on Wednesday. Waited on a text that my scrip was ready, never came. Back here today, and the med is back in stock, but I still have to wait 15 minutes for it to be filled.I'm glad this scrip wasn't a life or death medication, I would have been in trouble. Will not be back to this pharmacy.

  • Barbara Gnagy

Every trip to this pharmacy is frustrating. I wouldn’t keep coming, but this is my elderly father’s pharmacy, and it‘s where he‘s used to coming. I came to pick up meds for him and the Rx had mysteriously been switched to “on hold” status. After consultation with the pharmacist, I was told the meds could be ready in 1 hour. While waiting, almost every other customer is being told their Rx is on hold and it won’t be ready for an hour.

  • Karen Poirier

Drive thru is very slow. But most of the people that work there are friendly and nice. Pharmacy is usually very busy at this location. If u have a script that has refills, I suggest u sign up for auto refills at the get go because ur never gonna get someone on the phone at this store. I've waited over 20 min trying to talk to the pharmacy before. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the frustration.

  • K

Only giving this 1 star, because y'all in corporate need to pay your staff better and stop trying to micromanage every single aspect of pharmacy. Y'all in corporate world have NO IDEA about anything to do with healthcare or pharmacy. Your greed will only cost you in the end. Solidarity to the pharmacy staff who are doing the best they can with the scraps you give them. I hope they move on to better jobs.

  • Ashleigh Braughton

If I could give them a zero I would! Worst pharmacy & customer service ever! Myself & many others had been waiting in line 20-30min before the pharmacy closed & instead of taking care of us & making sure we got our prescriptions, she said she was closing and to come back tomorrow! There was 3 of us & two of them, the pharmacist & tech! I’m switching pharmacies & calling corporate!

  • S MS

I was disappointed to see the store was dirty with trash especially at the checkout counters both by the pharmacy and the main door. Pharmacy technicians were too "busy" to even acknowledge a customer or bother to offer help, even though I was the only one! The pharmacist, Randy, who was in the back came out to help and I appreciated that, he was friendly, fast and efficient.

  • tman W

Scheduled my vaccine here for 6pm. Received at text at 4:30 confirming my apt. I walked in (difficult as I have MS) and was told they ran out over 5 hours ago. I was told I could go to any other store to get it. however, after going to another store they and EVERY other store in indianapolis the pharmacy closed at 6:00. Just a completely bungled job by this store. They suck!

  • James Brown

Horrible service, they never answer the phone in the pharmacy. They constantly take their sweet time getting meds filled, the "acting" manager I spoke to on the phone was rude and condescending and had zero empathy for me or getting my meds ready in a reasonable time. What's worse is that they consistently get bad reviews and cvs corporate does nothing to address the issue.

  • Tasha Colvin

Horrible customer service. To have the pharmacist finish other tasks on the computer for fifteen minutes as you wait to drop off your rx is not good customer service. Not a hi or anything and I was inGrueling pain. Then they told me I had to wait 45 minutes for my rx but would not let me use the restroom and im pregnant! The only 24 hr location around and just horrible.

  • Jason Tate

Is I could give it no stars I would. I have cancer and need my medicine. THEY WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PICK UP THE PHONE. Please try they will not answer at the pharmacy and no you cannot do everything needed on their website. Please make sure if you have medication’s to send them to a different pharmacy anywhere in this country other than this one.

  • June Barnes

Prescriptions for my father called in before 6 on a monday . Called 2 times that evening and was assured they would be ready for pick up in the morning since this is a 24 hour pharmacy. It is 6:30 Tuesday evening and still not ready. My father needs his medicines am and pm. Will never use this pharmacy ever again. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

  • Nicole Highbaugh

The drive thru is hardly ever open. The pharmacy takes days too fill scripts called in by your Dr. Or same day E.R scripts. I went on a Thursday @ 9:15pm and the store was closed with no explanation. The store is never tidy and organized. Always out of stock, with it seems like everything your looking for. The staff follow you around …

  • Kellsie Nelms

Used to get my medicine there, switched to another location. After they stopped being 24 hours the pharmacy has taken a lot longer to fill your prescription. I get txt saying my medication is ready and it hasn’t even been filled yet according to them. So a lot of waiting and wasted time. CVS needs to hire more technicians, it’s insane.

  • Michael W

Lots of good, lots bad. I came to this pharmacy numerous times over a 12 year time period and can say they are mostly steady in their doings. Most of the time the customer service is good. The pharmacists and techs are usually helpful, with the techs usually offering help if you are wandering through the back area.

  • zulieka tillman

Nothing. When I went into the CVS, the store manager was so helpful and courteous to assist me in finding the correct product. After that Deidra took over and completed my transaction due to Manger helping her out while she was previously completed task that was at hand. Very clean and customer service was an A+

  • Frankie Ryle

Pharmacy is terrible. High turn over from staff which means no one knows what is going on. Prescription notification is awful, been told more then once that a prescription was ready and when I get to the counter something always goes wrong and the staff can’t fill it or have some issue. Not a good location.

  • Terrell Carr

I only use this CVS due to location..I must admit has gone from bad to worse... Prescriptions are never filled on time .location does not have meds at times.. Workers at this location act as if this place is a job that they must have as a condition of thier parole... I would run away from this place...ASAP

  • Conner Starkey

Upon entering this establishment I was underwhelmed by the work ethic of the employees then when my medication was not ready they made a very poor joke about my struggles in the late hour of the night while the patron beforee can testify to their poor service I am giving them a 0/10 won't medicate again

  • Zoey Logsdon

Absolutely horrible customer service, called to ask a couple questions before driving all the way out there and their very disrespectful employee just kept hanging up on me and was super rude. It was a female employee and every time I tried asking a question she just kept hanging up on me

  • Brandon Mckinley

This is a very unsafe store. Cuatomer cut in line and was bullying me and the cashier laughed while he was doing it. I complained and cashier told manager i was being racist when race had nothing to do with a customer cutting bullying and your store thinking its funny and ok.

  • wise people

Antibiotics and very important meds should be ready the day they are called in at least available the next day they are waiting for a lawsuit to happen to make the necessary changes. People could die without some of these meds.I am going to pharmaneek at least they deliver

  • Andre Strong

I don’t understand why each employee isn’t trained on how to ring up the Spending cards for SSI, but the lady yesterday was well trained, but she said, they don’t get trained on that! And that’s sad! But I’m glad she was educated enough to understand how to help me out!!

  • Char Halfnur

I needed my medication today...Maps says Pharmacy closes at 8. They were closed at 7. I even called to ask if they could have my med ready a day early because I needed it today. I have to call off work tomorrow now. At least they could have sent an email or something

  • Maurice Westbrook

What's irritating is that if I dropped of my prescription the day before, why isn't it ready. You had plenty of people to fill. Why make someone go through whatever they're going through over ONE item? I wouldn't write this if I weren't in pain.

  • Brian Kemps

I scheduled my an appointment for my COVID booster in the morning. Upon arriving at 7pm I was told they'd been short-staffed all day and weren't doing vaccinations. I understand staffing issues, but please communicate so my time isn't wasted.

It is scary going to this CVS location. It is dirty, both inside the store and outside. The clerks ignore you, the pharmacy tech yells at customers. It was a great pharmacy many years ago, but I will NEVER again go to this (or any other)

  • Miranda Kaminski

I use the pharmacy here for myself and my son's meds. I always go inside and there has always been a line but it goes pretty quickly. I have had good experience with the pharmacy techs being kind and doing their best to keep it moving.

No sense of urgency whatsoever . I waited over 30 minutes for my inhaler though I was told it was ready for pickup hours prior to my arrival . A PRE PACKAGED inhaler ... no line ... 5 pharmacy techs... doesn’t make much sense to me !

  • JustFollow Kenya (Mswhatleysworld)

The store closes at 10pm. They have great customer service. The store is clean and well stocked. The prices are slightly higher than other stores on items that are not on sale. They give you coupons that help lower the prices.

  • Joshua McDonald

They just need to close this store already. While it is the closest to me, it's quite useless when the servers are down or the pharmacy is closed due to staffing. Even when it's open, it takes 4 days to fill a prescription.

  • Tina Coffin

Store cashiers are vet friendly Pharmacy can take more than 30 minutes just to get through the line. It doesn't matter if drive thru or inside. Calling in pharmacy is rushing with orders and most of the time rude
