It was fine. I’m not sure I fully understand the excitement over beignets. These were lukewarm (for supposedly being fresh) and we just okay. In addition to the two types of beignets (regular and chocolate drizzled), we also tried an Andouille sausage omelet, Crawfish Etouffee, hot cafe au lait, and an iced mocha cafe au lait. The highlight was the omelet. Hands down. Sausage was tasty and the eggs were cooked well. The etouffee was middle of the road. Not much spice to it. I ended up having to scoop up extra powdered sugar and chocolate drizzle from the beignets to add to my iced mocha. It was pretty flavorless. My husband had the to use multiple sugar packets for his cafe au lait. I guess that we went for the experience and to say that we had beignets is NOLA. I don’t know that I’d make an extra trip back.

The line at Cafe Du Monde was absurd so I told my husband that we should keep walking. I'm not standing in a Disneyland level line when I can't even eat beignets because I have Celiac disease. We ended up at Cafe Beignet and stood in maybe a 20 minute line. I appreciated that they were taking Covid seriously and had someone at the door checking vaccine cards. I got a cafe au lait as I didn't see anything that was gluten free on the menu. I wanted to get a beignet soap but they didn't have price tags and looked too busy for me to flag down just to ask the price. We were able to snag a table and my husband concluded, after trying the beignets at our hotel (Hyatt Centric) and Cafe Du Monde, that he prefers Cafe Beignet. They're about $1.25 more expensive but they're noticably bigger beignets.

Skip Cafe Du Monde and come here! We wanted to grab a coffee and beignets and after seeing the hoards of people melting in the heat covered in powdered sugar, we decided to walk down the block to Cafe Beignet. It was air-conditioned, not crowded and had an extensive menu beyond beignets. We got Iced Cafe Au Laits and the Chocolate Drizzle Beignets with Strawberries…and it was DELICIOUS! They were fluffy, almost cake like, and the chocolate was just sweet enough and the strawberries added some brightness to them. Plus, everyone who worked there were nice and gave us recommendations on what to do. I definitely want to try the other locations and check out more items on their menu. Definitely an upgrade from Cafe Du Monde!

Heard quite a few people say Cafe Beignet was superior to Cafe Du Monde, but that was definitely not my experience. For the record, I consider myself a bit of a foodie (but with reasonable expectations). The experience here left A LOT to be desired. My $4 cappuccino was watered down and very lukewarm and the last few drops were weirdly salty. Our $12 western omelette came with grits and a 2”x 2” piece of French bread with butter on it. The omelette couldn’t have been more than 2 eggs, the filling was sparse and the whole things was shiny with oil. Lastly, the star of the show - the beignets themselves - were thick, doughy, and stodgy. I don’t understand how anyone could rate this place as better than Cafe Du Monde. Would not dine here again.

We found Cafe Biegnet on Decatur to be okay. A bit more run down that when they first opened. The service was friendly and the beignets were good. These are not exactly like the ones at Cafe du Monde. The beignets are a lot larger and somewhat heavier. I like them as well but other people not as much. The line is definitely shorter and moves faster.

Well I got an order of beignets to go from this restaurant. Not saying every order will be like mine, but mine were over cooked, dried out and two of them were even burnt around the edges. Powered sugar can cover some things, but not the taste of burnt bread. I give a three star rating because of the atmosphere. The restaurant is very open and welcoming, so much that birds do fly through every now and then. They have a live jazz band playing everyday and the decor is interesting to look at and read. I would not go to this restaurant again, but you might have better beignets than me, so your choice.

The Frozen mocha was nice on a hot day. The Beignets were a different style then the other place in town. These are a lot thicker and are more of a cake rather than a fried cracker. I would like to shout out the workers. I had to take my young son to the bathroom right after we started eating leaving our table empty. A fast worker cleaned our table (boo), but we were given another order of beignets and a Frozen mocha which were much appreciated (Yah). Keeping the tables clear for the patrons is good, but it was cleaned too quickly seeing 80% of the food was still on the table.

Stopped in for a trio of beignets and a cafe au lait. Having gone to Cafe Du Monde the night before, these beignets were clearly much better than Du Monde’s. These beignets are much more hearty and frankly, more flavorful, than Du Monde’s beignets. These ones are more filling, too. As for the coffee, it tasted exactly the same as Du Monde’s coffee, which was good! I liked the automatic piano that played while we are our food at this location. It provided some nice music and a distraction from all the other tourists in the place. There are a lot of other breakfast and lunch options at this location. Worth a visit!

BEIGNETS + BIRDS! As I walked, I wanted some Beignets and wallah, Cafe Beignet appear! As we stepped in, two birds flew up into the chandelier, and immediately, we were intrigued about their food. Well, the vibe was chill + dope, so we proceeded to order and bird watch. The food was delicious, flavorful, and proportioned appropriately for two humans traveling NOLA for first time sightseeing and trying new restaurants a few times a day. The staff was helpful and patient. Come for the food, stay for the vibe. Thank YOU!

Absolutely a waste of time and money. We came in hearing good things about this cafe but what we got was far from what we were told. The staff member handling our order was just completely out of it. They never said a word and even forgot to bring out our food and drinks until we approached them. On top of that the food and coffee was bad. Then portions were way too small for what we were paying and the coffee just simply wasn’t good quality and did not taste well. Overall this place needs major changes in staff, quality, portion sizes, and/or pricing. I would not come back until ALL of those changes are made

Oh, this places. The band was just amazing. If you'd like a place to chill with a lovly atmosphere get here right now! That voice was an voice of an angel. Couldn't stop listning. And the band in its all. The way they all synchronised. Together they were great. I wanted to stay a little longer just to here them more. The streets of New Orleans has a lot to offer. If you'd like live music and has the opportunity to visit this place, grab it. Get a coffee and something to eat. And if you'd like to here more of the band. I posted a picture of their name. Ofc, I'm not only going to show you this place without letting you know how to get intouch with their music.

Now I must say I was ultimately surprised about how good the beignets were here. I sware by Cafe Du Monde, but I have found another gem when I can't get my fix. The beignets are a bit heavier (bigger and more fulfilling). I only ate 1 and a half where as I can consume all 3 at my original place. I love the King cake one ( I know this is crazy but I must say it is sweet, so be warned it has icing, color sugar, and cinnamon sugar) during mardi gras time.

Ordered Fresh Handmade Beignets (3 per order) $4.75. Beignets are great and pretty big in sizes; maybe too much for one person if one is interested to try something else too. The staff here much more friendly than those in the Bourbon street location. There is a piano on the cornor shelf; it plays music automatically. The song selection is not too touristy and volume are pleasant to conduct conversaion inside the cafe. Also have bathroom inside. Overall, definitely a good place for visitor to rest their feet, hydrate up (plenty of drink selection) and taste some local flavor.

Loved this place, super cozy. The Sandwich was amazing, the coffee was honestly not my favorite could of been better. The staff was so helpful and friendly, they made us feel welcomed. The food arrives pretty fast, I would recommend to start looking for tables as soon as you wait in line to make your order. The seating area fills up quick, who wouldn't want to sit around history all around you. Such a lovely experience to have with your loved ones. Gives you such a nostalgic feel and beautiful views. I honestly don't have anything bad to say about this restaurant.

Absolutely loved the food, the decor, and the vibes of this super cute little cafe. We ordered wayyy too much food, then took half of it to-go with us. I also got a cute tea towel for my NOLA souvenir from our anniversary trip. Would definitely come back here to try more items. The croissant sandwich was amazing, I loved the almond croissant, and of course the beignets are such a special treat!

The space was gorgeous, but the restaurant operating in it was mediocre and not worth the stop among all of the great places in the French Quarter. This location seems like it's putting in the minimum effort needed to bring in customers on a tourist heavy corner. The coffee is from a quick serve machine like you'd see in a gas station, and the beignets were fine but covered in powdered sugar to the point where they were annoying to eat without covering the already-sticky tables in sugar.

I hate to say it, but the beignets that everyone raves about are overrated. They’re good, but they’re not that good. Still, they are something you should try in New Orleans. The big debate is which is better - Cafe Du Monde or Cafe Beignet? We tried both. We liked the beignet’s at Cafe Du Monde better, but the ambience and decor of Cafe Beignet more. The coffee was equally poor at both. This particular location is very cool inside!

You can be prepared to face a line regardless of if you're doing Cafe Beignet or Cafe du Monde. We waited about 30 minutes in line but our food came quickly! I will say - stick with just the beignets, the food was subpar at the best. We tried the Cajun hashbrowns - the bread they served with it was rock hard, but the Cajun hashbrowns themselves were decent. The breakfast sandwich was "eh" for a sandwich. The eggs were pretty rubbery and overdone. BUT the beignets were delicious - perfectly airy and dense. I would suggest trying the beignets and skipping the rest. Lovely place with such a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Abigail

Really nice! Relatively big with lots of seats but since it's a popular place, finding seats might be hard. Overall though it's a really nice place. Starting at 2 to 10pm there is live music. There is also a bar and nice jazz music playing when there isn't live music. The beignets were 3 for 4.75 and very delicious!! Highly recommend!!! A very nice vibe and atmosphere. This place also has a bathroom!

We ended up going here instead of the 'other' place because the line was too long. The plain beignets were heavier (and larger) than I expected so I only managed to eat one but someone else was able to eat all three of the ones with chocolate. There was one of those pianos that played by itself which was interesting and would probably be very entertaining for kids. While we were there, everyone started cleaning up to the point where we thought that it must be closing time but it wasn't. Not sure what that was about.

Best Beignets so far. The music was fabulous. The staff were disinterested and rude. Renata almost had her food tipped into her lap. Our table number was taken before we got all of our food, I went to retrieve it and it was thrown into a bench and crashed to the floor where i had to retrieve it. If you wonder why you're not getting tips, this is why!

My friend sweared by Cafe Beignet and said it was better than Cafe Du Monde. I had a great experience and the staff was very friendly. I ordered their chocolate beignets and regular. Each order comes with three large and scrumptious beignets and the chocolate drizzle came on the side. Very tasty and dense. Really covers your sweet tooth. Not a bad alternative the Cafe Du Monde.

We came on a busy Saturday morning so we knew the line would be crazy. It was super long but went through it pretty fast. The beignets were HUGE and tasted really good and fresh. The coffee was also pretty tasty. The staff was really friendly as well. The only complaint I have is there's very limited seating so maybe have someone sit at an empty table while someone else orders. It's also a great location close to the tram and aquarium.

The beignets here are the best we had while in New Orleans. We had to wait in line but it wasn't very long, and it was well worth it. The hash brown and eggs we ordered were the only thing that wasn't great, but by no means were they bad. They were just simple and not very seasoned. But if you're looking for good beignets and good coffee, this place was def it!

Nice place, family friendly, automated piano plays “live music”, Beignets are great and cheap (effectively fancy funnel cakes). My only issue with this cafe is the doors are wide open. I’m talking an entire wall is basically opened up. If you wanted air conditioning, it’s the equivalent of a ceiling fan on low. Not the best place to escape the brutal summer heat. Other than that, it’s worth a try!

Enjoyed hanging out in the Cafe. Didn't enjoy how they appeared to be hurriedly made and finished. The beignets were larger then other businesses. Two of four in my order were hollow. They were also partially or fully on top of each other. That is a no-no because of powered sugar and grease issues. Need to do a better job of quality control.

Not that this place needs help with positive reviews, but I'd be wrong not to share my experience. THESE ARE THE BEST BEIGNETS I'VE EVER TASTED. I'm not exaggerating either. The wife agrees. They are warn, fresh, soft, and made with love. I also had some decent gumbo and my wife had a respectable croissant. The beignets alone are worth the wait in line. Try it and tell me if I'm wrong.

Cafe beignet’s beignets blow cafe du monde‘s out of the water. No contest at all. Cafe beignet’s are fresh made, piping hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pretty much perfect. Didn’t get to try their coffee this time around though.

I was not a huge fan of beignets but that is just a personal preference, nothing against the restaurant. The Cajun hash browns were incredible!!! Excellent location.

Yummy! We went to Cafe du monde, lined up for about 15 minutes under hot sun light , and learned that they only take cash. Yikes. So we chose this one, very nice environment, has AC, takes credit card. had beignet and café au lait. Beignets are freshly made, it’s really yummy! I will recommend my friends to this place

Everything was great except the beignets. There’s was really doughy/bready. And the coffee was meh. I prefer Cafe Du Monde. If you’re specifically looking for an outstanding beignet, this is not the place. However the crawfish etoufee (sp) and grits was delicious.

Beignets are a thing in New Orleans, so Ofcourse we had to try several… and the beignets at Cafe Beignet were delicious. It’s not Cafe du Monde (tried those too) and honestly, they are the exact same, actually much larger! Great cafe with live music and enjoyed a glass of Champagne too. No line up, great service.

  • TJ Travels

Beignets are made to order, super fresh & delicious . We would highly recommend this than the overrated Du monde. We came back again & again, the beignets were consistent all the time Chicken salad sandwich was very very good. Coffee with chicory reminded my of my Indian coffee . God we miss this place !!

  • Curtis Bryant

I thought all beignets would be the same, but these were not nearly as good as Cafe du Monde. The beignets were uneven, leading to spots being overcooked. We didn’t finish them

I can't attest to the beignets since I didn't try them, but the coffee and other food items were barely edible and definitely not worth the price point. The eggs taste like ones you get out of a carton and the grits were lacking in flavor. You can get better breakfast from a fast food joint.

Stopped in for some Beignets and they did not disappoint. They were large fluffy and tasted amazing. I think these are better than the well known Cafe Du Monde.

It was a powdery experience ! The beignets were fantastic and a perfect serving size to split amongst two kids and two adults. Very sweet !! We also got the crawfish omelet which had amazing flavor. The egg was light and fluffy.

Beignet done that! This place was very good for a more casual style of eating. There is a piano that plays itself while you eat. The eggs are very fluffy and flavorful. The beignets were very fluffy and had warm doughy centers. Stop in for a cheap, quick and delicious bite!

The service was ok, they were not very friendly or approachable. The Cold Brew coffee was not very good and the beignets could’ve been more “airy”. They were not bad but they were more like funnel cake squares than beignets. I would skip this one.

I'd recommend this place!! We stopped at cafe du monde and noticed the line would take at least an hour (probably longer) and a friend said her mom recommended Cafe Beignet. We stopped in for breakfast and coffee. It did not disappoint! The

My first experience tasting beignets was here (not the 'other place') and I was not disappointed! The beignets were absolutely massive and truly delicious. The Vanilla Au Lait was one of the tastiest coffees I've had on this visit. Not to

Tried beignets for the first time and am sad I don’t live closer to have them more often. Our Lyft driver recommended we go to Cafe Beignet because it was cleaner and less crowded than Cafe Du Mond. The restaurant was definitely clean and

Coffee was good, but it took at least a half hour for one order of beignets. We ended up leaving after 25 minutes to make a check-in for a cruise without ever getting the beignets. Other places specializing in these tasty treats are much

Sadly the worst beignets I’ve had in New Orleans. The dough is rolled far too thick before frying, so they’re dense and undercooked in the middle. The other cafe beignet outlets are much better - this one is worth avoiding. More

We skipped Cafe Du Monde and their overrated beignets for Cafe Beignet after a little research. These beignets were light and fluffy and my only complaint was that they could’ve used more powdered sugar.

The chocolate drizzled beignets were amazing! Just as delicious as that other place. I also had the crawfish omelet. The seafood was plentiful and I would definitely order it again.

We loved this place. For the first time we tried beignet. So yummy. Carrot cake was delicious. Black Coffee wasn’t so good but it is definitely a recommended spot to visit.

We liked their beignets over Cade Du Monde. Tried the jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice and the crawfish étouffée. Pretty basic but the jambalaya was my fav.
