I went there on a Monday at 3 pm and it was incredibly busy! There was a very long line to order and even to pee. So my guess is that it is always like this, don’t expect it to be a peaceful and quiet artsy cafe where you can enjoy one of the art books at your disposal. The place looks incredible and I love the books they have, like a free library. Kudos to whomever decorated that place! There are not so many sittings tho, only a couple of tables with enough room for two chairs, then a massive white table in the back room to be shared with complete strangers (weird). I noticed that the staff was mostly young men and the patrons, young women. Kudos to the staff for not being rude or unpleasant to the customers during those never-ending rush hours. However you could be friendlier. I had a hot chocolate and it was ok. The cups were clean, steady, beautiful, the presentation of the drinks was quite beautiful. There’s no food menu. The prices are affordable. Very large choice of cold and hot coffees. But again, there’s not much else to drink. No limonade, nothing, just that one hot chocolate. By Cafe23, they really meant Coffee99.

They have different sorts of plant-based milk but only one drink without coffee in it: the hot chocolate! So if you don’t like / can’t drink coffee, this place is not for you!

Cafe 23 on Queen Street in Toronto is a popular spot, and I can see why after my recent visit. It was a Saturday, so there was a line, but the staff was efficient and quick, which is a plus. The place itself is stunning, with a unique and tasteful interior design. Even though I'm not a pastry enthusiast, their pastries looked tempting. The real surprise was the hidden gem - the backyard outdoor seating area. It's a cozy and friendly patio with a completely different vibe from the inside. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger all day and soak in the atmosphere. While the coffee didn't quite match my personal taste and seemed a bit overdone, it didn't diminish the overall joyful experience. Toronto has plenty of cafe options, but Cafe 23 is now one of my favorites. It's definitely worth a visit to see for yourself.

Gorgeous coffee spot right next to Trinity Bellwoods The coffee drink selection is really good but their pastries are beyond excellent. You cant go wrong with either a muffin or almond croissant but the star is definitely the Cinnamon Rolls. Made freshly every morning and typically gone a few hours later, they’re delicious and rich but not too heavy. The vibe of this spot is cozy inside but small. They have a large table for people wanting to get some work done or study. The hidden gem is their back patio when weather allows. Its like a mini escape from the noise of the city. Charming and nicely decorated you wouldn’t want to leave. Also, finally and most importantly, this place is one of the few that is actually dog friendly. You can bring your pet and chill on the patio for hours!

Cute cafe in the heart of Toronto. Private spaces for you to have meetings or work. This place can also be suggested for your 1st dates! Very lovely atmosphere and cozy in the winters. They also have a Patio and that's just perfect for summers! Unless u decide to sit out during winters We ordered iced maple mocha coffee and Pumpkin spiced latte both almond milk based along with Poppy seeds bread and bagel yum! I have they have amazing chocolate croissants and coffee shake both not available at that time. Overall beautiful please lovely friendly staff. The staff made sure that the tables were cleaned as soon as the guests got up from the tables! Waste no time! Loved it!

This is one of our favourite downtown coffee shops. We always make a point of stopping by whenever we’re in the neighbourhood - usually in conjunction with one of our regular runs to Sanko Trading Co. Their coffee is some of the best we’re had in the city; we routinely get their delicious cappuccino, although occasionally we stray into Americano territory (also delish). They also have really tasty baked goods. Their scones are worthy of special mention, with their muffins and butter tarts coming close behind. There is a very cozy garden patio out back, a perfect spot to enjoy a break and have a quiet chat. The staff are always friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable - particularly in light of the quality. Highly recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous, feels like you blending into the nature. DRINKS: • Strawberry matcha latte (seasonal): this's the best matcha latte ever existed! The oat milk version is even better. I kept coming back for more. PASTRY: giant croissants, the lemon and the chocolate is really really good. SERVICE: they're super busy but drinks came out very fast. Sometimes they might forget your food . VIBE: There's no words to describe it, feels like a fairy garden. Such a lovely place full of bird chirping and greens. Small problem is bc of that there're birds will steal your cookies and there're a lotttttt of bees.

such a cute cafe! i got an iced oat matcha latte and my friend and I split an almond croissant - it was so delicious :) cutest little indoor and outdoor seating areas (but beware lots of lil birds will come flying at your table). there’s a larger table towards the back with some decor on the wall where lots of people were getting some work done, but I would say indoor seating is quite limited at this cafe. overall really pretty and I loved the decor + food/drinks!

really cool place with great atmosphere and decor!! i got a cappuccino and a cinnamon bun and enjoyed both. i appreciate that they give you a fork and knife if you're getting your order "for here" unlike most cafes in the city, such a small thing but it saved me a lot of trouble lol. i personally find it a little pricey but there are a lot of drink and pastry options to choose from so i understand that.

You can find this cafe in many lists of the “Top cafes in Toronto”. Beside to the interesting interior, you will also find an amazing patio hidden from the street behind the house in a small backyard. It is nicely decorated like the whole cafe, offers a lot of seating and Instagramable places. But it’s very busy place, so you won't go there often and you won't even want to sit there for a long time. However, coffee taste very good.

Extraordinary place! My favorite in Toronto! I love the shock that you get after going through the place and getting out to the patio! Coffee is amazing and I tried so many vegan sweets! Don’t have photo of is since I finished them while waiting for coffee. Service is super, I think even the owner is working behind the bar and I just love that! Can’t wait to come to Toronto again and see this place during the autumn!

A note to Venessa: sometimes you touch people’s lives by creating a warm place that can give them the calm they need and that worth a lot. Thanks for creating such wonderful environment. If you live in Toronto and haven’t been to this cafe, you are missing out! Make sure to check the back patio. It’s a dog friendly cafe. Amazing croissants, scones, bagels, etc. The owner is a goddess! She is a self made business woman and I have lots of respect for her. Very inspiring woman.

Cafe 23 is a delightful spot known for its exceptional croissants and charming interior. The flaky, buttery croissants are a must-try, making it a favorite among croissants lovers. This is a really great jem on Queen St W. I decided to stop by on my way to trinity bellwoods to grab a coffee. The interior decor is lovely both inside and on the patio. It does get busy at times so you may not be able to find a place to sit during peak hours. The mocha was great though did feel slightly pricey but that is to be expected.

Stopped into this coffee shop and felt an instantly good vibe. Service was friendly and the other customers were kind and chatty. I had a flat white and strawberry scone, the coffee was delicious and the scone had a strawberry jam filling.. so good! The patio in the back was peaceful and a great spot to read while you enjoy your coffee. I’ll be back for sure! Thank you.

I really loved this spot! The pastry and mocha were so good! The plants and decor overall was beautiful and cozy; and the music was ideal - I even Shazam'd a few. If it wasn't chilly I would definitely have sat outdoors on one of their two tiered patio sections. It's now become my favourite cafe :) I hope to go back again soon to get some more studying done!

Really love this cafe. It has a lot of personality with the book, nicknacks, and the patio. It’s perfect for a date or to even work from. We had the raspberry scone, savory everything brioche + cream cheese, and a matcha latte. All tasted really good! Scoring it a 4 because I got bit by a bee in the patio.

Incredible coffee but its the particular design and decor of this cafe that sets it apart from all the rest in Toronto. Truly feels you are stepping into a cafe in Paris- so romantic. Havent tried their pastries yet, but they always keep the pantry fully stocked with beautiful goodies. Another big bonus: this cafe opens until 7pm each day.

I've been here a few times and the milk texture is absolutely amazing every time! The lattes are delicious. Their "seasonal" menus are definitely overpriced considering they mostly just use generic syrups to flavour them, but the drinks are delicious nonetheless. Ambiance and seating is very nice, although it is a bit hard to find a place to sit sometimes.

I have been to Cafe 23 twice in the summer now. I love the inced and hot matcha latte. The space is cosy, and I would recommend it when you come here in the summer for the back patio. Perfect spot to grab a beverage when you're on Queen Street West
