My post is to add details as requested by management. Part of the lower rating may be due to letdown from the high expectations we had based on local recommendations & online reviews. Maybe things weren't made to that level because we were late customers. We would certainly give them another try at a different time on another day. Atmosphere seems like it is a very lively place during peak hours which is a plus. The hostess was really cool when we entered. Our waitress(can't remember her name but I do know she broke her leg at some point previously which had her and a waiter joking about it when they did a lottle dance to avoid each other) was good. Knowledgeable and kind. We ordered a lot from the menu which is packed with items. Things we liked a lot was the corn fritters, fried pickles, salads, fries, sweet tea(best sweet tea we've had in a restaurant in a long time) sausage patties, frog legs, fried okra & a couple other things I can't remember now. Things we kind of liked but thought they just missed the mark was the wings(too salty) gator bites, catfish & one similar other fried item(can't remember) were really salty, a little over fried and tasted like they were cooked in old burnt oil, salmon burger was okay but the salmon was cooked too long so it wasn't as moist. The ribs were restaurant ribs. They fall apart as soon as you dig in(I know, I know some people love absolutely fall off the bone ribs) with a sauce slathered everywhere. Not what I prefer but it is fine for mass production. The chicken was good. The alcoholic beverage tasted non alcoholic but I don't like to send alcohol back unless it is totally wrong. I've rambled enough. I will certainly try them again when in town because there are several other menu items we would like to try but the first impression left us slightly unimpressed. Edit: I remember another couple now. The game stew/soup had potential but lacked seasoning. The vegetables we ordered weren't really seasoned either.

I’ve been here several times. The food is great and love the decor. Sadly I called about being a larger than normal group and instead of trying to figure out how they could accommodate us, the lady on the phone that identified herself as the manager of basically said no reservations and don’t bother to show up. Guess our little group will spend a thousand dollars elsewhere.real shame Follow Up based on th reply from the restaurant. I DID NOT LIE IN MY REVIEW. However maybe you should learn to listen to your customers. Let’s start with, it’s sir not ma’am. 1st, I said I had been there several times, 4 to be exact. Never said I brought a group. 2nd, if you had bothered to listen when I called, I said I had a group of 20 players and at least 45 people altogether. I was trying to explain to you that it was a team and their families. Hoping you could at least accommodate the players at 1 table and spread the families around at tables around them, but you never let me get that far. I asked about events because I saw it on your website. Didn’t even know you had a private room until your response. I went to your website because I needed the number to call you, Caney had been my favorite Nashville restaurant until 46 minutes ago when you replied. 3rd, you absolutely said to me that you would not be able to serve a walk-in group of our size. In my review I may have simplified your answer but until you called me a liar, I wasn’t going to dwell too much on it, but since you brought it up. You said at dinnertime there is no way you could take a big group. You sounded annoyed I would even ask. When I asked about event reservations all you said was there was nothing you could do with such short notice. You didn’t say anything about the size of a group for a reservation in the private dining room, that there was a private dining room or if a private dining room was available. Had you, I would have restated that the total group size was a minimum of 45, so hitting the 50 people was probably going to happen. The only thing you have now accomplished is insuring that 4 remains the number of times my family ever eats at your restaurant. Which as I said in my first review, is a shame because you have great food, and a beautiful restaurant. Obviously customer service isn’t part of the recipe!

This place, in theory, was perfect from the Gaylord. Close and 4½ stars. For starters, we had a party of 18. They said they couldn't guarantee we would be at the same table, we agreed thinking we'd all sit in the same section. That's where assuming things get dangerous. Not only did they put us in different tables but different sections to boot. When there were enough tables in each area to accommodate our group. When we started asking to be sat as a group, the servers became rude. It's not my groups job to worry about every waitress getting a tip. It came to a point where I almost suggested leaving because once we finally moved after a struggle, they wouldn't even let people leave their tables to sit with others in our group to the point that a waitress said " no we're not doing this moving around thing anymore." I, for one, will not go back, and be fought over by staff and told my family can't move around and talk to each other. The staff that were nice don't deserve to have to deal with the complete selfishness of the others. So I apologize to them for what just happened and hope you don't have to share the tips meant for you. The others need a refresher course on public service and understanding. And how to take one for the team. The team is the restaurant. So, that was a very short version of substandard staff and spoiled millennials' mental state of me, me, me.

I'm torn with the review and I'm sure if I wasn't terrified of sending food back, this would be a 5 star review. I couldn't decide between steak or ribs for my last meal in Nashville so I got both. For the bulk of my experience, my waitress was borderline dismissive. I ordered half sweet/unsweet tea because generally it's just too sweet at full strength for me. I got unsweet, but not the end of the world. She takes my order and brings back these delicious, powdered sugar wonders which can only be described as the love child between a beignet and a corn fritter. Heavenly fluffs. That's like a 10/5. My food comes and I'm excited to dig in as this place came highly recommended. The ribs are insanely tender and the sauce is good. The deep fried corn was a touch old tasting, but well seasoned and flavorful. The steak is why this dropped. I'm not sure what happened but my steak was ordered as a pretty standard medium and was delivered as a well done piece of jerky. The steak was otherwise very well seasoned and I think if it were cooked to my desired temperature it would've been out the park. I'm terrified of sending food back to a kitchen so I decided to just eat it. The waitress was much more friendly about halfway through my meal and became very pleasant. Maybe she had a jerk at another table. I've leaned this city is fairly full of them so I'm not going to fault her for that. I'd check this place out again if I'm ever back in Nashville for sure, but I'd probably pass on the steak.

My wife and I came to Nashville for a few days to see the Opry, of course. After a long drive from KY, I saw the reviews for Caney Fork and was intrigued. We were seated right away but there was so much to see I had to walk around and see it all. A real showcase of stuffed and mounted wildlife. Our server, Teresa - a real hoot, brought menus and waters, and entertainment. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, whenever I can, for starters. My wife, even the adventurous, ordered steak and baked potato. I wanted to try the Wild Game Platter with Elk Patties, Gator Tail Bites, Game Sausage and Outfitters Stew. Plus beans and fried okra to share. Fried Green Tomatoes came hot and delicious, with a light cornmeal coating. Soon our meals came. Steak and Potato my wife thoroughly enjoyed. I sampled the Gator bites. They were the best I’ve had - and I live in Florida! I kept thinking how nice of them to cut the frog legs into small bites too. But then I discovered the HUGE frog legs under the Gator. It’s been many years since I have eaten frog legs but I don’t remember any this big. They were tender and superb. The Game Sausage and Stew were also great, same with sides. The Elk Patties were ok. Not a big fan of Elk but the BBQ sauce helped a lot. So much food, I couldn’t eat it all, but I loved it so much. But the highlight of the meal was definitely Teresa. Singing, dancing, joking and being an excellent server. No wonder she is so popular.

I use to go out of my way to always eat here highly recommend. Not no more after tonight. The service was beyond none existence. But it matches the food quality. My gf could barley eat half her sandwich. I had to send both my meals back. The owner could care less. He insisted on us paying for one of his nasty meals. Heck the couldn’t even bring us ice tee with ice in it. It’s pretty bad you drive 4 hours and end up eating McDonald’s because the service was better and the food was edible. As you can read the owner shows very little care about what he services to his customers. I wish I would have taken pictures of what he calls cooked fish cooked to gold crisp. It was tough and nasty and the cheese curds were just as nasty. The burger he gave me I should have submitted pictures to the health department, because the tomatoes looked like they were left out for a week. The burger was burnt and the cheese was a total after thought it was just laid on there and not even melted. I had to ask three different people just to get one refill of tea. They brought it back with out ice. I use tell everyone this was must eat restaurant. I drove from down town Nashville to purposely to at your establishment. Apparently after your response you do not care about the quality of food or your service. It is pretty bad after leaving your restaurant we went to McDonalds served a better quality of food, This is the first time in my life I ever done that.

When our family moved here ten years ago from Chicago, this was one of the first southern restaurants we tried. We spontaneously ordered the shockingly fantastic gator bites (not a Northern delicacy), as was the rest of the food. We have been a few times since, but during covid, restaurant quality became questionable. On Saturday, 1-21-2023, we all visited again for the first time in years to celebrate our January Birthdays. The gator and all the food were fantastic as short staffing and food quality have suffered; this wasn't the case at Caney Fork on a busy Saturday. I don't typically write reviews, but ANGEL, our server, was out of this world. She had many tables and was very attentive to all. We did not tell her that we were celebrating Birthdays, but she picked up on it as she noticed the small gift on the table for my brother-in-law. After we ate our fantastic meals (especially the catfish and gator), she came out with a homemade dessert for all three of us with January's Birthdays, singing with a very kind young gentleman colleague. It made the beginning of the day so special before we went across the street to explore the Opry Hotel. We felt nostalgic as we revisited the restaurant all these years later. The food was great, as usual, but shout out to ANGEL for her outstanding and welcoming personality and customer service skills, making our experience that much more memorable!

I have been here a few years now and it has never steered me wrong! This Nashville landmark should go on your bucket list, whether you are local or a visitor! There is taxidermy, hunting decor, fishing decor, an old flatbed truck front, some wood statues--lots of selfie opportunities. They have some healthy options, but it is mostly deep fried with southern style veggies. They have wild game--you won't believe how well seasoned the frog legs are! My cousin from Cincinnati loved it! The staff is wonderful! We were there Wednesday Aug. 2 at about 530 pm. Our server was Yvette. She was wonderful with my dad and cousin who are both veterans and love telling stories. The staff pay respect to every veteran and gave Dad a veteran discount. A veteran left his table and shook our hands, thanking them for their service, as did some more staff members. Ebony, ivory, black, brown, red, yellow green--this is the great nation I remember from the 70's to 90's! Definitely check this place out!

They have an indoor fish pond, and indoor fire so you can order Smores and kids can toast them. They have a lot of hunting and farm paraphernalia, and lots of taxidermy.

For the third time here the alligator meat was too tough. Had a dear steak and a piece of bone chipped my tooth. The prices have risen and the menu prices have All been blacked out so you don't know the prices. Knowing that most meals are between $13.00 to $25.00 dollars a meal, the waitress introduced us to a Best seller to try out and made it sound like a bargain. We took her word -still with no idea the cost- and ordered. The two sides costed extra and thinking the bill would be around sixty dollars for both of us ended up costing over $177.00 dollars! When asking the manager why we were not made aware that the steaks alone were $50.00 dollars each, he replied that we should have scanned a picture that showed the prices. I told him the waitress should have told us the app menu and he said it was not her job. But when I said that I would never willingly pay that much money for a meal, he said we should have asked her about the prices, then back to the should have scanned the menu first. A female then came and made it clear that she didn't care if we were too stupid to know how to use the scan it was our fault and will pay in full or be arrested. I made it clear that I was not paying for the waitress tip. My wife and I used to dine there a lot under old management but would not recommend it now.

Best stop in Nashville so far! We started off with Fried Green Tomatoes and Gator Tail. Both had a delicious dipping sauce. The apps were absolutely scrumptious, served hot and fresh, and came out quickly. We both had the Elk Sliders with Fried Okra and Campfire Potatoes. Oh my. Those taters. Smothered in well caramelized onions and cooked to perfection. So yummy. Okra was cooked wonderfully with just enough well seasoned breading. Now those Elk Sliders, wow! Crispy onion rings, tiny toasted buns, a little dab of slaw and that Elk burger. They were wonderful. We absolutely enjoyed this great meal! Add in the funky big game decor, complete with a bobcat "driving" a truck, a waterfall and a pond, and plenty of big game mounts, and you've got a great atmosphere. There was even a bluegrass band playing some great old tunes to go along with our dinner. Our server Darren was friendly, quick, and checked on us just enough. Quick check/box/pay, and we were on our way back to the campground. 10/10 would definitely recommend. I know for SURE we'll be back.

Came into town today for a week and passed this place on the way to the hotel, so we decided to stop in for dinner. When we got here, we were greeted and told about a 15 min wait. After about 5, we were brought back to our table. We ordered the Caney Sampler (Fried pickles, onion rings, Fried green tomatoes, and catfish bites) and a Wild Game Platter (Aligator bites, Frog legs, Elk patties, stew, and sausage). Normally, on our reviews, we say what our favorite thing was, but with this one, I can honestly say everything was amazing, and we couldn't agree on one thing to be our favorite. If you are traveling to Nashville, you HAVE to stop here. You won't be disappointed. Service was amazing. the food was amazing and came out super quick. We will be back to this one for sure!¹

Great looking place and interesting atmosphere. Bathrooms could use a cleaning but overall acceptable. I had the ribs which tasted oven cooked and the sauce was nothing special. My wife had the salmon which was thin and overcooked. Our server mistakenly brought an extra side as part of our kids meals. When we saw the additional charge on our bill and asked about it, management said that they would take the charge off for a side if the kids didn't eat it... yeah right. Pretty stingy. Half the menu prices were blacked out with no updated price listed, so you have no idea what things cost, shabby. Update or reprint your menu's if there are changes, at least write prices in!!! There were a few other notable items as well but overall, it wasn't good and it was kinda expensive for the quality of food we received. It was convenient for us as we were visiting the Grand Ole Opry and wanted BBQ but didn't want to go to the hood to get it. It's just too bad there wasn't a better option.

Went here on a whim after a full day around Nashville with my grandma and friend. We showed up at 7:45 PM, thinking we had enough time as Google said they were open until 9 P.M. It turns out they were closing at 8 P.M., but they still accommodated us. I am so thankful they did! Cassie, our waitress, was very friendly and knew the menu well. My friend and I ordered the Caney Combo at Cassie's recommendation, and it was excellent. Neither of us had had catfish, but we ordered it fried. The breading was light and flavorful. The ribs were hearty and fell off the bone! The corn on the cob was technically deep fried, but again, it was not overly heavy (you can note this in the picture). My grandma ordered the pulled pork BBQ sandwich without the bun. We were told ahead of time the pork can be fatty at times, but according to my grandma, this was not the case, and she enjoyed it. I also want to recommend the complimentary hush puppies. I haven't had those in years, and they hit the spot! I wish we had more time to explore - the restaurant is huge with lots of fun decor. I definitely hope to return here next time I am in town!

After reading a bunch of the reviews, I had to check this place out. We were seated in the bar area. The server never identified himself but appeared to be the bartender. For whatever reason, he and my husband did not hit it off. My husband is super sensitive to spice so he asked if the pulled pork sandwich was spicy. Guy says no. So we both get the pulled pork and I had the loaded baked potato. Guy kept saying mmk like the character in SouthPark in response to us which was strange. So husband sandwich arrives and he finds it spicy. Guy says that strange because it’s Sweet Baby Rays. So much for the secret family recipe! The sandwich was ok a bit dry. I poured my coleslaw on top and dipped it in bbq. I definitely have had better pulled pork in North Carolina. My loaded baked potato was under loaded. Barely any butter, sour cream ,bacon or cheese but after 9.5 hours on the road, I was so hungry I ate most of it. Husband liked fries but only ate 1/2 of pulled pork. Luckily there was ice cream next door.

Went here by total fluke because cracker barrel next door was a long wait. We needed a quick dinner before an Opry show. We were sweating it out about maybe being late (but didn't say anything because what were we thinking trying to grab dinner at a proper restaurant with an hour till showtime). We got seated instantly. Ordered within 5 min. Food came almost immediately after which was an enormous pleasant surprise. The food was great! Steak and gator were awesome! Chicken tenders were actual chicken and not processed strips. Sides were delicious! The service was incredible! Our server (Preston?) was very charming and he made the experience exceptional! Best service we've ever had anywhere! We got to the Opry before the show despite having got into the restaurant an hour before!

Honestly between the decor, the staff and the speed of our experience, I'd say this was the BEST restaurant experience we've had with two kids under 8.

This was a nice local restaurant that was nice with friendly staff and welcoming as we walked in. We were seated right away and was greeted soon after we were seated by our waitress. We ordered the catfish bites for an appetizer and they turned out to be tasty and the sauce that came with it complimented the flavor. I was a little surprised that they came out like really fast (within minutes), so it gave me the impression that they were already made and not made fresh. We also received the two complimentary corn fritters which were okay although I am not a big fan. The wife ordered the grilled salmon and I had the big boy fish dinner. The grilled salmon arrived at the table looking pretty good aesthetically but lacked flavor along with the sides. The big boy fish dinner was the same, it lacked the flavor and seems as if it was cooked with minimal seasoning which it was 3 stars for me.

I was here visiting and it was unusual to see a place that offers wild game. It was nice that they had a platter. That means you can try a little bit of everything. To be honest there was nothing that popped out to be really good, everything was ok and some things were not good. They were out of gator and no one told us, when I asked (because my plate was supposed to me with some) they said, we are out so we gave you fish. It would have been nice to know that so that I would have ordered something else. What really did not leave a good impression was their service. We sat at the bar and the bar tender would ignore several people. When we finally got his attention, he seemed like there was another place to be. There were no recommendations or anything of that sort. It is nice to travel for work, because I don't have to go to that place again.

just want to say, before I drop the negative, that the people who work hee, work hard, and the customer service is impeccable. truly incredible. now...the food....well....unless you just want to have a good personable experience and not eat...sure...stay... otherwise...go somewhere else for food. The food as pictured...was cold in spots. most of which felt or seemed as if it was all premade and put in a microwave and heated up. I was baffled by how fast it was delivered to my table after ordering... so I'm going to safely assume the "chef mic" was who prepped my meal this evening. Additionally....most of it was extremely salty. after I left I felt nausea's and bloated. I left a 20% tip...I say that to not sully the good people of the establishment... the food however...needs an overhaul.

Went for dinner. Ordered the sirloin medium. It came out very well done. Server agreed. Took it back and next one came out raw. He agreed again. Asked them to cook a little more to be medium. Still not right. The texture was off. I asked to verify it was actually beef and sever said yes. Couldn’t eat it since it wasn’t cooked as ordered and thrown off by the texture. The staff says known for their game, obviously not the beef. Can’t get a steak right. I was to the point I wasn’t sure if it was safe to eat based on the texture even at medium rare. The server told the manager, bald guy with glasses. He gave a 20% discount for something I couldn’t eat and that should never had left the kitchen. I honestly don’t think it was fresh. I grew up in my family’s restaurants and this steak was not right. Our server Carter was great. My husband like his wild game platter.

This is probably the first time I have NEVER hesitated to give a full, gleaming 5 stars to a restaurant! AMAZING!!!! We started with the gator bites. These were some of the best I’ve had from the Florida coast up to Virginia. These topped them all. I had the bison burger, with an elk slider on the side. They were both so juicy and FULL of flavor. Simply divine! My boyfriend had the Caney Combo: bbq ribs and catfish. It was excellent as well, but he said he would get the bison burger next time. The place is full of fun animal mounts. For an avid hunter but also an animal lover, this place left me with a smile all night and my cheeks hurt! Our waitress, Theresia, was so fun and kind and happy and helpful. I would go back and request her every time! This place is worth the drive, no matter how far away you are. I cannot wait until I get to go back again!!!!

I am seriously shocked by the amount of good reviews. My fiancé and I had a horrible dinner here tonight, and it was not cheap either. I asked for my steak medium and it came well done, if not overdone. He got the NY Strip steak which was about a quarter inch thick and did not look anything like NY Strip. The owner can comment back whatever they want, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. $55+tip for this?! The images on their menu are clearly just pulled from the internet and the fact that they have signs claiming to be the #1 dining experience in Nashville is the biggest joke I have heard. The only reason I would come back is to stand outside and warn people not to waste their money here, and instead drive 2 minutes up the road to Santa Fe Cattle Co.

This was one of the best restaurants I have EVER been to. When we arrived there was no wait so we got right in. Our server was amazing! He was so friendly and even gave us recommendations! I got the 10 oz strip with broccoli, campfire potatoes, and deep fried corn on the cob. The steak was cooked to perfection. Great flavor. The broccoli was fresh and delicious. The campfire potatoes were really good! They were crispy on the outside soft on the inside and had great flavor! The deep fried corn on the cob was amazing. The server brought us deep fried corn fritters with powdered sugar. Our experience was great start to finish! We are from the Cookeville area so if we venture out here again, we will definitely be back! Great atmosphere, great service, great food. If you haven't been here put it on your list of places to visit!

Edward was our server and did great in taking care of us. Even the young man that sat us was starting things off on the right foot. We ordered drinks and appetizer of onion rings. These are thin sliced, we prefer the larger but the first order came out cold and Edward returned quickly with a much warmer replacement serving. The fish platter on a bed of fries? Well if it was a small bed then mission accomplished , but it was small and then the fish portions were small finger sized. Very dissatisfied with the size but was not going to return or complain again. The side salad was nice and the broccoli helped make up for the main dish. The complimentary fritters he brought were the highlight of the meal. Very beignet like. With so many choices in the area they need to improve if they want return business.

My wife and I ate here the other night for the first time and we live here in Nashville. We absolutely loved it. The food was awesome. She had catfish and I had steak medium rare, with gator bites. The steak has the taste like it just came off a charcoal grill. Awesome. Gator bites were ok in my opinion. It was just fun to say i had some gator. Lol. Atmosphere is top notch for me. We sat right next to a pond with catfish swimming around and they had a live bluegrass band walking around playing songs which really added to the atmosphere. I'm not sure if the band is there weekdays. We were there on a weekend. They do have a bar to hang at if there's a wait. Anyway, Enjoy!

Walked in on a sunday for a nice meal with my lady. I was seated right away, which was surprising for a sunday afternoon. Drinks and appetizers came lightning fast. Enjoyed a ceaser salad and chicken wings. Both were excellent. My lady had the ribs, and I had the southern platter with catfish and shrimp. Ribs were falling off the bone, very tender. The catfish was superb, very crispy. The hidden gem was the loaded baked potato. It's one of the best I have ever had. Will definitely be back. We loved the family environment. Put this on your list if you haven't been.

The Caney Fork River Valley Grille was opened 11 years ago and they held onto the history of the building. There are so many different animals in taxidermy mounted all around the restaurant to see the rich history in hunting and fishing and outdoor exploration. Their Alligator Chili is very well prepared and wonderful flavor. Their Big Game Burger includes Ground Bison beef and Ground Elk beef. We ordered it medium well and the taste was again exquisite!! Our family had such a wonderful time and the food was so good and the service was top notch!! When you are in the Nashville area on I-65, stop and enjoy a wonderful meal and wonderful, down-home service!!

Brenda and I just flew in from California for a week of fun in Nashville, it was 7pm and we just checked in at the Wyndham Resort and we were starving. We just wanted to grab something quick and stumbled on this place, boy are glad we did!! Our bartender/waiter/busboy were all the same guy, Eddie. He was hustling around like a mad man but still found time to make us feel welcome and recommended the blackened catfish and 1/2 rack of ribs. IT WAS DELICIOUS.Thank you Eddie and we will be back for some of that famous alligator chili.

I had really high expectations for the ribs. And don't get me wrong, they are good. For some reason I anticipated that they smoked them using wood. They are slow cooked, but not slow smoked. Still, I finished a half rack with some very good okra and broccoli. Chased it down with a Blackstone Porter brewed in Nashville and a shot of Clayton James Tennessee whiskey. The bartender was the best part of the visit. If you are adventurous, try the gator tail, bison burger, or frog legs.

This place was awesome. Several rooms of cool things like a truck and a waterfall and a fish pond. There was a bar rooms live music. There are stuffed animals and fishing and hunting themed displays. Now the food is great! I had the catfish and shrimp and fritters. Yum! Lyvette brought out some chipotle ranch and wow that topped off the fried okra! The staff were great here but Lyvette went above and beyond. Advice and menu help and so sweet. She was speedy and available too. Loved this place. Excited to check out the ice cream now!

My bf and I came to Nashville for a work convention and decided to give this place a try on our last night in town. The hostess and manager were super helpful and sweet. Our waiter Jacob was awesome! Did a great job being his first night on the floor too. He took our order and not even 10mins later, our food was at our table and it was AMAZING! Best steak (cooked just how I like it) and gator tail I’ve ever had! The cooks definitely did an awesome job! My bf got the BBQ sandwich and that was good too. Definitely give this place a try, it’s well worth it!

Dark, musty, dirty. The three words that come to mind when I think about our lunch here. The waitress and host were fantastic no issues there at all. The atmosphere is supposed to be woodsy and unique but it reads "I've given up." So much needs to be revamped including lighting. The food was horrendous. You just know they have never changed the oil as the fried fish was nearing black and the thick grease that seeped out when broken open was viciously disgusting. I noted open containers of sweet tea just left in the musty air as well. This place will be an easy pass the next time we are in town.

The service was not good. Our waitress only came to our table 3 times on her own accord...once to take our order, once to bring our food and once to bring the bill. I had to flag her down to get more tea and most of the time, she would hollar across the room, "y'all doing okay over there?" I did like the alligator and the fried green tomatoes we're good. Fried fish was greasy and our food was hardly warm. I'm not sure that I'd go back unless I had a more attentive waitress and wanted alligator!

If you visit, sit at the bar and hang out with Eddie. Great sense of humor and plenty of recommendations. I only gave the food 4 stars as everything was well done and I asked for medium rare. That being said, it was very tasty. The fried cheese curds were amazing. And the burger was good. The elk slider was a hockey puck. They did offer to remake the burger and sliders. I declined as I didn't want to wait and I was hungry.

Looking for an awesome experience and even more amazing food?? this is the place! Me and a few friends ventured into this place, the high expectations were definitely meet. Great service, great food, and reasonably priced. Sampled many dishes and all were so good, the atmosphere was cool with a band a pond and all. Many thanks to Jason, our server, for taking care of us.... check out the website for quite a unique menu selection including bison, elk, quail and even Gator, as well as some of the best ribs you'll ever have, deep fried corn on the cob and more....Will be back for sure!

While moving across country we stopped here for some southern classics. The fried green tomatoes were so good, the breading was perfect. The ribs were fall off the bone and the catfish was surprisingly good! My fiance had the chopped steak and it was so good as well. Nicol was an amazing server and seemed to read our mind when we needed things. If I'm ever traveling around there again I will be back!

Such a great local spot! Had an excellent live band playing when we went on a Friday night. We split the Caney Sampler and the Elk sliders. I will say it was quite a bit of fried food… but all was tasty. Favorite thing was for sure the fried green tomatoes! Backwoods tea was also excellent. Great local spot to try both wild game dishes as well as southern food at super affordable prices.

Food seemed old and reheated. We never got our gator tail appetizer either. Waitress said she could not add Cajun seasoning to the catfish, she did bring it up to the table but it seems like no one wanted to work or do their job properly. She insisted on us getting a dessert after 2 times already telling her no. It seems like a good place for tourists because of the Cracker Barrel experience but not worth it

Had a great wild game dinner. We started with alligator bites. Corn fritters were complimentary and delicious. Like eating fried dough at the fair.i got the elk sliders with fried Mac and cheese and the hubby got the bison loin qith broccoli and potatoes with brown gravy. Everything was delicious and the ambiance excellent qith all the wildlife decor and bluegrass band playing. Our server Avery was amazing and took great care of us. Tony stopped by for a chat and everyone was super friendly. We really enjoyed our visit.

Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. The food was good, nothing tasted bad or was cold. The building itself was a bit warm for my family. However it was 90+ degrees outside. Seated right away and both of our servers(close to shift change) were awesome. Probably will return at some point and try a different wild game dish.

The good: The restaurant was very clean. I saw employees disinfecting tables and menus. The venison and gator bites were very tender and tasty. The decor was awesome! The bad: The rice was so hard it was not edible. The potatoes are instant, straight out of a bag. The quail was so over cooked you couldn’t even Chew the meat off the bone. The quail legs were way to salty. Definitely not the worth or quality of a $25 meal.

Mediocre. Food was okay - not memorable. Steak tip dinner was misleading because it’s a hamburger topped with gravy, mushrooms and onions - not pieces of steak. Chicken tenders were very good and fries were crisp. Bison burger was okay. Onion rings were unappealing- came out lukewarm and were soggy and greasy. Service was quick and friendly.
