No Doubt! I would say that this is one of the greatest places for students to stay. I'm just incredibly grateful to have secured a unit here. That is thanks to LAURA who managed to get me the room I wanted and consistently updating me, even when i was miles away. LAURA literally helped me with my enquiries and never got tired with them. She understood that Birmingham was new to me and she patiently guided me through the whole process of booking the room before i arrive. Thank You Very Much LAURA. Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the staff KARRY. I had two large suitcases with me, and after a 17hr+ flight from home I was just completely worn out. KARRY assisted me with sorting out my room and she even extended her kindness in helping me to get my luggage’s up until my room as I was struggling all alone. She never sighed and she was too generous and always willing to provide a helping hand to my endless enquiries. The room was clean when I arrived and the room's amenities are all excellent, and if there's anything the staffs are just a call away. The staffs at the reception desk are there 24/7 and it feels super safe to live here. No outsiders are allowed to enter and everything has to go through the reception, feels secure. Tesco is just right across the street if you need anything and few restaurants if you are lazy to cook. It's 10mins away from the town and everything is so near if you need anything. Very Convenient!!! I'm only emphasising the fact, as to how helpful KARRY is and without her assistance, I would have been stranded that night of my arrival. Feeling lonely is one of the biggest challenges you have when you move to a new city, let alone a foreign country and KARRY, you made me overcome that with your hospitality. THANK YOU SO MUCH KARRY FOR BEING AMAZINGGGG!!!
I've been at the Old Fire Station since September 2019, and I absolutely love it here, the building is in walking distance to EVERYTHING! A minute from the Aston Campus, 8 minutes from BCU & only about 10 from Bullring & Grand Central. The rooms are great, I recommend a viewing before booking as it is always better to see rooms in person than online, you get more of a feel for how homely they really are. I have a shared kitchen and its got everything i could need, anything that was missing from the flat (hoover) i was able to request from reception and got it very quickly. The environment is extremely safe, which was the most important factor for me as I moved away from home with not much prior knowledge of Birmingham. The building is well maintained and cleaned often, there is free parking offered for residents which is a great bonus as not many student accommodations offer any parking at all. The staff are always on hand to help out, (both during the day and at night also / 24 hours) as soon as I've needed help they've dealt with it very quickly. he team often put on great events in which you can meet other residents, most recently our night owl Shonagh planned an amazing movie and pamper/pizza night which we all loved. Ola is so helpful and quick to resolve issues, I often find myself in reception talking to Jasmine about everything from uni to my nails :) . Although newer members of staff, Shonagh and Josh in particular are always around to lend some help, and have a laugh with, they're both so lovely and one of the main reasons as to why I love TOFS so much, big thank you to them all xx
As a tenant who has been renting here for over 4 years, after being knocked on the door 4-5 times in the middle of the night, when I asked who was this and what they wanted, they, whoever was outside was keeping silent and kept knocking at my door. I hope that when the staff can respond, when I negotiate with the manager on November 15, 2022, my suggestion is to install cameras in the corridor as soon as possible, after all, the installation of cameras is for everyone's safety, In particular, if the corridors are monitored, they can warn people with bad intentions. However, after recording my room number, the manager of the apartment told me that this kind of event is only a small probability event, so my words "this is for everyone's safety" are not realistic. Her advice to me was to call the staff and told me it was unrealistic to put surveillance in the hallway and "you have nothing happened". I was really angry because it was too late when something happened. I said that since you guys are planning to do nothing, I can only call the police in this situation. She asked how long I had lived and asked my name, and I was very curious if my name was directly related to this matter. She said that I didn't understand her efforts. Her credit was to have lights installed in the square. She still had a lot to do and was on the waiting list. By the way, I am being rude. My response was that I thought we were both women and we could understand each other, but I didn't understand why it was blaming the tenant or even suggesting that I was overreacting. Of course, she would never admit it.
Writing this review because they STILL haven’t paid my deposit back from last year. I’ve emailed 3 times and not had one reply or an update in the past 28 days. Good things about it are the location being so good and the courtyard was nice. The first room I got given when we moved in was not like the rooms we we were shown before, it was an attic room with MASSIVE beams from floor to ceiling taking up a lot of space. We complained and the guy said they’re wasn’t any rooms available so we refused to accept it and he suddenly realised there was another room available. This room was fine, the only problems was that the shower constantly got clogged and the room lightly smelt of smoke which clung on to our clothes. EXTREMELY stuck up about parking when they have all that space, when I wanted to move some stuff out I got questions like ‘is your stuff packed and ready to go’ ‘how long you gonna be’ and hesitation to open the gates from reception staff. Also both chairs in the Room came off the stand because they were glued on. One of the most annoying thing was the glass door always being broken, fixed for one week then broken again. It made it extremely annoying after 5:00pm if you wanted to go Tesco because we had to go the complete opposite side of the courtyard when there was an exit right next to us and security doesn’t let you through reception.
Lived here for the past year, didn’t have a problem until it came to cancelling my booking for the following year. Staff were inconsiderate and rude, they called me a liar on several occasions when I followed information they gave me, saying I was making it up that they told me such information or that I’d misunderstood as I ‘didnt fully understand and couldn’t grasp the situation’ - basically they called me stupid. Toward the end of the year in the summer the Bandstand building is scruffy and dilapidated, the walls are heavily marked and scuffed, the place smells constantly of garbage and the lift never works properly. Staff were always snarky about my parcels, whenever I received a lot of orders they’d make comments about how much I ordered and ask me where I got the money from to pay for it all. One member of staff demanded I opened my flatmate’s room for her whilst my flatmate was out, and when I refused screamed at me about being unreasonable. She pounded on my flatmate’s door despite me telling her - and showing her proof via snapchat - that my flatmate was at uni and not in her room. My shower didn’t work properly throughout the whole time I was there, and instead of fixing the shower I was offered another room to shower in - but wasn’t allowed to move into that room. Honestly glad to be shot of the place.
My partner and I stayed in a Bandstand Gold Studio flat from 2017-2019. Our experience has been very pleasant and we truly couldn't have asked for more from student accommodation. The studio was spacious, high quality furnishings (including appliances), good size bed, an openable window (available on first few floors only), nice bathroom, and repairs/maintenance were always done quickly - either on the day or next day. We got on very well with all the staff of whom were always very friendly, kind, helpful and accommodating. They really made our stay so much more enjoyable. The social area has been done very nicely, always kept clean, a long with the laundry facilities which luckily aren't crazily expensive. The gym (right beside the bandstand building!) is decent, not huge but has the basics like treadmills, weights etc. and is a great bonus as it is available to use 24/7 and included in the rent. The location is great, with a Tesco Express & Costa right on the doorstep and a 10-15min walk to the Bullring, New Street and the stations. The conservatoire is a nice 4-5 mins walk through the Aston area. 100% would recommend! Thank you to all the staff at The Old Fire Station who helped make our time in Birmingham great. ^_^
The ONLY positive about this accommodation is that it's close to Aston University. Not only were there extensive maintenance issues, they falsely advertised a room in the bandstand that I put an initial offer on. And then placed me in a basement room with little to no natural light (which was the opposite of the room the staff showed me). After many complaints from myself before my first year at Uni even started, they finally moved me. The new room was suffocating due to the lack of ventilation in the room and non-opening windows. In the winter, it got freezing as the heating system was poor and faulty. Even though I had made many complaints, it never got fixed. The gym is hardly a gym (probably why it isn't shown on the website). The lift was broken for an extensive amount of time, and some of the laundry machines were out of order for the whole time I was there. And there were constant water maintenance problems that led to the water being shut off and hot water turned off. Among all the negatives, the staff are lovely and friendly; however, posts from the mail were lost a couple of times, and the in-house parcel tracking isn't very efficient. I STRONGLY recommend viewing this accommodation before moving.
The old fire station is simply a great choice for Aston and Birmingham City University students. Located at the Aston University campus and less than 5 minutes walking to BCU. I and my brother stayed at this accommodation for 12 months (2018/19) and had a fantastic stay. The highlights are: 1. I have not seen more supportive management team than the team at the Old Fire Station-they are always there to help you. Thank you so much to Jasmine, Blair, and K. 2. Hassle free for students as they don’t have to be worried about bills or maintenance. 3. 24/7 emergency contact is available plus always a member of security team is present at the complex every night. 4. The flats are really offered with reasonable prices, considering the comfort and support which tenants get. 5. Free gym for all the tenants. It has essential equipments. 6. If you don’t wanna stay till late at your university library, there is one at the old fire station. Also you can enjoy the facilities of common room: mini kitchen, Billiard table, TV,etc. Call them now and book the best choice:))
The worst accommodation place that I have ever seen. If you want to waste your money and disturb yourself mentally, you can live here. The heating facilities in the rooms are awful. For one day, we didn't have water. We didn't have hot water for two days without any compensation, just 20 cakes on their table at the reception. The isolation of windows and walls is awful. There is an annoying smell of wastewater in buildings. The cleanness of the corridors and the lift is terrible. The quality of the bed and its bedding material is low. The quality of floors' material in rooms is low and always absorbs dust and dirt. Staff sometimes didn't care about complaints, and they just said ok without action. The rents are so high compared with other better accommodation. I am so sorry for the management team who could not handle these problems. Parcel tracker is so weak and for letters they didnt infotme us! The positive point is just close to the universities. I hope they improve their properties.
Overall, living in a flat at the Old Fire Station was alright, however there are a few things that I didn't like about this accommodation. First of all, for the money paid for my room I expected at least to have more cleaning supplies at my disposal since our flat got dirty quite often and we had to buy a vacuum cleaner ourselves and other supplies. Second of all, regarding the room, it is spacious enough, but no window that can be open in Bandstand, meaning we only get air ventilation, barely. During the winter it got pretty cold and during the spring a bit too warm. Moreover, no wardrobe space whatsoever and the flooring was a pain to clean. Third of all, the communication between the reception and tenants is not as good as I expected, my flatmates and I having complained about certain things throughout the year and no amendments have been done regarding that, as well as not receiving replies to e-mails/phone calls. I don't recommend this accommodation if you have any other options.
If google would let me give 0 stars, I would. This accommodation is the worst one in Birmingham! So many issues ever since I moved in in 2022/23, ranging from food stained unpainted walls, a window that doesn’t open and overall a lack of quality. You’d be paying thousands for a room that is not even worth a penny. I promise you if you had to pick the street or one of these rooms, you’d choose to sleep on the street. Furthermore, nervous about making friends? No worries! The silverfish infestation this building has will give you a warm welcome and you can make loads of friends with these bugs that come out every day for a room party. The staff will not listen to you when you approach them with problems and they will do their very best to steal your money. Not sure why people still choose to live in this building, I know I’m not the only one who has had issues, I’m just not scared enough to post this. Again, DO NOT choose this accommodation, prison cells are more nicer than this!
Living at the Old Fire Station is the best decision I've ever made. I've lived here throughout my first and second year at University. Since the management has been handed to Student Roost the quality of the services provided here have improved massively. The staff at reception are always friendly and will do their best to help you no matter how busy they may be. They are also welcoming and will ask you about your day etc, which is great. Something else which really sets TOFS apart from any other accommodation is the fact it is literally an Old Fire Station (sorry for stating the obvious) - but the building has so much of the original character and the study space is a particular favourite of mine. TOFS is literally on the university campus so is great for getting to and from lectures, as well as being in a safe area - they have security on during the evenings for the extra safety. Can't rate TOFS enough and I urge you to book if you're considering doing so.
Ok the rooms definitely have a few minor issues (drain keeps clogging, motion sensor in bathroom not sensitive enough so light switch off periodically) but overall it's in a very good location, reasonably priced for the good location/bills included/etc. Our room is very nice, but you do have to climb up 3 flights of stairs (no lift in our building), also the WiFi can get pretty slow at peak times (ASK4 seem to have no intention of fixing this), but is otherwise reliable. As someone else mentioned the rooms can definitely get VERY hot in the summer, and ventilation is poor (no AC also), so you do literally have to leave your door open to improve circulation, and on the hottest days (30+ degrees) this doesn't actually help too much. This sounds quite negative but if you can look past these issues definitely take a look - as far as student accommodation goes this is almost as good as it gets. Oh and the staff are great - always really chatty and friendly
The worst accomodation I’ve stayed at. Ventilation broke and wasn’t fixed for a month with NO compensation. Ridiculously overpriced. Had a hole in my kitchen wall that I reported but never fixed. The lift didn’t work during move-in and then again for the last period of staying there including move-out, meaning people had to drag lots of heavy bags down lots of stairs. Complained at ME for a messy kitchen that was either hardly messy or the other flatmate’s fault. They held viewings in my flat without warning me??? Instead of calling or emailing before paying a visit to you, they’d just knock on your door. The one star is purely for Bayton Anderson who is so lovely and actually got things done when asked. The rest of the staff always had an attitude or were sitting scrolling on phones while there were tenants waiting. I actively avoided passing through reception. Don’t stay here. Even unite is better. Biggest waste of money and regret it wholly.
Since living here at the Old fire station, I have found it easier to getting university. One of the good things about living here is how close you are to both Aston university campus (2mins) and BCU city centre campus (10mins) both are walking distance. Also you are within walking distance to the city centre, getting to from the accommodation is quite easy due to the multiple transport links nearby. The staff here are very warm, helpful and friendly. Josh in particular has been very helpful with myself whilst moving in and living here. One of the cons I would say living here is depending in which building you live in, you may hear traffic from the Aston expressway throughout the day and sometimes at night very faintly. Overall, I would suggest living here, it’s a nice atmosphere with good facilities especially if a 2/3 year student or even a postgraduate as the majority people I have encountered here for that category.
The accommodation is one of the costliest accommodation in Birmingham. They have a gym just for the sake of having it. It’s not well equipped at all. Also the laundry room is very small (the washing machine is not clean most of the time). Coming to the rooms, the windows don’t open, you feel suffocated during summer and heater don’t work well, hence very cold during winters. Also they don’t provide cupboards in the room instead they give few racks kind of thing. Finally, coming to the kitchen part. As mine was shared with 6 people it was terrible experience. Flatmates don’t clean up the mess it’s dirty of the time. Anyone can fall sick. The inspection happens once’s in a blue moon. So, no one cares about the kitchen to clean. My experience was really bad. Good part of the accommodation was that it was closer to the university and the social space was good to hangout. Also, the stuff was kind enough to help.
Mice Problem Lived there for 2 years, I lived on ground floor on the first year, mice came behind the fridge and gave me the worst night in England. I complained the next day, problem didn't solve for at least a month. At least 3 mice were killed by myself with mice traps, more mice escaped through my door into my neighbours room. The worst is the office people didn't do anything about my nightmare until they arrange a new room after a long period of time. I left early because of the mice problem, they even write a court letter to my parent to chase my rent!!!! ridiculously management doesn't care to solve this problem. Wished to complaint but the officer doesn't care. If you only have the last choice of the room, leave it please and find somewhere else, I trust you can get a better room than I do!
Enquired about this room during covid so it was difficult to get viewings - the photos on the website are misleading, does not even state one of the rooms does not have a window; when I asked about the window I was told that it “should have one”.. there was no window. During a particularly heavy rain storm, the entire flat flooded. The heating in the room never worked and there were constant maintenance issues. The conventional oven stopped working - when I told reception I was told they would look into it, however, they never did. Water went out multiple times during my stay, and no compensation or anything. The price is far too much for what it is, a tiny room (some with no windows) and constant maintenance issues..To top it all off, the lift was not working.
I moved in here in the Silver Studio Plus with my husband on 29th Jan 2021 and we have found it to be the best place, with our University right near us. The location is right in the middle of the city which makes it even more better and comfortable. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Special mention to Nathan Prince, who helped me borrow the office system to complete my assignment because I broke my laptop just the night before my assignment deadline. During this time of pandemic, The Old Fire Station is offering tremendous support and always keeps the accommodation clean and tidy, with all the necessary precautions. I would highly recommend this place to students. :)
Stayed here for 2016/2017 and it was not good. We had rats constantly in the kitchen that they were never able to get rid of. The temperature of the room was always either really cold or really hot. No openable window meant there was no fresh air. Saw little done about any issues that were brought up. When moving out they charged me and those who had already moved out for cleaning the kitchen despite the fact that it was the last person to move out that caused the mess after we already had. There are much better options for student accommodation for Birmingham, don't let the fact it's close to Aston temp you, it really was awful for the money we paid.
Staying at the old fire station is one of the best decisions I have made. It is perfectly located with Aston campus being only a 2 min walk away and a 10 min walk to the city centre. The staff at OFS are genuinely the most down to earth people I have ever met. Shonagh the night time owl is one of our favourites, and we often spend nights chatting away with her. Josh, Jasmine and Ola are just as amazing too! Each and every one of them put in a lot of effort to make you feel at home. Any problems are dealt with as soon as possible. I couldn't recommend OFS enough, and I look forward to making many more memories at OFS :))
Have loved living here in my last year of uni. Such a short walk to the BCU campus and so quick to get into town and to new street station. There is also a small Tesco right outside which is handy. I was able to book a flat with my friends so I knew exactly who I was living with and also got to look around the accommodation before booking. The staff are incredibly friendly and positive and they tend to put on different events throughout the year which is a fun bonus as I know other accomodations don't do this. Would defo recommend the old fire station to any student
I am in a top floor apartment in the "HQ" building. It's not as bad as the reviews state (most negative reviews seem to be for the bandstand building- which I hear is not ideal) The room is spacious and fairly priced for being so close to the city center and campus. My only complain is the delay in maintenance requests and the mail room is a nightmare. They have lost packages and not yet figured out to email students regarding when packages arrive. Also, they promised a gym would be ready for the 2018 year and it still hasn't opened weeks into term.
I rented this accommodation for my son. Unfortunately we didn’t view it in person prior to him moving in. The accommodation was nothing like the photos. It was dirty, dingy and had mould on the windows. The bathroom was infested with silver fish and the hob short circuited every time he tried to use it. My concerns were ignored and I had to get the local councillor involved before some of the issues were resolved. Don’t waste your money. Better accommodation in surrounding area. I paid over £8k for a flat which wasn’t even worth £2k.
I’m currently staying in a studio room at this accommodation and it is quite convenient because it is right next to Aston university. The staff and management are also very friendly and always ready to help. They also make sure to organise events with free food available. The room is nice and comfortable but the windows do not open and there are no doors on the wardrobes. Overall it is a good accommodation but some issues still need to be resolved such as the heaters not heating up enough and the few problems mentioned above.
Most convenient place to live, for Aston students especially. 60 second walk to the main building. TOFS has a fantastic study area, good for exam season especially when the library can get quite packed. The social space is spacious with all the amenities you can expect. Also, the Student Roost staff are very approachable and friendly! They make a massive effort to make sure the residents are comfortable. There's 24 hour security as well, so there's always a point of contact even at night! Can't go wrong with these guys!
I've stayed here for 2 years now and I love it! Great receptionists who are always keen to help and a pleasant, clean and safe building to live in. Much better than campus accommodation plus the social space is really nice! Plenty of events are held in the social space - I've even had several free pamper days run by beauticians brought in. Ideal location as it's opposite Aston University and a 10 minute walk into the city centre including New Street station. I'll be looking to rebook this student accommodation again!
TOFS is a great student accommodation. The location is perfect; Aston campus is a 30 second walk, Aston library is also a 30 second walk and conveniently there's a Tesco opposite reception. The room is very spacious, comfortable and I would recommend a studio to those who like their own private space (There are a few flights of stairs that will tire you out but I just think of it as my daily exercise and call it a day). The staff are amazing. Easy to talk to and helpful when needed.
Didn't have a good experience with this accommodation, definitely think it's an overpriced accommodation and the Internet connection is horrible I understand they use a system that helps them run better but it's really bad and they send a couple of emails saying there were engineers coming to fix the WIFi but no one ever came. The gym is OK, and the social space is nice it's really good located and the staff are pretty attentive and the reception is almost always open.
1. Khalil, Jasmine and the rest of the staffs are friendly, welcoming and will help you get your concerns sorted ASAP. 2. Located just about 10 mins walk from the city (Bullring) 3. Aston University and BCU are 2-3 mins away. 4. The room is spacious with good ventilation. 5. Social space, gym & study room are available at your convenience. 6. Tesco is across the road. 7. 24 hours assistance available for the residents. Highly recommend TOFS for anyone considering :)
Not only is the location of TOFS great for students at Aston and other Birmingham universities, but the staff are super friendly and helpful. TOFS have a really nice social space with a pool table, a gym and a library, perfect for when the uni library gets too busy! You feel really safe and looked after here and with a tesco and greggs on the same street, you can't go wrong. I would highly recommend living here!
The Old Fire Station is a great place to live. Initially, my main reason for choosing this accommodation was the proximity to campus, as I'm in my final year and don't want to waste time travelling. However, TOFS and Student Roost have exceeded my expectations. The facilities are great, a free gym is a big plus and nothing is too much to ask when it comes to the staff in the office. Highly recommend living here
Currently staying here during my final year at Aston. Love being so close to university, and the accomodation itself is really nice. The team down in reception go the extra mile to look after us and put on social events throughout the year. My flat (bronze shared bathroom) is spacious so there's plenty of space in the kitchen/lounge to have friends over. Would highly recommend- best place I've lived in at uni!
Overall good accommodation - prime location close to Aston University - Tesco, Aldi, and other shops within walking distance - friendly and helpful staff - generally quiet and people don't disturb you - cozy and well-equipped rooms One downside for some people may be that there is little storage area in the rooms. Also, there are only 8 (I think) washing mashines/dryers shared between all the tenants.
NEW OWNERS. Just got 100% worse over night. Online account gone. Lost payment history. No way to create a new account. Birmingham number on website "unavailable". London number being looked after by one person who is only taking bookings and can't help. Lovely apartments but there is literally no management support, contact numbers or online activity. Try "Student Locks" apartments instead.
Today i cheked out from this accomodation it was lovely to stay here i really want to tahnks every one of the reception staff specially the maneger Teliza she was polite helpful and amazing person she helped us alot also she staied cooperate from the first day until the last day i were there , also i would say Micheal is a hard working person i want to thank him for his efforts and help.
This accommodation is great if you want a local accommodation next to Aston or surrounding universities. I found the building very peculiar and not very homely. There aren't any elevators, which would make the moving in process a nightmare. The large rooms are great, however there isn't much sunlight to the restriction of the opposite buildings. The workers there however are lovely.
Great staff Shaugna is an absolute cutie easy to get along with and can talk to her for hours. Ola Jasmine and Josh are just all so helpful, and always greet you whenever they see you. Such a lovely group of individuals. The location is very convenient literally at minute walk to Aston and a 10 min walk to bullring. friendly and safe environment. any issues are resolved immediately.
The Old Fire Station has been a great place to live in my final year at Aston - the location is great both for uni and for going into town. The staff are all really friendly and keep the accommodation well maintained. If you're looking for a place to live that's close to Aston among other Birmingham universities or close to the city centre then I'd highly recommend staying here.
The design of the accommodation is not outstanding as the building is dated. However, as there are limited choices around Birmingham this is easily overlooked. The location is unbeatable if you are a student of Aston/ BCU or surrounding universities, and since the student roost team have taken over the service is great. K, Ana, and Jasmin at the reception are super helpful.
I have loved living at the old fire station this year! The staff are always very friendly and willing to help you as much as they can. The flats have a lot of character and are much more "homely" than other student accommodation I have stayed in. The location is fantastic if you are an Aston/BCU student. I would thoroughly recommend the old fire station.
The best thing about this property is that it's just a 2-minute walk from Aston University. The staff are very friendly and will help you whenever you need help, and whenever you are worried about a problem. Apart from that Old fire station has its own library, gym and social club where you can hang out and meet new people.
Staff is incredibly friendly and always at your disposition in case of problems. Perfect area to live in as it is only a short walk from both the university and the city centre. Rooms and kitchen are quite spacious with an abundance of sunlight coming in. I will most definitely keep recommind this place in the future.
Great experience so far. I've not had any problems with noise or the lighting like other people say they have, in fact I can barely hear my neighbours at all. Just make sure you see your room before you book! There are definitely bad rooms in the building, but if you choose a nice one you'll be fine.
Very, very good staff and always help me patiently when I have problems. So lovelyYou can also pick up delivery at Reception. The transport is very convenient, Tesco is right across the street, the environment is very nice, the rooms are big and comfortable, very nice apartment! …
If Mat the manger wasnt their i would give 2 stars, he single handed made this the worst accomidtion in birmingham. Matiance are useless and the rooms are way overpriced for what you get. Many better options in Birmingham. Mat the mager does nothing , i dont know how he has a job.
Half the room's have no opening Windows, the vents connect the room's together. Expect second hand smoke waking you up when other students smoke in their rooms at night. The smoke can't be ventilated, as the Windows don't open and the doors are fire doors. Zero stars
I’m currently staying here and it’s really really good in terms of every aspect. More importantly for international students you get to have a home feeling. Kudos to your team! Keep up the good work. P.s shoutout to #Jasmine & #Nathan …
By far my worst student housing experience! Issues with the room like no AC in a room without windows & terrible mattresses that they refuse to change as well as other ongoing maintenance. Management shows no compassion. Some members of the
Half star for the bad experience. Won't recommend anyone to it. No night time check-in service. Never know what items are missing. Same temperature as outside. Lovely mice. Londonderry House is truly recommended or other accommodation.
Alicja has been very helpful whenever I've asked her for something and is ready to go the extra mile in order to provide a welcoming environment for myself and other residents. She's easy to chat with and has made me happy to be here.
Excellent accommodation with the most friendliest staff there is (Jasmin in particular). Convienient location with tesco right across the street, and just 10 minutes away from Bullring. Really glad to have chosen this place to stay!
Poor experience. Very expensive. Windows do not open. Ventilation broke and took 4 weeks to fix, causing damp and mould to grow in our flat. Very little compensation was promised and still has not been received even months later.
Just a review to comment on a fine smooth booking process with Khalil from Reception, very friendly service and informative and has secured me and my friends a brilliant deal for next year! A personal big thank you to Khalil!
Stayed here for a few months and it was great. The area was quiet and repairs to the room were done swiftly. The guys at reception were lovely too especially Blair. totally recommended for any students who need accommodation
Lovely student accommodation, came in just to enquire about the accommodations and a lovely lady on desk named Jasmin helped me with everything I needed information on great manners and very helpful! Highly recommended :)
Personal items and laptop ruined rom bathroom flood as the bathroom was clearly not finished being built, no refund or responsibility claimed by them. don't waist your money. trust theres better more affordable places.
For the price. Nah not good. Rooms not sound proof, very loud when room mates casually talking, door slamming is a major issue. Lighting is not comfortable. Storage is a problem. Cooking smells out the whole flat
I've lived at the Old Fire Station for 2 years of uni and have loved it. Great location, large modern flats and the staff are very friendly and super helpful especially Ola and Jasmine. Would defo recommend!
Bought some stationary in a emergency....staff was very helpful in what I wanted to purchase...wanted 100 items ended up only taking 35....price was a bit on the high side.. can get it cheaper elsewhere.
Great accommodation. So close to uni. Ola, Jasmine and Josh are always smiling and happy to help, even when I’ve locked myself out of my room! Shame I’m graduating this year - would’ve come back!
This place is wonderful ! I'm studying in Aston Uni and just moved from Edgbaston to here. It is very convenient, 10 mins to City Centre by walk and just 3 mins to my uni. Love this place ! :)
Great place to live honestly, great staff, good people and overall safe environment for the residence. Close the Aston university and Birmingham City University, so not a long walk at all.
Happy & satisfied! Staff are always happy to help and all inconveniences are sorted out quickly. Alicja and Khalil are supportive and helpful. Would likely recommend to family/friends.
I have been living here for a couple of months and I love the whole thing, especially the retro vibe social space! Love the experience and the memories that I’ve made in this place!
The heating facilities are awful. The flooring gathers dust very quickly and having no windows or AC makes it feel very suffocating. Only positive is it’s close to Aston University.
good location on campus, good distance from the city centre, really good service from baydon, khalil and jas, they're always helpful- 24/7 service!! the rooms are nice and spacious
Best accomodation with very excellent and friendly staff. No deposit required. Near to city centre. Good quality of rooms. Amazing social room with pool table and dinning area too.
Great student accommodation. The rooms are large and spacious with great views. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Also one of the closest to campus!
Currently living in a studio and I love it here! Tesco is also right opposite which is very convenient. The staff are also very welcoming and make it feel like home.
Very convenient for university, staff very friendly and supportive, lots of shops and supermarkets local and is in a good location, with great transportation links.
Felt really at home at the Student Roost. We had a great team who looked after me whilst I was away from my family and my home. Would totally recommend to anyone :)
Soo nice, staff are really friendly and eager to assist in challenges, overall nice accommodation with great location really close to the university for students
staying at the bandstand and its a good experience so far. had no problems as others said on their review. check to make sure that ur room has an opening window
The accommodation is at perfect location and offers flexible tenancy plans, helpful and friendly staff, neat and tidy rooms with all the required facilities.
I would recommend this place. When I went to view the flat I found the staff really friendly and helpful. Any concerns and Questions were promptly addressed.
Honestly the best people stay with , have helped me with so much and are very supportive , ive been here for 2 years now and plan to rebook in september.
It’s good. I live in a studio flat and Had problems with a storm. They were helpful in moving me to a new room within the same day. …
Friendly, useful and present staff. This place has really improved in the last two years. The views are really nice from the windows too.
Staff are nice, but the building have some water problems. There is no hot water for several times, and even no any water for one night.
Great place! Rooms are nice and staff are friendly and always ready to help. I definitely recommend this student accommodation.
DO NOT LIVE HERE! Mouldy rooms. No ventilation. Cant open windows. Countless issues. Only benefit is location. Very overpriced.
The best in Aston Uni campus , staff are amazing, Josh, Jazmin and many others make you feel like home. Highly recommended.
Great place to live, close to Aston and BCU campuses..as well as the city centre!! Staff are Amazing, funny and friendly!
It's a great location, very friendly staff the rooms as expected, although the phone signal is very bad in bandstand.
Student living in a 2 bed apartment. The rooms are so spacious and bright (!) compared to typical uni accommodation,
great place to live. really close to aston uni campus and tesco and greggs are just seconds away from the reception.
they are nice peoples, plus you get a good run or your money, one block doesn't have elevators but its not so bad
MICE MICE MICE MICE MICE !!!!!!!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! IT IS INFFESTED WITH MICE WHO GET INTO UR ROOM IN THE
Lived here for a year. Loved it, nice staff, beautiful common room and study room. The rooms were a bit small.
I didn't like it at all! Very old building and high prices! No lift! And some rooms were too suffocating :((
Great experience. The staff were hardworking, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend …
Amazing experience Soo far. The staff are really kind in answering queries and provide support 24*7.
The best accommodation in Birmingham. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are great and comfortable.
Very friendly staff, the rooms are really nice and spacious, good facilities and location.
Nice rooms, well maintained and with helpful friendly staff that are always available
Rats, silver fish, mould, management avoids problems, dirtiest accom I’ve ever seen.
They best place to stay !!! Very friendly receptionist; great company.
Staff are rarely helpful and always remember my name
