class of '12 and tried to transfer to CCA or Torrey Pines every chance I could, and was unfortunately waitlisted on an endless list every time. The academics are mediocre at best, and will hurt you if you want to get into better schools (I did, and while I did get into all of my top choice schools, it was very blatantly out of all the work I did on the side and my application essays, not from taking non-IB courses (CCHS doesn't offer IB courses....which is a bad thing) and having my gpa withered from a required, non-weighted, worthless religion course at 7 every morning. The sports are great, there's no question about that. The art/music/theater courses were pretty typical of any high school when I was there, but I think they've changed recently. My biggest problem with this school was how certain religion teachers would outright bully students who weren't Catholic. These [usually either atheist or Buddhist] students were always really quiet, didn't want to be in the class but did the work, and otherwise respectful and these certain teachers would taunt them, make fun of them, and otherwise straight-up verbally abuse some students. The one detention I got at this school was for standing up for a friend who was being bullied to tears by a teacher. I think that speaks more about Cathedral and what it was like to be a student there than any sport rankings, report cards, test scores, or fancy (actually pretty typical in California) campuses ever will.

Absolutely terrible. The students put you down, throw you under the bus, and make you feel like you mean nothing in this world. You can't state one opinion without getting an eye roll or a non incognito whisper from a group of people. The teachers don't teach. They assign unreasonable amounts of homework and give many tests. Now they are using an app called "Schoology." The app makes it easier for the teachers to put in grades, but makes it so much harder for the students to find their grades. They got rid of the Schola choir, so now the choir is terrible. They put more money into sports. The dresscode gets worse and worse, getting dress coded for skirts 1/2 inches too short. They stand outside the school gates stalking young girls' bodies and some of the people that dresscode are males. Very uncomfortable. The religion courses are pointless, and won't help you what so ever. They bully non Catholic students. Someone even committed suicide while attending this school. It's that bad. I don't recommend this school to anyone. It goes downhill every year.

Class of 2014 It has been said, "you don't know what you have until it's gone", I assure you I knew what I had when I attended CCHS, and I loved every second. I could go on for hours regarding the rigorous yet fulfilling education I received, the top-tier sport teams that brought me such pride, or the Drama program led by the incomparable Ms. Katie Wilson that rivals the performances of professional companies... Though, what truly changed and continue to change my life are the relationships I built with my teachers who supported and pushed me well beyond the limits I placed on myself as well as my friends who have always had my back.

My family has been part of CCHS or as it was formerly known as USDHS since the year it opened and my uncle was part of the very first Freshman class. Aside from the fact that it was four of the most enjoyable and fun years of my life, I learned a great deal as well. In college I used texts I had used in high school.Previwe reviewer is 100% off - attending CCHS actually helps your chance at college unlike other schools. Sending your kids to CCHS is one of the best choices you can make for their future.

Best School Ever...my son is a junior at Cathedral, the teachers and staff are amazing and truly want your kid to succeed! The sports teams are outstanding and he has developed life long friends. They give back and the kids learn to help others in need! Best ever experience!!!

Class of '09. First Class to go all 4 years through CCHS. It was unfortunate we were not allowed to drive to the highlands during our lunch break. It's all good, we are too pretentious to hang out with Torrey Pines.

Class of 2010. Great school. Great teachers. Great time. I still volunteer time to help out on media projects on my off time. If your a winner looking for a high school to make you better, go here.

My son loves it. Class of 2016. Very challenging and requires real effort. Teachers help out of class room when asked. Swim team is great. As a parent my only beef is the ipad use.

My daughter is a rising Senior and we have been very happy with CCHS. Excellent caring staff, teachers and counselors. Mrs. Billy and Learning Center are the BEST.

Love this school, my daughter is having a blast and lives going to school, it's worth every sacrifice we make to make it possible for her to attend.

My son loves it.... We drive 45 minutes each way to get the school and he has never complained. He absolutely loves this school... Thank you !

The best religious education and athletics I could possibly ask for both my boys. I'm so excited for the 2017-18 year.
