I came in today to settle a fine and renew my library card. From the moment I walked in the woman at the adult help desk, in the center of the library, was watching my every move even though there was a large group of people near the entrance. The only difference between me and the others was the color of my skin. I planned on perusing the new book section but I felt so uncomfortable being watched like a hawk so I decided to try to pay my fine, renew my card and leave quickly. Since there were no workers at the front entrance I asked the woman at the adult help desk if she could help me renew my library card. She snatched it out of my hand, rolled her eyes and said, "Only if you don't have fines." Once she found out I have fines she told me I'd need to go to customer service. I left the library feeling less than human. People of color know when they're being profiled or treated a certain way because of the color of their skin. I come to this library a lot but left feeing embarrassed and less than.

This is a really nice library! It's a combination of natural lighting and man-made lighting, it appears to be a very bright place. I walked in to get a library card for the first time and the library assistant was very energetic and very informative. Although, I knew that she had rehearsed her speech, she said it with energy and clarity and a smile in her face and tone. On a personal note, I fear that libraries will change due to the nature of the way that we receive information now. Even as I logged into one of their computers for the first time, they were offering free audio reading apps that could actually read audiobook versions that you could check out without even having to look through the library physically. For the sake of our future generations, I do hope that libraries continue to exist as they provide so much more than just the documented information of all human existence

Beautiful, large, convenient, and very friendly. Many free classes every week i.e. soapwebsmaking, artwork, and many others i just can't think of off hand. They also have children's reading groups all year long. Plus live tutoring for students and for those that make it in to the library, the have tutoring through their website. Which is a huge blessing for someone like myself with 2 teenagers being homeschooled whose homework is beyond me in a few subjects. One of me and my family members favorite section is a large area with lots of local info., snack and drink vending machines a large book section for purchase with prices that are dirt cheap. ♥The Library

I adore this library. It is a very large library with an extended young adult/teen and kids area. There is also homework rooms and a tutor center. They have an extensive collection and if Centennial Hills doesn’t carry it, you can request it from another location, they’ll let you know when it’s in and pick it up yourself! I love the automation of returning the books yourself and checking them out yourself. Just a word of warning... this is NOT a quiet library. During the day there are always screaming and crying children with their moms who are there for story time. After school, there are LOTS of teens and kids but they aren’t screaming and crying. ;)

Best library I've ever been to! They have a toddler section in a little nook. They have a quiet room. They have a tutoring room/ homeschool help center. They have a HUGE adult section. Dozens of computers. They have a story time room. You can actually sign up to read a story in the room for your children and others who want to join. They have puzzles and crafts and summer programs for reading. Giant books. Huge collection of CDs for reading along. Copy room. Vending machine room. Adult only computer lab. Books for kids and adults in Spanish. Great lighting for taking selfies. I have never been so impressed. 10 stars for a public family library.

This is a very large library and I was thrilled to finally get access to it after all the years of living in Henderson and not being allowed a Las Vegas Library card. I am glad things have changed. I took part in a beginner's 3D printing class and the instructors were more than friendly and able to answer any questions any of us put to them. I am glad to see this new technology being taught in our libraries for free and was amazed that half of the students were actually senior citizens or at least 50 plus like myself. I can't wait to get my print back and enroll in more classes and utilize this library's resources even further.

Borderline scamming people who work there. I’ve returned books on Sunday, they refused to accept them at the front desk, claiming their scanner drop off box is out of service. I had to go outside to the drop off boxes to turn in the 8 books. That was 11/08. Today, 11/11 I see the all books I already dropped off on my account as overdue and that I need to pay fee AND return the books. I have no books - library has them already since Sunday- and now they want me to pay for them. I called just to be laughed and told I “need to learn better English”. That was last time I’ve gone there. Scammers and fraud.

If you want to use the computer, you’re encouraged to make a reservation using the library’s website since there’s a limited amount of computers due to COVID-19. When I walked into the lab, pixie glass was installed in between stations and everyone has to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. The staff would come in and sanitize the station after each use. Everyone greeted me with a smile. The library is cleaned and organized. It’s nice and the library is twenty minutes away from my house.

I always like going to the Centennial Hills Library. When they reopened after being closed for so long, I was very pleased. They always have a great selection of materials. But it is still quiet inside on account of the virus. I must say that I feel for the staff, as they have to work extra hard because of it. Anytime you touch a book, you can not put it back on the shelf. They want you to place it on a cart at the end of the aisle so it can be sterilized and returned by the staff.

All the seats in the library are taken due to Covid, and the homeless. The only place for me to sit was at the children's computer table which didn't have a single person sitting there. Not one. Adults are also not allowed to sit in the children's reading area if you don't have a minor child with you. I was 'asked' to move to the noisy vending machine area because a child Might want to use a computer. A little common sense would be appropriate, and appreciated.

This library is laid out in a way that is easy to use and find things. For the most part, staff are friendly and seem glad to help with any request. When I request a hold on a book from another location, they get it and stack it quickly. Recently they added a rack for people to trade jigsaw puzzles - no checkout required, a nice addition. My only suggestion is to add another computer or 2 for searches. There appear to be only 2 and they are often in use.

It’s a nice library. Hoping to have more activities post covid. We recently moved here and the front desk attendant made it easy to get a library card and she briefly told us the highlight of the library. I wish this library was more kid friendly like we had in Arizona. like a reading corner with kid sized things or coloring station would be nice while I hunt for books. The kids book selection was a bit overwhelming for us

  • Sherry Lockhart Hicks

It's a cozy library. Areas for adults, teens and young kids. Homework help area, computer work stations and learning areas. Calendar is full of family fun events. Small book store. Meeting Areas. Easy to get in and out of. Not the biggest selection of books but enough resources for family and reading engagement for kids. Come check it out and take a look at their calendar.

  • Michael Mitchell

This place is amazing. The kids love the story time and that is when I get to use the quiet room. Along with the homework help and adult computer room there is something here for everyone. They also have plenty of computers that you are able to use along with a huge selection of books. What makes this place perfect is that it is an environmentally friendly building.

Security and staff are prejudice towards people i have had nothing but problems for years at this library. I got attacked outside library by a homless patron and they said i was at fault even though thier cameras didnt work they took the word of a homless patron and i ended up in hospital. I should have sued them but i just decided to never go back as i never will.

  • Kristin Davis

The ladies at the customer service desk were very friendly and quickly got me set up with my new library card. Came back a few days later to print some DMV forms because I don't have my printer unpacked yet. It was very easy to do and the woman in the computer lab was helpful in explaining it all to me. Kind of wish I needed to go into the library more often...

  • sandra demers

Why is the security guard the old slender tall one pass all the time at the computer room, looking for what ??? I started to suspect that he is a serial killer. I almost think that I have the feeling that I am being harassed and I am almost calling the police on him to report his suspicious behavior....................!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dyana Garrison

Very nice quite and resourceful. Im a recent transplant and wanted to bring my nephews somewhere to get them reading. They have agreat section for kids that's separate from the adult stuff. Plenty of ppl around to help find what your looking for. Books, dvds, cds... etc. Setting up my library card took less than 5 mins. Going back.

  • Daniel Sherer

Excellent branch library, great lighting and thousands of items available for check-out. Since they are part of the Clark county library, you can also request materials from any other branch and pick them up here! They also have many activities and special events. I especially like the book sales (which also sell DVD's and BD's)

  • Abby Leigh

Story time has always been a wonderful experience at this location. But several weeks ago I returned several children's books and magazines the same day to the same outside drop off bin, but the magazines were never checked in. So I would just be cautious when you return items-I recommend checking them in yourself.

This is the best library I have ever been too. I've spent hours sitting and reading, and their homework help center is one of the better ones. The staff is kind and helpful (and I ask for a lot) the understand what books I like and can help me find more like it, and I like that about them. I 100% recommend!

  • Peter N Reynolds

I had never been to this branch of the Clark County Library System. I was completely impressed with the genuine willingness to be of service to the patrons ; consequently, I requested the library's comment form to formally acknowledge her assistance. What a pleasure to share this information with you.

My kids love this library! They have a huge section of kids books and dvds. They sometimes label sections that make it very helpful. They also have a cute corner with toys and a play kitchen for kids to play. The building is very clean and spacious. The staff has always been very kind.

  • Valerie Wolow

The Library is loud and noisy with kids running all over the library. I have homework to do which is impossible to do in this library. The employees or "librarians" at this library are snobs or have a stuck up attitude. The only reason I come to this library is because I live close by.

  • Sona Harris

Very nice, clean library, fully equipped with meeting rooms, a cafe, space for laptops, charging stations... all staff are very nice, polite, friendly and helpful. This library is home for many family’s, reading, researching, learning, attending classes and events.

  • Thomas Stewart

Parents allowing their kids to run around uncontrollable, screaming their heads off. While other people are trying to study and get their work done. And of course the library staff is not their babysitters so they don’t do anything about it. It’s awful.

  • Min Foo

Clean and quiet. Old timers like me will like free books and papers. Lots of computer for kids and electric outlets too. They have a story time for kids in AM it can get a little loud when they come in but glad to see kids in library!

  • Andrew Scafidi

We use this library a lot. The staff is very helpful and patient with my children who are looking for books. They show how to search for book. Today a Liberian even went to the warehouse to retrieve a book! Great customer service.

  • Nimratdip Deo

GREAT AND AMAZING! finally found something near my house where I can actually study rather than going all the way to UNLV. I just wish they stayed open till 9 at least. JUST ONE MORE HOUR!!! (:

  • Michael Lewis

It's a nice quiet spot! The chairs are a bit limited, and the 'teen area' seems way to big, but other than that, It's a good library, good spot, nice vibe and people, and love studying here!

  • Grace B

Lately, it is way too loud in there one cannot concentrate on reading or doing any assignments!! Staff won’t do anything about the noise. Kids literally running from corner to corner!
