Order stuffed up again! My friend and I ordered a Pad se ew, Penang curry and Coconut Rice through Uber Eats. The bag arrived stapled and untouched but with no Coconut Rice. Called the stored and was told someone would call us back which they did but gave no solution so would call back again. They never called back. We eventually called them again to then be told we should make a complaint with Uber. They accepted no responsibility and worse it took 2hrs for them to tell us to have it refunded through Uber because “they” must have missed the bag. Chai Thai can I suggest if you think Uber is the problem you should write 1 of 2 of the receipt so they know how many bags to deliver. This is not the first time Chai Thai have stuff up our order and we’ve ordered through them directly. Very disappointing customer service. We will no longer be ordering from you.

  • The Whole Truth Reviews

Really enjoyed our food from Chai Thai, it’s was authentic Thai street food, the meat was a good quality and the stir fry had a decent amount of veggies in (5 stars for the food). Our bill came to $35 for the two of us for dinner, so good value for money also. The staff where quick to seat us, take our order and the food was with us within 10 mins. If you are after a quick meal when you can’t be bothered to cook and clean up, Chai Thai is the place. If however, you are on a date or going out for a romantic meal, this probably isn’t the right spot, as the restaurant is small and it is very busy with food delivery drivers. If the management could create a different entrance for the delivery drivers or even a system whereby the staff take the food out of the restaurant to the drivers they could solve this issue, which is the only negative.

This is our favourite local restaurant to eat in or to get a delivery from. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. We are especially impressed by the freshness of the vegetables used and they are never overcooked! Our favourites are in the stirfry section but we also highly recommend pad Thai. Our favourite entrees are vegetarian spring rolls and vegetarian curry puffs. Deliveries are always on time and the food arrives hot. all the staff are very pleasant and it is very easy to order online directly through The Restaurant.

Good value Thai for a quick unplanned meal. Not bad, not amazing. We dined in which was nice enough for expectation. However, there were that many food delivery providers coming in and standing around that it got a bit crowded. I am talking about 4 on average at any given time. This place is certainly more interested in their takeaway business. When we asked for them to stamp a loyalty card they advised it was only for takeaway orders. Seems a little disappointing and strange, a bit of a lost opportunity for retaining business from neighbouring residence, particularly in this area in my opinion.

Vegans beware. I’ve ordered here twice, the meals were not vegan both times. The last time I ordered I rang before to check and they still couldn’t get it right. Chai Thai - just take the vegan options off the menu and stop deceiving people. Won’t be back again and would encourage any other fellow vegetarians or vegans to go elsewhere.

They are very deceiving. They say they do vegan stuff but I’ve ordered twice and meals have not been vegan (visible egg in the meal). Avoid at all costs.

Second time ordering family pack, we have got from here before. First time amazing apart from red curry !! Second time swapped to massaman curry and the pad Thai was a let down. Everything else really good, and they also threw in chocolate, didn't go to plan as it was ontop of hot food and arrived melted But still really nice gesture. Will be getting from here again. Just maybe more liquid in the pad Thai for the noodles. Good food needs better consistency, but they will show above what they need to and it's lovely. Good job even if it is just a chocolate bar. It's more than others.

Have ordered from this restaurant for the past 5 or 6 years and have never ever been disappointed in anything the pad Thai noodles the southern fried chicken. The roti bread with satay sauce and so much more is absolutely beautiful. Can’t say enough about this restaurant. Thank you for making my tummy sing.

Have been a regular here for 3 years now and unfortunately had a few hit and misses. The latest one is a change in ingredients (I always order the same thing) which I can totally understand due to supply issues at the moment but it would have been good to know. I can’t eat beans and this Thai restaurant has never put them in their red curry until now. Apparently there must be no zucchini around, but there is a crapload of beans available. Separated them for photo purposes - won’t be eating.

The food was really underwhelming, which surprised me because I last ate here in 2018 and it was pretty good. Either the management or the head chef has changed in that time. Ordered a chicken spicy fried rice (not even remotely spicy), Pad Thai (bang average) and a chili basil chicken stir fry (dunno what it was, definitely not chili basil). Moreover, they put carrot in everything unlike other Thai places which was a real turn off for me. The only positives were the quantity was decent and it wasn't overpriced, but I won't be returning any time soon.

Rating only the uber eats take away Pro: - Majority of items are fantastic in taste and interesting. - Large variety of options - Very quick to prepare the food Con: - nothing. Pricing: - edging towards the steep side. The quality isn't bad, but it isn't remarkable. By quality I mean the quality of ingredients, it still tastes incredible. So the price for the quality is not super. But the quantity you receive is fantastic so it does make it for it. Personally can recommend the family pack, particular the Roti with peanut sauce and chicken skewers.

If there was a score rating lower than zero stars. Then Chai Thai takes the gong. I am actually a regular customer for over 10 years and I have to comment bc the food overall is rubbish and I’m out. Quality of food - bin level freshness Attention to detail (burn bits all the time) like the bits off cleaning the bbq. Vegetables? (3 only) zucchs, carrot, Choi - that’s it. Maybe onion at a stretch. Chicken satay? - you might as well eat the kebab stick it comes on. The only thing consistent is the high price for less than poor food. Sorry.

Ordered Pad se ew.... one the sauce was completely off and the noodles all just fell apart. And left a burnt taste in my mouth I also asked for fresh chilli and chopstick and that wasn’t given. I order the prawn dumplings also to have them served drowned in some type of soy sauce which ruined the dumplings. So I didn’t even eat them. Coming from a Thai person I most likely won’t order from here again. I suppose it might be okay for people that don’t know how proper Thai food should taste. And have only had white washed Thai Food....

Ordered via ubereats and the order was cancelled by uber which was a shame. Called the restaurant though and the person on the phone was very helpful and was happy to hold on to the order until I was able to pick it up. So glad I was able to pick it up because everything was delicious! Got the Chu Chee Barramundi Curry and it was so wonderful, also the Green Chicken Curry was really good. Overall I really enjoyed the food and everything was really nicely packed too Great job Chai Thai

Ordered the pineapple fried rice with crispy pork and it was the best thing I'd had in very long time. The great balance of sweetness from the pineapple and the nuttiness of the cashews really made the experience sensational. The texture if the rice was perfect and wasn't oily at all. The best thing was the friendly staff. I highly recommend this place!

I absolutely love their Pad Thai but as we now only live up the road I don't want to have to order through uber eats or deliveroo to get a takeaway. They also don't do a pickup option on Uber eats. Unfortunately, every time I call it says the number is disconnected or I just sit and it rings forever or it just goes to message bank. This has happened on multiple occasions now, because of this, I have gone elsewhere.

  • Bill “Brizbill” Simon

Cosy Thai eatery serving up some seriously yummy food. Cosy means that there's space for only 16 diners, but seating can be configured to your needs. Fast, friendly service also geared to quickly turning over the takeaway orders but not too rushed for those dining in. Try the Ton Kha which is bursts full of flavour as well as the Thai take on the Laksa which is milder than the standard Singapore/Malaysian offering.

  • Denise

Ordered the cashew nut stir fry with prawns. Small portion and it was only carrots with onions and some broccoli and spring onion. Lacking variety of vegetables and whilst it was quite flavoursome, it’s not value for money nor did I want a carrot stir fry. Won’t be going back.

I only buy takeaway food and it's usually two entre's. My favorites are prawn dumplings in black sauce with herbs and also the satay chicken sticks in peanut sauce. Priced at $7.50 each, they are affordable even on a low income. I have never had bad service or mixed up orders from the smiling attentive staff. The food is always fresh, properly cooked and packaged every time. Well done Chai Thai!!

  • Travel Bug

Absolutely disappointed. Used to be my favourite go-to Thai place. Sadly won’t be going back. Had pad Thai which was flavourless and disgusting. No vegetables, lime or taste. Entree was tofu and satay sauce. The Sayce was NOT even closed to satay and the tofu was rock hard. Asked for fresh chilli on the side and eve that was disappointing. A baby could have eaten it as it wasn’t spicy at all

  • Cello Georgouras

Ordered food from UberEats from here last night. The fried food was oily, soggy and smelt bad and the prawn Pad Thai made me violently ill. DO NOT order from this place there are plenty of much better Thai restaurants in the area that won’t half kill you to eat at.

Excellent food, delivered fast with very nice staff. Ordered noodles, dessert and a drink. The driver was very nice and the food was fresh, hot and served in a large portion. I even called up to see if I could get a tax invoice to expense for work purposes and they instantly sent a copy to me. So impressed! Would definitely recommend!!!

  • Aurelien Ducos

The worst yellow curry I have ever had! I have ordered two mild curry and it was so spicy that we could not taste anything but the chili. We eat yellow curry from other Thai restaurants very often and it is always very nice. The cutlery were also missing.. Paid $38 to only keep the rice!! I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

  • Abhinav Padman

Ordered spicy fried rice via Uber eats. Was delivered well on time and hot. However the fried rice was not at all spicy in fact it had a mild sweetness. Was really disappointed with the taste factor and authenticity of Thai food... I would prefer and recommend 'Phat Elephant' Thai restaurant for better Thai food.

  • Ember Hofferts

After reading these reviews I’m glad they cancelled my ubereats order now. Seems the food is pretty average. However in the future for other customers it would be great to either a) not accept the order if you’re too busy to complete it or b) don’t wait half an hour before cancelling it and waste peoples time.

  • Savana White

This place should have a much higher rating! I've sampled various dishes off their menu and have been extremely satisfied. Cashew Nut Chicken 10/10, and a very generous serving of meat in the Beef Massaman. If you have enjoyed a meal from here I encourage you to leave a review and support this small buisness.

I wished to eat a delicious tom yum soup tonight but I got a sweet sugar water instead. The most disgusting thing I have ever ordered on uber eats. Also, it was quate expensive one, for 2 soups I paid $55 with delivery and most of it finish in rubbish. I should have checked the google review before...

Avoid, avoid avoid. Small portion sizes with everything drowned in soy sauce and no other flavours. There was absolutely no spice in the chili and basil stir fry and two basil leaves in the whole dish.

I'm pretty picky with food quality. While this isn't Michelin Star stuff, I'm not sure why there are quite a few negative reviews. I've ordered a few times now and have been happy. Laksa noodle and green curry did the trick. Fast and easy dinner.

Regularly Order from Chai Thai since November 2019 and have never had a meal be less than excellent. Fast, well priced and generous servings. Really tasty Panang and Green Curry and if the fish cakes havent already sold out when you do order count your lucky stars, they're delicious.

  • Adam Bowen

Worst Thai I’ve ever had. I hate writing bad reviews for businesses. But don’t bother. I knew I was in trouble when I walked in to get our order a see rice being reheated in microwave, then seeing canned curry paste. Please learn how braised curries are meant to be cooked. Terrible

  • Rosina Krammer

If your vegetarian don’t bother The tofu is deep fried. Noodles and rice greasy. I picked up take away order and once home found had a meat dish. They delivered out correct order 30 min later. Rotis were under cooked and soggy Spent $55 Such a disappointment. Straight up GROSS!!!

  • Callum Murry

Every single time I order from here the food is on point! My mum came to visit from Coffs Harbour and we ordered take away and she said it’s the best Thai she had ever had. The only thing I could critique is they use really thin noodles for pad Thai, they need to be thicker.

  • stuart fraser

I made a large order. When I got home I discovered they forgot to include pad Thai and chicken skewers. I quickly returned and they accused me of lying. They refused to correct the order. Really disappointed, won’t be ordering from them again. Plenty of Thai on Merthyr Rd.

  • Jamin Piggo

Really good quality and delicious Thai, a real gem of a restaurant. Appear to do a very big trade with Uber eats from all the cyclists waiting. Have always been really happy with the food, taste and quality. The sizes are generous too. Great restaurant.

  • Axiomsense Productions

Absolutely brilliant, ordered via Ubereats for the first time tonight, prices are reasonable, dinner for two plus a serve of chicken satay, was amazing. On arrival, all meals were hot and in handy containers. Definitely worth six stars * * * * * *

A local favourite for years. I ordered my go to green curry recently and it was absolutely terrible, inedible. It tasted old and off, the vegetables looked days old. A shame for what was once a fantastic local takeaway joint.
