Please read, this is my first review ever, my experience was just so horrible I can't keep it to myself. Keep in mind I am very easy to please and I never make a fuss about bad service. Mom got me a $125 gift card for xmas-2 weeks before my due date. She wanted me to get my hair and nails done so I'd feel beautiful and relaxed during/after labour.. I've never felt more ugly and embarrassed about how I look. I brought 3 pictures to show the stylist what I wanted and made sure to say "don't do x, I hate x", well I got exactly what I told her NOT to do. Way shorter than I wanted, choppy and blunt. Ever see a barbies haircut done by a 6 year old? Enough said. The esthetican seemed very uncomfortable the entire time. She had me sit on a massage chair and pulled out a box of 10 or so old polishes to choose from. The room was dirty, hair everywhere. She cut my toe nails so short it was painful, she also cut them as far down the sides as she could so I now have ingrown toe nails to look forward to. The paint job was awful and I was fighting tears the whole time, I told her Id have to get the manicure another day. It took 1.5 hours to get just my toes done and I had to sit there for 30 mins before they were "dry" and I could leave (they got ruined the second they were touched because the Polish was so thick).. I can't look in the mirror without crying, I feel horrible my mom wasted her money and I still have to find somewhere to get it fixed. I did not see the woman everyone recommended but it seems like she's the only good thing about this place. PLEASE do not go here.

I went there to get silver hair and I showed a picture properly explain what I wanted. Hairdresser agreed on a shade in their book. Once done my hair was bleached blonde with cold undertones. My hair was blonde and I had specified that I didn't want any blond in silver I want a solid dark Silver. I called the manager the following day and they said thought they would redo it free of charge which is amazing. I went back the next day and got a different girl that the manager recommended. We went through the same thing I thought we were on the same page again the manager even took part in deciding the shade and colour and everything was good. When my hair was done it was a dark plum colour. She said after 3 for washes it would fade into silver. I was not happy that she did not advise me that I would have purple hair for at least a week. I personally hate purple and it does not look professional in a business casual environment that I work in. It's over 2 weeks later and my roots are now red... I went there twice once to fix the mistake they made and both times I came out with colours that were not even close to what I wanted. $200 wasted.

I went here hoping to save a couple bucks compared to my usual place and still didnt get what I paid for. I had shown a picture of my OWN hair from a year before, and it turned out nothing like what I had explained or shown. During the haircut, the hairdresser CUT OPEN MY EAR, I was already halfway through and the option to leave was gone, so I sat with blood pooling in my ears until it was over. Extremely obvious patch around my ears is shorter than the rest, I’d be willing to forgive and forget if the haircut was at least good. When I got to the cash I was ready to not tip at all, to my surprise, the lady asked me out loud “how much would you like to tip,” with the hairdresser 5 feet away. I don’t think I should’ve paid for the haircut ast all let alone tip Edward Scissorhands.

I've been going to Charisma since I can remember. It was okay. The last time I went, Vicky ruined my hair. It turned grey! I mean really grey. I had blonde hair and wanted to add some low lights for fall. I always book extra time since I have a lot of hair. But I feel like they over book clients for more $$$... she put me under the dryer with toner on (first time for that) but left me under there for 35 mins while she was with another client. My hair was ruined.. I thought it would wash out to be better but it didn't. I went back in to get it fixed by another hair stylist. It was a bit better but still a disaster. I called the owner after a week hoping it would wash out. She was rude and unhelpful and wouldn't return my calls. Worst experience ever. AVOID.

A couple months ago I made an appointment for me and my mom for a haircut. We got our haircut and went home and after a couple days we realize we had an itchy scalp and a tickling feeling and we find out we both have lice and eggs in our hair. I was absolutely furious, I can not believe they did not clean there brushes and scissors and specially during covid and even better I called them and wanted to speak to the manager and I told them the situation and they never even called back no refunds no apologize no nothing. What a horrible experience. I had to spend 60$ worth of treatments for me and my mom and an itchy scalp for a couple of weeks. Horrible service, I will never step foot in there again.

Unfortunately my experience here was not good at all. They were able to take my daughter and I as walk-ins, however the stylist I had cut my neck, then denied that she did and brush it off when I flinched and verbally said “ouch!” The scars on my neck have to fully healed yet. My daughter went in to simply get her hair curled for a wedding we were going to that day, and although repeatedly showing reference and just asking for her hair to be led frown and just curled, her stylist kept dismissing her request, and saying “no it’s a wedding, this will be better”. When we got home she took the upcoming down and had her sister redo it. Sadly this was not worth the money for the service.

I went to this salon for highlights, cut and style and I was very unhappy with the results and the overall service. The highlights were not close to the scalp and brassy, and my cut was uneven. I was a client of Ambrida for several years and walked by to see they had closed and thought the staff was working at Charisma which is why I went there. They told me they could take me right away, but I waited over half an hour with no apology. Thankfully, I found the Ambrida stylists working right beside the mall at Synergy Salon & Spa so I went there and had my hair fixed. I will not be going to Charisma again and do not recommend them.

The lady who cut my hair kept referring to me as 'baby'; not sure why she felt that was appropriate. Regardless, the main issues remains the fact that it was just an unnecessarily painful haircut, as if she had somewhere else to be. It felt like she was ripping my hair out with the thinning scissors. She also blamed the fact that she cut a mole near my neck hair line as me having a 'rash'? Sorry lady, I think I would know if I had a rash. She insisted that it was, in fact, a rash, and not just a mistake on her part. The bleeding has yet to subside for 14 hours now. Haircut itself was fine, I guess...?

I have never got my hair done professionally before. My grandmother recommended me to come here. They always do her hair so beautifully. I was scared because of how long and thick my hair is. I recommend coming here for sure. Cheryl is the hairdresser I had and she is amazing. Super funny and knows how to keep up good conversations. The rest of the hairdressers were also super nice and outgoing. I loved the energy. She did and amazing job on my hair. Did highlights, fixed up my bangs and trimmed my hair. Nicely styled it as well. My hair feels so soft. I will definitely be coming back.

I have been going to Charisma for years. Dianne is a colour master in my opinion and I have finally found a stylist who will listen and not cut too much off my tricky, curly hair. The receptionists are lovely and very accomodating, even for last minute things. When my mom visits Ottawa even she makes an appointment with Diane. it is important though that you are patient because Diane is usually very busy all at once and you may have to wait longer than you want. A colour and cut costs me 100$ less than it did at Ezcape Spa....that is significant! Yeah Charisma!

I went for a haircut yesterday and I showed the stylist a picture of the type of haircut I want. Initially I said I didn’t want layers and want it straight in the back. So I showed her physically how much I want off and she completely ignored that and went right in with a razor and cut my hair shoulder level (which is way too short for me, I NEVER like it that short). i wish she would have communicated with me first to let me know how short it would get if I want it completely straight so I could rethink my decision, but no she was too hasty!!

Well. The only reason I came here was for Isagani, who transferred here from another location. He's cut my hair for a good 3-4yrs. Liked his cuts. He also starting cutting both my son's hair. Recently I went in to have both my boys haircut done. He wasn't there. Another co-worker did the cut. It was horrible. After asking her to fix it multiple times, I gave up. Fyi my son was co-operating perfectly. The only reason it got a 2 * was because of last good experiences with Isagani. Good thing I went and got my haircut somewhere else.

My 13 year old daughter left this salon sobbing. After having Lisa shame her for the thickness and oiliness of her hair, she completely butchered it. She asked for layers and subtle highlights and was given a blunt cut and literally bleached white highlights. My daughters naturally VERY curly hair was then brushed and blow dried and left looking like an actual lions mane. I’m not a professional but even I know that you don’t brush tight curls. 300.00 dollars later my daughter left sobbing and traumatized.

HORRIBLE SALON!!! . They charged me 120$ for extremely short hair. Just colour. They did not cover my grandmas grey hair. Extremely disappointed. Hair colour was still on my grandmas face when she left the salon. They don’t care Not the same colour as we asked. They don’t care about their clients at all. They said it was 80$ plus tax. That doesn’t come to 120$. That’s what they charged me Horrible salon. Horrible staff. I WOULX PAY FIR PEOPLE NOT NOT NOT TO GO THERE. No way.

This was my first time at this salon. My usual hair salon was fully booked so I called Charisma and got a same day appointment for a hair cut. Price was fair, it cost me 50.00$ for a wash, cut, blow-dry for long hair. My stylist's name was Isagani. He was very personable and asked me lots of questions about myself. He was a tiny bit rough with the brush but in his defense, my hair had alot of knots/tangles. The cut turned out really nice. I would return to see him again!

They dyed my hair red and it hardly lasted 1 week. The manager is an asswhole. She kept telling my girlfriend (receptionist) to leave early. And then she fired her. She only wants to make profit and that's why she fired her. Don't waste your time at this place. Staff are good and Diane (the manager) only cares about your money. Don't waste your time with someone extremely rude and 2 face, racist Cauz she doesn't want to have black clients, and disrespectful.

The manager and receptionist are extremely rude. The Manager only cares about profit and not the customers. She tried to tell me my daughter's haircut ($30 and she's only 11) does not include washing but the stylist told me it does. When I had to pay she told me the washing was not included completely lying. Not sure why they would tell me that. The stylists were very kind and they deserve much better! NEVER going back!!!!!

My daughter and I both got cuts and style with different stylists. We were both very pleased with our fresh stylish new look. Right from the time we stepped in we were treated professionally and courteously with very short wait times. While this is my daughter's regular go to place and with stylist Vicki this was my first time there. I will be making this my go to place from here on. Thank you for a lovely experience.

This was a last minute decision to get a cut because my regular salon did not have availability so I called them! They were very nice, followed the social distancing protocols,took temperatures and gave questionnaires; I felt safe. I had the lovely lady Vicky cut my hair and I must say I am very happy! Price was a little on the pricey side but not astronomical. I will go back again if my normal salon is not available.

Haircut was nothing like the photo I showed, way too much taken off, basically a super short pixie now, but awful. Back was said to be shaved "a bit" to fix a cowlick, but it was much more and looks ridiculous. Pressured to tip at the cash for service I didn't even really like, as they verbally ask you instead of it being on the machine. Going to have to go to Friendly Cuts on Merivale to hopefully salvage my head.

Had the absolute worst haircut of my life here recently. Been several times before, always at best mediocre results but location is convenient and price agreeable. Inexcusably horrifying experience this time, guess I will have to invest in a hat or try to get another salon/shop to fix this mess but it may not be salvageable at this point. I would avoid this place entirely if you care about your appearance

Went there with my 3 year old and ask for a hair cut to only to cut it so it would come up to her shoulders!!! She cut so much of her hair off it's now under her ears and it's sooo unven she did this in 3 minutes time & done! Will never be going again! With all the other reviews I see on this , this place should close the doors!!!

I went got a hair cut it was not what I wanted after straightening my hair it was uneven then went back couple days later to get it fixed hoping for a nicer hair cut that I asked for. She cut about two inches even shorter and it's still not even. She told me the hair cut I wanted was hard. I wanted an inverted bob.

I went here to get a short on the side hair cut but long in the front, the woman who did my hair was terrible! She cut it so short, she cut off my hilights when I specifically said not to touch them, she made mean comments about my hair! And I hate this experience, my hair looks terrible, never ever go here! AVOID!

Today was my first experience with Charisma Salon. We didn't have an appointment, but they were able to take my daughter for a cut. All the staff members we interacted with were very friendly, and the gentleman who cut my daughter's hair was wonderful! Very pleased with our experience. Hair looks great!

The staff had my daughter in a chair before I could ask the price. They cut 2-3 inches off and it cost me $35.00 plus tip and that was without shampoo. She was in the chair for 5 minutes and I still had to cut some off the front when I got home because it was uneven. Too expensive. I will never return

So. I put five starts to you see my experiences their. I booked for a make up 2 weeks ago in person. When I arrived the make up lady said she can't do my make up bcoz she doesn't do dark skin, she doesn't have dark skin foundation. What kind of make up artist does That?? That's So RACISM TO ME,,,

Amand did a great job, even though I wandered in at 7:30pm asking for a cut and color with no appointment. Not only did they do it, they did it incredibly well and at a decent price. I'm very likely to be back, but this time I'll make an appointment, to make sure I get Amanda again.

Great men's haircuts by Nasigoni(apologies if that is spelt wrong). He always gives me a great stylish cut. I have really thick hair with a bit of a curl and a swirl in the top of my head. He manages to cut my hair so that it never sticks up, which most stylists can't manage to do.

I had my hair cut and colored by Lisa. She did a wonderful job. She was very meticulous and my cut was exactly what I asked for. She was also very friendly and easy to talk to. The receptionist and staff were also very friendly. Thank you. I will definitely be back. :)

A nice gentleman did my prom hair here. I had no idea what I wanted and he completely took care of me and had an entire vision for my type of hair. He has also done my hair trim and is such a lovely person to see. Always bright and showers you with compliments!

Stephanie does my grandma's hair. Every week she does a great job. The salon is clean and bright. The staff is extremely friendly and amazingly accommodating. It's always a treat to chat with the staff and leave Grandmas hair in their proffessional hands.

I have been going to Charisma for at least 7 years. I find them courteous, professional and excellent at their craft. I have never had an issue regarding cleanliness. Have found that if you treat people with respect, you receive respect. Just saying.....

I went in with my daughter for her preschool hair cut/design with Lisa and found her to be amazing with my teenager in terms of patience, listening to my girl amd working with her hair . She gave her a cut and highlight. Highly recommend her.

Possibly the worst salon in Orleans. Uneven haircut on each side, overpriced, and the staff is incredibly rude, and your calls are never returned. Wouldn't recommend at all. Your money is better spent someplace else.

Great first experience with a cut, balayage and style. Great blending and colour. I was also treated well by Isagani, who spent the time asking me about my preference and lifestyle. I would go back to see him.
