Being far away from our native place, we as parents would first think about our kids upbringing. We would want our kids to have a strong hold to their roots. The Balavihar program at CMDFW is the best base we can provide for them to have those roots... Both of our kids who are 10 and 11 are enrolled in that program for the past 5 years. Curriculum is in a way that the kids learn all the Ithihasas and Puranas gradually .... The teachers here are not working on a pay.... they all are volunteers who put in their valuable time and effort for this generation of kids to have a strong base of our cherishable Hindu culture.. Next question would be that how would these teachers know what to teach??? All of our teachers are trained and placed in the right classrooms by our Swami SarveshanandaJi to give the best to the kids... Under Swamiji’s guidance, these kids not only learn about the Sanathana Dharma in Balavihar curriculum , but also have the opportunity to attend classes such as : 1. Language classes ( Hindi, Telugu, Tamizh etc which differs for each session based on the availability of volunteers who are well versed in those) 2. Slokathon (in which they learn a complete compiliation of all sorts of Bhajans and shlokas including the 5 suktams which come under Vedic chanting) 3. Bhagavad Gita chanting ( in which they learn to chant and memorize the shlokas of Bhagavad Gita with proper pronunciation) It’s such a pleasure to see this generation of kids learning and chanting such with enthusiasm...And all that became possible for us through this CMDFW organization ... Apart from this they also have the opportunity to attend different camps all through the year..... We feel that as parents we should be the role model for our kids to learn those values and apply them in life. Chinmaya Mission is the place we go as a family to learn together. Not just focusing on kids betterment , But also to focus on our own self improvement and learning Vedanta.. We have different options to participate and learn like Jnana yajnas by Swamiji which are available online , sathsangs during Balavihar sessions by all Acharyas, Vedic chanting , learning Sanskrit and also Devi Groups... Our Board members are very friendly and always available to help out and guide anyone who walks in... They see to that this is a place for anyone and everyone from any background to come in and learn various aspects of our Hindu culture. We are very grateful to be part of this platform created by Swami Chinmayanda which is given to this generation unaltered by Swami Sarveshanda ji and other Acharyas in CMDFW. All said and done, what do we need for our kids to be, going through this program:::: “””TO BE HUMBLE , KIND AND GENTLE AND AS A GOOD HUMAN BEING as our Sanathana Dharma teaches...””” which we could see is being instilled in them from this young age itself on this platform.

My family has been a part of CMDFW for the last 20 years, this is a volunteer run organization with excellent programs for Hindus in the Dallas area. I have also been a part of registration team and have handled enrollments etc for many years, we have admitted a lot of families without any fees and the organization always prioritizes providing access to curious learners over their ability to make any type of monetary donations. The members if they can have a nominal donation for the family and benefit from excellent curriculum from grades KG - 12th and a lot of activities that help them understand and appreciate the Hindu culture and its scriptures. Swami Sarveshanandaji very knowledgeable in the Vedic Scriptures and conducts various Gyana Yagnas on various Scriptures and has a unique way of providing current day context and interpretation of the scriptures so the congregation is able to understand and internalize the teachings. Both my kids are part of the the excellent Balavihar program and I am proud to say that my kids are able to learn and chant the Vedic Rhymes because of the learning environment that is unique to CMDFW. Everything at CMDFW is planned, organized and run by Volunteers and as a part of that we cook, clean, play, chant, build, dance, sing :-) together. All the work is done in the name of noble service and as we say our Pledge every week during our respective sessions “We stand as one family bound to each other with love and respect. We serve as an army, courageous and disciplined, ever ready to fight against all low tendencies and false values within and without us. We live honestly the noble life of sacrifice and service producing more than what we consume and giving more than what we take. We seek the Lord’s grace to keep us on the path of virtue, courage and wisdom. May Thy grace and blessings fl ow through us to the world around us. We believe that the service of our country is the service of the Lord of Lords, and devotion to the people is the devotion to the Supreme Self. We know our responsibilities, give us the ability and courage to fulfill them. ” All of us CMDFW Volunteers, Board and Swamiji live and breath this pledge every day of our lives. I am proud and grateful to be part of CMDFW and the Chinmaya Family.

Chinmaya Mission has been part of our lives for 13 years and we feel blessed to be associated with such an esteemed organization. Our daughter graduated through the Balavihar program after 7 years and we truly believe that Balavihar prepared her to face the real world with such poise and dignity. Being a Balavihar teacher I can confidently say that every child needs a program like this growing up to keep them grounded and develop the values that they can practice throughout their lives. Swami Sarveshananda Ji has been a true inspiration for us who leads us on the path of spiritual journey through his priceless discourses about Bhagavad Gita, the great Upanishads and various other scriptures. Swamiji is so well versed in his knowledge about our scriptures and the Sravana Sadhana Series of classes Swamiji conducts are treasures that we can cherish all our lives. Swamiji works tirelessly on several programs that benefit the young adults such as CHYK and YEP programs. We are very grateful for Swamiji and feel fortunate to be part of the Chinmaya Mission living so far away from our motherland and cannot imagine life without the Mission. I truly recommend Balavihar and Chinmaya Mission to children of all ages starting at Pre-K to 12th grade, especially for high schoolers who will benefit from it to become mature, responsible, compassionate and caring individuals as they step into the real world. This is purely run by the dedicated volunteers which makes it a safe, healthy and happy environment for all ages. We must take complete advantage of this privilege given to us and resources we have available to us in the Dallas area that some of us missed out in our lives growing up back home.

We have been associated with CMDFW since 2014 and learning various scriptures and providing a healthy foundation to our kids to build their life through Balavihar programme. The classes, categorized by varying age groups, start and end with Sanskrit prayers. They include chanting, bhajans, stories of devotion and moral values, interactive discussions, and creative games. Conducted worldwide, the 90-minute classes are based on specially designed syllabus, with the aim of accomplishing the Balavihar rationale set by Swami Chinmayananda: -To inculcate in children and youth reverence and pride for our ancient culture, and give them a healthy foundation to build their life. -To provide an atmosphere of growth that is filled with physical discipline, healthy emotions and noble ideas. -To create self-confidence to be able to act and serve cheerfully with true affection. -To provide a vision that generates personal discipline and dynamic leadership. -To nurture their dormant faculties, so that the children can improve, cultivate and express their creative abilities and individuality. -To help our children and youth develop a healthy resistance against peer pressure and the temptations of ‘modern’ society. -To develop love for God and forge a lasting relationship with Him Swami Chinmayananda taught spirituality as the art of living, through jnana yoga (the Vedantic path of spiritual knowledge), he emphasized the balance of mind and heart, pointing out selfless work, study, and meditation as the cornerstones of spiritual practice. I strongly recommend this program for any family or individual who seeks to learn about hindu philosophy and culture.

Hari Om, My family is associated with Chinmaya Mission for over 15 years. The uniqueness here is the structured Balavihar curriculum for children and the adult satsangs. There is NO attempt to reinvent Hindu Shastra teachings. The student gets the message cultivating bhakti leading into a self inquiry parting self knowledge. Before moving to Dallas, we lived in a small town Beaumont, TX. During that time, the town did not have a Hindu temple. Under the able guidance of Pujya Guruji and many Chinmaya Mission Acharyas visiting our town from different centers accross the world and the dedicated efforts of local voluenteers, Chinmaya Shripati was inagurated in 2013. My family is blessed to have been able to host the visiting sadhus many times at our house which allowed us to have a deeper one-on-one dialouge with them to understand Pujya Swami Chinmayanandaji's vision in person. Being on the board & executive committee positions for many years, both my wife and I have observed one thing about Chinmaya Mission voluenteers: all of the team works for the same cause, ignoring the minor individual differences. I can say that the same is true for the Dallas chapter under the able leadership of Swami Sarveshnandaji. Looking back all of us strongly feel that the disciplined, structured approach of Chinmaya Mission has cultivated strong, positive values within us and has given us a higher purpose in life. We strongly recomend you to be a part of this organization to unfold your self journey.

I have been living in the DFW metroplex since 2004. Though I was a frequent visitor to the local temples, my knowledge of our scriptures was pretty basic. Around the time that my son was born in 2007 and my daughter in 2009, I was beginning to dabble in online searches for information about Sanaatana Dharma, Vedanta, etc. My family became associated with Chinmaya mission in 2014, when we moved to Southlake, TX. Both my kids are enrolled in the Balavihar program. It is very obvious to me that the kids are having a very enriching experience, while making new friends and learning a lot about our culture and roots. But it has been an absolute eye opener to us as parents too. Swami Sarveshanandaji, who heads the CMDFW, is not only an immense source of vedic knowledge, but is a pillar of support for every individual who walks through the doors of CMDFW. He is a huge inspiration to us, with his infectious smile, unassuming nature, and a calming influence even in the most troubled times. His humility and good nature permeates through the whole organization, and it is a pleasure to interact with all the lovely people, including parents, volunteers and office bearers. I think it has made me and will continue to make me a much better person, to be associated with Chinamaya mission. I would highly recommend everyone in the DFW area, to make use of this opportunity to grow spiritually and to inculcate good values to the younger generation!

Chinmaya Mission caters to all age groups, young kids, young adults and adults. This vision of Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda to provide wisdom of Vedanta to individuals from any background is provided through Balavihar classes for young kids grade K through 12 with a systematic syllabus provided for each grade with very interesting stories from our scriptures combined with fun activities in class for the young kids and to more subtler topics for the high schoolers. This wisdom is provided to young adults via weekly CHYK (Chinmaya Yuva Kendra) classes and an intense resident Youth Empowerment (YEP) program in summer conducted by our Swamiji, Swami Sarveshananda to prepare them to face the world with confidence and become positive contributors to the society and the adults get it through Jnyana Yagnas and Devi Group classes conducted by our Swamiji and Acharyas. This mission is totally run by volunteers (sevaks and sevikas) who play several roles in teaching, administration, food, decoration, AV maintenance, Organizing festivals/Poojas and temple maintenance etc. to name a few. My family and I have been associated with the Mission for 17 years and we love it. Our kids have graduated from here. It’s an opportunity given to us to grow spiritually.

Our family have been members of CMDFW since 2009. CMDFW is an inclusive, uplifting community run and supported by selfless and able volunteers under the knowledgeable guidance of acharyas and Swamiji. Resident acharya Swami Sarveshananda Saraswatiji with his adept knowledge of hindu scriptures along with his openness and engaging personality is easy to relate for all age groups. Both my children attend Balavihar classes. Balavihar for children of school going age , Youth empowerment program for young adults, Devi groups for mothers and adult women, adult satsangs and other classes offered are designed with curriculum and conducted in conducive environment to learn logic of sanatana dharma, Hindu culture and gain awareness of one's true potential. Children have fun at annual camps, lock-ins and picnic all the while learning to grow into responsible and contributing members of society. My husband and I are grateful for the opportunity to attend and enjoy the rewards from participating in spiritual retreats, camps, satsangs, classes and jnana Yajnas CMDFW offers. Highly recommend for all families and any one keen to learn about facts and logic of hinduism and vedanta.

Being associated with Chinmaya Mission since childhood in India and reconnecting with my Chinmaya family here in Dallas, USA at CMDFW, is truly a blessing from Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji. Swami SARVESHANANDA JI is the resident acharya here. Attending his satsangs, yagnas and study group has given me clarity about what our sriptures expound. His simplicity and humility invokes "Love all Serve all", message. I am very grateful to swamiji for being our GURU. This is a great and revered platform where in children (Balvihar, family camps etc.); Youth (Youth Empowerment program, Yuva Kendra programs etc.) ; Adults (Satsangs, Gyan Yagnas, Study groups etc.) come together to learn about Sanathana Dharma and Spirituality. Balvihar is the very core of Chinmaya mission wherein children are taught right values and are introduced to Hinduism in a very loving and fun-filled way. CMDFW works exclusively by dedicated, selfless volunteers___whether as teachers, as sevaks or as board members. They serve as an army bound with Love and respect. "I LOVE MY CHINMAYA FAMILY"

We have been associated with Chinmaya Mission DFW for almost two decades. While we joined the mission primarily for its Balvihar program as most of the people.; looking back we realize that it was the best thing we ever did for ourselves too!! In all this time we have had the opportunity to meet and learn from the best of the best teachers, form a community of like minded people; grow as individuals with a strong sense social and moral values. We have learnt the value of being a positive productive members of the society at large. We are very fortunate to have Swami Sarveshananda helming the mission at DFW. We are very grateful that we have a teacher and a guide of His caliber leading our congregation. His discourses are truly inspiring.Swamiji and the countless mission volunteers; including the board members- work tirelessly the year round to run all the mission programs seamlessly- wether it’s Bal Vihar, camps, picnics or lectures. We strongly recommend CMDFW to everyone who wants to nurture strong Hindu values as a family in the best possible environment.

We have been going to Chinmaya Mission DFW for past 10 yrs. Our son attended Balvihar program (which is for k-12 grade kids), along with lock-ins, Holi picnics and various camps. Learning doesn't stop after 12 grade, as Swami ji conducts satsangs for CHYK(Chinmaya Yuva Kendra), and YEP(Youth Empowerent Program)....intense training for those who are interested in learning Vedanta in depth. All these activities are carried out by our Swami ji, Swami Sarveshanana ji and under his guidance by army of volunteers, who work dedicatedly as a team. Swami ji also conducts daily satsangs, jnana yagnas and study groups for adults. We are very fortunate to have opportunity to learn about our sciptures to cultivate strong-positive values as a family. We are very grateful to Swami ji, other acharyas and all the volunteers for their dedication and commitment. We strongly recommend everyone to join CMDFW to learn and grow spiritually. Hari Om!

I consider myself truly blessed to have the opportunity to go to such a wonderful place. The people are warm and friendly. They go out of their way to help you. I started when my kids were very young. When we started going here, it was so that our kids could learn about our culture. But, within 3 months that totally changed. We were going so that we could learn too. It was so much fun. It has changed our lives. Acharya Swami Sarveshanandaji is THE BEST. He is a very kind and understanding person. His explanation of the scriptures makes it so simple and easy to understand. No matter what the subject matter, he can explain it to you at your level, whether kid or adult. No matter what and how many questions people have, he answers them patiently. He treats everyone with utmost respect. During camps, he becomes one with the kids. Me and my family consider ourselves truly blessed to be under his guidance. Hari Om.

Chinmaya Mission DFW has been a huge influence in my life. I have been with CMDFW for over 15years from attending as a grade school student, as a college student, and as a working professional. I highly recommend CMDFW with it's great resources of learning Hindu philosophy and culture, an amazing inclusive community, dynamic volunteer team, to the masterful teachings of Swami Chinmayananda through the teachings and direction of Swami Sarveshananda, the resident swamiji of CMDFW. Not only do you get an opportunity to learn about philosophy and culture, but you become connected to the chinmaya community of Dallas and of the United States, get access to great resources to further personal growth, and a substantial parivar that will support you. Deserves more than 5 stars if it was possible.

Chinmaya Mission has been providing us the opportunity as a family to grow spiritually with like minded individuals and families. Our children have attended classes since KG and as High Schoolers today they consider this an important part of their individual growth. They choose to attend all available activities and camps and have built a rapport with other members from around the world. We appreciate the volunteers who help run the classes and activities of the mission in support of Swami Sarveshananda and the other Acharyas. We appreciate the opportunity to be able to learn about Vedanta philosophy and the scriptures (dialog and discourse about these are very valuable). Helps build a good foundation for the lifestyle we choose to lead. It is also very convenient for us location wise!

  • Parthi Partha

We have been with Chinmaya Mission Chitrakoot for the past 8 years and it is the best place to learn for both Kids and adults about Hindu culture and values, our Hindu scriptures and value the community. Swami Sarveshananda Saraswati is the resident vedanta teacher for Chinmaya Mission DFW. He has studied vedanta in the traditional Guru-Shishya parampara. All balavihar teachers are trained by Swamiji every year. As a parent it gives great comfort to know that my kids attending balavihar classes are learning under the proper guidance of Swamiji and the right knowledge is shared with them through balavihar teachers. In CMDFW, the kids and adults are also involved in Community Services, celebration of festivals etc. I think this is the best place for the kids learn and grow.

Our family is associated with CMDFW since 2001. My kids are part of Balvihar program and attended several camps and activities. Chinmaya Mission was found by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Ji with the Mission and Motto stated below. Mission: To provide to individuals, from any background, the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become positive contributors to the society. Motto: To give maximum happiness to the maximum number for the maximum time. CMDFW’s resident Swamiji Swami Sarveshananda Ji, Acharyas, Board members and all volunteers execute the Mission and Motto to the dot. Our family is blessed to be part of Chinmaya Mission and we are greatly indebted for their presence in our lives.

  • Deepa Anand

Our family has been associated with Chinmaya Mission for number of years & with the DFW location since 2009. Our daughter graduated through the Balavihar program and follows the teachings of Hindu culture through various groups she is associated with in college. For us as a family, we have been blessed to be under the able guidance of Sw. Sarveshaananda, be it learning the Hindu scriptures, nuances of the Bhagavad Gita, meditation, etc. We volunteer as teachers, as our child has gained a lot from her teachers who have been part of her Balavihar years. We has adults have gained through the experience of learning from Swamiji & teaching our Balaviahr Kids. It has become a way of life!!

  • Dimple Bhatia, CPA, PC.

Just the place for kids and parents! Both of our children went through the Bal Vihar curriculum, and I was involved in teaching. Even after our kids went to college (it has been almost 10 years since our oldest graduated from Bal Vihar), I have remained with the Mission because I am learning so much of the why and how of Hinduism! Having grown up in Kenya, we were involved in the rituals and I always wondered why. When I joined Chinmaya Mission, I found mountain of knowledge and information, all with very welcoming environment. In addition to being a knowledgeable and very caring spiritual leader, Swami Sarveshanada is an amazing leader, I have learnt a lot from his management style.

  • Latha Maram

Both my children have been attending Balavihar since 2010, logic of spirituality beautifully explained with an uplifting positive environment and wonderful teachers and volunteers. Swami Sarveshananda is the resident acharya who has made a great difference in our lives and the lives of so many mission members in Dallas and all over the US. It is a good platform for children, youth and adults to learn hinduism and spirituality in a logical, loving and fun manner. My children and their friends look forward to the annual camps, lockins and retreats. Very grateful to Swamiji , other acharyas and volunteers for their dedication and commitment.

Our family is associated with Chinmaya Mission DFW for more than 25 years. I strongly recommend this program for any family or individual who seeks to learn about hindu philosophy and culture. This organization, under the direction of Swami Sarveshananda, stands up to the values espoused by Swami Chinmayananda. Chinmaya Mission has centers throughout the world and this has allowed me and my family to network with other Chinmaya Mission members worldwide and communicate core values of Sanatana Dharma. A great resource like this is definitely beneficial for all.

  • Neeraja Sheth

We joined Chinmaya Mission DFW in 2002. My daughter has attended the twelve years of Balvihar - the weekly classes for school-goers, with annual lock-ins and picnics and camps on various events. My husband and I have had the benefit of Swamiji's satsang on Vedanta in weekend assemblies, camps and retreats. Words are not enough to express the gratitude to Gurudev Shri Chinmayanandaji's vision and the tremendous service to society by Chinmaya Mission through the Swamijis, the acharyas and the armies of volunteers. Amazing organization - nothing compares.

I'm an agnostic but I've been to the mission with my son for a few years during which we both had an incredible experience. It's all about making the world a better place and leaving things better than we found them. Can't say enough good things about the selflessness of the mission.
