I live close by and I usually visit this place for watching most of the movies . Firstly, they are known for cheaper ticket pricing. They even choose this theatre as hub for most of Indian movies as well. Most of regional Indian movies also run at this theatre on special time allocations only. From years the theatre had to undergo many changes and renovations. But my only concern is “THE SOUND” . Yeah you heard me right if the owners are watching this review. I must say seriously it’s awful and Every-time I hesitate only because of this . The sound system seriously needs to be updated. I am a serious bass lover and enjoy with solid sound systems. I must say my home doLby Atmos is way better than this theatre. This area is one of the popular in Montreal and being a theatre that’s almost in the heart of the city needs to be upgraded. With out proper sound system how can a spectator enjoy any movie??? You see I am basically from India and I am afraid to say that theatres in India are way modernized with latest sound systems almost in every corner of the country. And Canada, being such well developed nation also the founder of IMAX, don’t have min basic facilities means it’s surely ludicrous. Pls renew your sound system. I watched many movies at your theatre and always felt dodgy with your sound system. Sometimes, for high action packed movies I have to go other places like downtown or Laval to experience the real sound because I couldn’t watch a movie like Avatar at your theatre because it’s gonna be seriously awful.

This theatre looks like it comes straight out of the 80s! Like you're in stranger things. When it's not busy you just go upstairs to pay (at concessions). It was a Wednesday and we paid 5$ each, tax in! It's not the fanciest theatre but it's comparable to the smaller cineplex that aren't downtown and play the less popular movies. The seats aren't that bad and you can actually remove the armrest. The theatre rooms are smaller and the seats aren't as elevated and angled (as in raised up) as most other theatres. I'm being picky for those that are concerned but you can't go wrong for 5$! It's like how movie theatres were in the 90s before they got mega fancy and life expensive. Not as much staff to clean and maintain the theatre either, so if the previous people were messy, you may see it. You get what you paid for. The mall is quite ghetto though. And there is ample parking. If you go later at night, park on the side of the movies because the mall gets blocked off after closing so you can't go through. I'd definitely go back.

They are liars and so disrespectful. I came in with my nephews which are both 13 years old and I am 20 years old to see the movie « smile ». When i came in i talked respectfully and i was very happy to bring them here. I said Me: could I buy tickets for Smile at 5:15? Staff: Show me your ID for all of you. Mind you I am 20 years old you really think i would be a minor bringing younger kids with me??? I tell them im 20 she still wanna see okay i get it. Its fine. Online it says for kids that are between the age of 3-13 they pay 6$ plus tax. I tell them that cuz they were charging me 8$ for 13 year old. The white girl starts talking loud saying its kids under 13 i show them the online tickets and they still argue about it. When i leave i hear one of the girls saying i was right AFTER I PAID AND LEFT. Manager or supirior please inform your staff about the pricing and how to speak with customers. I was there sunday october 16 so verify who was working and talk to them about proper customer service. Thank you!

Good selection of movies and good seats. As other reported, not the cleanest of cinemas and best organized (don’t waste your time buying your ticket online). But when a 5 to 7$ cinema is located in the middle of a really young population with schools around, you can expect to have more entertainment with the people in the room than on the screen. Second time I go there and there’s people on their phones, groups of friends just having a nice chat throughout the whole film, people playing music on their phone during the movie... And when people complain in the room or to the staff, nothing is really happening. So if you feel like watching a great movie and dive into the story, just pick somewhere else. I’d recommend this one for brainless comedies and action films really. In the end, it’s kind of the complete opposite of iMAX! Interesting concept.

I am a veteran of this theater and used to enjoy it. But, especially since the pandemic, the quality has deteriorated: it's as if the projectors aren't up to date enough for the recent crop of films. Mission: Impossible looked especially awful. It seriously looked like someone had washed the film in Lysol or dish detergent and we were being served a glitchy, mangled concoction. For one thing, the colors were off: either too saturated (the characters' skins sometimes looked concentrated red), or not enough (forests looked grey, not green). And there were these weird blurry outlines around the characters, which proved distracting when trying to keep up with fast-paced action scenes. On average, as much as I love the neighborhood and affordable film tickets, it seems like you get what you pay for, sadly...

Are you a movie enthusiast on a budget? This is the place for you! Movies under 10$, in a clean movie theater easily accessible by bus (165), if not a little far from the nearest metro. You get that 80s vibe with the lighting and colorful carpet floors. Love it. I will say I'm not sure how good their sound system is. I'm a subtitle enjoyer, so I might be biased, but sometimes dialogue is a little muddy and hard to follow. Then again, that might be a hollywood phenomenon: plenty of actors nowadays whisper too much. Anyway, some movies like Dune might be worth the watch in a higher tier theater. This one has more atmosphere and charm however. Try it out! :)

I like to go there because it is very cheap compared to Cineplex. Tickets are like 5$ or 8$ depending on time of day and day of the week. Popcorn alone is around 5$. If you also get the drink it becomes like 10$ which is expensive but I never take a drink so it's fine. Most of the time you are pretty much alone in the room unless it's like the first day of a new release. Bad side is there are sometimes annoying and loud teenagers who make a lot of noise at this cinema. They act like they're in their living room and have no respect even if you ask them to be quiet nicely... Also the movies are only in english, nothing in french.

  • mathusan

Look, it's the cheapest movie theater in Montreal for new release movies. Only 6$ (used to be 5$) compared to 13$+ in all the other cinemas in Montreal. The seats are kinda dirty, old and really broken in. It's not super clean. The smell is sometimes alarming. But, you get to watch new movies or sometimes even multiple new movies for only 6$ which is an amazing deal compared to the alternatives. It also has this small arcade, which a lot of cinemas nowadays don't even have. This is definitely the broke high school student's perfect cinema.

  • Patrick Balyan

First time coming here, movies are always very cheaply priced, what surprised me was the popcorn jumbo for 6.50 only. They do charge for cups of water .50 but it make sense for the cups. The theater itself is not the best room to enjoy movies, there is sound from the walls and a cracking sound from the ventilation or something up there, the sitting is not gradual so people in front of you will hide a portion of the screen. The screen is smaller than other theatres. You pay what you get. This place is a 3.5 stars due to massive affordability.

  • Yan Erlich

Wow. Coming from never having visited any other theater other than Cineplex I expected a very scuffed experience. I was wrong. Paying only 7$ a ticket I went to watch Shang Chi on day after release. We went as 4 people and it only came to about 10$ a person even though we all got a drink. At cineplex the tickets alone would cost more than that. While the quality was a bit worse than cineplex, it was definitely value for the price. If I lived here I would absolutely come back. Would definitely recommend! Save your money!

If you have concerns over proper covid precautions, I suggest you skip this place. There was no one to check people at the entrance. No hand sanitizer in the dispenser. The man at the counter was not scanning people for the vaccine passports. Currently other cinemas continue spacing between people but this one does not and you sit wherever you want, just FYI. Cinema-wise, it's an amazing price compared to other places, but the sound is way too high. Boyfriend agrees so it's not just me.

  • Setareh Provencal

Price is extremely reasonable (5$ before 6pm, 7$ after, and 10$ for 3D), food tastes good, chairs are comfortable, rooms are pretty clean (occasional missed popcorn bag or wtv), they have a decent variety of movies, etc... I have gone there often in the last few years, and the staff were always friendly and polite. It's not as high-end as some other places, so you won't have staff at each door letting you in or checking in on noise level, but honestly it's usually fine.

  • Borts Borts

Satisfactory. For 7$ you can enjoy a nice movie on a big screen. You may even go on cheap Tuesdays and Wednesdays for only 5$. Also, movies tickets are only 5$ before 6pm everyday although they have to be clear that this does not apply if the movie is at 7pm and you’re buying your tickets at 1pm. Good for movie night with family and friends if you’re low on the $$ but still want to enjoy a movie. Location is very good and has a lot of parking space. Love the hotdogs!

  • Erika De Torres

So $5 to $7 movie tickets in comparison to more than double in a theatre downtown. This place is DOPE. Also, it’s quite clean and the seats are surprisingly comfy and cozy (very plush, albeit makes weird sounds as soon as you sit). The cashiers are super friendly too. I’d highly recommend sitting through a movie here! Note that the escalator is broke and also it is kind of confusing to get out of when you’ve taken a late screening and are taking the bus.

  • Vanessa Perez

It may not be in the best malls, but the place is quite good to check out on Tuesday. Friendly staff who were making our order and not a lot of people going to it due to Covid-19. As someone who gets anxious in crowds, Tuesday afternoons going to this theater is worth the bus/metro ride. It has decent entertainment. The only negative is maybe get it accessible for folks who can't use stairs. Other than that, it's great.

  • The Collector

Always been going there since i was a young teenager and i can say it’s a very affordable cinema in the heart of the community and is located in the 3rd floor of the mall and has many other shops around. It has around 7 theatre rooms and their pretty big has many seats also available per room, some seats are getting renewed so super excited on that end. Anyways i recommend everyone to check it out!! :)!

  • Tim Reid

CHEAPER TICKETS, FREE PARKINGThis used to be a cineplex théâtre back in the day and the facilities are still well maintained. Though the cinemas are a bit smaller than what one finds in Cineplex these days, they are still a decent size. Prices are a little bit cheaper. Most importantly, there is a free parking lot so no need to search for parking and pay an extra 7-8 dollars...

  • Kris B

Fantastic place! Every night is $5 movies!!!! So an amazing price! The theater was clean and well kept, staff was friendly. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the food stand is not properly staffed, so the lines are usually insanely long, like 20+min to get popcorn. But they do have very great prices and they use real butter . Great place!

  • Sarah

Prices of tickets are great, however the lack of cleanliness of the bathrooms and the theatre seats is worrying. Some of the seats are breaking down or are broken, and you can tell there isn't much (if any) cleaning of them done. Some of the theatre screens need to be cleaned as well, the dirt is noticeable. Staff is friendly and the food options are tasty.

  • Ronalyn Roque (ronzkinyles)

. , . …

  • Daniel Quiterio

Cheap prices for the movies, cheap prices for the food, much more quiet and calmer than the bigger theaters, whats not to love. The only thing is the cleanliness, they need to wash the floors more often, sometimes very sticky, but what do you expect for dirt cheap prices. 8$ for adults for the prime time slots. 5$ Tuesday's. Can't beat the price.

  • fitzroy safar

Great value for families on a budget. Never crowded, ample parking and the staff is always welcoming. I've been going to see movies in Plaza Cote-Des-Neiges for many years now, it's one of my go-to spots to see first run movies in Montreal. I highly recommend checking it out if you want to save money and still have a good movie experience.

  • Michio Hirai

Very cheap movie theatre. Quite shady, freezing cold, not super clean, ... But this is the kind of movie theater I went to when I was a kid. Still enjoy that place. The room are usually empty so I never really had to buy tickets ahead of time. Also, almost no trailers before the movie (some people like that some people don't).

  • Calvin McGuffie

Great pricing on tickets! Seats are fine; not great but not uncomfortable in the least. Theaters are small and don't incline much. Everyone sits at the same level, just closer or further. Food is OK and isn't sky high expensive. Want a simple movie going experience without all the hype? Watch them here!

  • Muhammad Hadi Hamid

Nice cinema within residential mall of Côte-des-Neiges. It’s quite big, proper audio, delicious snacks and unique seating arrangements. There’s also an arcade with air hockey, machines and more, however there is only an escalator on the way up, which makes it a long walk down if no elevator.

  • Marcelo Bassani de Freitas

It's a good cinema given the price. Great alternative to the expensive theaters. Some screens have some stains on them and some seats do not recline. It normally costs 5$ or 7$ on prime time. I always enjoy going there. Even the food is cheaper. It's well served by public transportation.

  • puoɯʎɐᴚ

Polite & professional staff here at this small, quiet cinema. Located inside of the shopping mall. Lots of options for downtime after/before the presentation of choice. I recommend it for the more mature viewing of a film. Have now seen 2 films here, and my experiences do not disappoint.

  • Loulwa Eltoum

The price have gone up so much over the years and the screen quality could be better I see that the renovated the chairs but the screen is standable it's not bad but it's not great the snack are good the employees are really chill the arcade is nice good place if u don't mind these ickss

  • Das Valhalla3

Excellent like always, it would be a 5 Star, but the popcorn was cold and not as fresh as usual . Staff is always happy to see you and yes its a little older decor but hey, you can’t beat the price and the extra space due few clientele. Enjoy and highly recommended. Cheers! …

  • Artful Dodger

Great value for tickets to current movies, good snacks, comfortable chairs, some arcade diversions (air hockey is the best). Shout out Randi (sorry if that's a misspelling) whose customer service was perfect. In general, the Cinestarz staff have been top notch in my experience.

  • Dhinesh Panneer M

In Montreal, I think these are the only cinemas where you can watch Tamil/Indian movies. Though not super-fantastic, this is a nice place to watch and enjoy regional movies. Seats are not reclinable and the tickets are not expensive either so doesnt matter most of the times.

  • Gabriel Aubry

Affordable (7$ on evenings) and with great selection of the newest movies, this cinema feels like a blast from the past. Only issue is sometimes it's understaffed so the seats are not always the cleanest. Still much more bang for your buck than the competition.

  • Atul Kalashjikov

I came here first time on 21 Nov 2023, to watch the first show of Napoleon. Hall no. 6, for 5.5 dollars the hall is excellent, screen quality 7.5/10, audio 8.5/10. I was really afraid at first after buying the ticket for 5.5 cad but I will come here again.

  • Stefan Goga

Best prices in MTL. The screens are pretty good especially considering the price. There are some Cineplexes with worst screen than this one for twice the price. The seats are different from room to room. Some are pretty good, but some are uncomfortable.

  • Eclairdug97

This is an excellent Cinema! It's clean and the movie experience is pretty good. Snack prices are pretty expensive, as you would expect. There isn't a lot of staff either, at least at the time we went so you should be patient with them. I recommend it!

  • Mo

The cinema is located in an out-dated mall. The theater room is clean, the chairs are very comfortable but unfortunately you cannot eat while watching the movie because of Covid-19. But as far as price it's very affordable and lives up to it's quality.

  • Dmitry Nagorny

Cinema and mall it is located in is quite dated, but it's covered with 6$ dollar per just released movie! So it very affordable! Kids liked it! Also a lot of movies in English, which big plus for us cause we new to Quebec and not very fluent in French.

  • Playat3am

Cheapest theatre I've been to in Quebec! Tickets are for 5 dollars a person. Food is also very cheap. Not overly crowded. Some areas aren't as clean as should be, but staff are always nice and amazing. Overall a really good place for a cheap movie.

  • Christina Garofalo

This mall is perpetually under renovations. Looks like it will be much nicer if they ever finish. The food court is just gross: dark and dirty. 3 stars only because there's ample parking and a few staple stores. (Walmart, Canadian Tire, Dollarama).

  • Psychic Guptaji

starz cote-des-neiges the tickets are cheaper when compared others and not to crowded they 7 screens. And it near to my place. I wanted to give 5 star’s but the seating are to just ok not to good. Other than that everything is good …

  • Grey C

Love this place. Seating is comfortable and fat people friendly which is a plus. The employees were really chill/helpful and overall the place was clean. My husband and I came to watch the Joker and we both are looking forward to going back. :)

  • Lavisha Parab

They have good comfortable seating and the movie price is so less!! I watched Avengers: Infinity War for just 5$. The drinks and popcorn are also not too expensive if you take the jumbo packs. Although they don't have assigned seating. So

  • Paradis Mélissa

This is the cheapest movie theater I know in Montreal: movies only cost 5$ ! It is rarely packed, so it's a great spot to go see a movie that is premiering. Also, in the plaza, there's a dollorama and a walmart for those of you who might

  • Zach Google Phone

My girlfriend and I came to the theatre and enjoyed our stay tonight. But I could not leave without a review thanking Randy. She not only took our orders, but was very polite, courteous and went out of her way to ensure our every request

  • Denis Prescornic

Last movies at 5$… but keep in mind that popcorn and soft drink will cost you 15$... New chairs in cinema rooms. More cleaning would be recommended. Update 18 January 2023. The cinema room was cleaner. Only on Tuesday show costs is 5$.

  • daxx dixon

The movie theater is alright, good for the price but when I was watching the new jurassic movie, the picture wasn't placed properly so the lower part of the movie wasn't visible and sometimes they forget to dim the lights as well

  • James Huynh

The price and the service is what makes this place worth. Sure, the comfort or the hygiene is not on par, but why do you go to the movies? On another note, some of the rooms are poor quality. Projector and sounds need adjustment.

  • Reviews LavalMontreal

The service is terribleeeeee, the cinema is whatever, the seats are terribly disgusting. The popcorn is delicious! the bathrooms are disgusting and scary, but that's what you get for $6 tickets. The popcorn is really yummy!

  • Danny Quesnel

A really great place to watch new release movies. All movies are 6$ all the time. Snacks are excellent and cheaper than in other theaters. There's also a few arcade games if you come with your kids. I highly recommend

  • Saeed Rafiee

The movie theater saloon was very dirty The seats were faded and old and damaged fabrics. Not vacuumed for a long time. Good thing we were the only person in the saloon. Private. The guys in the popcorn were friendly.

  • Pradeep S

Theatre seats are outdated and could use revamp. Sound and screen was good though and overall experience wasn't hampered. Could do with renovation. Probably the only place to watch newly released Indian/Tamil movies.

  • Nina De Winter

So cheap compared to other places! Although it’s obviously an old and small cinema with a lower screen quality, you get everything you need for a good price and I love how it’s never packed. My fave cinema!

  • Raw HD

Went this weekend to see "Nope". Medium popcorn and drink is $11 and admission was $8. I could hear the audio from the cinema next door at one point. Hey, for about $20 it was a good night out.

  • Jawn Daymond

Super cheap movie tickets for such an amazing experience! Popcorn and nachos are on par! Amazing friendly bilingual staff and answer you in either French or English recommended highly!

  • Sean Lew

Convenient, not crowded, and easy to get tickets for my Monday afternoon visit. I think there is no choosing seating ahead of time when you purchase online? They can use more staff?

  • henry_b12

My kind of cinema. On the 2nd floor of a mall. Small, quiet, intimate, clean, with comfy seats. Tickets only $6. You feel as comfortable there as watching a movie at home. Love it.

  • Samantha Jeanne

Great value, we always go here on date night. It's a little run down compared to other theatres around but we don't mind because the popcorn is amazing and the staff is great!

  • Kedar Mendhurwar

This is really the old fashioned cinema hall in an old mall. The seats are not comfortable and the audio is not at par. But the tickets are fairly cheap and the staff is nice.

  • mehbub issak

Theater with many screens in a well set location inside plaza cote- de- neige... Tuesday all day $5.00 deal..many restaurants around to choose from plus many stores too...

  • Ragnarok Ragnarok

Decent movie experience and very affordable, unlike pretty much every other competitor! I moved out of the neighborhood years ago but all come gets regularly for movies!

  • F S

At least movie seats should be updated. Nothing fancy, just an update would be nice, something that's easy to clean and still comfortable. But the price is right.

  • yojik016

My favourite cinema… bueno bonito y barato! It has a friendly and local vibe. Barely crowded, free parking at the plaza côte des neiges. I just love this place!

  • Martin Resua Rojas

The sound and quality image is not very good. However, it's pretty cheap and easy to sneak snacks in. It also has a cool vibe, corny but in the good way.

  • Nish (TheGreatNish)

Projector quality is garbage. The colour is completely off. Feels like you’re watching a 3D movie without the glasses. Prices are cheap but for a reason.

  • Paul-Harry Jayme

Personally, if you want to feel what it felt like going to the movies during 80's and 90's, this is definitely the place to go. Retro all the way.

  • dustin penner

Cheap place to see a film. Overall a good experience, but the men’s bathroom needs automatic flushing urinals. Smells like pee

  • DDCG

We love going here. Other than the cost to see a movie going up the cost for popcorn and drink has remained the same.

  • Philippe Schoeb

Its a pretty good place, the seats are comfortable but it would be nice to have the ability to lift up the armrests

  • Pablo Montoya

Nice price but the movie theater is very dirty, the floor is was sticky. For the price is very good only 8 dollars

  • Rami Negev

Seeing and screen sizes leave much to be desired but it is more than made up for with price and screening times.

  • Howard Brown

Nice and friendly staff clean environment very laid back great place to take your girl to make up to her

  • Paris Williams

Great theatre and a great price everyday! Great snack and drink selection. One of my favorite spots.

  • Roland Gaspar

Come here often, is inexpensive.. But today, 11:35, still closed, first showing was 11:20.

  • Cheick Soura

Movie night is always great there. It's nice and cozy. I enjoyed watching Equalizer 3...

  • Jesuis F’Akinbo

Best place to bring your date ! Every day before 5pm =5$ Tuesday Wednesday 5$ all day

  • Diego García-Travesí Martínez

The seats are old and don't lie back. But for the price and Tuesday at $5 is worth it.

  • A Charbonneau

It suits my needs. It suits my price range and it suits my expectations. Easy-peasy!

  • Jeevan Panta

Seats are not much comfortable but the sounds is perfect. Nice place to watch movie

  • Jonathan Elkins

The sound for Oppenheimer was awful. I could understand about 1 word in 6

  • Nicklous Coombs

This place is in need of major repairs, and it's freezing in the cinemas.

  • Cathy Lieu

The seats are comfortable! The sounds are not bad! The games were fun!

  • Manikanta V

All indian movie will be available here Best cinema place clean …

  • Judy Reid

Can't go wrong 6$ movies all the time. Most things in concession 6$

  • Arutyun Airapetiyan

Old stiff chairs but 6 dollars for a ticket and it's a fair deal

  • Jonathas Amancio Alves

Excellent ticket and popcorn price but seats not so comfortable

  • Satish Kumar Tumulu

The experience can be bit more better but overall it was fine.
