As an order of protection lawyer in Illinois who practices in the counties of Cook, Lake, and DuPage, I can say that the staff at the Cook County domestic violence court is professional and efficient. The judges deal with a heavy caseload, but still treat parties fairly.

These folks Never answer the phone. I called numerous times, went through the voice prompts and when I hit the number 3 to speak to a person the phone rang a few times then it disconnected the call/hung up. Finally I emailed my question and hope to get a respone.

The office clerks are all women, they all seem bitter and don't like to help the men who comes in for assistance. They help the women but tell the men we are not supposed to help you. I literally witnessed them do that today and had to help

Theses people are unhelpful and useless i think I'm ready to give up and just kill myself already over this mess . It seem like they don't care and care more about the abuser and protecting them . I have been calling and emailing them for

Terrible place, the order of protection office should be staffed by people who want to help the public and offer kindness to those going in there to seek safety. The front desk agent in the 1400 room was extremely rude to me when I was

If your going to get a protection order your probably already high on stress and anxiety. Fyi nobody here cares about that. The judge on this day was uncaring and harsh. The hand outs to follow are a bit confusing and everyone is just

Was not allowed in court room, even though it stated to show up in person. Had to try to ZOOM from the library, wifi is terrible there. Tried to call in, no luck. Finally someone came & called out my name. Tax $$$ hard @ work.

Very mediocre. The attitude of the officer near the walk-in metal detector is trash as well. Maybe these police officers lives are so miserable that they have to project. Hope she gets well soon. Lol.

You're allowed to bring your phone in. But it must be turned off the entire time. Bring a book and be prepared to wait hours for nothing to happen.

Everyone to my visit seemed very polite and helpful, which in recent times, contrasts the environment of all other courthouses I have been to.

This court never help me! It just gave my abuser more power! The joys of being a father and not being able to see your kids!

  • Alexander Bentley

Absolutely terrible, worst court I've ever ever had to deal with, over an hour on hold just to answer a 30 second question.

No parking for the poor or single parents, or elderly people of America needing to go to this facility for various things

Archives: Staff is always unnecessarily rude. Can't wait for Dorothy Brown to be out so tech can reduce their headcount.

  • Kenneth Houston
