I am a devout Christian and I don't know that there is any one right way to worship, but if you want to see passionate love for Christ, you will see it here. I see reviews that leave me more than baffled - a reference to income and race by Mr. Lewandowski in particular. I attended the 11:45 service this past Sunday, 1/28/18 and I was a minority in my row (I am a white, Western European woman) and the African American 20-something man to my right welcomed me as I did him, the Worship Team of 8 - 10 people only had 3 white people. The 7 babies that were dedicated that day were all Hispanic and/or African American. I have no idea where that critique came from except from some need to denigrate a church doing good things and bringing people into the faith, regardless of age, heritage, our sins. This is a Church of God and Christ. If Mr. Lewandowski attended a Catholic Church in South Phoenix, he might have made similar generalizations about that congregation - assumptions of income, voting preferences, etc and he would have been WRONG as well. Do not let our differences separate us. Listen for the message. You will find a message for you at Hillsong, and you will be welcome. Period.

I randomly came to visit, on impulse. The Sunday 11:30am worship service. Idk anyone who goes here, just heard good things about this place. Everyone was very genuinely kind & happy & welcoming! Church can be awkward, but it seems they really do create a warm-hearted comfortable atmosphere. The music was particularly enjoyable, probably my favorite part. Contemporary “alt rock” kind of sound. Seemed like original lyrics, not just the old gospel hymnals. Young, lively crowd. Seems ideal for college~40s. Some families. Some singles. Today the sermon came from a video recording of another pastor in Sydney, Australia. His “story” was pulled from the Old Testament—which usually seems so confusing—to me, at least. But he actually made it interesting in a modern & relevant sense. It didn’t drag on too long, didn’t get bored. Ha! They also give you a free unique Bible at the end, if you need one. It’s very interesting & different than any Bible I’ve ever seen, organized by topic, and making it seem common sense & personal. Will strongly consider returning again soon. Especially bc it starts later than most churches, at 11:30!

For a while, I had trouble deciding where my church home was going to be. I went to so many megachurches before, but couldn't find my niche. My friend's mom actually introduced me to Hillsong, and I had no idea what to expect. But I was amazed by my first time there! The downtown location has a beautiful church and the interior of it is gorgeous, it reminds me of an old church with the stained glass windows and the ornate columns. The music is really amazing- they play songs that you normally don't hear at most services, and it's really cool that this church is based out of Australia. Hillsong has an amazing vibe and I would recommend it to everyone, although I wish there was a location closer to me in Phoenix. I'm anxious to go to their LA location too! The only downsides to this particular location is the parking situation- the free lot is too small, and because it's downtown, I couldn't even find the parking garage and the paid parking for church was ridiculous.

If the sound guy could not bang on the drums every Sunday at 7am that would be great. BTW, you're dragging. Forbid you park in front of the church on a Sunday, the guy who cleans off the sidewalk wasting water will douse your car with water and not think twice about his behavior. The members have a giant parking lot to park in on the west side but low and behold they park at the meters, never paying, taking up spots from the residents who live in the neighborhood. Walking by you get stared at if you're an outsider. This has to be the most unwelcoming church I've ever witnessed. Do a quick Google search "Since 2020, multiple scandals connected to Hillsong have surfaced, including the resignation of Hillsong's founder and former leader Brian Houston, who was investigated for 'inappropriate behavior' with female staff and is awaiting trial for concealing his late-father's history of child sex abuse.May 19, 2023"

Truly an amazing moment... I have never had the privilege of visiting this church. Today I was feeling so low after looking at the Sunday news. The killings, Racial Tension, and political scandals was tearing my spirit apart. Never realizing I had the Hillsong channel, I was flipping through the stations and came across Pastor Terry Crist. He was discussing RACIAL RECONCILIATION! While I have never been able to believe in coincidences, now... I believe in fate. I sat through the entire sermon and I was moved beyond words. Pastor Terry talked about every controversial subject that most people/pastors shy away from. Abortion. Loving other people (despite their religion), coming together as a whole (not losing your faith) but becoming stronger as a nation. Amazing sermon, uplifting music, with phenomenal scriptures. I appreciate you for taking time out to read my review. I hope it is informative.

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! I'm new and from out of state and I've been to this location multiple times and they did NOT open during advertised times/services ! Bad really BAD communication with the general public on the website! Not one word about this years holiday schedule/s! I rate my attempts as 0 stars after I even called their office and talked to a live to a representative about the advertised schedules!!!! I so wanted to love this church but NOT now! Tonight there were SO many people wanting to attend so WHY couldn't they simply communicate clearly their schedules Such a disappointment in Hillsong Church! God would be and IS so disappointed in your communication Hillsong Church!

Terry and Judith talked about themselves the whole time (up until the point where I walked out anyway), not God. In fact, other than in the testimonies that were shown on the screen in the beginning, I don’t think there was a single mention of God or the Bible. Church isn’t about you, it’s about worshipping the God that has offered you all the experiences that you felt it necessary to talk about for 30+ minutes. I’m all for personal stories, I love them- but tie them into something Biblical. This is the second Hillsong Church I’ve been to, and I’m done giving them chances. Hillsong is a corporation, not a church.

HILLSONG has completely changed our lives. We were introduced to Hillsong Phoenix because our daughter is a student in Hillsong Australia College. We attended Hillsong Phoenix on Vision Sunday 2016 and never looked back. The church welcomed us with open arms and open hearts. We are ALL IN. We are so very grateful and love our Lord Jesus. We are so very excited to see the expansion in the church and to be a part of it. Our Pastors are anointed, wise, and humorous with a love for the people. JOIN US !

Diverse church. All ages, ethnicity, genders, and view points. Great music that makes you feel more connected to God. All the pastors and guest pastors know how to show the congregation the relevance of the bible in our lives today. Those that are an active part of the church usually make others feel welcomed. However, the rest of the congregation not so much. That said, I think it has more to do with people being shy and not rude.

I was raised Catholic, but my aunt is verys curious to do new things. She told me about this church and she wanted to try it out today. So we both went she brought her kids and my grandma came a long. It was way different than what I'm used to. I loved it so much. The singing and the pastors were amazing. I've joined the refugee thing on Saturday. And I think I'm going to continue coming here.

Visited this church over the weekend. Absolutely impressed and felt welcome before I walked in. I enjoyed the aesthetics of the old church with the modern worship. Relevant messages and diversity through out the congregation. I was only intending to be there for the one service and find myself pulled to come back for another service. Highly recommend!

If I could give zero stars I would. Faith is about acceptance and understanding if that is what you want DO NOT COME here. From the moment I walked in I felt the brain washing begin. Jesus is NOT the only way to believe it is one but from the time services started they made it known that is what IS for this Corporation AND its "believers".

We held our wedding ceremony at the City of Grace Church, Downtown Phoenix Location, and it was an incredible experience. Everyone at the church was so kind and easy to work with. Pastor Randy officiated and Lynn coordinated all the day of details with our vendors. They truly helped bring my dreams to life!

visiting from Colorado..was so impressed with all of the welcomes and smiles from everyone. what an amazing worship service and definitely worth the stop if just passing through on a sunday. would join this congregation if I lived here for sure! thank you for the uplifting that was so needed.

This is a beautiful church that is filled with beautiful people! The Lord is very present in this church and I felt very welcomed walking in. Each message/sermon I have heard has been amazing. I am eager to join a small group and continue to grow in Christ with this church!

My wife and I are from Texas were visiting Phoenix on a long weekend getaway like to visit different churches while out of town. We went to Hillsong Phoenix Downtown and were blown away! Everyone was so nice and you could tell they legitimately loved Worship!

Came here on Easter as guest and from the greeter, the worship, the message was all biblically accurate and spirit filled. I can at times look for the error or deviation from center and they are solid. Would definitely come back or get involved.

This type of church is different than what I'm used to, but I had a good experience. I didn't feel judged or unwelcome. The message was live streamed, and I appreciated what the pastor had to say.

Oh sweet Jesus, what a beautiful speaker and powerful Earth Shaking music! I had to attend the six o clock Sunday evening launching event! Thanks to the Crist's for keeping it strong and real.

Very enjoyable place to visit if you're new to the area. The Church has exchanged hands a few times recently I believe and it's nice to see that it'll be open again on a regular basis.
