Dealing with Rowaida Bourji is just unpleasant. She's just grumpy, and unwilling to make things easy. She talks to you as if her job is an inconvenience, and she begrudgingly does it, but not without first being rude and grumpy. I was trying to do a simple registration with the consulate, which online & on the registration form was clearly stated to be free-of-charge. I submitted all the relevant forms & documents by mail, and Rowaida called and told me I had to send a $10 check or money order. No explanation, just a rude call that I had to send $10 and that nothing would move forward until I did. I sent a $10 check, again by mail. Then another phone call again rudely telling me it had to be cash, not a check. All for a simple, free registration process...

Since 1989, we have used several of the services at the Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles. I would like to highlight exceptional service received during my engagement with consulate staff. Specifically, Ms. Rowaida Bourji has been an integral part of the Consulate team and has assisted our family in formalizing several happy occasions and a few unfortunate occasions. Regardless of the nature of the occasion, Ms. Bourji was always there for us. Her sense of professionalism is second to none. We are thankful for Ms. Bourji being part of the Consulate General team. We certainly appreciate your service Ms. Bourji. Keep you the good work!

I was at the consulate today and I worked with Alda to get some legal papers notarized. She was most prompt, helpful and courteous. I have been at the consulate previously and I have always felt that the staff did their best. I do not know any of the people there persomally or professionally. I have to say that reaching the consulate by phone is very difficult but I think that is expected since it is impossible these days to reach a bank or an airline even with all the money and staff that they have so I can't blame a consulate with a staff of half a dozen people if they don't have time to answer the phone.

We all assume that most government employees are lazy, bureaucratic, and unproductive. I drove almost 6 hours to visit the Lebanese General Consulate in Los Angeles to renew my passport and I was super surprised with the extraordinary service and the very knowledgeable staff. They were super fast and friendly. I was out in less than 20 minutes. Yes, very difficult to believe, but that is exactly what happened. If you are looking for the right deal, ask for Diane, she is faster than superman and she really appreciates people's time and effort to reach the Consulate.

No one answers their phones. I've been calling for several days, I also emailed them with no response. (I also called the embassy with no response). I don't understand if the office is unoccupied, or they're too busy drinking their ahweh. If you have an emergency, you wouldn't be able to rely on them for help. And all the good reviews are probably written by the staff themselves. If you notice, they're all either 1 star reviews or 5 stars. Too bad you can't bribe them. Maybe that might help you get through, like other Lebanese government officials.

I had a very bad experience with Alda who works at the Lebanese counselate she was very hateful mean uneducated no experience no customer service no manners she thinks we are asking her for favors, so I refused her help and I asked for someone else to help me, and thank God this person has everything I need very helpful very professional very kind she answered all my questions I asked for her name she answered rowyda I wrote her name down I wish you keep her there to help us.we need helpful people like her,God bless you rowyda

I had the best experience ever. I arrived little early to my appointment but was quickly attended to by Mrs Rowaida who advised me on what best to do in order to avoid complications in Lebanon .She did mention they were short staffed due to Covid but she will be working with Mrs Hoda to expedite the preparation of three powers of attorney. Both ladies were amazing, very professional and dedicated. They stayed after hours to hand me the signed documents!!. Never had such level of service and cooperation.

I got help from Ms. Diane to renew my mother's passport. She was the best. She followed up with me with all the documents I needed. She contacted me many times by email and phone. I appreciate her help because it was tough for me to fly to California By the way, my review is only about the renewed passport experience. I don't know about other services if they are great, but I hope the same excellent service

Alda helped us and we had a very pleasant experience! She was professional and took the time to answer our questions clearly. I really appreciated her because she was kind to my mom in explaining few details on the form. Leading up to our appointment, I spoke to Laila over the phone who was super helpful & professional as well. Overall, a great experience at the Consulate General of Lebanon!

It seems that the Lebanese culture of poor service is still prevalent at this place. I have been calling them for the past two weeks during business hours, trying different extensions, leaving voicemail with no answer. I sent four emails asking for help, no answer either. They don't seem to realize that they are there to render a service...

HORRIBLE EMPLOYEES . Very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I called MULTIPLE TIMES AND NOBODY ANSWERED . The younger lady had the audacity to ask if I had an appointment and LIED saying my card wasn’t working when I’ve used it before and after . They just don’t want to work . They need to learn some manners . They give lebanese people a bad name .

Very kind and helpful staff. They are all doing everything they can to process documents for the Lebanese community. This small but mighty team is serving the 2nd most populated city in the United States. With that said, I was so pleased to have registered my marriage and birth of both my kids in a timely and easy manner.

They claim u have to call for an appointment but they never answer the embassy’s phone. Staff are also very rude. One pregnant woman from the staff was very rude to my wife. Unfortunately wasn’t there with her to give her a piece of my mind. Like everything related to our country, it’s nothing but an embarrassment

The staff are friendly and hospitable, and they are always happy to help Lebanese with their inquiries and other business people that they need the Lebanese consulate as an official government office to get correct information how to support or to do business to help Lebanon in their economic difficulties.

I have been calling for the past 2 weeks to have an appointment for power of attorney. Staffs at the consulate don’t answer the phone ,and you can’t leave a message because it is full and they don’t reply on emails. Last things if I can give the staffs 1/4 of a star I would . Worthless and unprofessional

This is the second time I needed something done at the Consulate General of Lebanon and in all honesty, I have been lucky to have been helped by "Alda" who is very knowledgeable, patient and she explains things so well to make you feel at ease. Thank you Alda for making it a great experience.

I arrived 30 min before closing and they were already closed. I tried to call and a rude operator answered sorry we are already closed. As usual they get paid for doing nothing and not abide by the rules. If they want to leave early because they are bored just let them change the hours.

I had a great experience over the phone with Mrs Laila Yaqoub. She was a very professional, transparent and helpful by explaining every single step of the process. This is the kind of professional people we need to represent Lebanon . Again thank you for the efficient and quick service.

Closed on weekends? When people have time off work? They expect you to miss work as if you don’t have obligations, this is embarrassing for them I guess they need time to rest from doing nothing all day. What do you expect from anything associated with Lebanon

I had such a great experience with this office! I called to get information on paper work required for family, and the staff working here were so helpful. I was stressed out about timing, and they were so patient each time I called to check on documentation.

Worst consulate ever …. I called got all the information and documents ready and they told me I need to pay 50$ either money order or personal check , after waiting a month for my appointment I got there they told me they wanted cash . Very disappointed….

Everyone at the consult was very nice, respectful, and welcoming! All of the staff members were professional and I was able to get all of my questions answered within a very timely manner! I loved my experience at the consult, it was a 12/10!

Alda was disgusting to interact with. She was rude and abrasive . She didn’t respond to my greeting or questions and slammed the door on myself and a few other people . Roweida on the other hand was a pleasure and helped me tremendously.

Unprofessional. I paid $300 to renew my passport on Dec 17, 2021. Until the date of this review, I never received it. And I lost my old passport with it because they took it. The staff never replied to my email. What a shame!

Shoghig was attentive, helpful, and efficient with the paperwork we needed. We were on a time constraint and she really came through for us. I really appreciated how easy she made the process. Thanks for all the help!

Been calling from 11 AM to 11:41 AM and no one picked up the phone it’s kind of embarrassing to pretend to be busy plus listening to “ behebak ya lebnan” 441 minutes over and over again it gets annoying after a while

Unresponsive staff who don't care about others needs. I have been calling them every day for the whole month two to three times but no answer and nobody call me back to give me appointment.

The staff that work there are competent and they do try to help you as much as they can. Some days are busier than other days but overall going there couple of time was a great experience.

Called over the phone asking about power of attorney. Employee was respectful and helpful, booked an appointment for the next few days. Went there and the whole process finished in 1 hour.

will not recognize Lebanese currency. also refusing to acknowledge the drop in currency in lebanon. 1 usd was equal 1520 LL and now 1 $ = 12 000
