i don't know what other are talking about great view from train. most of time you are staring at the tree and leaf nothing more. you get few nice views along the way, but you get same or better view from top. train move rather slow. price of train ride is for going up and down and entry to Christ the Redeemer. they ask for social distance at the station but they are packing the whole train. so you are 2cm from each others in the train seat. not so much for social distance. when door open everybody is rush to get inside the train. so they don't practice social distance. but they do ask for people to wear mask and they do temperature check. they spread alcohol on everybody's hand who are getting into station and train. so that is plus. people at the ticket booth speak English. bring your passport or copy of you passport. they ask you where are you from and ask for ID. they are able to move people fast. i did not have to wait too long. but i went there during mid afternoon on weekend. so there was not too many people were waiting on line.

Smooth visit at 7:20am on a Sunday morning. Was prepared for the worst based on recent reviews but encountered no trouble. - Arrived at 7:15am for 8:00am online booking - Walked directly to the head of a single queue, no waiting, where I was directed to a ticket counter by an English speaking staff member - Presented my booking as pdf on phone - Given paper boarding pass for the next available departure at 7:20am - Had a cheesy photo taken (which they tried to sell to me when boarding the return train) - Waited in a separate boarding area for a few minutes before getting one of many available seats on the train - No queue for return train an hour later

Great twenty minute train ride to see a fantastic view of Rio. Important tip: think of booking train ticket before coming to the station. If there are a lot of visitors, as can happen often, there can be more than one hour of waiting time. When we were at the end of the year we had to wait for a couple of hours in the heat with small children. Otherwise think of coming early, before 10am. The additional advantage of that clouds can cover the Christ in the afternoon and hence there will be no view of the city from the top.

It's one of the way to go to Cristor Redentor. I prefee to go by bus at Paineiras Corcovado than this train. When we went up with the old train there was not safe feeling. The way down with new train so it's better. The journey time takes long and no nice view on two side compare with bus. One add point, it's convinence by one time go to Cristor Redentor. You can buy ticket by auto machines or ticket counter.

Taking the tram is the fastest way to get up to the Christ the Redeemer statue and the views are great. If you are thinking of buying water, I suggest waiting until you get on the Trem and buying from the men at the second stop up, who sell it for only R$2 (compared to the people in the waiting station who sell it for R$4). The cost RT is R$50 to take the tram to the top and the bottom.

Very unorganized... comparing to pão de açucar... cheaper but never have tickets, so just buy before going and expect to have to wait anyway and get into lines anyway.... so just go with tons of patiance.. the seats on the train are without numbers and people will fight for seats...not sure if i feel its worth the trip...again if u need to choose ... choose pão de açucar insted

It's a nice train and train station but the views are interesting only just before the top, until then it's just forest. It's always packed, which is expected, but the waiting in line for embarking are very long, especially on the way down. I think the money is better spent on the van service or completely different activities.

Took the tram through the jungle. At the top we were met with a large crowd really the whole platform was very crowded. The views were nice but not as good as sugarloaf. The statue itself is tremendous but can be hard to admire with so many people jostling around. Personally the highlight for me was the monkeys we encountered

The tram goes through the jungle. Except for green there are hardly any views. The real viewing point is at top (the Jesus statue). The tram takes 20 min. The tram is pretty old with very small seats. I couldn’t find the departure times, it leaves every 30 min. Perhaps it’s more convenient and fast to take a taxi up?

Bought tickets online. Got to the station half an hour early as the instructions said, but nobody would help. A lady, who appeared to work here because she was moving around the ropes, yelled at everyone if they tried to ask a question. Very rude ignorant people. Good job Brazil for making people feel welcome!!

Beware of long queues on the way back! We took the train of 17:20 and when arrived at the top, the queue for the way back started at the stairs all the way until the statue itself - it was ridiculous!! You could easily wait another 2hours to get back down.

The ride was beautiful. Not overrated at all. Did this with my family. Tickets are cheaper when bought directly from the trem corcovado website. You save up to 100% of the agents charges. Impossible not to love the view and the little church on top.

They take mastercard on location, the card reader is in front of you so there’s less chance if fraud. The ticket lines move quick & so is the line for the tram going up. Coming down takes a bit more waiting, though I’d say it’s worth it.

Fun train ride and organized. I recommend coming early on the morning to a) avoid the heat b) avoid a dirty/COVID train and c) avoid crowds. My journey couldn't have been better planned at 8:20am Saturday in a perfectly sunny day.

  • Emilia Ribeiro

Really bad experience!!! Super crowded and staff didn’t know what to do.. We had to go up to the Christ stand inside of the train, when up there, the attraction was REALLY crowded (we could barely find a spot for picture) and the

Best experience to go to Christo redentor.. rather than going by car with the travel agency, I suggest to go in train. It gives a nice view and experience totally. You can buy the tickets in person, 100 BRL for the foreigners.

  • ijoe

Quite well organized, we couldn’t buy tickets online, so we got it at the box office 83,50 reals per person on the weekdays (103,50 on the weekends). Lines move quickly, train felt new, vaccination pass checked.

  • Travis Wise

It's an interesting way to get up to the statute, but I had to wait about 3 hours due to the lines, and there's not much in terms of food or things to see near the base station. Next time I'd take a bus up.

  • AYL Yi-Huh

first train of the day delayed for 30 minutes then delayed again. returning train wait was 40 minutes not the scheduled every 20 min. why cant the most famous tourist attraction in Brazil run on time

  • Matthias Nagel

Christ is nice, but the staff forces you to make a picture at the station. When you want to go back down, the staff will aggressively try to sell you the photo. Really annoying and unnecessary

  • Steve Wardell

While not cheap, it is one of the things to do in Rio. The views are very nice. It can get crowded. The trip up takes about twenty minutes by tram. There is a small chapel the Jesus statute.

  • Erni

One of the most interesting places in Rio de Janeiro, beautiful views in nice weather. A lot of tourists, sometimes you have to wait long in the queue but it's worth it. I would recommend.

  • Tonmai_KSR

Nice view and natural way to Christ. Full ticket for adult R$75 (Holiday and Weekend), R$62 (Normal), Children (Age 5-11 yrs) R$49, Resident elderly (Age over 60 yrs) R$24.50

  • To S

Don't waste your time and money, take the vans instead. There are almost no views from the train, it only goes every half hour and takes another half hour.

  • Victoria

Be ready for a super long queue and confusing tickets purchase, boarding and pretty much everything else. You're better off just taking a minivan.

  • Krishan Sahal

Nice place, well organised and good experience to remember, nice views from train ride to uphill and way back...

  • Alonso Rios

Great and beautiful place. The ride uphill and downhill is fantastic. Much better than driving to the Christ.

  • Germano Corongiu Ferreira

Wonderful experience. The trains are safe and follow the protocols against the covid-19 pandemic.

  • Mark

We were fortunate to use the new trams. Seemed well organised and a great way to get to the top.

  • Gaurav Khurana

Very nice train starts to reach the Christo Redentor... Try to catch the first train at 0800 am

  • Mathieu Bardon

Very bad organization, no A/C in the train so it’s super hot! Better to take a van next time.

  • magic gregory
