What a great place. The staff is always welcoming in their greeting and helpful if you need anything. The change rooms are perfect if you need a dark shady corner to get away from it all. Much more classy than shooting up dope in a dark alley. Once you’ve finished injecting your medicine in the dark toilet area and left a nice surprise in the bowl for the next unsuspecting person, you can then safely dispose of your sharps in the bins they’ve provided. After a few years of coming here they finally patched the holes in the washroom stall doors and have now put locks on them! Privacy AND security! Don’t let them tell you there isn’t a pool! There is one! It’s located underneath the sinks in the mens washroom. It’s quite shallow though but you can always count on clean water being there. I’ve wanted to take a bubble bath in it forever but there never seems to be any soap near the sinks. There is a sauna too but unfortunately it’s for cleaning supplies only, people aren’t allowed in. The gym floor is large and can accommodate a lot of people, all of which tend to be pretty friendly, I just wish some of those people would put the dumbbells back in their proper spot when they are finished. It’s annoying when you find them in the opposite corner of the gym. There are plenty of machines and free weights as well as treadmills. You can start your run early when you find one of the few operable treadmills free and sprint for it before anyone else can get there. All jokes aside, in my honest opinion it’s probably the best gym in the city. The staff is knowledgeable, the people are friendly, the lighting in the change rooms is actually great for posing. You won’t find another gym floor like this one for the price point. Things break, it happens, but they’re as quick as they can be when servicing the machines. Although, I have been waiting for them to fix the counter balance scale in the change room for the last 7 years… the equipment is otherwise really good, they treat us well. Overall this is a great gym!

Let's get real this place is dirt cheap and for that you get dirt. The place is filthy, yet to see anyone tidy up. No janitor. I asked for hand sanitizer and apparently they no longer buy it I was told by desk staff. I'm not a pandemic freak but considering how gross the place it, it's nice to sanitize my hands as I leave. 85% of cardio equipment is not aworking ( see photo) of approx 25 or so treadmills I think 4 work properly, 1 of 3 stair climbers and about 5 of 20 ellipticals... NO exaggeration and I've been coming to this location since the fire at 5Star for many months now with NOTHING fixed. The place is overcrowded with people on their phones taking up equipment, teens hanging out talking OR disrespectful members who irrelevant of signs constantly slam weights and equipment. It's a true peacock joint. Half dressed members not really there to workout but enjoy admiring themselves in the dirty mirrors hoping it others notice them aswell. I keep hope my location will reopen soon. It was clean, equipment was repaired in a timely manner and their was more than 5 benches. ** photos are only 1 side of all the broken treadmills. The other side has 1 that works and 1 that will turn on but is stuck on a level 11 incline. It will not be in Crunch' best interest to charge me maintenance fees considering their is none. And BEWARE their are signs to keep gym bags in lockers. Ironically my 20 yr old son did that and went back to get his bag only to find his lock CUT and gym bag gone through. Nothing was taken but his items were all over the change room ( I believe someone came in while the thief was going through his bag and they got nervous and left suddenly) When he brought it to attention of staff neither seemed to care and only asked if he had his stuff there long as they cut locks after a few days??? It had not even been 2hrs. Needless to say use lockers at your own risk!!

Not only is most of the gym equipment broken, but the employees are rude and crunch randomly charges you huge amounts of money.... Today I went to this location when I was stopped by one of the employees who said I had fees owing, I said no problem, how much? He says $360+. I was trying to figure out in this moment how I could possibly have this much owing on my account when my membership renews every month and is paid via my credit card. Not only was this employee rude but he was condescending and called me a liar to my face insinuating that I knew that I had this amount owing and that I was quote, "getting away with it". He also said that I had been denied access three times this month when in reality the most I've said to an employee is hello and goodbye. Never once was I denied access to the gym. I feel bad for the guy cuz I think he was having a bad day and was taking it out on me but I don't even see how it's humanly possible that I could be owing that much money on my crunch account and furthermore looking at my crunch account I don't see that I owe that much. I have noticed that most of the machines at this location are broken and I'm thinking that maybe they were trying to get extra money from me to pay for the repairs to the machines? I'm not sure but it's sad and I will be calling crunch to try and resolve this issue. I will be definitely switching to good life or another facility that has good machines, and staff that aren't going to call me a liar and somewhere that's not going to randomly charge me through over $300.

All staffs are usually friendly and helpful. Except for Saturday Jul15 in the afternoon a pair of middle-aged white male and female working without uniforms on. They appeared inattentive and did not greet people in and out. What was baffling was they shut all lights off at 6:55, 5 minutes before closing time and the male starting rushing upstairs and yelling. At 6:57, 3 minutes before supposed closing time, he was seen yelling into the face of some people “HEYY GEEET TF OUT! put the weights down and OUTTT!” More than 50 people were inside the gym and change rooms. Everyone was astounded. Never seen this before. While he was rushing and yelling at people out, he got into quite some people’s faces and yelled right into their ears and faces. Hope he understands that the level of harassment and intimidation is unreasonable and criminal. I do not care if they are just some interns or owners. This is not how you treat people. The gut that he has to intimidate a flock of gym goers make me question his sanity. This is not the respect and etiquette that average Crunch members expected and deserved. The male later was heard walking to the female, telling her “this is how we treat them or they just stick around too long.” No, this is not how you treat people. I do not care how much muscle or steroid you have, learn some respect and manner. And to the female worker, learn to speak up and stop this rampage instead of standing there and smiling.

Not Very clean gym dusty . . I’ve never been in the change room . It does get quite busy and machines /equipment is often occupied leaving some wait times during a workout . Some machines are a bit run down but still function , you may just have to find a pin to use because not every machine has their own pin . Also the seats/pads are worn and do not get replaced or fixed quickly which is frustrating. Some machines are quite close together making it hard to change plates if someone is working out next to you. People are very friendly in the gym and staff seems like they would be helpful although I haven’t interacted much with them since signing up . Not a bad gym for the price kinda what you would expect for $10 dollar a month. You can get a good workout in just may have to wait for machines or learn to do certain exercises with dumbbells instead which is fine by me. However there are not a ton of free weights/ be aches which also leads to waiting for that equipment to be available. Not great but you can make it work

Once the equipment breaks down that’s it, it’s never getting fixed. Currently they have no working leg extension machines, leg press is broken, and hack squat. It’s been like this for about 2 months now. I’m not even going to mention all of the broken cardio equipment because others have a covered that in their reviews. Honestly even if you’re looking for a cheap gym this is not a good option. Its super disgusting - they don’t have any janitors and staff don’t wipe the equipment down ever. The staff basically just hangout at the front desk. I always feel disgusting by the end of my workout. If you’re lucky, the washrooms will be stocked with soap and toilet paper. It’s insanely busy after work hours, but in the morning, it’s not too bad. But you definitely don’t want to go after work because there are typically about 20 or so high school kids in their uniforms and crocks “working out” and goofing around

  • Jacob Hayes

Lots of cardio equipment but most of the main weightlifting stuff sucks. So many things need a replacement. There are only 3 or 4 adjustable benches at the free weights and they are all run down with the upholstery coming off making them super unstable. The cable row machine is so janky and stiff at the end of the movement, I thought I was gonna injure myself using it. Lat pulldown could use some more attachment options. No standing calf raise machine. Place is always packed at peak hours so you will need to wait if you want to use most common things. (except for the cardio machines) Subjective opinion; the lighting is too dingy, especially in the change rooms. It is like a dungeon in there.

This location is wildly overlooked for maintenance. It is one of Hamilton’s central and biggest locations, making is very busy as well. There have been multiple occasions where I have had to leave because I wasn’t able to finish a work out due to multiple broken machines which then causes congestion and crowding around the working ones. Most of the treadmills don’t even work. Now the fee for “maintenance” is going up in Jan??? I’d rather cancel my membership than pay 60 bucks for nothing. Terrible.

  • Pragati S

Signed up thinking I’d get the basics of working equipment, accessible and properly replenished washrooms, and people being considerate of others while using the equipment/machines, but I was wrong. These are basics. Just because it’s an affordable fee, doesn’t mean people should get less then basic services. I feel disappointed and will not be continuing my membership. Also, to find out that Crunch is raising their annual fee come 2024…no. Take pride and integrity in your services, do better.

  • Josh S

About 50 percent of the cardio machines do not work properly. General lack of maintenance throughout the facility. Missing quite a few barbells for bench press, squat racks, etc. Missing many pins for the weight machines. Phone calls don't go unheard though. When the phone rings, it can be heard all throughout the gym until the person hangs up or they eventually answer. The gym has a really great layout. If it was well taken care of, it would be a great gym. Too bad they let it go like this.

  • Alex Iglesias

20 damaged cardio machines. Today, Saturday, July 30, I get to do my routine, I normally do it at the Oakville facility after work. On weekends I attend the mountain crunch fitness. But this gym is unworthy, it is a small gym and at this moment there are 20 cardio machines between treadmills and stair climbers out of service. in addition to other machines in poor condition. If you haven't signed up yet, don't, at rush hour you won't have exercise machines.

  • Laura Thomas

Epitome of "you get what you pay for". Are most of the cardio machines broken? Yes. Are a lot of the weight machines broken? Yes. Are there a lot of younger people just hanging around in the afternoon evening (oh god I feel so old typing that but...) Yes. Does it feel a little grimy and dirty? Yup. Are the weekend hours short when comparing to other places? You guessed it - yes. But it's cheap as heck for a gym.

  • Honie Singh

"The management of the gym was incredibly rude and unprofessional. They never listened to any feedback or concerns from members, and seemed to be more interested in making money than providing a good experience. They were often dismissive and condescending, which made the gym an unwelcoming place to be."

  • Mr Patel

I love this location and I enjoy working out everyday. My frequency of working out is 6 days a week. The staff is like my family particularly Jourdan, Connor, Beatrice, Mason also Carrie. I will definitely recommend to all my friends about this location and also they are so cooperative and disciplined.

  • Amr Elsagheer

Although the schedule on weekends should start at 7:00am but it repeats when no one shows up until at least 7:30am. Today, myself and almost 15-20 other persons turned ourselves away. Hoping schedules are either respected or changed. Update: I went again at 8:20am and nobody was there.

  • Joe S

What you'd expect from a more inexpensive gym. Gets the job done. Many of the cardio machines haven't been repaired in a while, usually a short wait for machines even at peak times. Open over night some days. Will keep going indefinitely if they keep there prices the same.

  • Greg Burghall

I signed up yesterday. I went today for a workout. No one to talk to at the front desk. The washrooms were disgusting. One bottle of soap on the counter, every toilet plugged. Disgusting! Not a very good first impression. I just left, I can't deal with that.

  • Eddie

An Overall Decent Gym For The Price With Great Hours. The Only Issue I've Noticed Is That If A Piece Of Equipment Is Broken, It Does Take A While To Get Fixed. Like Any Gym, You're Better Off Getting There Early As Opposed To Later When It's Busier.

  • NITIN KAUSHAL

The hydro massage is out of order since a long time but the management doesn’t care to get them up and running properly. One hydro massage is totally out of orde and the other one is malfunctioning. What a waste money . Fit4less is way better

  • Dan Brickhead

Basic package is really cheap so they bank on you maintaining your membership when you don’t go because it’s so cheap you’re less likely to cancel. This cheap price is reflected in the maintenance of the equipment which all seem broken all

  • Mani Saini

"The gym members were unbearable. They hogged the equipment, didn't clean up after themselves, and were incredibly rude. Some even went as far as to make fun of other members. It was a toxic environment that made it impossible to enjoy my

I am very disappointed with the customer service from the owner Matt Fry. I put in a cancellation of membership 5 years ago only to discover they were still charging my credit card. I initially spoke to a staff member named Kristen about

Got a chance to fix an issue that I had created and, the guys at the gym were absolutely fantastic. I'm starting off with a new trainer for 3 days a week for an hour each of those days. It is worth the money they're saying it's $9.99 per

In the Hamilton Mountain, Upper James, They open the earliest during this covid-19. Staff and owners setup very professional Staff is very welcoming. Local supports local anything that goes wrong you ought to give a heads up✌ …

  • Berton Manuel

Great staff, always friendly and always helpful. The special classes of zumba, toning, yoga and etc… are awesome. Hydro massage, tanning, and personal training, but I haven’t checked them out. Equipment is well maintained, but just

  • Jayshree Khatwani

Do not join this club. no equipment maintenance. Too much crowded . Gym stinks bad. No steam/sauna And the worst of all. Customer service. I have had the worst experience with them regarding to membership payments. They are fraud .

  • Sharkie Q

Gym is decent, atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Haven't had issues with equipment not working yet. Range of different people working out. Downfall is only one massage bed is working so there's often a wait.

  • micheal robert

It's honestly a good budget-gym. You get what you pay for for the most part. A nice variety of equipment, decent amount of frequented gym equipment (squat racks (5) , bench presses (3 flat)), and nice staff.

  • Oscar

When rates go from $11 to $32 a month and you have dollar store dish soap in the washrooms with no soap dispensers.... Paper towels and spray bottles to clean the equipment are always very limited.

  • Lisa & Chris Camara

Sanitize your hands after working out here! Soap dispensers broke maybe 2 years ago and if your lucky you may find a bottle of watery dish soap left out by another member( I'm assuming that's )

  • Nicole Kremenjas

I have been a member here for a while bc it’s good pricing but not once has there been soap in the washrooms or anything to dry your hands with. I feel gross coming out from there

  • deco Ayubi

I can honestly say this is the smelliest gym I've been too. The stench sometimes lingers in my nose for the day. But its 15$/month and 2km from my house so I put up with it.

  • David Gregory

Awesome place with friendly staff!! Super affordable for a membership. Sometimes at rush hours lots of machines get filed up and occupied but never been an issue for me

  • Dijwar sidqi

This is the way they provide hand soap and no hand towel massage seats are down for more than couple months ,sauna is closed . But their staff is great

  • Stivi Sholla

Price that can't be beat. Took a star off cause it can get pretty busy and they just wont give us a sauna. Lucas at the front desk is pretty cool.

  • Amanda Hatton

Not a bad gym but some adjustments would make it that much better. First, the location absolutely has to be negotiated around rush hour. Located

  • Taylor Skewes

Equipment is always broken or not working. The place constantly stinks and not like BO but like it’s dirty and never been cleaned.

  • Abdiaziz Abdirahman

Affordable gym. Although the washrooms are always dirty and wet. If hygiene is not important to you this gym is for you
