I had a great dentist for years that I was very happy with. During Covid, he became unavailable, just when things started to go wrong with a couple of my teeth. I spent days researching new practices, and decided to try Dilworth Family Dentistry and Dr. Ma. Everyone at the practice was friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Ma summed up my dental issues like he’d been looking at my teeth for years. He did a great job on the initial work, which made me very happy. I went back yesterday expecting to have a broken crown replaced on a problematic molar. Instead of doing that, Dr. Ma explained to me why he thought it wasn’t the right thing to do at the time, and the options available to me. He took cost, my autoimmune disorders, and likelihood of success and my satisfaction with the end result into account, and I left with an entirely different plan in place that I think is the best one possible. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Ma not going ahead with the procedure and looking out for my overall well-being. I’m self-employed and don’t have dental insurance, so I was very interested in the membership program the practice offers. It’s actually going to save me money overall, and that’s NEVER happened to me in a dentist’s office!

I wrote the below review about 4 yrs ago but all holds true today. I live in rock hill and make the drive to this office because the quality of care from everyone in the office. The doctors believe that dental care is changing and advancing. They side on what’s best for their patients. I have had a watch on one of my molars for several years. And since the small spot has not grown it was decided to just keep watching it. I appreciate this conservative treatment as you know once you do a filling the tooth is never the same. This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to! From the moment I called to make an appointment, the staff has been nothing but kind, patient, and informative. Kristen (my hygienist) and Dr. Ralph explained things better than anyone else has ever explained them to me, and fully made me understand the importance behind certain aspects of dental health. I asked dozens of (probably) dumb questions, but they were always patient, understanding, and explained things thoroughly which put me at ease about the things I was worried about. I did my paperwork with Allison and she was AMAZING and everyone else I encountered was incredibly upbeat and kind. I’ve never been anywhere where every single staff member was so happy to do their job and better the lives of everyone who walked through the doors. I recommend this practice to everyone!

A dedicated, honest, hard working doctor that cares for you and his staff. This staff truly cares about you and your dental needs. Once you step in the door you honestly become family, patient or employee. ❤️

Dr. Ma is beyond the BEST Dentist I have ever had the pleasure of going to. Not only is he and his staff knowledgeable but they care about helping their patients take care of their own teeth between visits to lesson the need for more advanced (and expensive) work to be needed in the future. They build personal relationships with all their clients so you are not “just” a patient but a friend as well. Dr. Ma and his staff have made going to the Dentist an appointment I look forwarded to which I never thought I would say about a Dentist appointment in the past. If you are considering trying a new Dentist....don’t look any further...Dilworth Dentistry is worth the drive from wherever you need to come from to get there.

The entire experience was a great one; from the ladies at the front desk, to the x-ray tech, to the dental hygienist to the doctor himself; each of the encounters that I had with Dilworth Family Dentistry was fantastic. The ladies at the front desk had all of the paperwork that I completed online, ready for me to sign, which was refreshing! The hygienist explained all of my x-rays and what my experience would be today. When Dr. Fisher arrived, he did a great job, explained the process and assisted me in developing a plan towards a better smile. I left with referrals, appointment for my next visit and a new toothbrush and floss. One of the best dental experiences that I've ever had.

Update: I went for another visit today and again, truly exceptional. I was late to my appointment and I was completely ok with rescheduling, as I know first hand how disruptive it can be when folks are late to their appointments. However, they were able to work me in with another hygienist who was really good too. I've definitely found my dental home. Dec 2023: Everyone, from the front desk staff to the dentist were amazing! I have to give an extra special shout out to my dental hygienist Makiko, she is a star! She did the best cleaning ever and gave good feedback on how to keep my gums healthy. It seems like she gets booked up fast, so you better get in asap!

Look, I’ll say it. This is the greatest dentist’s office in the history of mankind. Even though we moved away from south Charlotte years ago, my wife and I have always driven the extra mile to continue to see Drs. Ma and Fisher and their team of incredible hygienists. Dr. Ralph has carried on the office’s tradition of empathetic, personal, and highly competent patient care. Today’s cleaning with Lauren was phenomenal as always; like her colleagues, she is a warm and kind professional who values people and professionalism. Can’t recommend Dilworth Family Dentistry highly enough.

After losing my job and going 8 years with no dental insurance, I was apprehensive about my first visit to a dentist (after changing to Medicare Advantage which includes some dental). Dilworth Dentistry exceeded my expectations with their professionalism, knowledgeable staff, up-to-date equipment, and comfortable atmosphere. All my questions were answered. Dr. Ma, Tracy, Heather, and staff did a superb job of making sure I was comfortable and well informed about my treatment and how the insurance worked. Definitely would recommend them!

Dr. Ma and Dr. Fisher are excellent dentists. They are very concerned about good service and listening to their customers. They invest in new technologies and keep patients informed. They refer to specialists when necessary. Their staff is always pleasant and communicate with you well in advance of appointments to make sure you don't miss them and are not kept waiting. The dental hygienists are thorough and communicative, coaching you about better dental care. Personal, warm, caring and talented is how I'd sum up their practice.

The people at Dilworth Dentistry have always been great--positive, caring, and very capable. And the administrative personnel are responsive and efficient. I’ve been a patient for more than a decade, minus a 2 ½ year break when I lived in another state. Everyone is always prompt, professional, friendly, well-organized and responsive. I’ve always been pleased with the practice and the care I received. I'm especially impressed with how well they handled an issue I had with my invisible aligners. I especially like the professionalism and personal attention of the Dental Hygienist Caroline (whom I request for my thrice yearly cleanings exclusively) and Dr. Fisher for my checkups. Went in for some tooth pain. It was a cavity under a filling. Firstly, I was running a little late due to leaving work later than expected and traffic. I called to let them know and they were like, just get her safely; don't stress. Dr Ralph and Cindy fixed me up. I appreciated that in her assisting him, he said "thank you" to her. Yes, it's her job but still there's no law against kindness, as my mom always says. I was also in and out of there in less than an hour.

We’ve been going to Dilworth Family Dentistry for years and we’ve always had good experiences. Everyone including our 4.5 year old have always been satisfied customers. I had to go today for a filling and I asked for minimal Novocain to minimize post procedure symptoms. Dr. Fischer listened to my concerns, gave me great options, and then let me choose the right path forward. Once he started the procedure, he constantly checked in to make sure I was doing well.

As always dilworth family dentistry takes all my dental questions and concerns very seriously, frankly they consider my oral hygiene as an important key to my overall well-being. They genuinely care. They motivate me where change is necessary and as a result I’ve reversed many perio-issues. I travel far to come to my biannual visits and I’m not giving up my care with DFD. This is a unique experience in this industry.

I had such a good experience at my first dental appointment in quite a long time. There staff were very accommodating and kind. I get very anxious at the dentist, so I really appreciated how they explained all the steps as they did them. The cleaning was one of theist comfortable I’ve had, and the dentist was quite nice (as well as knowledgeable). I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I so appreciate it.

My husband and I have been patients here since 2017 after moving back to CLT. The staff are all very professional and the environment Is welcoming and relaxing. We both had non-cleaning and non-emergency visits recently (one on a weekend when Dr. Ma met my husband at the office within 30 mins of our call). For both services we were not even charged. When does that ever happen?! I highly recommend this business.

Update: 8/24/20: The. staff is very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately today was the second visit where i have left in pain from a teeth cleaning. I go every 6 months so it can't be my teeth are that bad! They never were when I lived in San Francisco. Gums were fine and no pain, no other problems with my teeth and after my cleaning. my gums are sore and completely swollen. Can't even eat.

My family and I have been going to Dilworth Family Dentistry since moving to Charlotte in 2004...can't imagine going anywhere else. Drs. Fisher and Ma are very personable and explain things clearly. Dilworth Family dentistry helped me tremendously today. I came in with a chipped tooth and they were able to get it fixed and looking brand new! They were able to take me right away and under an hour they had fixed my tooth and you couldn’t even tell there was a problem. Thank for the service! I’m new to this dental office and everyone is great especially the hygienist Caroline and Dr Ma. My only complaint is the unfriendly front desk lady with the spiky hair… what a cold demeanor to have working at the front desk of a dental office which is already scary and expensive to visit. Excellent dental office! Everyone from checking in to check out was super friendly. The hygienist and doctor make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. They are very much fraud ppl. I took my daughter and asked several times and the staff confirmed that they are in-network with insurance company. They sent entire bill ( they just brushed her teeth) to me and immediately sent it to credit collector. NEVER CONSIDER GOING THAT FRAUD PLEASE EVER. Don’t trust them and they are not good at all.

So the Dentist is a very scary place for me and my anxiety does not help. I had an emergency and needed to get a tooth pulled. They were able to schedule me for the next day, everyone was so patient and kind. I really appreciated how the doctors explain everything in detail step by step. I had a cosmetic dental emergency on a Friday. The office was very kind to fit me in that morning. When I arrived, Dr. Ralph and the dental hygienist were kind and efficient. He was able to provide a temporary option until I could get a permanent solution.
