Most teachers at this school are ok and student and the atmosphere is better than other public schools. However the teaching and mentality at this school can be quite dangerous. Christianity is by far the main focus point of the tutoring, with teachers imposing their ideas upon students. This results in kids becoming very ignorant, especially concerning other religions. Pupils strongly believe 'God' will steer their lives, and use this as an excuse to be lazy and not work diligently. In an ironic twist, I came to this school as a devoted christian and left as an atheist, after realizing how damaging religious beliefs are, especially around naive teenagers. If you want you daughter/ son to be a pastor or be involved in the church after they graduate, this school will be perfect for you. If you want your children to be wise, open minded and lead a successful future, then I would steer clear of this school and go for a more academic focused tuition.

Although teachers nice, the school teaching style is very naive. Many people at the school support Neoliberal ideologies and alt-right mindsets. They view other religions as uncorrect, misguided or are sympathetic for how far from the 'truth' they are. Students are fed a Conservative Baptist ideal from Year 7-11 where they are forced into doing a VCE subject relating to religion. The 'Young Earth' theory is peddled by the ever-dominant parent board during science and existent of climate change is questioned. Many teachers fear to speak their opinions in case they contradict the school ideals because they may be targeted by the parent board. They natural environment is respected by most staff but this is not passed on to the students. School grounds including locker bays are filled with rubbush and food scraps. In all, this school is suited for the middle class, or 'aspirational class' who are devote Baptists, otherwise this school is not for you.

For a Christian school, they did not handle matters with me a Christian way. I was 18, a student at the school in the middle of my Year 12 education. My biological parents terminated my enrolment. After this, I was offered to continue there under special financial circumstances. Then, after my parents met with them, they changed their minds. They did not let me continue & banned me from attending my own school formal, and did not even let me say goodbye to any of my friends, peers & teachers.I was even threatened to be removed by force off school grounds! They cared more about money than a student's education and future. They listened to my parents threats, instead of doing what was best for the student. The head principal & vice principal handled this matter extremely poorly. I will not be sending my daughter there.

I used to go here but the work is really slacking compared to other schools like edsc and the teachers are like EXTREMELY biass and all of them hated me for no reason and told me off for the tiniest things. you also get detentions for really small stuff but some of the teachers were nice like miss reed, mr Lewellyn, mrs veduci and mr reed. overall the environment is very judgemental and homophobic and some of the students were SUPER judgy on how holy you were. and in year 9 camp a couple girls got hypothermia and injuries but were still forced to hike more and were told not to tell their parents which is seriously concerning. finally got out of this cult and I've never been better xx

I started at Donvale last year I was new and everyone was already making friends and I thought that I wouldn't make any. But then as the year went on some girls came up too me and started hanging out with me and I felt very welcomed. But now I'm in year 8 with a lot of great friends and a lot of great teachers that are very much supportive of us kids and they try to make us do our best but this hate that some people are giving to this wonderful school is not nice and the teachers are might not be perfect but they are also trying after all they are humans and nobody and i mean nobody is perfect so this hate that this wonderful school is getting needs to stop

I'm a new student at this school and I think the staff and students here is super friendly! The education and school environment here is so much more better than my old school! I'm currently in year 9 and the best teacher here has got to be Mr. Price! He's super funny, friendly and great at teaching science! However, I do wish that there would that there was more cultural activities we could participate in and more varieties of languages that we could learn at this school.

Good environment with mostly nice students and teachers. However, students won’t be prepared for VCE in the future as the result of lack of class/homework and pressure. It’s not a bad school, but it heavily focuses on religion, not so much on academics! It’s a good school for students that are in primary to all the way year 9, definitely wouldn’t recommend continuing senior secondary if you want to excel in VCE!

I must say, in the past few years Donvale has gone down the drain. Their teachers are extremely lazy with work and would rather give bible verses than actual revision. You can never reach anyone in the school, all emails go ignored or have a half-hearted response. You're better off going to any other school in the area

I change my mind, the teachers here are way better than at Melbourne high school. Its hard to learn anything over there and the only reason its rated so high is because of the smart students, not the good education. We follow a government curriculum and everything aaaaaaa why'd i leave this school

Probably one of the best schools I have ever attended. I highly recommend coming here. Most people are concerned about the high radiation but it's actually not that bad. Safe environment with awesome teachers, just come!

  • Izaakk Li

They preach too much about god, came here for 1 year and had to move schools because it was so bad!! My best friend got abused for wearing the wrong shoes by staff members. My new school is treating me so much better!

Thank you to all the dedicated teachers at DCC! All my 3 kids went to DCC, they had the best teachers & school experience there. They've made wonderful lifelong friends at DCC too. God bless!

  • will moulton

scammm, absolute joke you get punished for not fitting their mould and get thoroughly picked on by teachers if you aren't exactly academic, hated every second of my schooling here

  • Karien Muller

Most wonderful school and amazing teachers! My children have never been happier - they literally can't wait to get to school. Highly recommendable - very good value for money!!!

  • Christine Dickson

We came to watch your production of seussical Jr. We are on holidays from Tasmania and we came to watch the show. It was absolutely wonderful the children were amazing.

  • Chris Little

A successful blend of the academic with the holistic, producing well-rounded, community -minded, academically enabled young adults, founded on a Christian-based ethos.

Such a great school. Kids are so happy here. Peaceful atmosphere. Great teachers. Real community. Well organised events. Love this place.

  • Jugganaunt 34

decent school but a bit expensive if kids aren't interested in academics you need to be smart to go to this school

  • Rebekah

Horrible, co-ordinator wouldn't let me go home while having a panic attack, even with my guardian present.

  • Xavier Wursthorn

The year nine campus sucks. They need to upgrade the basketball court especially as well as the field.

  • Hayden Ramage

This place has such a nice community and a very good environment, for kids of all ages
