If I could give this place negative stars I would. It has taken me a while to write this and make my peace with it but I feel like all clients, and potential clients, of this place should know how unprofessional this clinic is. I took my 9 year old PERFECTLY HEALTHY shihtzu in the fall of 2020 because she was experiencing some stomach upset, along with other symptoms. They checked her inside alone because we weren’t allowed to go in because of covid so we don’t know what happened in there, but when she came out they just gave her pills for her diarrhea. We went home and gave her the pills as we were told. Fast forward two days later she started having a runny nose and was extremely thirsty and would urine extremely large amounts (which now we know are indicators of diabetes). We took her back and they didn’t take her in because she tried to bite them (according to the vet techs). They spoke to us outside and gave us allergy pills because according to them “it’s probably just allergies”. Fast forward again to a couple days later and my dog was in very bad conditions which led us to take her to the animal hospital. We then found out she was anemic, diabetic, and extremely sick. Unfortunately we had to put her down that same day. I am sharing my story now to make other owners aware and know that although we were in the beginning of Covid and we’re not allowed inside due to the circumstance, we still did not get the care or attention we deserved. I advise anyone who is thinking of going here to choose another vet. We could’ve gotten better care and my perfectly healthy 9 year old shihtzu would still be with us today. I hope whoever still goes here is given better care and attention than we were.

We brought our puppy in from the start. While the front desk is very friendly and Dr Ron is knowledgeable, their business hours are not accommodating. When we wanted to make an appointment for various concerns, we were told there were no appointments for several weeks. They did not have our correct address on file so all the mail that was sent to us was returned. After her spay, they did not even call the following day to see how she was doing. We were not informed on her next rabies shot or vaccinations. There is no vet on saturdays. In my opinion they have taken on too many clients to offer the adequate care and concern. She was given the wrong medication one time, they severely miscalculated her weight and thankfully I caught the error before giving her the medication at home. For these careless mistakes and poor after care manners, we have chosen to take our dog to another vet. We gave downsview clinic a chance because it was so close and convenient but the care our dog received was poor

There is a reason why there's mostly only 5 star and 1 star reviews. If I could give negative stars I would. Dr.Ron is condescending and dismissive and of the issues brought to his attention and instead treats things that are not a problem. The girls on the phone are condescending and judgemental. Took my dog there months ago for ointment for her ears and walked out with a bill over $800, feeling bad about myself and my dogs ears have just gotten worse and worse. Two years ago I took my kitten to get spayed. She came back with a swollen scratched ear. When I called about it they said that they saw it during the procedure but didn't think anything of it. It got worse over a couple days and then I had to take her back 3 times to get an ointment and check up. Having to take time off work 3 times to bring her there meanwhile they could have treated her during her procedure and be done with it. Thankfully I have a new vet now that actually cares and tries to fix the problems with my pets.

Do not go here. 1. I went there one time and was treated by a woman, who I don't believe was the doctor because she didn't put her name on there, she put the male doctors name on the report.. 2. They criticized me for not cutting my dogs nails, then proceeded to cutting one of my dogs nails too short and making him bleed (a shameful mistake for a vet to make, especially right after critisizing their client) 3. I went there for my dogs skin condition which wouldn't be fixed for longer than a month, then I'd have to go pay another 200-400 dollar bill to get it fixed again... turns out I went to another vet and my dogs allergies didn't flare up for a whole year... everytime I went in this office its like he didn't know who I was, or why I came... Does he not even take effort to read his patients notes before entering? In my opinion... GO FIND A vet that actually cares about pets.. there are better veterinary offices than this one out there trust me.

Dr.Ron is very unprofessional, rude, and wildly condescending. He's quick to brush things off regarding concerns for your pet's health, happened numerous times (my dog developed elbow dysplasia after months of me asking for joint supplement recommendations to PREVENT such issues. He just kept saying "if he eats his food he'll be fine"...good thing I switched vets, they were asking how my old vet let it get to this point). They also keep dogs in crates for 4+ hours before their procedures, fasted, and without water. I saw because I walked out and passed all the crates and my dog was also crazy thirsty after she finally got out. But they lied to me about her procedure start time so I didn't know she was being kept in such horrible conditions. We could've waited in the parking lot with her if we'd known the procedure wasn't starting. Disgusting and never going back. Such a shame that Dr.Ron owns the whole practice.

Dr. Ron and his staff are amazing. Unfortunately our puppy has had a tough life so far. We purchased her from a breader and after 4 days found out we were sold a very sick dog. She was diagnosed with parvo and her condition went downhill quickly. This was a very hard time for us and the staff at DVH helped us through it. She has also had a conditon with her paws where the tissue was dieing and required special care. The cause of the condition is still unkown but Dr Ron makes sure to take extra good care with her so it does not return (this includes a list of medications and vaccinations we cannot give her) recently she has been in pain and they fit us in right away that day! Dr Ron has also done her routine procedures (recently her spay) and he did an amazing job. They are very helpful, friendly and understanding. Karma (our pup) and I would highly recommend bringing your pets here!

At first thought this was a good vet brought my kitten there a few times for check ups. Later in the year Leah had gotten sick so we brought her in and Dr Ron did a few things nothing really was helping he gave us some medication to take home and basically said to us good luck and there was "nothing else he could do " but he wasn't being polite when saying this. Pretty much just wanted our baby kitten to loose to the sickness by helping her as little as he could. Still knowing something was wrong we rushed her to the emergency animal hospital downtown as she was much more sick then Dr Ron had told us. Animal hospital and us as a couple did everything we could to save poor Leah but she passed away after a week and half in the e.r. Overall I wouldn't recommend going here honestly guys find a better vet in the area this guy is Scum.

Downsview Animal Hospital consists of a bunch a goofs. Been going here for several years and service has just been getting worse and worse. Staff is cold, unhelpful, zero communication and extremely dismissive. If you dare ask a question they act as if it such a bother. Dr. Ron is extremely unprofessional, does not provide recommendations and is very one track minded. If your pet is sick let’s just euthanize it. D.A.H is not old-pet friendly, they prefer to just end the animal’s life instead of improving quality of life. Being over 10 yrs. does not mean your pets life is over, so SHAME ON YOU Dr. Ron for making what should be the last option your first option. If you love your pet STAY AWAY FROM DOWNSVIEW ANIMAL HOSPITAL . Just because your a busy clinic does not mean people are gonna stick around for your garbage.

I have been coming here for several years. I recommend Dr Ron more than Dr Allen. Dr Allen pressured us into getting the most expensive and extensive tests during every visit. When at the end, they were not really necessary in the first place. Be mindful of which are necessary and what is extra. She also complains about the owners/patients, which is arrogant and uncomfortable. Dr Allen and his staff however, were amazing and genuinely care about their work. They are accommodating and helpful when you have any questions or concerns. He also follows up after surgeries to make sure that everything is ok, which is always appreciated, and seems generally to be a very nice guy.

I thought this place was good but as it turns out it was only the receptionist. Yes to low prices but horrible care. Pug puppy put on Hills (DON'T USE THIS BRAND!!!) and instead of changing his diet when he had diarrhea he was prescribed pills to make his poo more solid 3 separate times (total of 31 pills!). In addition to that when he was having eye issues he was given a cream but no cone then ended up having an ulcer from "scratching his eye". Had to ask for a cone for the second visit which also came with new medication. His diet is now on chicken and rice and he's good and we are with a new vet. STAY AWAY FROM HILLS FOOD, vets get kick-backs for pawning it off!

Dr. Moore is amazing. You can tell while you are there that he really cares about the well being of your animal. My dog had surgery on his ear there, and due to my dogs age had some issues after the surgery. Dr. Moore treated my dog multiple times for the problems after his surgery, but never charged me anything extra at all. The only thing I paid for was the surgery. On top of that, he seems to be the cheapest in the area. My dog loves him now and I will not go to any other vet. Thank you Dr. Moore. As to the review that said they killed your cat, this is the wrong vet. Dr. Moore is a male doctor, and the review keeps complaining of a "she."

Non better business Bureau approved "hospital". Lack of care to details by the doctor-For your beloved pet, a family member -Look elsewhere!! Update: 11-14-2023 Caution! Just ran into a neighbor Ms Penny and after spending 2300 dollars her cat was scheduled to be put down by Dr Ron. Ironically she was told to pick up her beloved pet on the same day. Don't say you haven't Been warned, I caution you to stay away. far away, he kills pets as he did ours in 2013 when we brought our Fur-kid there, and he failed to take a urine test and misdiagnosed her, resulting in Death during an ice storm and run to Emergency

Dr. Ron is a special guy. He took the time to speak with me on the phone after my cats appointment. He's smart and genuine. The other staff I've dealt with are very nice, thorough and helpful. I called yesterday regarding a neighbourhood stray cat who looked worse for wear and the receptionist said if I can get the cat into a carrier and bring him in before 6, they would stick around and help him out and also look up his microchip if he has one. They're always busy but willing to go the extra mile to help out an animal and it's owner. Grateful to have them in the neighbourhood!

I would like everybody to know that the staff at DVH are outstanding care givers and people. I just had to put my 14 year old cat “Spaz” down this morning. DVH has been his caregiver since he was a little kitten (along with his brother and our little dog). I sincerely thank them for their professionalism and compassion. I have the upmost respect for the team at DVH. If you are looking for a vet, DVH is the right choice for your furry family members. First impression was that it was a clean clinic, then Dr. Ron explained everything so i could have a better understanding of how to care for my cat. He was quick but very efficient and my cat was comfortable with his check up, he didn't probe her too much and when we got back home she was playing again as if nothing had happened, even after getting her first shot, check up, and 2 medications. They did not over charge, they were friendly and professional. I was very surprised and pleased with mine and my cat's first visit to a Vet.

Outstanding Doctor and staff. Patiently and professionally helping me deal with my dogs stubborn eye ulcer for months now. She's 16 and surgery is out of the question but they're stubborn too and so is she. We battle on. Doctor Ron is a fixture in the neighborhood and I'm never feeling unwelcome or like a pest when we go pretty much weekly for follow ups. They always make us feel welcome and they're always very caring. Can't recommend this clinic and it's staff highly enough.

A fair great vet clinic, we love all the staff and of course Dr. Ron is great. The whole team is so welcoming and answers all my questions and calls to make sure I don't forget important appointments and instructions. After my Sammy mix got spayed they even called me to check in to make sure she was healing well after the surgery. They're supply of liver treats makes my girl so excited that everytime we pass by the clinic she's eager to go inside to say hi to everyone.

This is the worst animal hospital ever!! They would not take my sick cat that had blood coming out of him because they didn't have any appts for 3 wks. They also wouldn't take my dog who collapsed because a tumour broke in his stomach and was filling with blood because they were having a party. Don't take your pet here, they only care about money and nothing more. The Bathurst animal hospital is so much better. Even if they're busy, they never turn down a sick animal.

Thanks downsview vet, you took our dog in for a much needed surgery knowing it was a dire situation. You saved her life and I'm grateful for your quick reaction to place her into immediate surgery the day of. Sassy is her name and it's just over a month later and she's back to full life thanks to your team. Pyometra was the case and the amazing team acted promptly to insure the survival of our dog. Much obliged to the downsview vet team.

Dr. Ron and his team are such a caring group of people. He is truly an incredible human being and really truly cares about your pet. Was in yesterday for a lump removal on my old girl and as worried as I was to have her sedated Dr. Ron just has this way about him, you know your family member is in good hands. Thanks Downsview, Lexi is back to herself this morning, incision looks beautiful, thank you for taking care of my best friend.

Amazing staff! The assistants, techs and vets are all rock stars. I have a feral rescue cat who, as you can imagine, is terrified of people. They were SO good with her, she needed some extensive dental work and Dr. Ron Moore spent the time to go over all her x-rays and explain what was needed. They made sure we got all the post-op instructions and a follow-up appointment 10 days later. Top-notch veterinary care!

Downsview Veterinary Hospital has provided the best care for my schnoodle puppy since bringing him home at 8 weeks. The staff are friendly, professional, and never hesitate to answer any questions you may have. A visit from Dr. Ron has been a great experience every time for our puppy. Would definitely recommend this veterinary clinic for anyone in the surrounding area or GTA!

Unfortunately the vet at this establishment has the worst customer rapport I've ever seen. And unfortunately even worse, his handling of my pet was terribly lacking in someone who should be experienced in handling the tiny little doggy that I have. My dog was in severe pain afterwards. Thankfully my doggy gradually recovered over the following two months. I do not recommend.

My puppy doesn’t like going to the vet but the staff and doctors here are so welcoming and great with all the animals. They recommended this brand of food for my puppy and he absolutely loves it. They also took great care of him and for check ups they look for everything and do not overcharge. I recommend if you’re in the area and need a vet to visit here!!

Dr. Ron has worked with 2 dogs and 2 cats of mine over the years and his care has always been excellent. Always willing to answer questions and provide follow-up, he was also really compassionate and helpful when we had to deal with the sudden loss of one of our dogs. The staff here is amazing , you can really tell they care about all the animals that come into the office .. They are honest with you in what they think will work for your animals and what will not !! I have brought my past cats here for a few years and will continue to do so for future fur babies .. Wonderful veterinarian, so caring and friendly with my cats and myself. Both the vet and other staff are friendly and inviting. The facility is clean and bright. The vet communicated everything clearly and was easy to talk to and ask questions about their health and any concerns. Truly cares about the animals he treats.

Thank you Dr. Ron and team! I’ve been bringing my rescue dog Luna here for a few years now and they have been patient and kind to my timid dog. Recently we got a 8 week old puppy, and the team has been very helpful in walking us through the steps and answering our questions. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I've taken my cats here for a few years now. The Vet and staff are very friendly and helpful. They've managed to squeeze my pets in for their shots and I very much appreciate that. Just generally nice people and they put my cats at ease. Highly recommend!

Friendly and knowledgeable, this place is clean and well run. Everyone and animal is treated amazing. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else. You know a place is good when they are booked pretty solid but always willing to squeeze you in if needed.

Very Nice! The Veterinarian helped us a lot! My dog was 7 months old Rottweiler and I just got her back then. She was a puppy and the vet help ed us everything we need help for. She even cutted her nails! I always come here!

Dr Ron is a very great veterinarian. He's not for the money in my opinion. He truly cares for the animals. Nonetheless, I gave a 4 stars as to miscommunication in the staff end as to prices for meds and items.

Just called to book an emergency examination for my cat with an impaled and infected pad, was placed on hold for over 30min, called back immediately to find out they closed that very minute.

We regret that we took our dog here. We were about to lose our dog because of the treatment applied here. Staff and doctor are very rude and arrogant.

They were very nice and gentle with my pet. They saw us at the appointment time and we finished the vaccination and health checkup in 15 minutes.

Great clinic and the prices are reasonable. I've been taking my cats there for 25 years since I was 13 years old and I've never been disappointed
