Went in after getting a book that was slightly damaged via click and collect at Glenelg, I asked if I could check another store and they said yes so I came to Hyde Park. Nadine was immediately very rude, stand offish and told me they didn’t have to take back damaged books. I explained it was damaged when I bought it and Glenelg had said it would be fine for me to swap it with them. She said that wasn’t possible and I said I’d like to speak to the manager. The manager was on lunch but Nadine went and spoke to them and came back just as rude and unwilling to help. I said I’d wait for the manager as I had already gone to Glenelg and now driven there. She called Glenelg and I actually spoke to there manager who was very helpful and friendly and trying to organise a solution (unlike rude Nadine) but I explained I didn’t have time to return to Glenelg and really just wanted this issue resolved. The Glenelg manager told Nadine to swap the book and send the damaged one back to him and Nadine gave me the undamaged book as if she was doing me a huge favour. She explained she didn’t have to do this and I should know that they’re going above and beyond for me and ended the interaction as rudely as it began. I work in customer service and was disgusted by her service and that I as the customer was getting blamed when I was given a faulty product. The book was $80 which is no small amount and will never be returning to this store and will urge others not to either

The staff here are fantastic and for such a small shop the selection is good. Also nothing is too much trouble - if they haven't got it they'll get it. I also like that the staff are interested in what you are buying and they will tell you what others have bought in your genre. Sometimes it does take a while to get served - this is no fault of the staff - it can get busy and at those times can be a little understaffed but this doesn't stop them giving great service

I rang to ask if they had a book I was looking for and they did, which they graciously held for me. Parking was a pain but it is a great store with some really nice books. I even found an extra book I didn't know I needed $88 dollars later and now a member of the booklovers club, I'll surely be back! Friendly service and would recommend to all book lovers.

Shout out to Nadine at Dymocks Hyde Park, she is the most amazing worker I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering. She went out of her way to find a book for me, ordered it in and even dropped it at my house. She was extremely kind and helpful. I couldn’t thank her enough. Such a beautiful lady and her passion and dedication to her work is inspiring!!

Rang late yesterday afternoon for a cook book. Not in print any more. Offered to hold 4 books for me until the end of today. Went this morning and they were there behind the desk I was even offered a chair to sit on and look through to make my decision. Nadine extremely helpful through the whole process. An extremely happy customer.

They didn’t have any interesting books and what was said to be in stock was not would recommend dillons nor ward instead they have much politer staff and an accurate website with a larger range. At dymocks the staff were rude and the range was minimal I would thoroughly think over coming here …

Went over to get a book for my daughter. Was asked to pre-order it. Only to get the actual book a months later. Staff was patience enough to answer my queries tho. They also assisted to msg me once the book arrived. They told me tt there was a delay on the publisher's side of shipment.

Always very helpful staff at all Dymocks stores. Had to return a purchase today from this morning and Andrew at King William St was very professional and helpful with the refund. Also such a wonderful store to browse for your titles you maybe looking for and to find new ones.

The staff in store were lovely and very helpful, though their books are often more expensive than elsewhere. It has much better service than I have experienced with Dymocks online, (which I found very disappointing when I had a recent problem).

Wonderful to have a book shop in Hyde Park. What i really appreciate is the largish area at the back of store for children's books (perhaps a few bean bags, Dymocks?) and staff who engage with the books they stock.

Not overwhelmingly large, quite small really but quite a rich collection. They didn't have the book I was looking for, but directed me to where I could get it. And even got the other store to hold it for me.

We liked the tunnel into the kids area near the counter. Some good childrens books there if you're looking for the big well known authors but sometimes more unique books you can find elsewhere or online.

The staff are wonderful and warm, they love to talk books and always happy to help you when you have a question. They will always go above and beyond to help you find the book you want!

Went in to get some presents for my family -2 and 4year olds. Asked for some ideas, received some qualified advice on the most suitable books for them. Great service!

While the selection isn't the largest due to the size of the store., staff are always helpful and friendly and will order in anything they don't have in stock.

A proper local bookshop always with very helpful service and nooks to sit and read or wait. Would have given 5 stars if they had some books on graphic design.

Got some great new books. They didn't have everything I wanted in stock, but I was able to order the other books today.

I went in, picked up a book i had ordered, and left. They had other books... I believe that makes them a good book shop
