My husband and I really enjoyed the Christmas special tour we took on 8th Dec. Our guide, Eden, was very knowledgeable, we sampled some interesting food and visited interesting places off the beaten track. The Christmas market had only just opened when we arrived there, so it was slightly lacking in atmosphere, but was interesting all the same. Our guide helped us get back to Potsdam where we were staying, on public transport, which was much appreciated. My only criticism is that the tour was advertised as including two berlin bottled beers, a berliner weisse cocktail and, as it was a Christmas special, mulled wine, mulled beer or eggnog. The only alcohol we actually got, was a mug of mulled wine each and a 0.5 litre bottle of beer shared out between four in paper cups.

Our booking could have canceled because there were just two of us, but instead we probably got the best tour ever! The food was delicious. It was great experiencing foods from the different cultures represented in Berlin. The drinks were equally as great and may have found new beer drinks for my cousin who didn’t like beer at all. However, the best part of the tour was Clara!! She was so knowledgeable about the history of East Berlin, Berlin in general, and the various war times in the country. She was patient with all of our picture stops. I can’t express my gratitude enough for showing us a unique piece of Berlin history!

Carla was an absolutely brilliant guide on this tour, and took us through some really interesting parts of East Berlin I would never have got to see otherwise. The food stops were excellent, both in terms of variety and the quality of the food - I’m a veggie so really appreciated the fact that I was catered for, even with vegan currywurst and schnitzel, it turns out that there are loads of vegan options in Berlin. And we tried some great beers on the way.Thank you Carla for a brilliant day, I would have absolutely no hesitation in booking another tour with you!

I went on this tour with my friend and really enjoyed it. Be ready to learn a lot about the city and have plenty of food/drink. We asked loads of questions and Clara could answer them all. Overall, we were really impressed by the thought that was put into all the stops on the tour. I would recommend doing the tour at the start of your stay because you will probably want to revisit some of the stops and the history you learn from the tour makes exploring the city afterwards particularly interesting

It is my second time back in Berlin. A beautiful day and what better way than to spend 3-4 hours exploring Friedrichshain in East Berlin… tasting the eclectic food (not just Currywurst!!), enjoying some local beer, street art and people-watching around Boxhagener Platz, while learning about the history of Berlin. Clara was knowledgeable and engaging. We were shown places like the RAW area where the locals hang out; places where we wouldn’t have gone to otherwise. Thank you for a lovely day!

We had a wonderful tour on Saturday that included an old time Christmas market. The food stops were varied and reflected the multi-cultural aspect of Berlin today. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. His command of English and his understanding of the area and its history was exceptional. He was able and happy to answer any and all questions that were put to him. This tour is a great introduction to an aspect of Berlin that the normal tourist would never have.

What a great way to explore Berlin, a little off the beaten track, and packed full of tasty treats. Our guide Clara gave us a great overview of the culinary melting pot that is Berlin, sprinkled with plenty of history and the chance to see lots of Berlin’s famous street art. We sampled some great examples of food and drink that the whole family enjoyed. Our teenagers enjoyed it as much as we did and I would recommend Eating Europe to anyone visiting.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food tour today. It was a lot more than a food tour. Eden was a fabulously interesting guide who gave us a very comprehensive overview of Berlin. We not only learnt about food, but about the history, traditions, and social challenges, insights into everyday life in the city, street art and graffiti, and the Christmas market. What an amazing afternoon. I’m enjoyed every second. And the food was delicious!!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Berlin, especially for the first time, and looking to try some local cuisine. Our tour guide, Clara was super knowledgeable about the history of Berlin and extremely personable! Excellent tour combining both great food from cultures all around the world, local beers, and impressive knowledge on the history of Berlin. Clara is an amazing tour guide who kept us all entertained and knew so much about Berlin! Very much recommend, especially since you get the chance to explore East Berlin, which is less touristy and gives you a chance to see more of Berlin’s local life.

This was a fabulous afternoon. Clara our host/guide was knowledgeable, fun and kept things going at a nice pace for the whole group. The venues were welcoming and the food and drinks spot on. It was hard to pick a favourite but if I had to would have been the Shawarma. I would recommend to anyone travelling to Berlin to find an afternoon to take this tour!

A great food tour taken through East Berlin, stopping at a total of 6 places. Edan provided great insight into the history behind the food we were eating as well as the political history of Berlin - along with some interesting graffiti knowledge too. The food was delicious and the portions were just right, leaving us full and satisfied. Would recommend!

Clara is a warm and knowledgeable tour guide that was super accommodating to our group. One of us didn’t drink alcohol and the other doesn’t eat meat, and this wasn’t a problem as each stop was able to work with our needs. If you’re all about the meat and beer, you would be well taken care of too. Would highly recommend this tour with Clara!

We had a wonderful time on this walking food tour! Our guide Clara, was very knowledgeable and gave us a good history of how the foods have evolved in Germany as it was rebuilt after the war. Everything we tasted was amazing burn food and drinks. She gave us great recommendations for the rest of our stay in Berlin. Would highly recommend!

The eating Berlin tour with our guide Clara was delicious and fun. She was very knowledgeable about the east Berlin area, ordered tasty food and was fun to chat with while we ate. Highlight of the trip! Our tour guide was amazing and showed us a unique prospective of the area. So interesting we actually came back the following day by ourself to explore more deeply some of the areas she pointed out. We were featured an amazing array of delicious foods and cultures. It was quite an experience.

What a wonderful tour! Our guide, Clara, set up an eclectic menu. The lessons in diversity of East Germany were enlightening, as were the numerous historical sites. We loved the street art and seeing the Rene ants of the Berlin Wall up close. Clara was an exceptional host. We enjoyed every moment. Do not miss!

Excellent food and history tour with Clara. I learnt so much about the immigrant populations that live in Berlin. Clara showed us amazing sites across the former East Berlin. the choices of food was brilliant and Christmas market was lovely. We were so lucky with the weather as the city was covered in snow!
