Good evening. I have great concerns of your hospital and the general behavior and attitude of the staff in ward 9. My father has been admitted last night and i am unfortunately in kzn, my brother has been at hospital but due to covid, visiting is not allowed which is completely understandable, however my concerns are as follows i have been calling non stop to get information regarding the general condition and current state of my father. Unfortunately the nurses and staff on duty are absolutely rude and have no telephone menners what so ever and slam the phone down in your ear when enquiries are asked about my father, thier excuse is they cant give any information out of any patients so this begs the question, if we are not allowed to visit our family thats admitted and no information is allowed to be given to family over the phone how do we know weather our loved ones admitted into hospital is doing ok or if there are any serious problems with them? Why are the nurses so nasty and bluntly rude on the phone this is a huge concern following if they this rude on the phone and have no telephone ethics then how is our loved ones being treated or elderly spoken to in person this is absolutely disgusting behavior and should not be condoned, the next time i call i will be recording the conversation and taking this matter further as i am sure all patients have the right to be treated in a human decent manner and family especially immediate family have the right to know how thier elderly is doing. I am very disappointed in service received in Gp province hospitals and certainly know this does not happen in kzn not even government hospitals as staff are trained and all well mannered, it took me about 22 minutes on the phone just to find out wich ward my father has been placed in and this 24 hours after his been admitted then phone calls on numerous occasions has failed to provide me with any information regarding the well being of my father. Please look into this matter and train staff accordingly as had this been anyone of your family members im pretty sure the tables would have been turned much differently. Kind Regards Dwayne Barendse

I was transferred from JHB General to Edenvale Hospital Tuesday Morning @2h00. Super impressed. I had an abdominal wall abscess. They diagnosed very fast, took blood, x-rays and a CT scan was done promptly. Booked to theater Wednesday afternoon. All the doctors in the theater are extremely friendly, understanding and explained in detail what they are going to do. I woke up in recovery, feeling relieved and thankful. The sisters and nurses in Ward C were friendly and on call. They managed my pain and checked my vitals with regular intervals. The doctors and interns were competent and explained the next step in detail. The Superintendent came around every patient everyday. She made inquires to our current state, gave advise and made sure that we were looked after. I have no problem with the governments hospital system. Security is top notch and well managed. Slept well as I knew that all patients are safe. The hospital is super clean, our ward cleaner was so proud of his work and did it with a smile on his face. If you are a patient patient and you follow the system, you are in the best hands. Take care of your own food, the care given is 5 stars, at the price you pay, you can feed yourself. They changed my diabetes meds, showed me how to take care of the wound and a follow up was booked. Thank you Edenvale Hospital for taking care of me when I really needed it. #edenvalehospital #govermentservices

Actually Minus 20 for a score Terrible Today is a Sunday 21 Feb 2021 I was badly Assaulted yesterday I have been to Police Station waited a while and opened a case about 12h00 Came straight to Edenvale Hospital about 12h10 arrived first phase went slowly but am still waiting to see the doctors for a J88 form to be filled in 5 hours and twenty minutes later. Security Mpeta excellent, efficient, kind and caring. Doctors staff just plain rude and speak abusively when asking questions Reception staff not adequate and one woman cheeky no not cheeky just downright rude. I came from far by bicycle am injured and sore Need J88 form completed and there is NO assistance from Doctors The care for very ill patients like a man with a head injury and other injuries and kept collapsing is atrocious Queues if beds but NOTHING HAPPENS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND NOT EVEN CLEAN People who arrived 3 hours after me are being seen to. I just asked doctor who says he's Dr Ramstsa when I will be seen to and said I have been waiting over 5 and a half hours to be seen to His answer ' five and a half hours I was at home' I too want to go home I waited 7 hours to see a Doctor The final Doctor was really good and he was a Super interesting person.

I took a family member into casualty as he was vomiting a lot of blood and in terrible pain. He was left on a stretcher in a corridor for hours, vomiting blood which I had to clean as there was no medical staff to assist. He was then admitted to a ward. The nursing staff are so rude, not at all interested in helping (doing their job). They were very rude to him in the morning after he was admitted as he had been vomiting blood during the night and there were bloody tissues all over his bed and on the floor. They refused to pick it up and told him to. Three days after being admitted he is still vomiting blood, in a lot of pain and no diagnosis has been made. Besides blood tests, no scans to determine the cause of the pain. When I asked the "sister"in charge for more pain medication I was told that it was out of stock and would only be available the next day. When I told her that was unacceptable and that I was not leaving until he had been given pain killers she very reluctantly went to another ward to get it. When I left, I heard them all mumbling that I was complaining. Why are these people in the medical profession when they arent interested in helping the patients ?! Shame on you Edenvale Hospital nursing staff!!

My wife is 7 months pregnant and she is attending her antinental care at this hospital. She arrives at the hospital at 0445 hours every one day of the week for chech ups. From morning the doctor will only arrive at 1200 oclock noon, attend to 5, 6 patients then asks the rest to come back the next day. If you are unlucky to be sent to the so called machine (NST)apparently it takes an hour per patient. So from 12noon only 3 or 4 patients will be attended to then the rest asked to come back the following day. The nurses are so rude they hardly make a conversation with you, if you ask a question the answer is "are you here because you are sick or to ask question" The toilets are filthy like there's no night cleaner, the cleaners only come in at 1000hours. Only 1 toilet paper is put in the morning, when it runs out that's it no more paper for the rest of the day. I wonder how it is in the labour room, delivery room! The hospital has only 12 beds by the post natal department. The hospital has no resources at all and the staff members makes it extremely worse. We have no choice but to go to the clinic.

Horrible horrible horrible. Arrived 4 am as we were told, only to be told at around 3pm to return the following month coz they can't assist us now, we then return at night ,Doctors(one particular)refused to assist my partner when we got there around 7pm. The doctor said he can not attend to him because such cases( broken ankle, which was swollen and very painful for him) he only attend to them during the day only(he's addressing us outside), I then asked if he could prescribe pain medication, he gave him something for pain not to reduce the swelling. Two day went by, without being assisted properly, they lost his file and x-rays and didn't want to attend to the issue. They admitted him eventually but but kept postponing and removing his name from the list of people to go for surgery without proper explanation. The frustrations we going through is just too much to bare. I can't mention everything here but there's more to the story , just not the correct platform to explain. As we speak he's still in there frustrated.

I was admitted to Edenvale hospital on the 07 May 2022 and the lady with a ponytail at reception was rude and refusing to assist me saying I should go to the clinic whereas I was bleeding. A gentleman at reception jumped in and assisted me with kindness and humility. From there my experience was pleasant from Dr Mentor at casualty, the day shift nurses at the gyna ward were God sent (nurse Elaine,Anakie, Mathebula) they were all friendly and willing to assist. The night shift nurses at the gyna ward needs to put some effort and learn people skills, they seemed grumpy, unapproachable and unpleasant to be around. The doctors at the gyna ward were professional, helpful and knowledgeable. Dr Mndawe was also kind, helpful and easy to talk. It was my first time at a public hospital and my overall experience was good. I would like to thank everyone who made my stay bearable under difficult circumstances, may God bless you. I will recommend this hospital. Great job . Thank you.

I had the worst experience in this hospital in 2020, we took my father on thursday around 8 with ambulance n the paramedics were not helped so they had to leave. My father was on a wheelchair n had to find a stretcher n put him there. I opened the file and left my dad since it was Covid I was not allowed in, after few hours I went inside to check if he was attended then I found him on the floor, lying down on the floor. I don't know who moved him on the stretcher. He was only admitted a day after all along they were treated on the passenger. I can't remember the section he was admitted too then after some days I went there n no one knew where he was... I tried calling and no one answers their calls, bear in mind the visitors were not allowed. Even after he was discharged he was still not well, couldn't even walk on his own. Unfortunatelly few weeks after we lost him

I genuinely had a very pleasant experience with this hospital when I went to birth my child a few days ago, I must say I was very concerned because of stigma associated with public health but my expectations were surpassed. From the nurses at antenatal, to nurse Precious at the Sonar room, to nurse Matshise at labor ward to the nurses at nursery they were all kind, even the ladies who were serving us food did it with so much grace and kindness. I was really blown away. For someone who had used a private hospital before I would say there wasn't much difference, just that they're under staffed but they really try their best to treat patients with utmost respect. Thank you to everyone who made my stay here to be stress free.

  • Jacqueline Rodrigues

I wouldn't want to stay overnight. Some of the staff can be quite rude, but you get the care you need. The hospital requires more cleaners and sanitation. There's no level of urgency when someone is in pain or in need of urgent care. You can sit for many hours waiting to see a doctor, be prepared to take a whole day off if you need to see a doctor, unless you are in urgent need and go to casualty. Affordable if you don't have medical aid. X-ray department is excellent and very quick! The doctors I have met thus far are lovely and helpful as much as they can be. The hospital needs to be cleaned and painted nicely and it would make it a much better place for staff and patients alike.

  • halatedzi jessica

Staff highly unprofessional.leaving patient unattended and not delivering on what they say and thus in most instances leaving patients for long durations of time unattended, unchecked and in grave pain. If we're going to be medical professionals, we made an oath to serve and help those with physical ailments and if we find ourselves in a position where we are not able to fulfill our promises or deliver on what we promised then, we better leave our jobs for those willing to dedicate all their effort and time without complaint because at the end of the day we are useless to those who desperately need us and it will be doing the society a favor if we quit.

  • Nonhle Shabalala

Good service I recommend them I went there on the 10th (July)2023 around 1am mind you I was coming from Midrand but they Assisted me and also explained that they have one theater room in case of emergency. The nurse did all the test that was supposed to be done in a pregnant woman and admitted me with warm hands unfortunately I couldn't deliver natural I had to do a C-section I waited since they have I theatre although I was in pain but the doctors were taking care of me and the baby until I delivere on the 11th 6h46 am a healthy baby girl The Doctors love their job and they still respect the patients and taking care of them Keep up the good work

It was my first experience at a government hospital. We rushed my dad there on a Sunday morning. Fortunately it was not busy. Nurses, assistants and doctors were very quick to assist him and ensure he was being stabilized. The lady at reception helping me fill out forms was very friendly and understanding of my shock, she was kind enough to let me take a few minutes to gather myself. The inside of the casualty section was clean and neat. The doctor assisting us came to talk to us on several occasions and keep us updated. I am truly grateful for everyone who helped us on the Sunday. What an amazing group of people. Thank you.

My father was admitted after testing positive for COVID-19 and was needing oxygen and I had just admitted my mom into a private hospital the day before for covid pneumonia as she was on medical and my dad is not. The night before my dad was transferred to another hospital, his belongings were stolen and as a result, he could not get hold of us. Considering that the hospital staff would not let us see him “due to covid” it is very obvious who the culprits are. If they’re doing this to one patient, they are doing it to all of them. I have his doctors name and surname now and the entire family will be taking serious action.

A biggest thumbs up to a Nurse by the name of Gugu Sibiya working at gynae ward. That Nurse deserves a tripled income. She loves her work and appreciate it very much. I had the supercalifragilisticexpialidocous treatment ever from her after a worst experience I had with the hospital not knowing what was going on with me and my pregnancy. She brought back faith in me and with all the words of motivation I got from her, I'm still standing tall and recovering very well. This world really needs Sisters like her!!!! All the best Sister Gugu. You the best yourself and her colleague Sister Charity!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Well I have to change my view on Edenvale hospital because of one dr that has a spiteful attitude. My son was discharged on 01/04/2021 and never got a discharge form. Going back to get this form we waited over an hour when I complained dr Phoeke decided she will be spiteful and let us wait still longer. I called Allan Peter he said he will find out but after another 20 minutes nothing. The fault was not on our side but on theirs for not completing the appropriate forms. Now we have to waste our time waiting for them to complete the forms that was their lapse. And having to deal with a spiteful dr.

My twin brother and his wife were so blessed to have a son at this hospital, I was happy when I heard it was a boy cause I knew that our soccer team is growing. How ever we got to the Hospital 15:00 since it was the visiting hour, we were told that only the father is the only person allowed to get in and see his wife and his son. It got me thinking now that what kind of a system does that, in our happiest moment we are made to feel like animals. What kind of a law bars you from seeing your relatives from Hospital. I personally think its inhuman. I am so disappointed and disturbed.

  • Talent Gororo

Dear reader ,check the dates and today its 20 January 2022 .you might be lucky if you decide to go and get the best service according to my own experience I cannot or wish anyone go what I went through. I have been there twice i must say at first I had to be patient but the second visit cut all ties I can never go there saying I will be patient again worst service, rude staff and dirty place from 7am till 7pm you will be still trying to get help the worst was that when I was told last minute that there no doctor to help me anymore all I wanted was a covid swap for my son.

  • Loveth Ihesie

Foreigners are been discriminated at this hosipal as they are asked to pay for delivery at the maternity the sum of R8000 for normal delivery n R11,000 for ceasereal. Most of the foreign nationals are unemployed how are they going to face such drastic rule. My sister in law is almost due but stressed coz she n her family are struggling to feed let alone have such amount of money to pay to the Edenvale Hospital. Africa is one, discrimination will take us no where.be your brothers keeper.we are serving thesame God who allows sun to shine on the JUST and the UNJUST.

  • leon tony carvalho

How is this a health facility!!! The building requires maintenance: the main entrance sliding door is off the rail that keeps it in place, the ceiling in most of the wards have water damage and are collapsing. The toilets are out of order with broken porcelain urinals, the hand towel rack has no paper nor there is soap to wash your hands. The reception area which is the same location as per the broken sliding door is freezing cold and you can imagine mothers and babies waitng in this cold space. Some of the air circulation units have visible dust particles.

  • Karen Schoeman

I am very upset as many people speak of this hospital as the best. we reside in Boksburg and a family member has a serious problem with her hand. I phoned there just now and the quality control person could not give me sufficient info on the procedures. for this family member of mine going to the OR Tambo hospital is a no go. People die there. my advise to this hospital is to appoint people that has the qualifications to assist a person when ever needed. and to all the other hospitals out there. stop refusing medical care when most needed.

  • Bernice Lee Devagopaul

This Hospital should be closed down . The staff feels has if they are doing us a favour in assisting with medical .Is this not what us as the people actually pay for with our TAX. How do you employ such incompetent people .. Doctors (Dr Zungu )slamming doors on patients face ,is that what you teach your staff to do ? After waiting for over 6 hours to be attended and to get such a treatment . You give a 5 year old stretchers with no medication and feel you have done your job . Disgusting SERVICE!!!!!!!!! You should just close down .

  • Dine Imamou

Gave birth at edenvale they said my baby was very tired and that I was over due and it was a teenage pregnancy they tried by all means to monitor the baby they didn’t not induce me or anything and they didn’t want me to give birth on operation said it’s not safe for me because I am only 16 years they treated me as a young girl and I gave birth my pulse and bp were very high they continued monitoring me it was dr mdlalose ,mrs masuku and mrs dube I think love this hospital and the food is very nice the wards are very clean

  • kgadi raselomane

It was the first time in my life going to public hospital i had the most horrible experience ever, nurses were rude as usual and i was told Birch acres is not serviced by edenvale yet a day before i made a call to find out if they do service birch acres community and the answer was yes. I end up going to private hospital and paid cash because their services is exceptional as compare to public hospitals.employees at Edenvale hospital need to be taught Batho pele principles clearly they do not know anything about it .

  • Hans Fourie

I would surely give the doctors 5 stars. But the normal staff and the state the hospital is in i would not give half a star. For a hospital it is overly dirty. The hospital is over exhausted with sick people. A bit under staffed and the sisters are rude. Your dad is dying the doctor say the family can stay with him then the sister over rules and chases you away like a dog. Way to treat a family when their dad/husband are on death bed. Shameful government department. What can we expect from government employees.

  • Ziyaad Ally

Being told that I wouldnt get seen to. Because I went. To the toilet..that theres alot of other patience and I can report him he doesnt care told that I left my house to come to him he did not call me yet I was refused to have water or let me know what was.going. went for xrays asking the staff member how long would it take the response was I dont know I just push beds...seriously going for medical attention and being threatened shouted at kept telling me that im being difficult.....

  • Mercia Louw

I gave birth on the 12 August 2019 at Edenvale Hospital and I can't be more grateful with the help I got from the nurses there. From the moment I was admitted on Sunday afternoon nothing but only good services was offered if we talking Ubuntu then talk about the nurses from the Maternity ward. The hospital got so busy and they were really working hard but it didn't change their attitudes towards us still as kind and caring all the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Lynette Hewitt

Outpatient, received very good medical care. They attend to about 200 patients daily, hence first come first serve. The level of care for cardiac patients is excellent. Radiologists are fast and efficient so are the dieticians very helpfull and giving high level of service. Agreed you have to wait your turn at the Pharmacy, however they're dispensing high volumes of medication, every day, all day long! Excellent value for money if you can't afford medical aid premiums.

  • Zuziwe Chiya

Worse experience of my life.last year 2022 i gave birth there, most people die in hospital premises due to carelessness of stuff arrived, including senior doctors. I arrived at the hospital on Thursday earlyhours. I slept in floor for two days. I was 40 weeks pregnant. We went to the ward late on Saturda n we were told they will attend us on Monday, went through alot that hospital n thanks to my sister who intervained I fought on my behalf, udoti wesibhedlela

  • Migz

Chickens are running all over in this hospital... After being dropped off by an ambulance you are basically left to die.. we had to go there and fight to get help while the lady was going into hyperthermia they didn't even have dam blankets. Best part is this ENTIRE hospital cannot do a simple blood transfusion so she had to be transferred to another hospital. Please don't use this hospital, you will die unless you have family to fight for your life.

  • Dananai Mubonderi

I had a great experience. Quick in and out. I’ll definitely give 5 stars and more to the following: the young man at the door(didn’t get his name), The lady at the entrance in the ask me bib, OPD department- Sister Baloi (smiling, welcoming, helpful and patient human beings!) Gynae ward( I met one rude elderly lady). It doesn’t help to be rude and it takes nothing away from a person to be nice n kind especially when you work with and around people

  • Marischa Claassen

Dr Dodd is great but the filing department is useless everytime i come here they have to create a new file because they lost the one they opened a month ago and you cant show your frustration because the staff is so rude and will make you wait longer. My last experience was In May where the lady kept the duplicate file after I paid the fee, had a full on chat with the friend and after she was done she turned around and only then handed me the file

  • desmond zackey

This not a hospital it's a farm to my wife to the c section was all.excited to meet our special they made her wait 3 days with no help . There woman sleeping in the passages like sheep they had been there 1 and a half week with no help . I took my wife to jhb gen and in 4 hours she was taken in to give birth. All I can say is edenvale hospital and their staff are all rubbish including their doctors they are all useless never take a dog there

  • Onodwa Mazwembe

Recently gave birth at this hospital and I must say I had a smooth sailing experience. I’ve always feared public hospitals however this particular one handles people with so much care from the onset moment till you leave. The place is clean and the nurses will take care of you , they do get overwhelmed at times as expected with all public hospitals but I can ensure you it’s a perfect place to give birth if you want cheaper alternatives.

  • Thembie Tshuma

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the nurses that truly helped during my time in Edenvale hospital special thanks to Mary Gama who was my Ward nurse truly she took this job with passion, l wish most of the nurses could learn from her. Unlike other nurses that feel pleasure in shouting patients telling us how underpaid they are for working so much time. Overall thank you Mary Gama for your patience

  • Nina Lambon

My brother was rushed to hospital yesterday - delusional from dehydration and unsure what else. No doctor has been to see him and the nurses and so incredible rude. Oh and the chicken running through the hospital was an added treat. Clearly going to the media is the only way to highlight the despicable health 'care' this place offers. So so far and breaks my heart my brother is having to endure this 'treatment'

  • Didier Kapinga

The medical service is okay, however hospitality is a problem. Nurses and nutrition staff usually eat patients foods. In the morning patients receive porridge and bread but fruits are shared hidingly between nurses. COVID 19: My wife had 1 mask in the morning, was admitted and stayed all night and next day with the same mask while nurses open boxes and put masks in their bags. It's a pity for us black workers.

  • Fadzai Chawanda

I was there in the maternity ward 06/02/2022, and all i can say is there are a few bad nurses who are very very rude and are tanishing the good works that majority of the nurses are doing there..i wish i remembered the name of the nurse who maltreated me when i first arrived However i would like to give special mention to sister Dladla and sister Mokoetsi ..you guys are amazing and may God bless you abundantly

  • Jobeka Mabaso

Admitted on Monday, gave birth via C-section on Wednesday. Had thee best sisters look after me in the Post Natal Ward. Sister Thato, Sister Mary, Sister Kwena thank you so much for the love, support and care. Much appreciated. My only problem was Sister Modiba!!! Talk about a vile unprofessional woman. As old as she is, sies. Overall didn't have a problem with anyone or anything else but Sister Modiba.

  • annie mfolo

I would like to give big thanks to the Anti Natal sisters They are professional and friendly and also at the Labour section and together with the doctors at the theater The only BAD AND HORRIBLE service I got was at the babies section by the sister name Modiba, that sister she's so unprofessional m rude to patients even her colleagues were talking about her how bossy she is

  • Brian

I have to give credit where it is due, since the last time one of my family members were at this hospital, it has vastly improved with new beds, bedding, cabinets, cubicle curtains, repainted, etc. the staff is very friendly and professional, and the wards and toilets are very clean. Well done to Gauteng Health. The hospital was previously in a horrendous condition.

  • latoya mthethwa

Worst maternity and labour experience ever!!! I’m 29 weeks pregnant and started experiencing abdominal pains. They had 1 doctor working, I’ve been here for 8 hours and haven’t been checked. I could be losing my baby right now and no one cares. They won’t let me leave to go to another hospital nor will they allow my mom or partner in. I haven’t even been admitted

  • Patricia K

My Mother was admitted early yesterday evening. Despite being both under staffed and under resourced, from the time I spent at the hospital every staff member I encountered was very pleasant while working tirelessly around the clock to try and help all those in need. Some of our private hospitals could take a lesson or two from Edenvale Hospital.

  • Ellen Lebo

Wow I’m so impressed with the service I got from Edenvale hospital my 4 month old son was sick that I thought he was dying but when I arrived the doctors attended him so very fast everyone was around doing their best and they even asked specialist to help and she did her best too to save him thank you Dr Bafokeng I will never forget keep it up!!!

  • Nicolene van der Linde

My son has been in this hospital after getting hurt at work. I must say from all the bad reviews I heard and read, the service he received was more than I have expected. There were a few issues, but it was addressed immediately. Thank you for good service, there is room for improvement, but with Covid and the stress from it, the staff do try.

  • Nivi govender

I want to give thanks to edenvale staff honestly i have been to the hospital and at the time I could not walk my sugar was high pressure high doctor Dan in casualty treated me with the best treatments the nurses was helping security even the dietician was great thank you all for making sure I could walk ,thank you god bless you doctor dan

  • Chantel Steyn

Thankyou to the nurses and Docter on call. Even security and admin to cleaners and porter for all youre help Saturday evening 25th November. Friendly demeaner and assistance made a world of difference. We are so gratefull for the service. Especially Dr on call for being so kind to my grown up daughter Laura. Bless you all and thankyou

  • HMB

The hospital is very dusty and it smells bad. No proper cleaning has taken place for years. The walls need to be repainted with quality paint. It looks like an abandoned hospital. People will be there for hours to get tested and receive their medication, so they have to take days off at work. You can do better than this.

  • NHLANHLA NDLOVU

i would like to take this opportunity to thank all the doctors and nurses from Edenvale hospital, my mom contracted the covid 19 and she was admitted to that hospital, their service was exremely excellent and the cleanliness was excellent, thumbs up to Edenvale hospital crew keep on doing the good job, God bless you all

  • Carly Kgao

I was rushed to hospital yesterday after I fainted at work in the morning only for them to refuse to attend to me and I ended up having to leave and go to the nearest doctor around the area because the nurses and doctors at that hospital think we owe them favours nxa, those people don’t care about anyone but themselves

  • Refiloe Mathibela

The worst hospital in the whole world there is a nurse called sister modiba she has traumatized me even now I can't sleep because of her I was helped by one doctor called Dr Manana she is perfect very kind and she loves her job sister modima I hate you I was there to deliver a my child we slept on the floor

  • roxanne smit

Took my dad to casualties because he was choking. The man can barely walk or breath yet they expect him to stand in a line with over 150+ people just to take his temperature. Staff are rude, more people half dying in the queue that what are being helped. Disgusting doesnt even begin to describe it.

  • ngoakoana nkoana

It was my visit to the hospital and the service was exceptional, from the reception, to the friendly nurses, and the hospital is very neat.... However I would wish for the doctors to be more human and explain, especially the one I saw, it's like he was in a rush and didn't want to listen to me.

  • Phumudzo Martin Mulea

3 years old young man with a cut on his face, that needs scissor. He's bleed enough to be regarded as a emergency. Been here since 4pm ow yeah atleast they gave him a badage. The pain my son is feeling right now while we wait on the que 17:34, wish i could trade it an feel his pain...?.

  • Nombulelo Mtwazi

This hospital is truly blessed to have Dr Kalala, she was very informative and am grateful for that. She explained everything about my child`s case , now i am fully aware of what is actually happening to my child, by the name of Sinothando Precious Mtwazi. Keep up the good work Doc!!!

  • SIA Dlamini

Really had a bad experience, nurse’s they talk the whole night and not doing what they are hired for. That’s why most of people are dying. Beds with blood and dirty wards. Not talking about visiting hours they say from 3-4pm but they chase you out before 15min. Mxmm

Came in for stitches and possible concussion from a fall. Doctors and nurses were very friendly and helpful; I was stitched up and sent home good as new within 2 hours in the casualty ward. The medical field is a tough as nails profession, mad respect to you all.

  • Mohammed Javed Jeewa

Under the circumstances, my wife had a relatively good experience (Maternity Dept). Some nurses don't know what they are doing while others were nice. Like any other government hospital it's just your luck on what experience you get. Good but can do better.

  • Hlulani Lyborn

I would definitely say my wife had an amazing experience during labour and after, the nurses that were working nightshift helping her give birth on the 9 March 2021 at 00:20 am were extremely good to her.i don't know their names but I'm extremely grateful.

  • juanita victor

I went today to see the doc (first time at goverment hospital) must say the staff was excellent had a great experiance. yes it is a long wait so take a book with. but the staff and fellow patience were so great and helpfull throughout the whole process.

  • Nelly Jamila

I wish I could give them more than 5 Stars, they're service is out of this world from the Casualty to the Gynae Ward...you just need to be patient because the hospital is always in its full capacity but when you get help you do. Thank you so much ERH ♥️

  • sasha-lea reid

No social distancing. Filthy. Toilets have urine on the floors and dont flush especially in the ANC. Women are expected to pee in unwashed and unsanitised urine cups. Staff are rediculously incompetent. The worse is how unhygenic this hospital is.

  • hlengiwe Manzini

Very poor service from the nurse I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I went there because of my BP was high came in the morning till 9pm no one attended me so I decided to go. They don't even bother to check if you're OK,two people gave birth on the floor

  • Amy Cousins

Very fast service, staff on duty kind and careful not to hurt more. Although only in casualty the staff were awesome. I witnessed a person being abusive because they weren't fast enough, recently had to deal with private hospitals and the

  • Leigh-Anne Harrison

I went to visit someone yesterday at the hospital in Ward 5 and I was so impressed. The nurses were friendly, the security, at both the main gate and in the ward, were helpful and understanding, the place was clean. All the patients were

  • Leocadia Dlomo

Very poor and disgusting pharmacy service. I queued for 4 full hours just to get simple folic acid tablets. Something must be done about this hospital. It's like they are forced to do their jobs. They lack young and energetic individuals.

  • Shelley Watson

Extremely rude security staff / us come to deliver food and they said no they will take it. Of course I'm sure the patient would never get it - thus after the nurses said Sunday could take it to the nurses station and phoning hospital.

  • Sophia Kgokolo

I'm just gonna say what is in my mind cause what they are saying about this hospital I never experienced any of it,I gave birth in this hospital in 2010 & everything went well,as we speak I'm pregnant & there is no other place I Will

  • Kamogelo Monyepao

I've never came across problems from staff or anyone in the hospital. It's a gud hospital especially labour ward..it's the best my experience there was the best ever from the treatment to the hospitality. I didn't want to leave lol.

  • Shell Bells

Receptionist not friendly or professional! But when we got there the rest of the staff that we encountered were super friendly and helpful. Because of their kindness we were able to find my dad, who we couldn't get a hold of.

  • Justine Schultz

Apparently collapsing and losing consciousness doesn't constitute as a medical emergency and got told by the doctor at casualty that we were wasting their time and sent home with Panado. Disgusting service to say the least.

  • Reshika Ramlall

A family member is being admitted here Severe memory loss She is in such a bad condition Not taken care of by nurses They not checking the if she ate or had a bath I mean we only visit at 3/4 This is a serious concern

  • Xavier Bapoo

Although it's Government run, it's actually one of the better hospitals in JHB, good team of specialists. No dentists, no psychiatrist. But Nutritionist, Dispensary and ER are very good. Xray dept is super well run

  • Tristan MacKenzie

the doctors aren't the greatest the nurses are nice and for the most part well informed the administration department is very disorganized security terrible and unhelpful and the procedures are all over the place

  • Miss Sadie

I have has the worst experience in this hospital , when I was in labor I had such a traumatic experience , when a nurse left me right after I had given birth without stitching me or help me dress my daughter.....

  • Chami Baddiel

Shocking reception. No one to ask. Chaos. Ppl can get more ill being there afew mins than the reason why they came there in the first place. Doesn't seem the hospital has ever gone through any sanitisation.

  • Enjoy Mogotlane

Worst place, how do patiens sleep at casualty next to the toilets. They told us that Wards are full. They left us in the cold, had to get my own blanket.. the treatment was just bad and disgusting really

  • Mpho Mahlaula

Worst hospital ever .. the maternity ward has woman sleeping on benches and not being checked.. I shed tears waiting for help which I didn't get .. They only help when you screaming your lungs out ..

  • Cleandra Grey

Maternity ward was good nurses were excellent from the delivery room to the ward toilet clean ,challenge was the whole ward had 1cup on water dispenser during these covid times was there July 11/21

  • Percy Seboco

The hospital is so useless when it comes to giving the necessary and desperately needed care. I brought in a patient through referral from the outside doctor, the patient is unbearable pains.

  • Kgadi Raphiri

Great service from start to finish. Dr Mamba from Casualty and Dr Naidoo from Gynea department and staff. Thank you. 4 star because of the water shortage other than that it would have been 5

  • Carlos Reis

It was fair , you need to ask for help from somebody so you know u in the right line but after that it seems OK. The line at the chemist will take on average 60min which is good time to wait

  • Monika Povey

Cleanest government hospital I have ever been to. My sons arm broke and they did an amazing job with putting it in a cast , the waiting time was long but couldnt complain about the staff.

  • Avril Osman

I wish to express my thanks to all the staff in Ward 7B. They were extremely professional and respectful. Special mention to Gloria (night duty) for her kindness. Keep up the good work.

  • Lesedi Kungu

Best service ever from the sisters in gynae ward and friendly, the doctors as well they very gud.sister mogano and her team, sister nxele and her team thank you guys so much❤ …

  • Tammy Doig

Shocking service, no real ICU. A friend passed away because of a simple cold that was not treated correctly. Short supply of resources and meds and staff are not adequately trained

  • Adele Robinson

Maternity ward was pleasant despite being under staffed due to covid. Most of the nurses were helpful and extremely friendly and did their utmost to make everyone comfortable.

  • Rita Raetzer

Really have never have experienced so much help from any other hospital. My husband had to go for a peptic ulcer. The doctors and staff are so caring. Thank you

  • mbally mkhize

Reception area the staff is very rude and unhelpful I had a very unpleasant visit on the 24th /01/22 I'm very disappointed. Doctors and Nurses are perfect.

  • Tamryn Gobatti

Clean which is nice because you wait LONG to be sent to another queue. Staff don't know what they are doing in an emergency. No management.

  • enia emmanuel

Great service from the time of arrival admission and discharged I highly appreciate,Thank you Edenvale hospital and all staff members …

  • bonnie coleman

After the help and care i received i have to say no matter how tired and overworked overwhelmed these nurses are they try their best

  • Nikki Joubert

The staff and doctors are very good and I would not go to any other hospital. SR Jackie and her High Care colleagues are fantastic

  • Lazarus Vukeya

Quick questions can you admit a sick person for 3 hours ? And ist possible to discharge a patient at 00:00 midnight .

  • Faith Mathe

I’ve always doubted public hospitals but the ladies at the gynae ward did a great job and assisted me great nurses ❤️

  • Carmelle Mirza

ED staff (nurses)are rude and unhelpful. Hospital is not busy. They dont talk to you properly. Take their time.

  • Joan Don

Terribly busy. Very long wait from asking for your file to seeing a Dr. Actually 5 hours to get repeat script.

  • Boulder Snail

No staff. No beds. No equipment. They left my sick grandmother to sleep on a bench. What's the point?

  • dikonketso mosoma
