I attended this location around 2 pm to provided my typed witness statement and dashcam video for a hit and run I witnessed last night. I went to the main windows (when I say windows I mean built proof glass) where the actually police officers were sitting but I was told I had to check in at a window behind me. Behind this other window was a Comissionaire who looked like she hated her job. I told her why I was there and instructed me to hand write my statement on a duplicate form she had me. I tied explaining that I already typed up my statement and tried to show her. She REFUSED to look at it and pointed to a counter where other people were filling out various forms. I went to the counter and there were no pens and decided that this was BS and a waste of my time. I spent time last night composing the statement which had ALL the same info the form was asking for and then some more. I went back to the woman who seemed to hate everything told her "I find this to be a pointless use of paper and my time." Slipped the form through her slot and left. I attended a different divisor and they were IMPRESSED I came so prepared and never questioned my typed statement. I typed the statement so that I wasn't wasting my time filling out the stupid form and that the details were fresh in my mind. This is what happens when you have private companies that are contracted out in government offices. What a waste of my tax dollars.

Went in to fill out an accident report at roughly 6pm today. The lady at the desk told me I was wrong and had to come back with an estimate even though the dispatch line had told me to just come down to a station and make a statement (Apparently the people who answer the dispatch line are civilians she said and that they dont know the process, kind of funny that the people answering calls don't know how things work???) After explaining that I don't have collision, therefore will not be taking it to a bodyshop until my insurance tells me to, she said I had an attitude problem and i would have to wait for someone else to help me. The next cop that helped me took my statement right away, asked to see some pictures and a few more details, gave me my copy of the report, statement and my damage sticker without any hassle. 3/4 people working the desk tonight all had attitude problems as I watched others being treated in a disrespectful manner. One of the uniformed cops told a civilian to leave his personal info unattended while they looked at his vehicle, his reasoning "if a cop tells you to do something, you do it." I'm sorry but I wasn't aware there was a law that made them able to do whatever they wanted. They're supposed to uphold the law, not treat people like garbage for no reason.

Had our block shut down due to an investigation, and i couldnt find any officers at any barracades or find anyone to help direct me. Found a way to my house to see if my family was ok and every officer showed up yelling like i did something wrong. I explained my situation, was told i could leave and when i did got told im getting a fine for not following an officers directions. Along with a good blast about how wrong i was. Its one thing to totally mislead and then another to blame me for your lack of direction. Weather was completely wet, snowy and icey, there were 4 cars with lights around my house and i couldnt see anything let alone drive fast. I was accused of speeding off at 10kmh, and not paying attention to officers and one lady yelling and swearing at me said i just about ran over her foot. I wasnt issued any fines only threats, when i asked for names and badge numbers i was sent off. This made an absolutely horrible day grueling not to mention enforced my lack of trust.

In 2011 my employer started producing photocopies of my signature to prove to WCB that there was no work place injury, I was fired for wandering off and Im making it all up. The EPS told me that anything to do with WCB they will not accept any complaints. Then they laugh and hang up. After years of relentless bureaucratic SNAFU, the EPS still refuse to even consider taking a complaint about my employer. I filed an email complaint about their refusal to consider, within 6 minutes some GIP emailed me back accusing me of just wanting more money. I replied that I am talking about identity theft and didn't mention money in any way to him. He said he was going to forward it to the big GIP in the office. That was 5 months ago and his professional standards are such that he hasn't bothered to even send me a 1 word email. Trust in the government and its lawless justice agents = zero

Made sure that they continued to widen the gap between themselves and the civilian population that pay Thier wages. Managing to break more laws then they are able to protect that seem to forget the original reason the oath they taken extend past the day they swore to it. The oversight for unprofessional conduct to be investigated by fellow officers is the biggest conflict if interest that has no real fair chance to ever find a group of people any wrong doing when operating under absolute power for absolute corruption. Don't ever say there is the odd one that's good, when that same one turns a blind eye to doing nothing about the others that are bad. Don't get me started in what civil forfieghture is arbitrary fund generating unjustly executed.

Have had some vandalism recently. They were quick to take a statement. Although not successful in finding out who is responsible. Weird considering it happened two nights in a row and I told them I believe the perps would be back the following night. Calling in to see if I can legally install motion lights on a public sidewalk as this is apparently the best defense against this kinda thing. So If I get a fine I have proof that I tried. Edmonton police are really quick at giving giving traffic fines though so that's good right? Update: gotta pay the city for a permit to install motion lights. Everybody just seems to want your money and not help. Greedy world we live in

Terrible experience. Went in to get a police information check 2 weeks before I needed it. The officer dealing with me barely looked at my application, seemed like I was annoying him. He did not fully look at my form to ensure it was all good, he was too busy looking at is buddy's computer who was looking at a new car. Did not confirm my address (as it was different on my license). I then had my application sent back a week later saying I missed a signature. Now I have no way of getting one on time and have had significant repercussions due to not having a police information check on time.

BEWARE ! I called the police about a noise complaint at 4:30 am and the police DIDN'T show up ! After 4 hours I just GAVE UP HOPE. Fortunately for me I wasn't being held up with a gun or long knife. I bet it doesn't take 4 hours or longer to get to Tim Hortons or McDonalds. I'm very lucky to be alive ( that my noisy neighbour wasn't hunting down neighbours at 4:30 am with a gun ... since it is someone new to the Apt Bldg ) Does anybody know whether or not police just dismiss a phone call after a particular time frame has gone by ? It appears to be the reality of the situation,

Called in a drunk driver and the lady who took my call was absolutely rude. To the point where I almost wanted to hang up. I couldn’t give an exact location as I was driving and she was very short with me when I had only given her the street number and not ave . She also cut me off multiple times to say I didn’t need to tell her “the whole story” when I was just describing the vehicle. Keep in mind guys, the people calling the police are probably not the criminals. So some reciprocal respect would be nice. Actually pathetic.

Was driving the other day. I was doing absolutely nothing wrong. Was going the speed limit, wearing a seat belt, had both hands on the wheel. A police man drove past me, looked at me, and pulled a illegal u-turn and proceeded to pull me over. Not only did I feel this was racial profiling at it's highest, but I also felt absolutely betrayed by the people who are sworn to protect us, not harrass or pick on. After he ran my name, I was able to leave. Worst Police service in the history of Canada

Thousands of cars on Edmonton road are driving around with burnt out head-lights, expired license plates, without snow tyres, with tinted windows, driving and smoking marijuana and other drugs, driving and involving in road rage and parking improperly on public roads. Our police paid by our public not doing much other than staring at their cell phones. Their radio's cost around 5 thousand dollars each and instead of not doing much they can get busy, patrol our roads and make them safer.

To all you who don't like the police...Who else works through the holidays with the potential of being shot? Bet it's not the person sitting in the cozy heated office sipping on a fresh coffee when it's -30 outside. These men and women don't have to get up everyday and put their life on the line for someone they've never met...they choose to, and it's those people who make a difference in our world. So next time you think 'I don't like the police' compare your job to their job.

July 21/20 I called the Edmonton Police from Nova Scotia because I had been unable to contact a relative afflicted with medical issues and I was concerned for their well-being. I was extremely pleased with the respectful, caring concern I was treated with. Within 2 hours I had a return phone call from the Constable, who had spoken face to face with my relative, assuring me he was OK. I thank all involved for excellent public service.

  • Farai Magunje

I just want to give a big shoutout to the officers that closed the station last night for they're level of professionalism at work. Cst Lewis gets my 10/10 for listening and I liked his approach to my case and the time took listening while explained and the relevant information . I was expecting to be there for at least an hour, and it only took me 15min. Well done EPS

  • Monika T.

I just wanna give a big shout out to the staff here. They deal with a lot day in and day out. When I went in they were extremely friendly, professional and timely. Our police service deserves a lot more credit than they get. They're making our streets a safer place and from what I've seen we've got some good ones who don't discriminate and are just trying to help

  • Maxmed

The worst police service in Edmonton. I went to ask simple question , it was verifying a document I had if it was legit or acceptable as criminal record check. And this old dude freak me out. He did not even answer my question or checked my document. "He was like take this form, fill up and pay $48". Like I asked for it... Ridiculous!.

  • C ashworth

I just wish one of them would take a serious look into my stolen bike. I have a suspect, video footage, time, date, security witnesses, actual witnesses!! I dont understand why Im being brushed off so badly? Like its perfectly ok for criminals to steal 1000$ bikes with zero worry of being caught or punished!! …

  • Harvey Skow

We would like to thank EPS for everything. I am not going to mention names on the net but many from central and the south were so excellent. And a thank you to victim services. And when you cross the pond on vacation [R.M] have a beer for us. Every time I see a cruiser or uniform, I think of my daughter. We salute EPS

  • Kat S

In regards to this location, very poor service given by rude and dismissive officers. If you need to go to a station for something avoid the downtown one. Grumpy female officer behind the window you have to check in with won't even let you finish sentences.

  • Tre Free

Hyygard subs. Mmm, my favorite. Beds are a bit stiff but work. Your stuff is secured in there safe. Hard to get out before your scheduled depart time. Good security, unlikely anyone will break in. More than enough staff to help you out.

  • Kieran Devine

after 8 month investigation, they claim that I just need to appeal what to WCB what WCB says is a customer service issue and not appeal-able. Lawless swine cant recognize any crown crimes due to the crown code of corruption.

  • Chrisdyna Mudcricket

Unique photo background was only reason for the visit....such an amazing structure. The response is wonderful considering we just left a visit with my father who died 2 days later- hence the saddened looks..

  • Roberto Salas

Useless people that are only there to protect the government and the wealthy. Poor customer service. Not sure why they would even have a customer service line if they can't even help out with your problems.

  • Richard Russell

It's very frustrating having to deal with the level of incompetence displayed by the Edmonton Police Service. From harassment to failure to investigate crimes, I really wish we had the RCMP here instead.

  • Tyler Griffin

Yeah so it seems your department is pretty open to social media right now its getting a decent amount of attention, so i hope you do your job and actually investigate this incident!

  • ANGELA Boucher

Found a coat full of needles, drugs, keys. Police line said bring it. Desk officer unhappy I was wasting his time it. Just trying to do the right thing. Sorry for bothering you.

  • Justin Ng

They prefer giving people tickets rather than Protect and Serve. Seriously driving over the double white lines which I had no idea as it was covered in snow. Instant cash grab

  • Nancy Jimenez

I just saw a police officer on 104 st helping a homeless with his bicycle So he can keep moving forward with a bag of recycling Go EPS …

  • Trystan Schrader

They arrived 6 hours after calling in, did not accurately police the problem or lay criminal charges as they should have. I would suggest calling stony plain RCMP

  • Jesse (1KinG)

They are wack. I ride a bike and my wheel came off the ground a bit. Automatic stunting ticket. Ya, see you in court you (insert choice word here... )

  • Faisal Gillani

A beautifull building well kept safe and sound but out side area is really need to improve.a lot homeless people and others.quite scetchy area.

  • Mark James

May God richly, richly bless the men, women, and canines who wear the precious blue and protect our lovely city! :)

  • Jacob Gronowski

Just witnessed a police vehicle run through 2 red lights without flashing lights or slowing down. Complete clowns.

  • Jose Jimenez

Harassing behavior comes second nature to this police department. Minimal knowledge of the law. Egocentric.
