Warning Sensitive Content… Emory Hospital has to be the most insensitive Hospital on the planet. This place is a joke. Where do I begin. I will start with the Triage Nurses who call security on patients who obviously need help. I witnessed a man in need of treatment being treated like an animal by the triage nurses and security. The kid was definitely on some kind of drug and needed treatment. The tall head of security was being gentle with him at 1st, but when shifts changed he directed his security staff to go in to get the kid out of the restroom. The kid came in there dripping wet and clearly the only thing that calmed him down was warm water so he stayed in the restroom. The security guard with the broken foot handle him so inappropriately and used profanity to get him out of the bathroom. They told him “ he had to go” I immediately was in tears.” The kid said. “ You guys know I need help and you’re kicking me out.” The security and Triage nurse who called them didn’t care. As the security guard passed me I told him “it’s really messed up that you guys are kicking him out and treating him it’s so inhumane.” He laughed and kept walking. As I was going to the back the kid was laying on the front entrance floor with 3 security guards surrounded by him and the lazy triage nurse was there too as he pleaded for help. Not cool. When the nurse took me back I pleaded to her to help the kid. I had recently watch a patient who claimed to be a surgeon get fast tracked to the back because he had abdominal pain. He didn’t look sick he just wanted to be accommodated before everyone else, but this kid that was in so much pain and couldn’t get any help, but get treated like an animal get kicked out. She got mad at me and pulled the curtain back. I get it it it’s a hard job and they tired but that’s what you signed up for. No matter what no one deserves to get treated that way. Also this place is filthy. When I got to back they didn’t clean the room. I had someone else’s urine in my room. I was there from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and the only good thing about my visit was Shemika a traveling nurse from the Bahamas t she is a Gem. Especially cause I can tell the other nurses bully her. She really was the highlight of my visit and handled me with care. All the triage nurses the whole freaking security staff and the immature gossipy, unprofessional nurses in the back need to go. They talk loudly about patients have no regard for Hippa and most importantly aren’t compassionate. I own a spa and I deal with surgery patients all day and I’m so patient and caring. This visit hurt my heart for the patients that come in there. Especially if they get treated like this daily. The only security guard that was nice and caring was the woman with the dreads. I definitely will make sure no one gets treated so inhumane at Emory again.

Dear Emory Midtown Administrator, I am writing to share my recent negative experience with one of your staff members, Adelaide, who was responsible for facilitating my father's transition to rehab. I hope that by sharing my experience, you can take appropriate measures to ensure that future patients and their families do not have to go through a similar situation. Adelaide failed to effectively communicate with mother, which resulted in unnecessary stress for her and my family. She only provided a list of one facility that would accept my father for subacute care, despite there being several other facilities in the area. Unfortunately, the recommended facility had a poor reputation based on Google reviews and photos, and this caused my mom even more stress. When I requested the list of all available facilities in the area, Adelaide failed to mention that the other 14 facilities had not responded not that they did not have space, which added to my stress levels. Moreover, when I took the time to call all 14, I found three other facilities that had space to take my father, one did not have space and I left messages for the others. Adelaide did not seem interested and asked me to choose one without providing guidance or assistance in making the best decision for my father's care. The level of stress that Adelaide put me and my family under was unacceptable, and it was made worse by her statement that "he had to go somewhere or home." Home as an option is threat when we know that is not an option for the level of care my father requires. The fact she would have us opt for the worst facility available and not the best care is unaccetable and made an already stressful situation worst. I urge you to take appropriate measures to ensure that your staff members provide clear and accurate communication with patients and their families during times of stress and uncertainty. Patients and their families deserve to be treated with empathy and respect, and I hope that my experience can be used to improve the quality of care at Emory Midtown. I came into the ER June 27th 2023 at about 1am. I am currently still here so I’ve seen a lot happen 8 hours in.. The way these ER nurses and staff address and speak to the people who are sick, and in pain is ridiculous. They act like they don’t want to be at work. They acted as though they were annoyed. The faces they make when a patient ask them a question. It’s been ugly the past 8 hours. The nurse drawing blood and doing the EKG, with the long curly hair called three names.. the third name she called needed a wheelchair so she told the lady she would be back for her. She never came back for her. She moved on to others in the waiting room. The lady asked her what had happen and why didn’t she come back to get her and the young lady said “oh I didn’t forget about” in the ugliest way. She STILL never came back to take the lady back for blood work. There was a man sitting in the ER since 8 o’clock the night before according to others around him and the staff didn’t even know it. The staff thought he had “checked himself out” meanwhile this man can’t even walk and is hunched over vomiting, barely cohesive. The staff is not behind and seems to be losing track of what’s happening in their waiting room. The attitudes and lack of sympathy, lack of urgency was disgusting to watch. The entire staff needs to be retrained on what they were actually hired to do. You’re get into a field like this and have the audacity to treat people like this. It’s sad. Never mind what I have going on, I feel bad for the others being talked down on like they are less than. Emory in Druid hills will be where I go from now on. Please get a new staff or retrain the crew yall had on schedule for the night shift June 26/27th. Absolutely ridiculous. There was no communication it seems between the night crew and the 7am crew. Everybody was out the loop. I get this may be ER life but how things are being handled, how these sick people are being talk down on. Patients being forgot about. Shame on you Emory midtown

Wait and die! This is the situation at the Emory Midtown Emergency Room. If you complain because you’re in pain, face arrest. I’worked in hospitals for over 25 years - patient care is provided within boundaries, guidelines, protocol and ethics. At. EMORY ER- Midtown that is not being honored. Six hours— 6 hours my family member waited- He is a quiet gentle man in his 60’s with several chronic health conditions and he is followed closely by his PCP. However he was hospitalized two years ago and was experiencing same symptoms and went to what he expected to be an an A- B+ Emergency Room in a World Class Hospital But that was not what he experienced. After 6 hours w/o any triage ir treatment he notified me and I called to alert the ER staff of his HBP and other preexisting conditions and the issue of his PAIN at a 10 (and the chance that the pain could increase his HBP putting him at risk for another stroke.) My son speed to hospital after trying to contact them on the way - and spoke to a rude triage nurse there and as he tried to assess the situation when he arrived , - the triage nurse called security who stood by. This is not the way to run a hospital. I understand that they’re used to homeless unemployed substance abusers showing up in the middle of the night. - but that’s no the way to treat them either. It has been a disgusting experience. Thanks God my son took my ex husband to a different Emergency Room where he was met with professional, respect and care and admitted within record time.

My issue is with the Emory's OBGYN Department. I have been a patient for years with the OBGYN Department to get my pap. Previously, I did not have any real complaints except for lack of availability scheduling my next appointment. My issue primarily started when I became pregnant. It has not been the best experience. I barely see my OBGYN even when I schedule appointments with her. I no not understand the point of having a primary GYN if you never see or speak with them. Also, maternity visits are conducted by different nurse practitioners and OBGYNs for each visit and the reason is, so you can get to know different doctors because you cannot determine who will actually deliver your baby. The issue is there is no one person or doctor to direct questions to. Additionally, later in pregnancy, it is recommended to see the doctor every 2 week and then every week. However, there is no availability to keep that schedule. Once you do receive an appointment you can expect to wait for a minimum of 30 minutes for a 15 minute appointment. Most recently I waited 1 and 15 minutes to see the doctor. Due to the wait, the doctor offered parking validation. However the receptionist informed me that the person who validates parking would not be back for another 30 to 45 minutes. In general I am very unhappy with Emory's OBGYN department and often leave my appointments feeling frustrated and like I wasted my time. I so far into my permanency I am praying labor and delivery will be a better experience.

I had my first child here and I must rave about the labor and delivery department. I was scheduled to be induced at 37 weeks due to my risk of preeclamsia. My night nurse McKenna was so attentive and open to my birth plan and what I'm open to doing. She remembered me and make sure i was in good hands when they go to a shift change. I was further glad that the day nurse Sandra was very sweet to me and also help me out during my labor. It was a very painful first experience where somethings don't go as how I thought it will. I am so thankful for McKenna and Sandra for being there to support me and be open to any concerns I was having during delivery. They both made sure I was OK and informed me throughout the whole process. The special thing is that I was about to give birth in the middle of their shift change and they were both hands on deck and got me stable and steady till the doctor got there. They both were there even though some of their shifts were over. I honestly feel like they were both angels for me and my baby. They truly love their job and care about their patients. Sandra even caught a hemorrhage I was having after I gave birth and made sure I was 100% stable before they transfered me to mother and baby department. I am so happy that I choose Emory Midtown to have my first delivery. I highly recommend every mother to come here. They will make sure you and your baby are well taken care of!

If I could give it zero stars I would.Upon arrival I noticed how disgusting the waiting area was. The triage staff was rude and inconsiderate .I explained I was a high risk pregnancy and had special procedures done to ensure my pregnancy went smooth as possible (ignored). I also explained that my on physician wanted me to go up stairs due to my symptoms (ignored) and told everything starts in triage after my blood was drawn I would be sent upstairs to check on my baby (another lie) .I sat patiently for 5.5 on to be taken to a room where the privacy curtain didn’t function properly and was being held together with a glove literally. The doctor came in and said oh your dehydrated according to my labs.I reminded the doctor of my concerns and condition and was told you will be waited on in the ER and all work up will be done here.Again I questioned what about the baby and the dr on staff said well is it still in your uterus.I answered I would hope so.The doctor left and I waited another hour and a half in a room with no privacy wondering how am I supposed to be seen if everyone could just walk by and see me still no ultrasounds or fluids just a bunch of ghetto staff members Talkn bout doordash, 90s hip hop cursing and all kinds of inappropriate behavior.Just a ghetto hot mess long nails and lashes coupled with negligence and attitude..

This is the 3rd surgery, 2 back surgeries and 1 knee replacement my husband Quin has had at Emory. When it comes to Doctors, staff and medical care our experience has been above and beyond. The professionalism, care and successful surgeries is what make us come back. (Hopefully not in a long time) This is the only reason we continue to support Emory even when we live out of state. But when it comes to facility itself like lodging and meals it has more to be desired. They don’t keep up with the cleaning of floors and trash in your room( it took 3 days to take the trash out)the outer part of the trash container was stained and dirty. The rooms are outdated and private bathroom on the 7th floor(7116) had horrible urine smell that I wouldn’t allowed my husband to shower. When I brought it up they put so much Clorox that we had to keep the doors open for ventilation. I’m sure they could find some cleaning detergent not as abrasive and armful as Clorox and some smell pod in the bathrooms. The food is the most unappealing, disgusting, cold and tasteless I have ever seen. You never got exactly what the menu says. We believe that part of the healing process should be in par with healthy appealing choices and good nutrition. As much as they charge Emory should thrive to be the finest on every level. I have never been a patient at Emory but my Aunt was transferred here from Valdosta. Honestly, Emory saved her life. The doctors here were super knowledgeable about what was wrong with her and the care she needed. The Coronary Care Unit has to be one of the best in the city. My aunt received a lot of detailed care during her stay here. Whenever I had questions they were happy to answer them. They explained everything thoroughly. The hospital itself is huge. It's a campus. Most people enter on 550 Peachtree Street side but the patient tower is easily accessible on 35 Linden Ave NE. Recently I tried to enter on the Linden Ave entrance and it was closed stating that entrance is now used for employees only. I sat outside and waited until someone exited and I walked through the door. The security guard explained that it was closed. I explained to him I was not able to walk around the entire building and the walk through the building to this side. I told him to consider me handicap. He said that was not something they thought about. It was all good. He said he would bring I up with his supervisor. Good deal.

Man, if you can avoid this hospital avoid it. But then all of them in the Atlanta area have become like this one. I’m not really sure where you should go. I went here @7:45p 12/29 I did not leave until 6a 12/30/22. I did not get to see a Dr. When I went back for X-rays ALL the beds were empty, nurses were standing around in a huddle (chatting) “meeting” while the waiting room was over capacity, with people vomiting, a woman came in with large blood clots falling from her insides, and it took forever for them to get it cleaned up. They brought a man who reeked of urine and was soaked in his own pee. They sat him right down next to the rest of us and just had him cursing and screaming at everyone. It’s just totally gross and unsanitary. I left after being that over a full shift and still did not get to see a Dr. I am taking my lab documents and heading to my primary care. There were some awesome overworked staff there that helped. However the entire system is sloppy, unprofessional and unorganized. Good luck and many prayers if you have to go to a Hospital in the Atl area. They are all BAD

I arrived at the emergency room on Monday 1/23/23. They asked me what brings me in today. I told them I have gall stones and I have been having a lot of pain on that side. The nurse put I had abdominal pain on my paperwork. I sat up there for almost 11 hours and all I got was my blood drawn and my vital signs taken. I told them that it hurt when I sit down. They didn’t care they kept making announcements that they were working hard to get everybody to the back. The security guard was very rude his mouth is really smart. I also witnessed a young lady having a seizure they took their time getting over to her. They took her to the back and brought her right back to the waiting room. These people don’t care about nothing. Just because one hospital closed down that don’t give them the right to treat people any kind of way. If you don’t like your job just quit. Whoever the head person is you need to check your staff. I bet you wouldn’t treat your family like that. I left and came back the next day I checked in at 905am and I still got the same treatment. This is not fair. This is ridiculous.

Don't pay medical bills that the government should be paying for. Not when we spend so much on war and protecting corruption. Legally you don't have to pay medical bills, they can just sit on and on, none of my medical bills has ever affected my credit score in the last 10 years, and they just disappear or get written off I can't access Healthcare. I'm disgusted by people who think it's ok for our "low cost healthcare" to have so many barriers blocking people from using it, Usually the people who qualify for it can also afford normal insurance, which is even more disgusting. I go in everytime I get a cold, because my medical conditions explode when I get sick, I've come close to death too many times, I've woken up with amnesia, it's just all pretty dark My medical costs are dirt cheap though and keeps me alive, but, The cost of GETTING treatment, is about 4-8 times more expensive. I don't care, if anyone is mad, if it causes trouble for people who aren't dying. I don't care. As long as my neighbors are healthy even if they have nothing else.

Poor service! I came in through the ER this afternoon with really bad chest pains and shortness of breath. I received great service from the ER but when I got to the floor everything went terrible. From the 2 month new nurse who’s never seen a doctor come talk to a patient before 7 and a respiratory nurse who wants to fight about my treatments. I asked for a head nurse around midnight and surely 5 hours later I’m still waiting to talk to one and as I sit in the hospital I’m being told to take off my own EKG stickers and monitor that was put on me by a Emory nurse. At this point idk if I’m the staff or a patient. I had to call the hospitals operator to be told the Charge nurse will be up “after rounds”. I wonder is that after 7am too. I understand the 3rd shift may not be the best but when patients come yo your facility it is for care and nothing more. They say the protocols are different per department but don’t communicate with the the patient when they are being moved and treatment has already been given one way and totally changed.

I took my granddaughter here she was running a fever 104.8.. I was first told by a nurse that the hospital don’t treat children so I needed to go somewhere else… secondly when I get checked in and goto the room assigned to us…the nurse that started working with my granddaughter said I’ve never work with a pediatric patient before.. and then another nurse said even if we admitted her we would have to transport her to another hospital and who wants to go through the trouble.. last but not least the first nurse (Briana) she attempted to take my granddaughter’s temperature and told me it was 98.7 ?? Red flag.. and then she said ooh take her home and give her popsicles!! so, I checked her temperature with their machine and it clearly shows 103.1 my baby was misdiagnosed never ran any test (I clearly explained that she has asthma) besides a Covid swap and I was told even if she has Covid we’re sending her home this is not the last you hear from me instead of Emory it should be called “ghetto central”.. worst place in Georgia..

By far one of the WORST experiences of my life in an ER setting. 16 hour wait in the lobby with staff clueless/helpless for any updates. Zero urgency for care. Professionalism is absolutely NOT required or even encouraged. Staff members doing TikToks in the lobby while having extremely vulgar conversations. Security was rude did not hesitate to cuss at people in the lobby. Advice: if you are going to be abrasive and physical to someone for not wearing a face mask, perhaps you should lead by example before exercising your authority-put your own face mask on. I have never in my life seen healthcare so worthless, so careless, distasteful, unorganized. Having worked in the medical field for many years this hospital brings shame to all things related to medical. I wonder how many millions this ER makes on co-pays from people never seen because they get tired of waiting. Do yourself a favor and drive as far away as possible from this hospital even in a critical emergency need! It may mean life for yourself

I was abnormally ill and was afraid of dehydration. My head felt as if it were splitting in two. This was the closest ER to me so I went. It was a full waiting area with little to no staff. The triage nurse took over 6 hours to give me nausea medication, even thought they knew I had to frequently run to the bathroom to heave. Or medication for my headache, even though I explained my symptoms and pain level. I was kept in the waiting area for over 12 hours in order to be seen by a doctor with other seriously ill individuals. They almost didn’t do any tests to see what was wrong. I had to ask if they were planning to do anything in order to help me. I was finally taken to the back after the new shift of physicians came into work, and told to sit on a gurney in the hallway to be seen by a doctor. The chat with the doctor took all of 15 minutes and I was sent home with no actual instructions on how to help myself and discharged home. I will never go there again for any purpose. Terrible service.

In the pass year, I’ve had two major surgeries here. I have no complaints about the nurses, they did an excellent job. My second surgery my family was not here to advocate for me and my stay was completely different. My second visit went downhill immediately after surgery. I waited hours in recovery for a icu room. No one told my family where I was for hours and I didn’t have my phone after surgery. My doctors didn’t listen to me and I had complications from feeding tube ( I didn’t get nutrients) for almost two days! I was told I didn’t qualify for rehab even though I have no support and I’m struggling just to give meds! No idea how I’m going to feed myself?! I was discharged after 6 pm and my Kaiser pharmacy was closed. I had a very difficult time to track down medication (narcotics) with this level of pain. I can barely speak without constant pain.! I was rushed to be discharged and I have insurance. I’m praying after talking to my Kaiser team that I don’t have to go back here.

Hassan Monfared makes you feel like you are wasting his time, but will have you come in for a procedure then wait 6 hours before telling you that they forgot to schedule you!How awesome right?Well that happened more than once. When we finally got the procedure done, holy cow did he not care about hurting me. I have gotten this procedure done by other doctors and it was a walk in the park. I don't know what he did, but it felt like he was stabbing right through me everytime. It was practically unbearable.Then once this is over, I ask him and Emory for Statements daily for two weeks. They keep telling me they will send it and never do, but I needed it for my insurance claim. They could care less and kept lying to me over and over again. I get mad and lost my temper on a Support agent which I shouldn't have done, but when you are spending thousands and everyone at the hospital has the IQ of a potato chip, it gets hard to remain calm. At least he sent me to collections immediately.

If i could have given no star i would have!!!! This place is a big joke!!! There is absolutely no help when assistance is needed!!! ON THEIR SCREW-UP!!!! I had a MRI done a month ago. They never sent the images to the Doctor's office or to me. I called, to make arrangements to personally pick up the images on disk. I was bounced from department to department for hours!!!!!! Finally I was told picking up the images in person was not allowed, I would have to go online and make a request. I made a request for the images 4 times!!! 4 weeks in a row!! They keep sending me all the forms i filled out online along with my Identification that I uploaded!!! ALLL USELESS INFORMATION!!!! They also want to bill me for the requested images. The ones my insurance company paid for already and we never received!!!! BOTH Emory and their partner CIOX HEALTH are at fault!! I will be reporting them to the better buisness bureau!!! I'm also looking into taking legal action against them!!!

For an ER experience, this hospital was wonderful! I did end up waiting a bit in the lobby but they made it a comfortable experience. When I saw the doctor he was thorough and efficient, very knowledgeable and seemed like he genuinely cared and took the time to do both physical tests while asking me questions about my ongoing symptoms. He eased all my worry and waited to listen well and also helped me to figure things out in the long run with my PCP and at home with the information he gave me. Even though he was pretty sure that he knew the cause of my pain, he still did a blood work test that I had not yet had done to make sure the inflammation I was experiencing was not related to a worse autoimmune condition. While I waited again in the lobby for my bloodwork results, they had sent me updates on my phone which later included the test results and notes from the doctor. Such a cool, more modern addition to ER visits! I was very satisfied with the care there!!!

This Hospital and the Emory Brand did mean something to our family once upon a time. The Staff was caring and the hospital was organized with or without chaos. Today my Heart fell to the floor as I walked in the emergency room. It is unacceptable the lack of concern for the sick, elderly, disabled, and the mentally challenged. You're (Emory)building new facilities to care for special services, but what about the people in the community that have no where else to go....The Board of Directors,The The Medical Board, and the The Department of Human Services need to work together and try and revise the Service that is sub par at best . Pregnant Women laying on the floor.., sick elderly and disabled men and women just left to hurt for hours and don't even get me started on the mentally challenged. There has to be someone held accountable for the mess of the Emergency Department today. It's totally unacceptable. I won't be back and neither will my Mother.

My mom needed to be admitted to the hospital on Friday, 3/10/23 by her oncologist due to a conditionthat resulted from chemo. She was admitted in through the ER at about 2:30 pm to receive a medication and IV to flush her kidneys. I was told the hospital was packed so it may take some time for her to get a bed upstarts. She was moved to a holding room in the ER around 8:00 pm abs didn't get moved upstairs until 3:00 am Saturday 3/11/23. I called to check on her at 10: 00 am and she had not been served breakfast. I came up to see her at 3:30 pm and she was just getting lunch. Now today Sunday, 3/12/23 at 530 pm she has yet to have lunch!! She did the whole 7th floor had not had lunch! I've worked in the hospital food service and I know meals are served at particular times of the day and this is off schedule. My mother is 76 years old and is at the will of others taking care of her. I'm filing a formal complaint on her behalf.

Emory Midtown was the only hospital in the SE that would accept my best friend as a transfer patient from a rural hospital in Alabama for emergency neurosurgery..Once admitted, everything was expedited and she received the life saving surgery within four hours. I am beyond grateful for not just Dr. Refai (and his resident team), but every single staff person with whom I’ve interacted in this awesomely stressful time. From the parking gentleman who provided me with a seven day parking pass, to the friendly security guard who checked my bag, to the unknown Emory staff gentleman who walked me to the correct elevator, to Debi and Ann, our first nurse and nurse tech, to her recovery room nurse, who called to update me, I’ve been treated with courtesy, kindness and professionalism. Thank you Emory Midtown for giving my high school friend a chance to recover and regain the use of her limbs. I am eternally grateful.

My first experience at this hospital was fantastic on Sunday one of the staff members even brought me food and gave my service dog dog food but today I come in with a completely different injury and they try to force me to wear a mask I'm a burn survivor with 20 percent burnt lungs I told them I would be willing to wait outside the they told me well they are not going to go out side to get you, so I said fine I'll leave... isn't rapid covid testing available for reasons life myself with a medical reason to not have to wear a mask. Would have given 5 stars but today just shot that down to 2 star. I'm not even going to bother going to any of the other hospitals because it's love is raising me medical service they all will abs no hospital has any legal rift to refuse service to any one they should be able to accommodate for people who hate medical reasons as to why they can not wear masks.

My daughter just had the most traumatic experience in this hospital’s labor and delivery facility. I’ve never seen such a lack of care and empathy displayed in the patient check in area! She nearly delivered the baby in the waiting area’s nasty bathroom floor because of their incompetence and lackadaisical attitude. Dr Adams your tenure doesn’t give you the right to treat a patient as inhumanly as you did my daughter. If you’ve become that desensitized than maybe you should consider retirement. Once we were able to get pass that area the nursing staff on the mother baby floor were Amazing. The sad part is the patient check in desk facility is the face & first experience- for it to be that traumatizing is a disgrace to this hospital! You really dropped the ball Emory and I’m going to do whatever it takes to ensure that another patient had to experience such negligence

I can’t believe that this hospital ER is the way it is I posted very getto and rude who every is hiring these employees they need to be fired none of these workers in the ER are caring nor concerned about anyone. They wait time is very long the employees where there name tags turned around so you can’t see there name. There was a patient that fell out in the lobby all the Nurses looked rolled there eyes and waited the people in the lobby started saying help and then the nurses came over. This is unacceptable and all on the cameras in the lobby I am not lying. Something needs to be done. Emory has amazing doctors up stairs. Totally different atmosphere when you go up stairs. The whole ER needs to be fired including the HR that’s is hiring them!!!!!!!!! They took down my last post I will post every day I have the time!!!!!!

I had to have an ultrasound at Emory. I of course was full to the brim, having to drink 1 liter of water before my appointment. I was extremely uncomfortable and needing to go to the bathroom. When I got there the lady at the desk was very kind and made sure that the radiology technician was aware that I was there and full and ready to go. It took about 15 min and the radiology technician came and got me and we did the procedure. The procedure was very quick and although it was really uncomfortable she made me feel as comfortable as she could and really did a quick and what I felt was like a good job. I definitely felt like I was taken care of in a quick manor... it might have felt a little long due to the fact that I had to go to the bathroom but I was comfortable and felt well taken care of.

Mental Health here is a gem. I changed my life because of my week stay here. I want to thank the whole staff for caring, especially Alora F! She went above and beyond even though I may have slandered her. Thanks a lot, guys! You all are too much good. Special thanks to Antonio for being a master diffuser, and a tall light skin guy who said he’d put pictures up in the dining room. They FOR REAL care. Hope I didn’t breach my anonymity, but if I did, it’s worth it. Oh, I can’t forget a black woman who stood about 5’0 dark skinned-ish, ponytail, long natural, glasses always upon face, very assertive looking, no makeup, and a sway that is beyond rhythmical. She made me almost get biblical. No digitalis!? Oh, yes, the facility, and don’t you forget it, too! (I like messing up tenses)

Scheduling an appointment is near impossible these days. If you desire to wait 60-90 days, this is your company. I recommend Piedmont. So far they are two for two. Emory couldn’t see me for 60+ days, but Piedmont docs could see me in one week. In one case they saw me within a day of a request for appt. Emory scheduling reps will tell you with a pure voice “ok, we can get you in . Would that work for you?” I’m over these people. My PCP is now the same way after Emory bought their office. So no more same day PCP visits if they are needed. Emory removed the ability to schedule same day, even if there is room. Now it takes 3-4 months to get into my PCP of 10 years. They obviously have enough customers they don’t need my business. Give Emory scheduling a call and test this out.

The Emergency Room has become a homeless shelter! The waiting area and restrooms look like they haven’t been cleaned in days and Homeless people camp out in the waiting area and are told to leave or sign in…of course they sign in because they are seeking shelter! This causes extremely long wait times for patients that actually need to be seen! This Hospital has gone completely downhill! The staff is rude and disrespectful and would rather gossip and laugh rather than assist patients! I wish I could rate 0 stars because this is ridiculous! I finally left after being in the waiting room for 7 hrs with no progress. If it’s not a life or death situation just stay at home! You’re bound to catch staph infection from all the homeless “regulars” that camp out regularly!

This experience is too long to write here but this hospital is THE WORST!!! Their security is THE WORST!!! Their labor and delivery floor front desk workers are THE WORST!!! They treated my 74 year old mom, my 21 year old daughter and my 50 year old self as if we were bubblegum stuck to the bottom of their shoes. We’d driven cross states for the birth of my first grandchild and it was one of the worst experience ever! My daughter assured me that her next child will definitely NOT be born at Emory Hospital. I would suggest the same for any and every woman that comes across this review. I will post to my social media pages and discourage as many people as possible from utilizing their medical facilities. I will definitely be filing a formal complaint!!!

I am just speechless, I can't even come up with the words other than WHY!! You have to experience my night because you absolutely would not believe me. Been here since 11pm in the ER. I was triaged..waited..final made to the back to be seen and 2 hrs later no nurse &no doctor..hell they won't even assist me in the bed. I was in pain..started feeling like a seizure might happen.. I was told " Oh you ain't about to have no seizure" huh..not why you think that..not let me get vitals.Didn't expect this at Emory.WOW!! It's 4am and I am leaving!!I informed the front desk I was leaving she argued with me I had been sitting in the waiting area,ma'am I been in back. She figured out I was telling the truth.BYE

The customer service here really sucks the first 4 people that I spoke with had the worst attitudes ever. Especially Tierseney E. I had to ask her ws she not having a good day. At least when people are calling in and its concerning their health and well being they can hear someone over the phone whom at least act like they care. Because thats their job right? But after I called back for the 3rd time I had the pleasure of speaking with Ms Miriam who works in the OBGN scheduling department and she was awesome. She get 5 stars from me her customer service was awesome and I had the biggest smile on my face when I got of the phone. Thanks Miriam the world needs more people like you

My experience at the hospital was generally fine and what you’d expect of a large university hospital, including long wait times, problematic billing, and extremely lengthy and traveling within the hospital to get from place to place. Difficult at 9 months pregnant. The doctors are great however, and that’s why we elect to use the hospital. The nursing staff are awful, and the postpartum care was a nightmare. And that is why I’m never recommending this hospital to anyone ever. Just felt like such a nightmare experience with loud, rude and in compassionate night care nurses. My nightcare nurses were awful and unfortunately they’re the ones I saw the most.

I am appalled at this facility. We are in town for business, someone in our group may have been drugged at an event and ambulance brought us here, been here for 4 hours and have yet to talk to a nurse or a doctor. I have asked multiple people and been told they have no beds, this is not a third world country this is ridiculous and I would never wish this ER on anyone EVER. A 17 yr old girl sitting next to me came in with pelvic pain at 10pm and she is in her 1st trimester and was not called back to a room until 6am. Administration should be forced to bring their family and thenselves here until this is fixed. This is completely unacceptable.

We’re currently on hour 13 waiting to be seen by a doctor….this has to be illegal at this point…the ER staff is probably the rudest set of people I’ve ever encountered….I’m literally sitting in the ER right now with blood glucose over 400…and the staff could care less…there is absolutely no sense of urgency to ensure people are being cared for….the security has bullying people our entire time here ….this is atrocious….I would rather go to the worst urgent care than come back here….they advise you not to leave but don’t give you any information while you’re there….they just want the insurance money…

I had a MRI scan on July 15, 2023. It has been over 4 months, but I do not know why the result did not deliver either my medical facility or me. I called them several times, but everything fell into silence even though every time I had to spent almost two hours with them. I also called the patient relationship department, but could not help and one one called me back to give an answer why. They never forget to charge me and insurance company very much high costs, but seem to look like that they are very irresponsible with the patients. I am planning to hire an attorney to sue them about this because it affects my sickness seriously.

PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! MINIMUM wait time for the Emergency Room is 12 hours. It doesn’t matter what’s wrong with you, if you aren’t near death or dead please be prepared to wait. I could barely walk and I waited for 14 hours before I ended up leaving still without treatment. People were being brought in by ambulance and placed in the waiting room for hours as well. This is a terrible hospital!! There is no sense of urgency here. One girl passed out on the floor after hours and hours of waiting, that was the only way she was seen. I can’t believe I’m saying this but honestly I think Grady Hospital may be faster than this place.

I come here every week today was the worst. Ben & Glory at the front desk where so rude and disrespectful. Glory called security on my kids and I for no reason. I came on told them I was going to the wound clinic to get my parking ticket validated and she said I had to many people so to leave my kids down here by themselves. I gave her the really face my kids 7,8,9. Did she wouldn't give me a mask. So I went to sit in lobby ; she cleaned security on me. Then had them watching me. Security apologize after she relised what was going on. That I wasn't doing anything.She had them watching me told them I was gone sneak upstairs.

Best care I’ve ever received! I cannot Thank the hospital enough, but especially all of the staff in Unit 31. Ive had 2 stays here now and both times I had such incredible care that I didn’t want to leave. The handovers In shifts are seemless and happen in your room with you present so that you know what information is being passed on. Medication is on time and the staff listen to your needs and adjust accordingly. The rooms are clean and quiet (with great views), just perfect for post op recovery. I would go back in a heartbeat to this hospital! Thank you Emory Midtown!

Their billing dept is a total pain. Have been trying to clear up a billing/ coding discrepancy for three months. They are charging me for services I did not receive (and not covered by my insurance) and threatening my credit in the process. I am now trying to clear up directly with the Dept of Otolaryngology, since the billing dept rep. said the billing dept assigns the insurance filing code based on the appt visit notes they receive from the doctor/ provider. Isn't it the doctor's office who assigns the coding?? I'm done with Emory. So much time wasted on this.

The nurse on the fourth floor that worked at 7pm on 6/23/23 with the blonde braids had the worst attitude I have experienced. I understand they need to follow rules but when you cannot EFFECTIVELY communicate said rules and when you are plain rude to visitors is where the problem the lies. She kept making snarky remarks as we passed by and to our faces. There are always better ways to handle situations without having to be mean and miserable about it. Brittany (nurse tech) was a pleasure, please let Brittany be the example for this establishment thank you.

Amazing doctors, nurses, and support staff at most all levels. However, I had to deduct 2 stars because anytime you stay over a weekend, it is like Jekyll and Hyde. The quality of care severely drops. It took almost 45 minutes for staff to find both a key to an IV pump (they ended up stealing one from ICU) and a simple drop in toilet for next to the bed. They were out of stock everywhere on the floor. The pro's definitely outweighs the con's. They are the best place to go for a lot of big/scary problems, but try to schedule it only during the week.

My results from my scan and x-ray been back over a hr / half ago, & when asked for doctor attitude & dryness, there is no sense of urgency, I asked if they had ice they said they're not sure, a guy ask to use restroom they asked why he couldn't get up by himself and do it? Some of the nurses care but the rest of these unprofessional nurses need to find another job if you don't like what do then find another job somewhere else your job is to take of these patients regardless of their situation. The night shift nurses be hiding in the break room sleep the others you can't even find until it's time for the shift to change these the rudiest people I've ever seen in my life. The room was so dirty it took the housekeeping is a disappointment to be a major hospital downtown Atlanta this experience over all sucks

My mother and I are currently waiting in the ER waiting room. She was discharged from Winship Mindtown on Friday, while waiting my mother began to shiver because she is chronic anemic. When asked the Charge Nurse for a blanket she was refused due to Homeless people, assure you the patient band was visible also after being informed of her medical condition that was also in her medical chart. Something’s can be understandable from current knowledge of working in a OR in Atlanta but refusal of a blanket to a patient is HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE.

She told me an my aunty that we couldn’t wait in the waiting of the outpatients( which is dumb because it’s a waiting room lobby), which is fine because that’s there rules but it’s was the lack of empathy and tone in her voice for me! Gave birth to my 4th child here and it was a wonderful experience. Never been to this hospital before for anything but when I came here to give birth they cared for me very quickly I didn’t have to wait & everyone was very caring and attentive & reassuring! My labor went smoothly my first time getting epidural they were literally pros! All of my nurses & doctors were amazing I felt so safe with them. The nicu was amazing as well everyone communicates & does their job very very well. Thank you so much

I just got discharged from the hospital today after a five day stay. I was on the 7th floor in room 7235. I received the best care I’ve ever had at a medical facility. All of the nurses, nurse techs and doctors were AMAZING especially my nurse Elena. They treated me with respect and truly cared about me as a person! I haven’t been well for years and the neurologist were able to figure out what was wrong with me. I just want to say thank you to everyone. Now I’m on the road to recovery.

1st time visit, Google maps directions were on spot, parking was easy choice of valet or self parking inside a concrete tower with elevators/stairs paid $8.00 for 6 hour visit. staff were professional, friendly, efficient and accomodating. The establishment was overwhelmingly exquisite, comfortable and pleasantly attractive. Our appointment was handle on time and with ease. I had the absolute BEST birth experience here. I was supported by my doctors and nurses about my VBAC birth plan, which was so amazing since previous ones out of state weren’t and these ladies left me feeling so good and supported after each appt. They kept me so comfortable during labor and were amazing helping me push for the first time. I was able to deliver my baby in under 30 minutes with their help, and they were so loving and wonderful. Seriously come here!!

A family member is being cared for at EMH. Based on my experience, they are doing all they can to solve her medical issues. Medical care in Atlanta is shameful because corporations have monopolized health care. If you have insurance, you can get treated. However, you will come away with a second mortgage due to your 20% responsibility. Take good care of yourself. Without your health, you have nothing. Good people trying to help in a hospital challenged city.

I'm slightly concerned about my visit here. I was sent via Ambulance. I'm 28 weeks pregnant. My EMTs were excellent. I was told to walk to registration. I was leaking. There was no since of urgency. I was sent in a room. My nurses was nice but nothing was done the several hours I was there. No ivs no medicine no nothing. The doctors finally came and verified after several hours I was not leaking fluid. Which was great. But dang. The room was extremely dirty.

MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE HANDS DOWN ! I WAS HOSPITALIZED. For 7 days in room 5141 with acute pancreatitis the nurses and staff was so nice I can not name them all but Donnie, Mrs Rosa, Diana, and the whole floor! I started feeling better the 3day my doctors amazing these people know how to do their job and make sure people are recovering. I’ll never go any where else but here I loved it. This is specific to Labor and Delivery and the Mother Baby Unit. My pregnancy became more risky than my husband and I initially thought. However we were so lucky that Emory was the hospital we chose. There were so many great attentive nurses, doctors, techs, just the entire staff. All hands were on deck to make sure that my baby and I were taken care of and as healthy as can be. We are so appreciative to the entire Emory team that took care of us!

This hospital is garbage on steroids. My Mother had an emergency and she was bleeding from her rectum and she insisted on coming here not via ambulance. Big mistake, for we have just sat in the waiting room awaiting to be called back to see a doctor. I guess they were waiting for her to bleed out. Her first time going to this location for the emergency room and the LAST TIME. NEVER AGAIN AND YES WE ARE STILL WAITING 3 1/2 HOURS LATER

How unprofessional and insensitive to patients.

Never had to sit in an emergency room this long and this crowded as of today. I have severe neck issues and was told to go to the ER due to symptoms that could possibly have spinal impingement. I sat there 3 hours without any word. Never again i left. I was having spinal impingement. I finally left couldn't take it anymore. They could care less. I checked in they didn't even ask to see my driver's license

With me working going to the Hospital pretty everyday… I can not express in words, How I feel about the comfort they provided to her…. You would hope that a hospital would be the cleanest facility to visit. We have a grand baby who is in NICU, so we visit OFTEN. It is obvious to me that the housecleaning department doesn’t work on the maintenance of the hospital. I have seen blood under the same bench on the 2nd Floor for 2 weeks! Safety and cleanliness should be top priority at a hospital!

Everyone took such amazing care of my dad I was so grateful Emory was there for us. Sadly I did take away one star for the ICU nurse Cecilia. Everyone had a heart and compassion for our family. Until we were brought to the top floor the doctor was great but the nurse came in at 1 a.m. and treated my mom like dirt. She was very argumentative and unhelpful.

The staff was wonderful and supportive of the birthing persons preferences! They actually are one of the only hospitals in the area to have a highly sought after “Baby-Friendly” designation (which supports breastfeeding)!

My mother, who's a senior, was treated like a piece of dirt when she arrived in an ambulance. ASHLEY the female that works at the Registration window WAS ESPECIALLY HORRIFIC to her. The bathroom was flooded with water & vomit bags. There were people that were in the EMERGENCY ROOM FOR OVER 12 HRS. THIS IS NOT A HOSPITAL, BUT HELL WITH A DEMONIC STAFF.

Had a wonderful experience with my son's birth at this location! I was transferred from a birthing center for an immediate C-section. They had me prepped and on the surgery table within an hour of arrival. Can't say enough good things about the staff and Doctors that helped deliver my baby boy safely!

Great surgical team and professional staff. The recovery room was in the old building. The room was very small and had a weird smell. There was rust on the toilet, tub, and sink. The hospital bed was falling apart. Great staff. The building needs renovations.

Inpatient and no adequate help due to being understaffed. I found out that I caught Covid and assumed to go to the hospital for outside help, I have MS and Covid made all of my MS symptoms worsen.Few nurses have really helped me despite my Covid diagnosis.
