When I joined Equinox over the summer, I exchanged emails with the general manager inquiring about gender neutral locker rooms for storage and/or showering, stating I am non-binary. The GM Christopher replied that “locker rooms are still labeled women’s and men’s. With that said, whichever gender you identify with, you can use that gendered locker room”. This felt like a slap in the face. A gym that charges $200+ a month should have exterior lockers for guests who don’t feel comfortable using the men/women gendered locker rooms. On top of that, I went to the gym the following week and they were handing out pride EQUINOX bracelets, that included all colors from the trans flag. Having employees tell me happy pride and give me their performative bracelets, meanwhile their general manager couldn’t even respect my gender identity and hygiene/safety concern while using their gym? Ridiculous. I ended my membership immediately.

The newest equinox in the city, but unfortunately plagued with problems. - in half the showers, the temperature alternates between freezing and scalding and doesn’t respond to the shower knob - the main floor is fairly small and gets extremely crowded before and especially after work. Don’t even bother going at 5-7pm unless you want to wait for everything - the steam room is tiny and in half of the seats you are at risk for being burned by the steam machine. Huge safety hazard ⚠️ - the classes are hit or miss. Cycling, yoga, and Stronger tend to be great but some of the HIIT classes are pretty bad (compared to Barry’s) Despite being older, I would recommend the Pine St location over this one. It never gets to the same level of crowdedness, the steam room is fairly spacious and won’t burn you, and the showers actually work.

Got this from a sales rep pressuring me to sign, regarding waiving of cancellation fee: “It will say in the contract if you move more than 25 miles away, but it has now been changed to if you move anywhere as long as you can provide proof in change of address and you can use this text as proof in writing” Called the manager who immediately reneged and said this was not valid. I really expected Equinox to be better than every other predatory chain gym, but I guess I expected too much. Club seems more focused on nice bathrooms than making sure there’s enough workout equipment or class availability. I will say the sample session with a trainer was good. Shoutout Tor, I would train with you if you worked anywhere else.

1) Not nearly enough weighted machines. This gym has limited amenities and missing some. 2) Didn't feel comfortable there. Homeless all around building. Doorman just stays inside and hides. Does nothing about the homeless around the entrance of the building. Tents right across the street. 3) No pool 4) No spa 5) No suana 6) Cold showers most of the time unless you sit there for a minute for them to warm up, wasting tons of water. 7) During COVID times they aren't making sure people wipe down equipment during busy times. People just walk away and they only clean a few times a day. 8) Steam room overcrowded and small, steam room has issues working at times without playing with wall switch. Not safe

I quit this Equinox location due several inconveniences. Namely: 1- it gets way too packed form 7 to 8 am. To the point where there's literally no space to work out. 2- the showers running water goes from hot to cold every minute (even if it's set on hot the whole time), making taking a shower an unpleasant experience. This happened to me every time I showered. 3- the space overall is actually very small. 4- although I managed to leave before my first year contract, they make it almost ridiculously hard to do so. 5- the music on the workout room is really loud, I needed to pump up a lot the volume on headphones causing me headaches.

I usually go to the ones in San Mateo, and Palo Alto, and have amazing experiences there. I just went to this one for boxing class today, and I cannot find anywhere nearby to park. I literally circled around for 15minutes. I called the front desk, and asked about parking lot, they said it was in the building, but gave me an address that was four blocks away. I went there, and it was a totally wrong address!!! I had lost my patience by then, and drove home. Honestly the location and the gym look really nice, but the parking experience killed everything. Never going there again.

Newer, but I find this location to be a bit mediocre compared to other SF location; and is definitely subpar to Sports Club. Really small gym floor is overcrowded at peak times. Facilities maintenance is “iffy” in this location (I.e same water fountain broken for a month). Also annoying, Earthbar is almost never open and closes for long periods without warning. One positive, is that the cardio machines are newer and the most up-to-date of any location.

Joined about 6-8 months ago. Was great then, now way overpopulated. If you come after 3/4pm you will wait for equipment. Floor is totally full of people. They keeping touring new prospective members thru, so it seems membership will continue to grow. It’s a nice space, but if you can only work out during pre/post 9am-5pm, you’ll be competing with others for spots on machines/benches

Brand new, but for the high membership fee I would expect more. Main issues: - longer opening hours especially since it’s always super crowded between 6-8pm. Told manager team multiple times but profit is probably more important - amenities close 1/2 before closing hours - pretty small lifting area - fuzzy towels and shower hot/cold gamble + classes are pretty decent

The quality continues to go down. Specifically when it comes to the amenities. The women locker room has been under construction with tapes all over. They’ve changed the deodorant to an overall body spray and have limited the locations of all lotions, deodorants, and even the cotton swabs. There’s also no steamer available (unlike other locations)

  • Karen Nga

This is a gorgeous new Equinox location. The main floor is open and spacious with plenty of free weights, machines, and cardio. The stretching area is also roomy and well situated on the side so you don’t feel like you’re stretching in front of everyone. Locker rooms are also clean and big. Highly recommend.

  • Taylor Hoyt

Small space. Some staff are passive aggressive and should be better trained on how to interact with people. For a new location, most of the cable equipment is kept in surprisingly poor condition relative to other clubs in the city. If it weren’t so close to me I’d never come here.

  • Carly Pisarri

Took a yoga class w Mary here and she was very warm and welcoming. It was challenging and a great workout. This location is sprawling. The art deco furniture is super fun. Tons of equipment. Personalized pumpkins. The details in the decor makes this location great for working!

Esta bien tienes algunos instructores de clase que sin muy buenos y las instalaciones están bien, solo les hace falta dar un poco más de inversión en la parte de mantenimiento y mejorar el salario para el personal de limpieza que es la parte fundamental.

  • Katarina Makmuri

Love the amazing instructors for group fitness classes! The weight room can get full on weekday evenings but I’ve never had to wait for a shower. Wish this location stayed open later on the weekends, it’s kind of crazy they close in the afternoon.

  • Jeffrey Garelick

Great gym. Super clean. Plenty of space, weights and machines. Staff is super friendly and nice. 1st class gym all the way. Can’t go wrong if you are looking for an awesome environment to exercise …

  • Hai Li

Location is great and good instructors. however there’s only ver few benches and 3 squat racks. Working out most of the time means waiting for machines. One additional star for AC.

  • Silas Amaral

Modern installation and equipments, world class staff, and excellent location. A great place to work out or practicing yoga. Strongly recommend.

  • michael podrid

Great place to work out. Brand new facility! Highly recommended catie our membership consultant. Also Josiah gave the best massage of my life.

  • Jack Tuggle

It’s a pretty great club. But quite a few of the treadmills and it’s kinda shocking. Still I love this club. Let’s talk treadmill maintenance

  • Verne Smith

Gym is clean and well maintained. Everything is in good working order. More compact than other locations and very, very busy at peak times.

  • Darrell Taylor

Poorly run. Thing break and take forever to be repaired. Randomly closes early without notice, communication, or alternate arrangements.

  • Ling Long

Trash gym, trash hours, so expensive, so many people, I’m so sick of equinox but it’s the closest gym to where I live

  • Joshua Chaisson

This place closing at 3pm all Labor Day weekend is totally ridiculous. The more affordable gyms have better hours.

  • surya

best equinox in sf. easier to walk here as you will not find parking. steam rooms don't work early mornings.

  • Alexander Kelley

Gym is ok, a little small. The homeless and lawlessness outside is terrifying. Not safe!!

  • Alpha Zeta

Like all the other Equinox gyms, very well-maintained, clean and comically expensive.

  • Sam sam

Terrible customer service! Manager as no clue about customer service!

  • Eddie Sanchez

Beautiful. Clean. No waits for anything. Spa. All the things!

  • Glenn Fairley

Rode there, it's very expensive gym and no trial memberships

  • Paritosh

Good space after 8 pm morning and evening are crowded …

  • Eugenio Castaneda

I’m not recommending anyone onto this club anymore I’m done

  • Christian Williams

Definitely not the largest, but sold and pleasant.

  • Jeremy Williams

Super clean, well-run gym with great amenities.

  • Alamgir Mand

Weird layout but solid equinox nonetheless

  • Cody Goodman
