Let me start off by saying this stores appearance more than any other does not do it justice by any means. I found this location shopping around or new LFS's in Houston. I even have to admit that when I first pulled into the parking lot of this location I debated going inside. However, they are a Red Sea distributor and therefore I decided to make the leap. Let me tell you something it was well worth it! Let me emphasize again that this store also in the top three of my favorite Reef Aquaria stores for the west side of H town. Reef Aquaria is an advanced level aquarium Hobby and should be respected as such. That being said if you are in the hobby or interested in the hobby, this is the place to be! As mentioned previously, fjw is a Red Sea distributor, and for those who do not know, Red Sea Aquatics is one of the top five Reef Aquarium manufacturers in the country. This alone makes it worth the visit. When I visited for the first time I had children with me and did not have a lot of time to speak with the gentleman. However, I will say that what little I heard him speak about while he was receiving new stock of Frags, appeared to be what I would consider advanced level knowledge. I would easily compare my visit to a micro version of WWC only local. I could easily go on and on about the benefits and pros of visiting this store. But we won't do that today I will simply say that I highly recommend this shop for any one interested in Reef Aquaria!

I have been in this hobby since 2005. For some reason I had never heard of this place until 2 months ago. The moment I stepped in I was completely blown away by the beauty and health of the corals. From LPS to SPS and soft corals I was very amazed. I'm used to seeing such high quality corals only online. That is why I used to get my corals almost exclusively from the internet. If you go to other fish stores in Houston their corals don't even compare to this one. I asked him which ones are for sale because I thought that the ones that were absolutely beautiful were only for display. Because at other fish stores that's exactly what happens. You see these awesome corals and then you asked him how much they are and they say that they are not for sale that they're there only for display. Then they point over to the half dead brown corals in their for sale tanks. When I asked Dennis the same question he told me everything you see is for sale! I have already spent quite a bit of money with FJW. But I don't regret it one bit. I'm very happy to contribute to this business to make sure that it continues so that I can have access to awesome corals that I can actually see before I buy them. Keep it up Dennis!

I never write reviews, but Dennis and his shop warrant one. Best selection of all of Houston for corals, fish, and equipment. His shop blew my mind when I walked in, ORA and Aussie corals everywhere. Huuuuge display tanks everywhere, and everything is for sale. I make the hour drive to go to his shop even though there is another LFS 20 minutes away off of the 45S/Beltway that I can go to, Dennis's shop is well worth the drive for some amazing corals. The only problem is that Dennis is the only guy working there, so if there are more than two people, and especially if the other person is long winded, it takes a bit to get help, but you can't fault Dennis for that lol When you do get help, Dennis is on it and does what he can to help. He also is pretty damn fair if you go in for trades. Defiantly check this place out if your looking for a new LFS, I can't say enough good thing about this place lol

Went looking for BTAs. They had many in stock, but were asking 75.00 for the rose and 120.00 for nuclear green BTA. (I guess that’s why they had so many in stock!) Went elsewhere, purchased a 5” rose BTA FOR 40.00 and a 6” nuclear green off the net for 60.00. So I got two of the same anemones for 85.00 less than I would have paid at FJW. Bought a really nice brain coral for that!!!! It pays to shop around. I realize they have “price match”, but who wants to have to do all that going back and forth? Find a store that has fair prices and go there. They have really nice stuff at FJW, but you’re gonna pay through the nose for it. You could get a better deal online even after paying a 35.00 shipping charge! I would like to give FJW my business, we need nice saltwater fish stores in Houston, but I refuse to make someone’s pockets nice and fat just because they’re greedy.

I just love this place he has some great car prices and some great fish prices and places understandable the people take their time the to help you out and select stuff let you know what things get to your body for your fish tank with it fit in to ask you questions about your tank and your water quality before you buy stuff so thank you all y'all being able such a great help and I love you Coral your charges of your hammers or some of the cheapest I have found yet they below some of the prices that I have seen in a long time thank you so much y'all such a wonderful great story and keep up with the great customer service you're a wonderful God bless you and keep you all healthy and safe throughout this year God bless Ronald

DENNIS!!! I live in Pearland and for the first time I went to visit FJW last weekend on Saturday and guess what? I came back on Sunday again even though the drive is not fun. He is a fantastic guy. His store is small in space but BIG on quality and service. Even though the price seems intimidating, they do have price match and you can reason with Dennis. That's what I love about Dennis, you can talk to him and he just wants your business and satisfaction. I wanted special designer clownfishes and he gave me an awesome deal because I bought several. Nonetheless, support a lfs is important as we don't have many quality stores here in H-town. Dennis and FJW is what I highly recommend.

THE best store in Houston and surrounding areas for corals, bar none. Literally wall to wall corals for you to choose from. The tanks are always in excellent shape, super clean and the corals are vivid and healthy. Other aquarium stores have corals, but they're typically pretty dull and not well cared for. FJW also has a great selection of fish and inverts. Somehow, Dennis also found a way to house in the store a ridiculous stock of all kinds of equipment. Before I order something online, I usually check with FJW, and they have it in stock. Can't say enough good things about this place... If you like corals, fish or just aquariums in general, you need to visit FJW.

Quite small inside the store, not enough room to display all their merchandise. The tanks, fish, and corals are in perfect condition. Mainly oscellaris (clown fish) but of the higher priced variety like onyx and platinum. A few rare type oscellaris, the seahorse are pretty expensive. $100 each but they're a decent size. A huge variety of different frags, but are very pricey. I'm not paying $19 for a small micro piece of hard coral or soft coral. But the quality of the fish and corals are good. They had great information on what to use to grow coral correctly, but again, prices are incredibly high.

Every fish we have gotten from here has died. The fish (2 Mocha Clowns and a Leopard Wrasse) have stayed towards the top of the water, which indicates that they cannot 'breathe' and within a few days they are dead. I have also had a Sand-Sifter Starfish die from there. We have checked all water perimeters and everything appears to be in working order. The Hi-Fin Cardinal and Pajama Cardinal that I had before purchasing these new fish (purchased from a different seller) are thriving and appear to be healthy.

Definitely one of my favorite places to shop for saltwater supplies and coral - the displays are gorgeous and staff is always helpful. I bought a large tube anemone a couple of weeks ago that is the stunner in my tank and have gotten numerous beautiful, healthy rock nems from here. If you haven’t checked them out and you’re in the reefing hobby, be sure to stop by!

Best selection I have seen in Houston. Really nice and helpful staff/owner as well. When they did not have some acros that I was looking for they helpfully gave me directions to a competitor who might have what I was looking for. Now that's customer service you rarely find these days. If your in the reef hobby You've definitely got to check out FJW.

Great Coral selection but don't forget to bring some Vaseline, the Price Rape is Real.. With Great Coral Comes Great Prices, no discounts. Its almost like he adds a 20% finders fee premium on his Corals. Great Store for the Wealthy. Rich Mans Hobby Store, if you on a budget don't even go there, you will leave with your feelings hurt.

If you are looking for high quality softies this is the place to go in Houston. Corals and other livestock are in excellent condition here unlike most LFS in and around the area. Had a small issue but it was quickly resolved by the owner. Still one of the best LFS in a 90 mile radius so I will keep making the drive from League City.

Best local salt water fish store around! Has the best variety of zoas/corals and some pretty awesome fish. Any time we need something we go here first. He always has what we are looking for, even if its something specific. The tanks are clean and everything is always healthy. He is also friendly and great with my kids! Double win!

I have been here twice and still have yet to step foot inside. Both times were during posted hours of operation. Open sign was on both times with a note on door stating will return in 30 minutes. Waited almost an hour both times and they never opened back up. Not worth the drive again not knowing if someone will be there.

Not the best looking from the outside but the inside OMG. New to the hobby and the staff was truly amazing. You can tell they are passionate about marine life and love their job. I ordered my first tank from them and can't wait to get started. Although this place is an hour drive for me, it's definitely worth it.

My favorite salt water fish and coral store in Houston. Great selection of corals with good prices. They have tons of equipment in stock, lots of radion LED lights and Neptune Apex equipment as well as a ton of other stuff. The staff is extremely helpful and always willing to answer questions.

This place is such a unique gem. I live nearby and came in out of curiosity, and the staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I don't even have a tank yet, but I know where I will go when I take the plunge and buy one. This place seems to be THE place to go for anemone and coral.

I love this place it gives me the feeling of being a kid in a candy store. Dennis is absolutely knowledgeable and will help you with advice on how to properly grow livestock. He's obviously in the buisness of maintaining a good strong customer base. I absolutely recommend FJW!

Awesome experience, super helpful owner spent an exceptional amount of time digging a single pistol shrimp out of live rock so I could buy it. Best frag selection I have seen in the greater Houston area with reasonable pricing. I'll definitely be back to feed my addiction.

Amazing store for reefing! While they carry many high end stuff they always have smaller pieces that let you build your reef that will grow while it develops. Was there today and had to make 2 purchases because after the first my wife HAD to have one more piece.

The shop was very clean nice ppl working in there and quality was the best we've seen . We drove 4 hrs to check it out and was definitely impressed will be back . You heard the ole saying you get what you pay for we got good stuff at very reasonable prices .

We went in looking for coral frags. This location does have a wide variety of coral, but boy were they proud of them. Everything we looked at we felt confident we could find elsewhere cheaper, and we did. The staff were not overly helpful

This place is simply amAzing. The WOW factor is definitely worth the visit regardless if you are a coral enthusiast, or just a spectator and passing through. Staff is very knowledgeable and gives advice and shares his knowledge freely.

Honest shop owner, won't upsale you to make a buck. His corals are colorful like what you find online, not just green and red. Immaculate tanks, fair prices, great source of knowledge. Absolutely worth the drive from The Woodlands.

Don't let the location fool you. I was blown away by the huge selection of corals that are kept in really great conditions and look like they are kept well. Really healthy looking selection here. Would definitely recommend!

Although FJW does not stock fish for an aggressive tank they have a great supply of equipment and are both knowledgable and reasonable as far as pricing goes.
