We stopped in not far from our hotel. It is nice that it is more 'local'. We sat down and felt comfortable enough to stay. We ordered a couple of drinks without a problem, but the bartender probably did not peg us as quite fitting in. Then right away this super scetchy 'local' starts talking to us at the bar. She was hard to talk to and came across as just trying to find issue with what you are saying; it was impossible to find any substance in anything she said. Then suddenly she orders a shot for the 3 of us to share, it was made from kahula and vodka in a 12 oz plastic cup with 3 straws. Now that is a big shot even for 3 people. So I look at the drink and decided I would not like it because I don't like Kahlua nor vodka. But, my wife did try one sip before anyone else had touched it. But the the sketchy local says 'No, we all drink it together.' At that point it got scary. So we just sat there and stared her down until she left. So the game was we think she was going to spit a spike into that awful drink and then rob us later with friends. But it gets worse. She never paid for that drink. We did not pay for it, and it sat on the bar until we left. The bartender and this woman were full on board with this scheme. To make it even better, we got photographs of these two and actually got the full on attention of the police, filled a report, and criminal charges are being filed this week. Even if there is no conviction, we have plenty of probable cause to pursue the easier civil action. Now I'm not saying to avoid this place, but be aware in NO that these workers and street people can and do work together. So have fun, but be careful.

Incredibly confused about all the good reviews. (Probably regulars with house tabs) The bartender on the night we dropped in was the rudest I've ever encountered. He was responding to all of my fiancė's questions with an attitude which I could not understand cause you will not meet a kinder more well mannered Irish Alabama boy than my guy. It's like the bartender didn't want us there. When we tried ordering drinks he acted as if we were being bothersome. My fiancè was so annoyed he couldn't even bring himself to take the beer he ordered off the counter, I had to get it and we left. Upon taking a sip outside I noticed the beer tasted like stomach acid and it left a horrible taste on my tongue and throat. I spat it out and drank soda hoping to get the taste out. It was literally the foulest beer I've ever had in my entire life. This pub leaves a lot to be desired, it's old, run down, dirty and the staff is extremely rude and unfriendly. Only good thing I can say is I'm lucky I didn't get a chance to eat there. I will not return.

I stopped in for a beer after a long hot walk. Fahy’s Irish Pub was a very welcoming sight. The decor is very old-school, in the best possible way. Very friendly folks and a wide selection of cold beer. Their prices are also very reasonable. I did not see any food but if they do serve it I would bet it’s first rate also. I will be back.

Bartender yelled at us because we opened the door that we thought was the bathroom. Another customer got yelled at by another customer at the bar because he tried to shake the pool table to get his ball out the bartender gave us attitude the whole night after we opened that door inadvertently looking for the bathroom school this for not asking him first literally the worst bar that we've been to down in Bourbon Street are in that area how are you at pass it up and try another establishment. Got a Long Island iced tea and it's the worst mixed one I've had in my life and that's usually what I drink all the time extremely too much alcohol in it not mixed well had the proportions all off it was hard just to finish drinking it which I didn't.

I had a fantastic time at this bar and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ambiance was lively and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy quality drinks. The bartenders are incredibly skilled and passionate about their craft, and their attention to detail is reflected in every cocktail they create. The drink menu is diverse and well-curated, ensuring there's something for every palate. The staff's hospitality and the overall atmosphere made my time at this bar truly memorable. I'm excited to return and explore more of the exceptional drink offerings.

Nice place to unwind after work but they don't have any food besides nuts and chips so if you are hungry it's not the place to go. The staff is great and they are one of the lower priced bars in the quarter for drinks

Nice little bar that we stopped in before heading home. What a treat. I say treat because it made me think of 'Cheers'; not many places like that still exist. The lady at the door cards everyone, old, young, tall, short, red, blue, pink and the like. I ordered an IRISH CAR BOMB, but was told this wasn't available. I questioned why & the bartender said it was offensive; he made a correlation to ordering a TWIN TOWERS in New York sooooo I apologized then asked him to make me something good. Two pool tables in place allowing for two times the fun.

  • Ed Goldner

The upside is they have two steel tipped dart targets. The downside is that they are both worn out. Ever hit a red bulls eye or triple 20, only to watch your dart fall out on the floor? I did, a number of times, a couple of weeks ago. The place has locals who can get loud sometimes, but that is part of the charm of the place. Standard fare drinks for the area and a better pool table than dart board.

Really enjoyed my time here. Bartender (chad?) Was super nice. He was happy to tell us a bit of the history of the building and gave us some feedback on out food tourism ideas. Felt very local. Far enough from the where all the action is so its likely a quieter place (was when we were there). Also $4.75 beers are hard to beat! Cheap beers, great atmosphere and excellent service

If I lived or worked in the French Quarter - this would be my Cheers and/or watering hole. The owners might be the nicest people that I met on my latest trip to New Orleans. Prices are right, conversation is plentiful, and their 'Tropical Depression' drink is delicious. It's catty-corner from Maison Dupuy, which is perfect for anyone that wants a quick drink while staying at the Dupuy. I enjoyed my time there so much, that I bought a t-shirt!

  • Matthew G

We didn't eat here(nor did we look for a food menu). This bar was quite close. to our hotel, so we enjoyed stopping in for a couple of drinks in the evening. Both times that we stopped, we had a lot of fun. It's an Irish pub, with pool tables and a bar. Don't expect much more than that when you walk in.

Went here for Essence festival. We went at night (11:46) and it wasn’t that crowded but the bartender skipped us 4 times (yes I counted) to take care of people that came after us. When I waved him down, he gave the excuse that “he’s working as fast as he can” I still tipped him but he clearly seen us trying to buy drinks…

  • Kris Nelson

This is definitely one of my favorite local bars in New Orleans. Nothing super special, just some pool tables, dart boards, and video poker machines but it’s great. It’s usually full of locals but very chill during the day. We come here every time we’re in town.

Terrible! Was looking for a place to play pool and drink! My boyfriend and I went here and no later than 5 seconds I was told that I needed to get up out of my seat because the bar owner "Katie" was coming, needed to sit down and that she could sit wherever she pleased. Absolutely not. Very rude.

Love it. Don't go as often as I should. Only real issue is that the locals tend to defend the bar from tourists, even though there have been very few threats. Some tourists / friends I've taken in have been made to feel unwelcome by regulars and certain bartenders. Can't we all just have fun?

After wandering around the French Quarter for 2 days, and experiencing the multiple touristy spots. I was delighted to stumble upon Fahy’s Irish Pub. From Robert the engaging Bartender to the overall atmosphere I finally felt at home. Guinness in an actual Glass!!!

  • Shauntaye Merritt-Williams

This spot isn't for everybody, but it's certainly for me. Wonderful dive in the Quarter, stiff drinks at the right price, pool tables, awesome bartenders...I don't need much else after work. Ask for a mind eraser if you're with a friend and feeling adventurous lol

  • Christina Tarvin

This pub was near our hotel. Stopped in for a drink. The Bloody Mary was outstanding; the right mix of heat and flavor. They don’t serve food but recommended a few local restaurants. Definitely a place to visit to enjoy some drinks and atmosphere.

  • Nailaja Mingo

It's definitely a dive bar. The drinks are reasonably priced compared to bars on Bourbon St, 2 blocks over. The size of the cocktails are also larger than those on Bourbon St.

I don't find anything special about this place. Just a bar with a pool table. I really don't get why people go here. Perhaps because it's close to the page. But to each it's own. I do know the drinks are cheaper here than some other places.

  • Ron Anthony (Ron Orleans)

A really great place with lots of friendly people, you will need proof of vaccination in order to drink in the bar, but that's much like every place else, that aside it's a really great place to spend time with friends and downtown

  • Delana Harris

Great local find in the FQ. Nice owners, friendly bartenders and patrons hanging around the bar. Pool tables too! We have only been during the daytime though. Not sure how the scene is at night. Will be back for sure!

  • Yusaf Miller

The people are hostile and given that’s not fair to blame the bar but the bartenders instigate fights and are very unprofessional and rude when it comes to customers. Will not return to a disrespectful and violent bar

  • Jay Walker

The bartender ignored us for a while and proceeded to shoot the breeze with other customers instead of getting them their drinks and moving to the next. Was very rude once we were served. I will never come here again

  • Kim Welan

Great spot for locals and locals just passing through - at locals prices. Update: Funny, the machine asked me "Has Fahy's changed since your last review?" And thankfully - no.

Best spot in the Quarter, hands down. Unbeatable Guiness on tap in flavor and price. First bar I hit when I was of age, I actually bought the bartender's shirt off of his back for $75. Spend your money here.

  • Jamie Wang

Friendly bar with a neighbourhood feel, possibly one of the few authentic Irish bars in Nola. Drinks are affordable and bartenders are really cool to talk to. Went there repeatedly on my short trip to Nola.

  • Belinda (Queen B)

Great atmosphere and attentive bar tenders! This is our favorite place to get a drink while walking our dog! Very dog friendly too! They provided a water dish and a couple treats too! Love this place!

Two pool tables (where locals and pool-starved travelers can strut their stuff) in a relaxing corner bar atmosphere, with my favorite Pilsner beer on tap. What more could you want, hot sandwiches?

  • John Dubberley

This was my first visit because of a coupon. The bartenders were friendly and it had a welcoming environment. The beers were ok. If I did not have a coupon I would have rated this 2.5 starts.

One of my favorite spots in the FQ. Laid back...and owners Jack and his wife are top notch. Go visit and hope the dogs are there. Walk down the street and visit Iko the cockatoo. Enough said.
