I am going to write this review and try not to get to deep into the weeds. I had been going to this medical practice for a number of years. The staff was great and all the medical staff was nothing but helpful and responsive to me as a patient. I just recently had the need to see someone about an issue with my leg and foot. I found that the practice had been sold, Dr. Henderson had retired and everyone else had left. I needed to see someone and I no longer had a primary care doctor so I made an appointment. I was scheduled to be seen by Nurse Practitioner Kathleen Kraft. This brings me to why I am writing this review, seeing her was a huge mistake. When I was asked to describe what was happening and the reason for my visit by the Medical Assistant, I started to explain what was happening. She had a two way radio with her and she kept getting interrupted by radio traffic asking her questions and telling her that other patients were being placed into exam rooms. All this while I was trying to tell her was happening with my health. She was typing away on her laptop and then she left. FNP Kraft came into the exam room and said she had a treatment plan for me. I asked her how that was possible she hadn’t even examined me and she said she had read what the MA had written into the chart. I asked her what exactly that was and she started reading it to me. I told her that while some of it was correct the main part of my issues were incorrectly stated in the chart. FNP Kraft started getting angry and was very rude to me asking me to tell her exactly why I was there. I started to try to explain the issues I thought were relevant and she stopped me in the middle of what I was trying to explain to her and said, are we here because of issue A, B or because of something else. This went downhill from there. She finally gave me an order to get some x-rays done which I did the next day. I also had the results in my hand within hours of getting the x-rays and I forwarded them to her using the Patient Porthole for Family Medicine that apparently goes into a black hole somewhere. A little more than a week later I was contacted and told the results of the x-rays had been received and I needed to make an appointment to come in and discuss the results. I did make this appointment and it seems to me that the only reason to make this an office visit was to have the excuse to bill an office visit to my insurance company and collect a co-pay from me. This visit was a complete waste of time and it could have been completed over the phone or with a short email; but, it did give FNP Kraft another opportunity to show just how rude and condescending someone can be. This medical practice really needs to have some real supervision from an actual medial professional and FNP Kraft needs to find another line of work or maybe start working at the Medical Examiner’s Office where the patients don’t care anymore.

When I went to urgent care, the NP stated that the olive oil is a preventative care. She said she was surprised I could even hear. They put the wax remover gel in both my ears and let sit for 10 minutes and did the lavage. The only reason, this was not done at Family Medicine is because you are in a hurry to move onto the next patient. Also, my friend has been going there for years and you could not get her in before she was out of her anti depressant and did not offer to give her a 3 to 4 day supply or supply until her next appointment. There is no excuse for your lack of caring for patients that are at the mercy of your care. People take a look at the other negative reviews and see this is not the place of you if you are needing good medical attention and compassion. Nothing in the below response about your rude receptionist. There is just not anything good I can say about this place. I have been going here for many years and it has changed into a factory. Get as many patients in and out as quickly as possible. The receptionists are rude. I went to Genny Cardona on November 14th for vertigo symptoms, and she told me my right ear was 90% full of wax and the left ear was 50% full of wax. She told me to put olive oil in my ears and did not clean them out there. I had to go to urgent care on Friday as my vertigo was not getting better. You know what they did, they cleaned out my ears and the Nurse Practitioner said that could be a cause of the vertigo. Sure enough today, the vertigo has subsided and I feel much better. I strongly suggest going to a different provider as they do not spend time with you as a patient. They make you wait so long in the room only to exam and talk to you as fast as possible. The website also shows that William G. Henderson is the primary doctor. He retired years ago and there is no doctor in that office whatsoever. Thankfully, my husband's DOCTOR is accepting me as a new patient who he speaks highly about, and he is a doctor not just a nurse practitioner that must get commission for seeing so many patients a day. I have a friend that recently got a new provider as they wouldn't refill her antidepressant until they saw her in the office and she went days without her medicine, and they did not care at all that. I think they need to research that you just can't have a patient stop antidepressants cold turkey. But again, they do not care and it's about the numbers.

*Long review, but important* Family Medicine has been our family provider for years and they have taken great care of us. Recently, however, it has gone severely downhill. I can only attribute the decline being due to medical professional turnover and shortages during the pandemic - which is not their fault. However, they should still do research into who they're bringing into their practice. I had the displeasure of having an appointment with Kathleen Kraft. This appointment was a simple routine check up to be prescribed a control substance. I have been on this med responsibly for over a decade for my anxiety AS NEEDED, and have preformed these checks without any issues at Family Medicine. This was until I had my appointment with Kathleen. Never in my life have I met a healthcare "professional" with such bad bedside manner. She was condescending, dismissive, and invaliding of my issues to the point I embarrassingly had a panic attack in the room. To which she responded, "you're not having a panic attack, you're just upset." I will spare all the small details of the appointment, but needless to say, she was horrible. I understand being cautious to prescribe a control substance, but look into the context of the situation. I expressed my knowledge of the dangers of Benzodiazepines and even challenged her on the drug's compounds and half-life - to which she had no correct answers to. She finished the appointment by opening the door and removing her mask to tell me she's new to the practice and that she's liable for these prescriptions (presumably for the whole office to hear). After that humiliating and infuriating experience, I Googled her name and found that she has nothing but 1-star reviews at her previous practices. Why on earth would Family Medicine not look into this background before hiring her? I then tried to call and leave a calm compliant with the Office Manager. However, my calls were not answered and my voicemail was never acknowledge with a callback. I hate to be that person who leaves a public negative review, but I could not reach anyone to speak about this matter privately. Furthermore, I firmly believe Kathleen Kraft should be name shamed publicly. Avoid her and push to see a different practitioner.

For a long time Family Medicine PC was the best primary care clinic in the city BUT things have changed quite a bit. Used to be able to be seen in a timely manner if necessary but not now. Leave messages for a medical assistant and NEVER get a return call. Quality of care is nothing like when Dr. Henderson was seeing patients. Wondering how the clinic operates with Nurse Practitioners who are not directly supervised on site by Dr. Henderson. I haven't seen him in the clinic in years. The decline in patient care seems the result of the lack of that supervision by Dr. Henderson. The inmates are now running the asylum. The management spends more money on TV commercials trying to get new patients than they spend on providing timely and quality care for the patients they do have and that is a real shame. Family Medicine PC is failing in both patient care and basic business practices. If they can't manage prescriptions or return phone calls in a TIMELY MANNER they should take a long hard look at what they are doing and NOT doing and then decide if they want to continue to be part of the health care problem or return to being the asset to this community they were when Dr. Henderson was there. Family Medicine PC is now no better than most primary care clinics around and if they don't return to being more patient oriented they'll be as bad as most revenue generating clinics that give healthcare a deservedly bad rap. RESPONSE TO THE OWNER... There is no excuse for medical assistants acting like they are the provider. There is no excuse for not returning phone calls in a timely manner OR at all. There is no excuse for it taking a week or more or NEVER to refill prescriptions. There is no excuse for providers being rude, indifferent, or condescending to patients. Patients are making the SAME negative comments repeatedly and nothing seems to improve. If you spent more time reminding your staff that the patients don't exist for the convenience of the practice instead of making the same excuses over and over to every negative review then both the practice and the patients you have would benefit and you would be the asset to the community Family Medicine once was.

I’ve had a horrible experience here overall! I’ll start off by saying that the Nurse Practitioner I saw was good at my visit and ordered additional bloodwork to get more details about my thyroid levels being too high and white blood cell count being too low. As a previous cancer survivor, I pay close attention if my body is indicating something is wrong! I was assured that my bloodwork results would be posted to my chart on the portal and I would get a call from her or her medical assistant if there were any abnormal results. This was on a Tuesday and the lab (Quest Diagnostics) had my results ready on Thursday. My results showed that I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and despite these abnormal results, my repeated attempts to get answers via a call back, I never heard back and my results were never posted to my chart. I waited all day Monday thinking that she would definitely call to go over these abnormal results. Nope! Not Tuesday either. On Wednesday I was told again that the doctor hadn’t even reviewed my lab results yet. WAIT WHAT??? I had to go to another practitioner at another practice who reviewed my results and set an appointment to go over them with me the following day. That doctor confirmed my Hashimotos diagnosis and immediately put in for a referral to an endocrinologist. Fast forward until that Thursday (over a week later), the scheduler at Family Medicine finally called me to schedule an appointment 2 weeks out to go over my abnormal lab work. The scheduler had NO information about my results and told me I’d have to wait till my appointment for anyone to discuss the results with me. Totally unacceptable!!!! Don’t waste your time and money here. Do yourself a favor and go to a clinic that actually pays attention to urgent medical lab work so you can get help right away.

I am literally looking for a new PCP at the moment. I have been going to this practice for routine physicals and paps since about 2017 ish. Everything was fine with the care but I thought the constant email notifications of PA turnover were strange. I didn’t keep track of who I was seeing because I knew it would change in a short time. As a generally healthy person, I had that luxury. Then, in February of 2022 I needed more serious care when I wanted to explore a bump on the left side of my head that was about 1/3 of the size of a golf ball, under my skull. I was referred for an MRI to a location that did not accept my insurance so after waiting 6 weeks, I had to do my own leg work with my insurance company to find a location that did accept my insurance and narrow down that my insurance company wanted me to get an Xray or Soft Tissue Ultrasound of the bump that is under my skull. I finally get the soft tissue ultrasound and cannot seem to get the results from the practice after several follow up calls. If were not in the middle of trying to get an MRI to see if the bump under my skull is something to worry about or something I need immediate medical care for, I would simply ask for my medical records and part ways. I am now 11 weeks into trying to find out if the bump on my head is going to be a major problem for me and I cannot get a call back about my test results. Unfortunately, I am stuck in this and I am working with the office management at the moment. There are some major problems with the practice if this is the experience that is being echoed on the internet. I have worked for a doctor’s office in the past, and it should not run this way. I’m at a loss. I’m looking to get my testing done and move on from this practice.

If I could give zero stars I would. I've not been happy with the care I've received there for 5 or so years. I'll only share my most recent experience though. I hadn't gone in a year and a half or so but needed to be seen today and they were able to fit me in. Dealing with some mental health issues and needed to start somewhere. In the 20 or so years I've been going, they've always accepted medicaid and always accepted presbyterian. I have Presbyterian Medicaid right now. The lady on the phone who set my appointment didn't bother asking me if my insurance had changed so I assume everything is good. I get to my appointment and they've got everything torn up.. I guess they're moving. Cool whatever. I get to the new suite and they are BLARING god music and have bibles on the tables. I'm sorry but DO NOT FORCE YOUR RELIGION INTO MY FACE and ESPECIALLY don't incorporate it into MY HEALTHCARE. I go to get checked in, and it seems they have an entirely new staff which isn't a good sign seeing as how I've known the front desk people that were there before and they stayed for YEARS.. The woman at the desk promptly says they don't accept the insurance I've used there for years and when I said that someone should've told me this when I made the appointment she says YOU'RE WELCOME. No alternative options like paying out of pocket, or let me talk to some of the providers here and see if they can refer you at least... Nothing. Just cold and abrasive. Who does that? I'm there dealing with a mental health issue and she's rude as hell! I could rant all day about this but I won't. I will NEVER go there again. How dare a doctors office, where you go to get CARED FOR, be so awful to their patients.

I always call in my refills on the 10th of the month. I have a reminder set to let me know I’m due. This month it went off and I called in as per the norm. Left a message for my practitioner’s assistant as per the norm. Didn’t hear back or get a refill. A few days go by. Nothing. I call back about a week later to leave another message. I’m now out of my medicine. I say so on this message. A few days go by, still nothing. Today 2 weeks after I normally call in my refill I call the pharmacy to see if maybe they got the refill and I am just not getting the notification. They said they have not received anything from my provider. And I am due for this months refill. I left another message last night for the front desk this time stating I haven’t heard from anyone, and I’m still in need of my prescription. I call agin at 10:30 this morning. Talk to the front desk. I won’t name any names. But the person who I talked too was super rude. I was trying to explain my situation. And they cut me off! “What do you need?” Wow well jerk. After I’ve left 3 message and 2 weeks later I’d really like my refill of my medication. And you not to have an attitude towards me about it. You are the ones who dropped the ball on this not me. But please by all means, cut me off mid sentence. I’ve been with this practice at the same office for over 10 years. Way before this person got hired. Back when Dr Henderson ran the practice. This is the first time I’ve felt the need to come on this platform to express my unhappiness. Do better.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I had an Tele Visit appointment with Dr. Amy at 12:15pm. I logged in at 12:10 to be sure I was on time. At 12:40, I had still not been seen. I started calling the office, where the receptionist would consistently pick up and put me on hold without speaking to me. One time she even hung up. Finally at 1:05 the receptionist spoke to me and said that the Dr. was still with another patient, even though MY appointment was scheduled for FIFTY minutes earlier. She promised the Dr. would be on within 5 minutes. By 1:25 I called again. NO ANSWER. I finally decided to talk to the billing department where I was put on hold for another 10 minutes. In the end I was told that THE DOCTOR WOULD NOT SEE ME TODAY BECAUSE SHE HAD TO MOVE ONTO OTHER PATIENTS. I am completely in awe. I canceled two meetings to be on the Tele Visit and in the end I was told that the doctor was just canceling my appointment and moving on with her day even though I had now been waiting for the doctor for AN HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE minutes. AWFUL OFFICE. Will absolutely do everything I can to be sure no one else visits this place where sick patients are not cared about. Not only was my day wasted, meetings canceled, but IM STILL SICK with no prescription because I was never seen. DO NOT GO HERE.

I’ve been going to family medicine for about a year and have had a pretty good experience with them. We used to see Shalee and she was always great. I went in for help with an ankle injury and when scheduling the appointment I wasn’t told that shalee was no longer there. When I got there they told me my appointment was with Kathleen Kraft. I should have just walked out. She was so nasty and rude, she was not short of snide comments and crass remarks. She begrudgingly helped me fill out my LOA Paperwork for my work and made it so apparently known that she wasn’t happy to be helping me. She would scoff and questions and laugh and roll her eyes at me when I was talking about my medical history. She, at one point got so frustrated because I didn’t understand the medical wording on the paperwork she slammed the door open and just walked out. She came with changes made and told me we were Done she didn’t even walk me out of the office, when turning the corner walking away from me I saw her throw up her hands in disgust and walk away. Everything about her was offensive and rude. I will not be returning. I wouldn’t waste your time here i we’re you. I’d recommend finding someone who cares about you and your job. My family and I are not interested in Family Medicine anymore

Edit: Had a voicemail from Jennifer asking me to call back and ask for her directly. Called back yesterday, 7/10, was told she was with a patient and would call me back in 30 minutes to an hour. Never received a call. Didn’t receive one today either. Called to ask for her again today and she wasn’t in the office. My prescription still hasn’t been sent in since I first called on 7/6/23. Will be back in abq late tomorrow afternoon and hope this will get resolved before I go back out of town again Thursday morning. Asked the front desk if I could be moved to another provider in the office and was told I’d have to schedule a visit to see them first before I can get a refill. Original post- It is always like pulling teeth trying to get my prescription refilled. Jennifer isn’t there or she doesn’t respond. The last few times the office manager had to get involved. Back in December another person in the office helped and she was so helpful but when I called back later I found out she isn’t there anymore. I was only back in town for 1 day because of work and called at 2:45pm, 3 hours and 15 minutes before they close and was told they would send a message to Jennifer. Called back at 5:10 and now apparently Jennifer isn’t there and my prescription won’t be getting filled.

I’m sad to have to change my 5 star review to a one star. I have been a patient since 2017. The person I would normally see wasn’t available when I called about an ingrown toenail. The nurse practitioner Kathleen Kraft was utterly rude and unhelpful. Without even touching or examining my foot she exasperatedly said all she could do was give me antibiotics and a referral to podiatrist. She had barely glanced at it from the door. When I explained that I had hoped to have it removed in house, since all swelling had gone down, and I experienced an ingrown toenail 20 years ago as a teen she became irritated and said I was being difficult. I have heard this expression used before toward people of color but hadn’t experienced it myself. Seems that either the appointment line or Kathleen would’ve made a better effort to not waste my time. It also seems like a very unnecessary use of antibiotics especially in this day and age. I wish I had been able to see a more professional nurse practitioner and been treated with respect as I treated the staff and Kathleen. Oh, Family Medicine is accepting new patients just be careful who you schedule with.

I'd leave zero stars if I could. I have been here twice since the beginning of the year. My old provider left the practice. She was really nice... however I had to switch to a new provider since she left. For two days I have been calling asking for a letter stating i have no restrictions to work. When I did hear back from someone today , I was told I needed an appointment, even though I had my physical 5 months ago...The receptionist stated I hadn't had one. What ?! To add to that , I had already seen the new provider about 4 weeks ago. I do not have the money to spend going in and on out of the doctors office for a simple letter. I have had to correct the girls at the front desk every time I go in, because I am somehow charged a large amount of money WITH insurance for simple in person visits , only to find out upon correction that they just weren't paying attention. That's comforting. Oh ! And the provider decided it'd be better for me to get lab results in person and pay a 60 dollar copay instead of telling me on the phone . It's sad , because I really did like my old provider , but this office clearly only wants my money.

I had a great 2 years with Family Medicine, PC until the last 2 months. I have tried calling their office multiple times and get sent to a voicemail due to high call volume, sometimes I can leave a message but usually the box is too full. When I do leave a voice message, I NEVER get a call back within 48 hours. Most recently, I had an appointment rescheduled due my provider having an emergency. I am more than okay with that, stuff happens. My issue is when my rescheduled appointment came up, I got a call that morning asking to reschedule it another 2 weeks out. No apologies. When I said that I have been waiting for a week already, there was no effort to try work me in. Then I was told the the person on the phone would have a supervisor contact me, she never did. It has been 48 hours since that phone call and I never got a call back. I even left a message asking for a call back separately. Because of this I am changing offices. This is too many infractions to ignore. I am taking my family with me. I hope Family Medicine, PC learns from this. This is no way to treat your patients!

I first went to this clinic back in 2013, I loved their service and care, I was sad to see that my provider left the practice and scheduled a check-up with someone new, I was able to schedule an appointment within two weeks. First red flag was this provider not finishing ny chart at the end of the day, when I went to get my blood work done the next day my orders weren't there. I called the office and asked to get them sent in, they finally did the next day, long story short labs were done Friday morning, I called the office on Wednesday asking about my results and was told they received them a couple days ago, and I would get a call sometime! The ladies working the desk are so nice and they have to deal with providers not following up with their patients, I was told to keep calling so I did, Wednesday evening, Thursday morning and still nothing, they have a portal where you are supposed to see your information and results and nothing there either... Now I will request my records to transfer to a different place and I hope to get them before next year.

I actually loved this clinic because I found an excellent provider here but this week I found out that my provider left the practice. How did I find out you ask? Did I receive a letter or a phone call or an email detailing that my provider left? No. I found out simply by happenstance because I called to be seen by her. I am a type 1 diabetic and in my 3rd trimester of my second pregnancy and I needed to be seen as soon as possible because I’ve been sick for over 2 weeks. The first time I called I was told I could be seen by another provider same day but I said I needed to think about it (because I was disappointed my provider left). I called again after thinking it over to schedule and I was told I could possibly be squeezed in same day and they would call me back, but yet the day went by with no call back. I still haven’t received a call to schedule. Needless to say, I’m extremely disappointed with how patient care is handled and the lack of customer service exhibited by the staff. I would not recommend being seen by this practice.

I came here about a year ago for a basic physical and concerns of a UTI. My very first visit I was taken care of by students, I expressed my concerns of the UTI and wanting to get back on depression medications (I was about 10 months post partum). The students did my evaluation and left to speak with the NP, they came back and told me I’d have to make another appointment for a UTI and as for the depression concerns I’d have to find a counselor. I made another appointment for my UTI, came back to the same student. At this appointment I asked if they could run a pregnancy test as well. I was then told I’d need to make ANOTHER appointment. I had never been more disgusted and disappointed with a healthcare provider. They had my urine sample right there, how hard would it be to run a pregnancy test. I went home and took a test myself and sure enough was positive. It was no wonder I was feeling hormonal and had the UTI. I never went back, this place was a total scam.

The doctors will all treat you like your crazy and faking everything you feel In your own body. I’d rather die than ever be made to feel the way they make you feel. They will not listen or care. Not worth your time or money to come here I went in and was out with in 10 minutes the doctor just looked at me like I’m wasting her time by being there. I had zero exam from family medicine, the doctor walked out of the room left the door open and didn’t say a word to me. A few minutes later the tech came in to tell me the doctor was done and I could leave. ** UPDATE the front desk confirmed my pharmacy as correct when I checked in but the doctor was in such a hurry to get away that she didn’t check with me and sent to the wrong pharmacy and I was told to wait till the end of the day for her to fix her mistake. So now I get to do her job and fix it so I can start my medication. Horrible office horrible providers

I visited Family Medicine in early May and had an awful experience with Kathleen Kraft. After much anxiety, I finally decided to write the review. I scheduled an appointment because of something that genuinely scared me in a “sensitive” part of my body as a man. I am new to the area and this was the only place I could get an appointment to quickly to have a professional opinion on such a sensitive issue. Kathleen Kraft and her assistant were obviously uncomfortable with the situation and made me feel invalidated, creepy, and like I was in the wrong. She had an aggressive and dismissive attitude with me and I left the office feeling incredibly uncomfortable. She was nothing but unhelpful, and only contributed to my anxiety about the issue. It was already a hard enough subject for me to ask for help on. I think this is a an unacceptable way for a medical *professional to act.

  • JP Sandoval

I end it up changing providers, my body produces extra red blood cells and I have to constantly know my levels, if not, I could get a heart attack. Everything went good for a few months but then they started ordering the wrong kind of blood test I had to call them and ask them for results and begged them to email me a copy usually took more than 2 days and a few calls for me to get them. Although they have a portal (app)where you supposed to be able to check for your test results and make appointments, except it doesn’t work.in my last visit I asked for a referral to a ENT due to my nose bone been hurting for a few months, the guy just wanted to give me antihistamine without even looking in my nose. In other words this place became very disorganized, maybe they’re overloaded with patients? I don’t know, but for my own health I went and found a new provider.

  • Shelby Carrera

The reviews of Kathleen Kraft are true. When I was brought back after the nurse did vitals, I waited fifteen minutes for Dr. Kraft to come. Upon her arrival she immediately started telling me about another patience’s visit reasons and after I stopped her she listened to me and then left the room for another 20 minutes. I should mention she never fully closed the door so I didn’t feel like I had privacy. I could constantly hear the staff talking about how they just couldn’t wait to leave. Nobody came to check to see how I was doing or give me any updates. Kraft finally comes back and just said she ordered blood work after never examining me, quickly listened to my heart as I was literally walking out the door so she could and I quote “say she did something”. I’ll be looking for a new provider immediately.

My children and I have been patients for over 20 years. I am so thankful for this office. I saw Dr Henderson only once. I had a form that had to be filled out immediately and he got me in that same day, no charge. I have seen all the NPs, but Mindy O'Neill most often. She's fabulous! She stays up to date on all the latest treatments. As for "bedside manner", she is very kind. She has gone out of her way to help me, save me money, make referrals, and make my prescriptions easy to refill. Brenda is awesome. I can relax because I know I'm in good hands. No mistakes ever. I can always get an appointment right away, even on Saturdays. I have recommended this office to friends for many years and everyone has thanked me for doing so.

  • Catelin Lindsay

I used to really like my provider here. But unfortunately I'm just going to have to start looking for a new provider. I had a lab test done over a week ago. I have called three times asking to know why I don't have any results. I have left three very polite messages. Nobody bothers to call me back. These lab tests are very important and the results of them could really impact my health. So the lack of communication leaves me angry.I would understand if I was the type of patient who needed help all the time. But I rarely need assistance I literally go to see this doctor twice a year. I feel like when I need help they could at least call me back. But instead I feel completely blown off. My suggestion would be go somewhere else.

  • Joni Dotzauer

Called this office in search of a primary care physician and gave the scheduling employee my insurance info and was told they accepted my insurance. Went for my first visit yesterday and was extremely pleased with Dawn and her assistant and thought I had found a good medical care. Today I got a call from Kathy in their billing office telling me they DO NOT take my insurance, that the gal who told me they did didn't understand they didn't accept my particular plan Obviously upset I asked how they could make such an error and Kathy tried to blame ME asking didn't I.get a handbook from my insurance and I should have known!! Does no one take responsibility for THEIR actions anymore?? Sad they have such front desk incompetence.

This review is for the office in general. My practitioner, Shavonne Truong, is great to work with. I have been a patient at this office for over 20 years and have never had the issues that I recently had. I applied for and was accepted by a program to have medication (very expensive) to be delivered to the doctor's office ( that is the way to company sends it) and it was signed for 12 days ago and no one knows where it is. I have called multiple times and no one knows anything. This time they transferred me to the manager and she is not in and they knew that when they transferred me. ( I called back to ask) I understand everyone is busy these days, but if an employee(s) can not do their job , they should not be there.

Wish I could give ZERO stars. When I first found this practice they were awesome, but the PA or NP not sure left shortly after. Once she left this place went down hill fast. They can get you in for an appointment quick, but other than that they have zero follow through. They were suppose to call in an increase in medication and never did. When contacted they said they would talk to Amy CNP and get back with me. They never called me back. When I contacted them 2 weeks later to see what was going on the notes in my file said “appointment canceled”. What a shame they don’t care enough about you to follow up after leaving messages and speaking to them in person. I wouldn’t go back to them if my nose was running!!!!!!

I had been going to family medicine since Dr. Henderson was there. It was a great place. I saw Kathleen Kraft after seeing different NPs. I ran out of meds, called them and never received a call back for a week. I only was allowed to get 3 days from the pharmacy. It’s not medicine I can stop without repercussions. I’d been calling a week before someone finally called back to let me know I needed to make an appt to get more meds. They gave me an appt for a month out and I kept calling to speak with Kathleen Kraft and never once received a call back. I got in to another Dr. right away and got my medicine. When I called and let them know I’d no longer be a patient and cancelled my appt all I got was an “Ok”.

I have been going here for years. I saw Mindy and I greatly miss her! I am very disappointed with how much the practice has declined. Trying to get an appointment now is just out of control. I tried calling the other day and was put on hold for 15 minutes and never was answered! I finally hung up and never received a call back. The office use to be a friendly place to go in but with all of the staff changes I feel that it is turning into just another clinic. I am very disappointed and after 10+ years I am going to look for another facility that actually cares about their patients. I wish that Dr. Henderson would step back in and turn this practice back to the way that it always has been in the past!

** I would like to add an edit** I had several issues the past month between my insurance, my pharmacy and Family medicine. I don't know where the confusion lied but I was really getting frustrated. I contacted Janet the office manager and she stepped up and within 24 hours, I had my medicine. Thank you Janet!! Between Janet and Janice and Naomi, you have a great team!! I am very happy with this office. They are always willing to help me and work with me. I have never had a rude experience in my almost 5 years here. I use Jeanice Rancher and she is amazing!! They do expect you to do your part with being on time, cancel in advance. The front office staff is also amazing! Thank you staff!!

I prefer when my nurse is wearing a lab coat and not flaunting her skinny clothes and fancy boots , flipping her 200 hair cut in my face. I prefer when I don’t have to tell them what to do. I prefer when I don’t have to listen to someone else’s zoom call and find out their name and birthdate and rather unfortunate struggles and hear them s’y «  no that’s inappropriate » «  I’m at work « « Don’t ask me that »! I prefer when my health care professionals actually follow through and do what they say They ´re going to do . I prefer when I wait weeks for them to get it right and i actually start to get better and not worse . That didn’t happen. That’s why I left this clinic

I have been seeing Genevieve Cardona for several years. She is thorough, clear, and makes me feel comfortable sharing any/all concerns with her -- and she takes holistic steps to alleviate them, from a PT referral, to prescriptions, to counseling referrals, to an in-office EKG. Her annual physicals are more thorough than any I've ever had. Even after moving away from Albuquerque, I have continued to travel back and see her as a self-pay patient. She's worth it. The office always has short wait times, and was very prudent with masking, temperature-taking, etc. during Covid, even after many other offices became lax on these things. All-around a wonderful practice.

I've had Dr Henderson as my PCP for over 5 years and have continued to receive declining service each time. When calling, I have been routinely placed on hold and disconnected for no reason. They have had a series of changes with their staff and I have seen 4 different people in four different visits. Today, I came in only to find out my appointment was cancelled without my knowledge. Not only did I take off work to run across town to make the appointment, I also was treated as if it was my problem. Completely unprofessional. Seeking a new PCP. It's no wonder their referrals and ratings are continuing to decline. Don't waste your time at this office.

First time here today on the recommendation of a coworker. I waited slightly longer than I would have liked, but as soon as I asked about it, I was brought back and taken care of immediately. Everyone I dealt with here, from the reception desk to the medical assistant and my main provider Genevieve, was outstanding. I was a little apprehensive about having a female doctor, but Genevieve was really friendly, knowledgable, and made me feel comfortable during my physical exam. The office and patient room were very clean and comfortable too. Great first experience with this practice and I'll definitely be bringing my daughter here as well. Thank you!

I've been going to Family Medicine for over 5 years and I've always been totally satisfied with the quality of care I've experienced. I was recently treated at a totally unrelated clinic over the course of several weeks where I endured 1-2 hour waits in an exam room before seeing a doctor who didn't inspire much confidence. The experience reaffirmed to me just how much better Family Medicine is. I've seen both Monica and Mindy who continually impress me with their professionalism, knowledge, and competence. I'd recommend Family Medicine to anyone in need of personal, quality primary care in Albuquerque.

  • Laurelita Smith

I have been going to this office for 25 years and they never disappoint. Initially I was Dr. Henderson's patient, but switched over to Mindy (don't even remember why because I loved Dr Henderson. It may have been a scheduling issue.) I was so fond of Mindy, comfortable and saddened by her retirement, but everything eventually comes to an end! I was reestablished with another provider but she didn't stay long due to relocation. I am now seeing Amy and very happy with her. I can always get a timely appointment, the wait is very minimal after check in, and the care is outstanding.

  • Tracy Morrison

I was sad to see so many negative reviews on Dr. Henderson's office especially the one on Eva. I have been a patient of Eva since 2012 when we first moved here. I couldn't find a doctor's office and randomly called Dr. Henderson. They were able to get me right in and have been going to their practice ever since. Eva is fantastic and I just love her. I also saw Monica a few times and just as fantastic as Eva. This is a great health care office. I prefer it than visiting Pres which is my insurance carrier. I have recommended their office many times to my clients.

This one star is for the Nurse Practitioner that saw me. Her name is Kathleen. She was more than 30 minutes late for my appt. I sat in the room waiting for her. I told her the reason why I was there and was confuse about what to do with my situation. She then focused on my neck. It is by far the oddest encounter I've experienced in the Medical Field. I actually prefer visiting the clinic in CVS because she was more thorough and really showed she cared for my well being. ABQ really has a massive problem in healthcare and Family Medicine, PC is a great example.

  • G. Wagg

Visited for first time and gave a poor review due to NP lack of caring attitude and her poor ability to communicate or even act like she cared. Office Manager called me afterwards and discussed my experience with me, so I was contemplating returning. I also erased my prior poor review to give them another opportunity. Several more experiences and I wouldn’t return there for anything (a referral was made that NP and I didn’t even discuss, office called to set up a physical when I told NP that I had one in October, and on and on. Not worth my time to say more.

  • Carina Salazar Jaramillo

EDIT: Family Medicine reached out to me to address this. Because of that I will increase my review and am willing to see them again as long as it is with another provider . I started coming to Family Medicine back in October when I saw a provider named Shaylee Abeyta who I liked because she made me feel heard and ordered the testing I requested. I recently went back for an annual physical with a Kathleen Kraft who had a very harsh and dismissive demeanor, would not order the testing I asked for, and made me feel like I was wasting her time.

They say they care for chronic disease but they really don’t. They send you all over creation and withhold your meds even when you need them to make you wait for your specialist appt. 6-8 weeks later As an indépendant caregiver if 30 years , I was assisting a patient who had an appt here and the nurse was just raging at the patient. Yelling screaming over the internet virtual and finally hung up on my client. That’s really not a good look people. Especially in age if TicToc. So THAT recording is going to nursing board ! Shame on you …

  • Fake Name

We will be leaving. My wife did bloodwork, they told her to stop all medications and get some addl testing done, not saying what appeared to be wrong but very serious about it. She did the testing and they never called. We followed up 2 weeks later and they said they haven't even looked at the results. It's been over a month and they still haven't gotten back to us. They better pray there's nothing serious, because I might look into whether this all counts as malpractice. Can it be malpractice if they neglect to practice at all?

  • Sally Cassady

The first time I went for an appointment I scheduled a well woman and they started doing a physical instead. Most recently I went for a physical to get blood work done and it's been two weeks since I got my blood drawn and I still haven't gotten my test results. I called today and tried to get someone to talk to me on the phone to give me my results and they told me would have the assistant call back by the end of the day. I still have not gotten a call back. Horrible customer service. I will be looking for a new provider.

  • Alexa

I'm sad to say I would not seek help here. The doctor forgot to do my labs at my apt and then said where are your labs at? I didn't do them? Now they want me to make another apt to do labs when I've already seen them and they should have done them in the first place. My old doctor Amy would have ran the labs and sent the request in after seeing me 1x for the issue I was in for. I just do not feel like health is prioritized here and that they are super understaffed in the doctor dept. I will not be going here anymore.

After months of looking for a place for medical care I found Family Medicine. I stroke gold. The staff at this office are very professionals. I personally prefer seeing a nurse practitioner and this practice has a great team. I’ve had the opportunity to meet most of the nurse practitioner and I can only say great things. No complaints. You might need to wait a few weeks to make an appointment as a new patient, it once you are in it’s easy. I have referred many friends and they are delighted with this practice.

  • Diana girst EDM 2019 stuff

The nurse that checked me in was kind and didn't mind when I added or deleted incorrect information regarding my past health. The PA that I saw took her time to get to know me and my extensive medical history. She explained the things that I needed to do and what I should be doing d to keep me healthy. Thank you for being so kind and caring. I've been going to Family Medicine for over 33 years and enjoy the office staff and atmosphere. I highly recommend them if your looking for a new Primary Care Provider.

  • Jules Foxy

Danielle was professional and understanding in answering the phone and in person. Phillip was simply amazing! He sat down and listened to my concerns and asked thoughtful questions. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt “heard” versus feeling like patient number so and so. I called with an unusual issue and they were able to get me in the same day and effectively address my issue. I am blessed to have such a badass team looking out for my health. Thank you and keep up the great job!

  • Pamela Hueter Varelas

Needed to find a primary care physician have been having a hard time for the last year. I was told about Family Medicine. I was able to get an appointment right away. When I arrived the staff was friendly and professional. Making sure that they are doing everything they can to keep everyone safe during Covid 19. Once I saw the nurse practitioner she took alot of time to aks me questions and made sure I was comfortable and had all my questions answered. Highly recommend this place

  • Cindy

I am so Thankful for Jennifer Duffy and her amazing nurse. Finally after living for years with the pain and nausea of my stomach issues, I am getting some relief. I Appreciate that Jennifer listens and understands my concerns and works with me so we are both on the same page for what is best for me! Her nurse is Awesome and she’s great about getting back to me when I leave a message. The front desk staff is always kind. So happy I found this place for my health care…

  • Kyle Boe

I went in to see Dr. Fithen for abdominal cramps that I had been getting after having received the COVID vaccine. Not only did she give me advice for easing my symptoms and order me a form to take to a specialist, but the office has been calling me regularly to make sure I’m doing well during the entire process and has been going out of their way to ensure I’m able to see someone when needed as soon as I can. I’m glad I made them my go-to healthcare provider.

  • Jennifer Leigh

So grateful for this office. I was injured while shopping, and being a military transplant, did not yet have an established provider in Albuquerque. My friend referred me, and when I called, Dr. Henderson's office got me in the next day. Their follow-up has been amazing - I get phone calls every few weeks checking to make sure I'm progressing. So grateful for their attentiveness, common sense approach, and ability to see "the big picture" with my care plan.

  • Kathryn Jennings

I was so I tired of the big box medicine, I really missed the personal touch of a family doctor I remembered as a kid. So when it was time to for me to find a new primary I was so happy I found Family Medicine. They really have been everything I was looking for. The office staff is always friendly and even remember me. Natalia Rich is hands downs the best provider. I always look forward to my appointments with her. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

  • Arianna Tran

I have been to two of the nurse practitioners here and they have both been awesome! Monica left, but the office let me see Jenny and she was very kind, asked lots of questions and answered my concerns. I think I've finally found a primary care place that I'll stick with. The office staff and medical assistants/nurses were all really kind as well. Its been hard to find somewhere to go in Abq for primary care, so I'm thankful to have found somewhere!

  • Alejandra Dozal

I absolutely am blessed I go to Family Medicine. The receptionists are incredible. They call you back, when they say they will, they are extremely busy and still make time for you. Dr. Cardona is an incredible doctor, person. She truly cares. Anyone in that office can never let me down. I call them and they know me.. Truly blessed to have met Dr. Henderson, Stephanie, Dr. Genny, Araceli and the rest of the staff.

  • Marybeth Montano

I have been a patient at Family Medicine for over 10 years. They are responsive, listen and follow through on my concerns and questions. I am able to get same day appointments for when I need to be seen quickly, and I am very pleased with all of the NPs that I have worked with. Genny Cardona is wonderful and has taken the time to know me and my medical history. I am finally comfortable "going to the doctor!"

  • SusanClaire Vogle

Last 3 years has been pretty bad there. Constant PA turn over, 4 to 10 days to get refills called in and that was after many messages left and calls not returned. Too aggravating to put up with this nonsense anymore. Found new provider and will never return after 20+ years. Do not recommend unless you want to spend hours trying to get this office to do a somewhat competent job.

  • John

Great place that doesn't make you feel like a cog in the healthcare machine. Genny and her assistant Nathan are great. They always get back to me as soon as possible and make me feel welcome. If I have any issues they'll advocate for my needs till its resolved. Unsure of the other provider reviews but if you can get in with Genny you won't regret it. 6 stars if I could.

  • Robert Flores

I had a scheduled appointment, didn't get seen for at least 45min. Also, once Dr. Kathleen Kraft saw me, she was very rude. After describing my symptoms, she questioned me like if I really didnt have them?! If you must be seen here, see someone else other than Dr. Kraft. The front desk was very professional, but everything else, nope, not even worth it.

  • Ruby Salas

I walked in with no appointment and in alot of pain. Everyone was so friendly and compassionate, made my pain a little bit easier to tolerate. They took very good care of me, got me in and out and on my way with everything i needed to take care of my tooth. I will definitely recommend them. And I will be back . Thank you Famiky Medicine on 98th st.

  • Grace

I have been a patient here since 2006. The quality of care is great. I had Mindy for many years and loved her. Sadly she retired. However Genny showed me that there is still caring and amazing practitioners she went over and beyond for me also a special shoutout to Eva who is my girls. Thank you again Family Medicine.

  • Felecia Caton Garcia

So far I have had nothing but good experiences at Family Medicine. Today, Eva Houghton was friendly and listened to what I had to say about my symptoms and experiences. I am confident in her diagnosis, and my prescriptions were immediately emailed to the pharmacy. I intend to schedule my annual checkup with her.

  • Denise Zoe Algire

Very organized office. I always get text messages and emails to remind me of my appointments and they are always on time. Wait time in the lobby is minimal. The nurse practitioner Jana is fantastic very thorough. It is rare nowadays to find a provider that takes the time to do a full system check in every visit.

  • said Hamdani

The worst place. Something is wrong there and High turnover l. Why good doctors leave in short time. Whenever I call to ask for my primary doctor. They told me sorry that doctor left. Can’t believe playing insurance and can’t see primary doctor, always has to go through urgent. NM needs better health system

  • J Monson

It is easy and convenient to make an appointment with this practice. The providers are courteous and take the time to listen. My only concern is the frequent change over in practitioners in the last couple of years. It would be nice to be able to establish a relationship with one practitioner.

  • Candace Gurnett-Rice

I LOVE EVA!! Best provider EVER!! She listens, She cares, she’s personable, she is knowledgeable, she is the best. I appreciate the time she gives during appointments and that she is always willing to look into anything that is of concern. She really is the best provider I have ever had.

  • Janet

I love Family Medicine and Jenise Rancher and Nick are always wonderful!! All the staff is. I tell all of my friends and family to go to Family Medicine. You are valued and truly heard as a patient. You are never made to feel like what you're going through is ridiculous.

  • Jessie Burns

Great service. I'm a new patient and was trying to find a new PCP. They exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely friendly. There was very little wait. The facility is very clean. Doctor was caring and through. Really listened to my answers and asked questions.

  • Dawn Beyer

I love ginnie my regular doctor but I saw Amanda today she was very rude don’t recommend her she talk down to me very upset I will only see ginnie from now on she is so wonderful and lucky to have her but Amanda never again she makes that place look bad so snobby

  • E B (PhoenixSavant)

Several years as a patient here. Recommend this office any time I hear someone is looking for a primary. Genny has been amazing. Always thorough and leaves me feeling like a person, not a number.

  • Gerry Williams

I have been a patient of family medicine since 1977. There is no better place for Quality Health Care and a Patient Focused Practice

  • Elizabeth Flores

Pleasant, thorough and listened to my concerns. CNP Duffy and Aaron provided referrals and followup. I appreciate the care!
