Overall, I would rate our stay at Fleur de Lis Mansion at least 5 stars!!! My review is pretty lengthy as I want to share as much info as I can with prospective guests BUT...I want to get the ONLY negative comment out of the way first, before I go ON & ON about how much we loved the property, how great our experience was, our fabulous room was and the hospitality of our lovely innkeeper(s) . Negative: The breakfast is nothing to write home about. Literally, here is the list of items offered for breakfast: coffee, milk, juice, canisters of cereal (none of which I like), king cake, bagels and waffles (but the waffle iron doesn't work well and should really be replaced, especially considering how inexpensive waffle makers are these days) and hard boiled eggs. So I will just say that the mediocre (at best) breakfast should not be an incentive in helping you decide to stay here. You do have free reign of their beautiful gourmet kitchen!!! As we aren't big breakfast eaters, this is NOT a deal breaker for my husband and myself. All we did was eat while we were in New Orleans anyway so that just meant we could sleep in rather than get up for their breakfast. With that said, they MORE than make up for the breakfast with their cocktail hour! Complimentary wine & beer is set up in the gorgeous dining room! This really encourages guest interaction and we met several other guests during our stay. Location: It was about one mile to Canal Street. Less than half a mile to St Charles. Several of the BEST restaurants in NOLA are within a half mile radius of Fleur de Lis! This is an ideal location and we felt safe every time we walked home. We also took a cab twice and found that the "traffic" from our B&B to the heart of the quarter was easily maneuvered by the drivers and the cost was minimal. We walked to the trolley station on Julia St (by the cruise terminal) easily and rode that down to French Market then walked back from there. We walked to and from the WWII Museum, Emeril's and St. Charles with no issues whatsoever. The Room: We had the Royal Suite for our 3 night trip and it was magnificent! We absolutely LOVE the balcony and spent every night sitting outside enjoying each other's company, the view, watching the neighborhood and generally relaxing into the wee hours of the morning. Get this room if you can!!! However, there is a major drawback: There is no bathroom. Let that sink in for a minute. The toilet and Jacuzzi tub are IN THE ROOM (no door to close for privacy). There's an outdoor shower, which wouldn't be bad during warmer months, but we were staying in December. Not an issue to urinate with the room divider blocking your spouse's view, but a little uncomfortable to defecate with someone in the same room...no matter who that person is! Again, the tradeoff was absolutely worth it considering the AMAZING balcony, which is where we would sit while the other used the toilet. Not a big deal, but you should definitely be aware... Innkeeper & property: The innkeeper, Lisa, was leaving the B&B and training her replacement, Sage, while we were there. Both were wonderful, very kind & patient, plus they were very helpful with any questions we had. There is a book we read the whole time we were there that was about nothing but Where to Eat! Peruse that while you're in your room and you WILL find a fantastic restaurant. The grounds of the Mansion are very quaint and unique...you will not find anything else like this place. There are multiple outdoor areas to commune with your party or new friends you meet. There is a media room to watch movies or sporting events as well as two hot tubs! They also have a great outdoor kitchen and a cool little area that is actually underneath the highway... We didn't get to check out the other rooms, but their website has photos and detailed descriptions of each available room. I would absolutely recommend this property to every single person I know!

This place is great for relaxing or romantic weekend getaway in the city. This review will be for a year ago but luckily I wrote myself a reminder to write a review. So I will be writing a full review with the plus and minuses. To start off, We went here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary but I accidentally booked for the weekend before. I called a couple days before my intended stay to ask a question and was informed that we didn't show up for our stay, that I had actually booked the previous weekend. They were VERY understanding and since the room I wanted was still available, they allowed us to come without any hassle or additional money. The mansion was "right" off the interstate and upon pulling up we were a little unsure about the place and the pictures we seen online. My wife waited in the car while I went to check the place out and as soon as i walked through the gate I went back to get my wife. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Royal Suite and it was so nice I could have stayed in it the whole weekend without leaving it. We had our on balcony, a private outdoor shower, the room was open with a lot of space, and the bed pulled down from the wall which gave us more space in the room when we were not in the bed. They provide options for breakfast and even had Jimmy Dean sandwiches available. Unlike the picture online, there was no staff member attending the cocktail hour but that was fine with us as we took our drinks to our room instead. 2 days after leaving I realized I left our wedding pictures in the cabinet in our room and the staff went in the room to find them and held the pictures in the office for 2 weeks until I could come and get them. TO give a full and accurate review I must post the negatives as well although there were not many. It close to the Interstate so if we were outside on the balcony we would hear that somewhat and the 2nd hot tub in the back is actually under an exit off of the bridge. Parking is on the street and may not be able to park close if attending when the place is fully booked. Outside of that, we loved this place and intend to go back. If you are looking for a relaxing or romantic place to stay for the weekend in New Orleans I do not think there is a better place to do it than the Fleur De Lis Mansion.

First, the entrance to the mansion is through a window! Very odd but moving along, we were never greeted as we stood at the front desk! The host had her back turned from the time we walked in, until she turned around with papers for us to sign. Never even asked my name so I'm just assuming our room was the last one that no one checked into. Once we got to our room, which was the "WHITE ROOM" It had a very loud bleach smell upon walking in & as much as I wanted to fall in love with this room, it felt wierd & seemed as if we were staying in a basement with brick walls painted white! The very tiny toilet was literally in a small closet like space. Even worse, the toilet seat wasnt fit to the toilet, as it was visibly smaller than the actual toilet. There are absolutely no blinds, only curtains, and I could still SEE people walking past our room. The walking path is literally outside, right outside of the rooms. It didn't feel safe at all. We were so uncomfortable, we left after about 30 minutes of me trying to convince myself we could stay here. I would have just kept my review to myself if I hadn't received such a horrible response once I called to let them know we were not satisfied & wouldn't be staying there. We were asked what seemed misleading & why would we wait 3 hours to call & not let them know prior to us leaving!? Well, with it being a very busy weekend in the city, I didn't know if we could find anywhere else & needed to figure out if we would just SETTLE for that & try to stay gone long enough for us to only come back to sleep! We ended up cutting our stay short & driving 4 hrs home! Very dissappointed! & Judging by the bad reviews, they respond negatively to everyone who doesn't have good things to say about this place.

I will not ever reserve a room here again. I am traveling on official Army business and I need a room to stay in that night. So while driving at around 9 pm, Google found Fleur de Lys as one of the hotels near me. I called and reserved the room with the lady who answered. She informed me that there is no personnel working at night (What??). She gave me codes to enter my room. A few minutes later she emails me a receipt. On the receipt it states something about a 72,hour cancelation period. I thought it didn't apply yet as I just placed a hold on the room and had signed nothing. I arrived and was able to view the entire room while standing outside as it was that small. I was even able to turn on the light. The room smelled strongly of mildew. So I called the number someone left on a blackboard but only got voicemail. I stated that I would not be staying and that I would like to cancel my reservation and the hold on my credit card. I stayed at another hotel for the same price that night. I called the next afternoon as the lady did not return my call. The lady who took my credit card information turned out to be the owner. She offered me half back but I did not think that was right as I did not spend the night there. She accused me of lying. I told her that I would talk to Army Legal to get her bed and breakfast banned for military members for bad business practices. She stated that the 72 hour cancelation policy is on the receipt. I told her that I thought this was a hold, not actually payment for the room, and a 72 hour cancelation policy needs to be told to the customer PRIOR to swiping their credit card even the customer is making a reservation for less than 72 hours. Beware of this hotel, people!

My husband wanted to surprise me for our Anniversary in May. He worked with the owner to rent the entire bed and breakfast, he thought inviting some of our close friends to join us would make for an even greater surprise, and who could resist a trip to New Orleans when you accommodations are covered. Because my husband rented the entire house, the owner offered a discounted rate if he paid in cash:-(, my husband is so trusting, one of the things I love most about him. But as you can imagine that was not a great decision. When a stay at home Executive Order was issued in Maryland and Louisiana, preventing us from traveling and staying in New Orleans, the owner of this establishment refused to give my husband a full refund. He told my husband he would have to wait until he knew the Execute Order would be extended over the time of our trip (who would be traveling during a pandemic even if it is lifted??... but okay we'll wait) Of course it was extended, the bed and breakfast and both cities remained lockdown. We were refused a full refund. As a small business I'm certain they are eligible for government assistance. As individuals, we are not. They kept nearly $1,800 of the cash my husband sent for the rental. I think that is absolutley ridiculous, and tells you everything you need to know about the character of the owner. Took the money, did not provide a service, and refused a refund in full. We gave him a personal bailout that he does not have to re-pay. I hope he needed it more than we did, which I doubt. Disgusting and Disgusted.

We just took a retreat to get away from all the covid news, protest craziness, working from home, break from the kids all that. I surprised my partner with the trip and it was absolutely amazing. The owner worked with me to surprise her in several ways, and she didn't have a clue. We stayed in the Fleur De Lis suite. The suite has a jacuzzi hot tub in the bedroom, along with a huge shower with 6 shower heads, A/C and a steam system, etc. There is a beautiful courtyard and patio area. The hosts let me know up front that the restaurant was closed because of Covid19 and I was fine with that. This romantic getaway was just what we needed, and we didn't leave the suite except to enjoy the patio or get food from some of the amazing restaurants nearby. Rome the property manager was truly a dream come true. My partner thought I had a cheap room at a dingy motel (wanted to surprise her) but we got to the mansion and she walked into a suite with a bubble bath prepared, a heart of rose pedals on the bed, and a trail of rose pedals from the bath to the bed. There was also champagne chilled and a bottle of wine ready. I had purchased the romance packages, which were an incredible value. Theres a huge hottub outside with projector screen for watching sports or whatever you choose, and a patio media center room with seating for a lot of people, along with outdoor kitchen including oven and stove.

We Rented the Fleur De Lis Mansion for a Mardi Gras wedding week extravaganza. First of all, the InnKeeper Rome, is OUTSTANDING! She adds so much value! Because I was planning long distance, I depended on her for recommendations such as a bartender and caterer. Her recommendations were wonderful. This old house is funky and New Orleans eclectic and a safe place for a large party. The location is out of the way but close to everything. There was ample off street parking for about 20 cars. Even though we were at full capacity with about 24 guests, there was plenty of space and privacy. My husband saw a ghost! He woke up to see a "lady" standing next to our bed with a soft lavender hue around her. He sat up to get a closer look and she was gone. Nothing scary or spooky, just an vision. We would recommend the Fleur De Lis Mansion to anyone. The only downside was that, because it was Mardi Gras, we had to pay extra for maid service and did not get continental breakfast that is typically included int the cost. We paid extra for maid service, who insisted to get paid as soon as they showed up, before working, and left within an hour and did little work.

The mansion was beautiful and eclectic.. it had a lot of Nola charm. I loved the exposed brick in the room and we made use of the shared outdoor area and hot tub. One thing I would recommend is that maybe they get a new innkeeper or pay the woman at the front desk more money so that she acts friendly.. my partner and I walked in and said “hello” and she completely ignored us. Also, be prepared to strip your own bed, take out your own garbage, bring all dishes downstairs, etc. There are quite a bit of chores expected before you can check out. Lastly, we left our bags in the lobby area for a few hours while waiting for our flight time and then we were bombarded with phone calls, air b&b messages, and texts saying we needed to get them out. At no point were we told the bags needed to be out by a certain time, but suddenly they said there was a private party and they’d be locking us out of the hotel. Overall, the place was nice and charming.. but the customer service left a lot to be desired. Maybe skip it, and find something closer to the French Quarter.

  • Alessaundria Albiniano

We honeymooned in the royal suite. From an ourdoor deck with a bbq to our outdoor shower and the jacuzzi tub in our room, everything about our space was royal. On the grounds there is a huge patio with multiple water features that span almost the whole length of the property. A nice media room, beautiful large kitchen and dinning room. Rome was such a lovely lady to converse with and get tips to local sites and restaurants. The breakfast was amazing in particular, the king cake and handmade bagels. I would stay here a million and 1 times again. Its location is convenient to so many things and quick access to the highway. This was our cherry top to an amazing honeymoon. It wouldn't of been memorable at all without this place in the equation. So for you review readers, this place was out of this world. The Eclectic, classy, yet comfortable and homey vibe of this entire place is something you shouldn't miss out on..... You won't regret staying here. I promise you that.

This place is awesome. I recently the whole mansion for a long weekend for a reunion and it was ideal for our group. The owners, Jim and Lauren, are great. They live in the apartment above the rest of the house (totally separate from the part you rent out - not weird at all) and they were very helpful in helping us set up and execute a really fun weekend. The house itself is fantastic: Common areas: huge kitchen and living room area, ridiculously cool theater room, outdoor hot tub. Tons of amenities everywhere - it is packed to the brim with TVs, speakers, fridges, grills, etc. Bedrooms: Each room is decorated in its own unique funky New Orleans style, but all very classy with nice high-end touches like flat screen TVs and sound systems. Very comfy beds and high quality air conditioning in every room. Book this - it is wayyyy more fun than staying in some boring hotel like every other hotel you've ever been in. I reiterate: This place is awesome.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast with my fiancé for our anniversary trip to NOLA. Other all the room was great, we booked through Airbnb so we didn’t really have contact with anyone at the property except for hi’s and bye’s. The breakfast although included was bagels, fruit, store bought mini muffins, and instant oatmeal/grits. It was a bit disappointing not to have anything hot but we made do. The location is in the lower garden District which made it difficult to walk to tourists stops but the Uber/Lyft was only about $10 and took 15 mins so not too bad. We stayed in the champagne room and it was a great room. The only thing I didn’t like were the sinks, they were too high and got water everywhere. We couldn’t figure out how to use the tv in the shower but we didn’t really need it so it didn’t matter. The movie room and jacuzzi were really nice too. It was a great place to stay and the price wasn’t that bad either.

  • The Princess B

I don’t even know where to start! Had the most amazing time. They go out of their way to accommodate you. I stayed by myself and had plenty to do. There are add ons you can include and I booked myself a romance package which was amazing. The in room jacuzzi WAS MAGICAl I did I rose pettal bath. Then the chef was so amazing she catered me a vegan meal and was better than vegan restaurants I’ve been to. I was alone and staff members were so kind and took pictures of me. There’s an outdoor heated jacuzzi pool which was so amazing, a movie room with a projector, a garden with fresh herbs you can use, a grill, patio, and soooo much more. I will definitely be back. It’s a beautiful property

Spent a holiday there with the whole family, was disappointed upon arrival. Pictures of the rooms were obviously taken when the place was just renovated, over ten years ago, now the rooms are not well kept. The bathrooms left a lot to be desired, just operating the shower heads was confusing, also some of the shower drains kept backing up, (standing in 2 inches of water while taking a shower was not pleasant). The common areas were dirty with tools lying around, stairs were unsafe to walk up and down, especially if the were wet. The front of the place was was over grown with bushes . Overall experience staying there was not pleasant.

If you are in the mood for something a little different, this is the perfect place. We were able to easily get to the French quarter and the garden district and there is a Walmart that is not to far away if you forget anything or your phone charger quits mid vacation. The trolley/bus passes are cheap and there is a bus stop right out front and the trolley line is a few blocks away. The staff were very friendly and the accommodations were the perfect mix of complete and unique. This is not the holiday inn, so don't expect that type of experience, but we found it to be the perfect compliment to our city trip. A very unique courtyard and the most unique outdoor living area that you will ever find.

  • Austin Lowery

I loved the hosts and the layout of the HISTORIC building. There are multiple, unique, themed rooms. The hot tub was awesome, but, I wish the hours of use could extend a little (after 10pm quiet hours). I get quiet hours, but considering the area out back is quite industrial and under a loud OVERPASS near the bridge anyway, I figure some leeway would be great. My bed's mattress left something to be desired, so my back didn't particularly like the wood under it... probably my only complaint. It was a great deal, but we moved to a hotel suite the last day of our trip and it was a great improvement, sorry to admit. They were very nice and the hospitality was A+.

  • Cheryl Prater

I love staying here. It’s so convenient to everything. The rooms are so cute and the bed is super comfy. My biggest request is a comfortable bed and I have stayed on two different rooms here and the beds were great. I love how they have the hot tube and plunge pool combo so I can soak my tired muscles after a long day and then cool off in the pool with a glass of wine. I am trying to get a group of friends together to rent the whole place out. That would be a blast. Will continue to book here and refer friends

I enjoyed my time at the mansion. The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating. They provided me with information on attractions, places to eat and I also had a chef come and prepare food for us the last night of our stay. The room was clean with details that paid homage to the city and the history of the home. The hot tub was relaxing and just what we needed after site seeing. I can’t wait to come back and stay in the other 8 rooms! Great experience!

One of the coolest rentals you will ever stay at. Nine of us rented out the Mansion for Halloween Weekend 2015. Here is what you need to know: 1.The pictures don't really do the Mansion justice...it's better in person and your jaw will drop as you get the tour 2.Its only a $6.50 cab ride from Bourbon Street - so just far enough away from "the action" 3.It's got all the NOLA charm you can ask for and the neighborhood is safe. 4.The staff rocks - especially Jim and Lauren and cousin Bobby 5.We will be back :)

Beautiful location, the room was just what we needed! It was clean, I choose this room specifically for the tub with jets. I always do a wipe down with a Clorox wipe prior to getting in. There was nothing on the wipe! It was perfectly cleaned! The check in with the auto lock is so convenient! If you NEED no light to sleep just know there is quite of bit of light that comes through. But if you like a night light it’s perfect! It

WOW!!! Is the first words that came out our mouths as we walked into our room. We stayed in the Royal Suite. Which has to be the best suite ever. From the moment you enter the room. Thank you staff for setting up a romantic atmosphere. I can not express how amazing this place is. The pic does no justice. The quality of everything is great. We plan on coming back and telling all my family and friends about this place. Posting pic of our experience. 5 stars rating overall

  • S C

Nice rooms and accommodations. The White Room is not very dark at night though. If we weren't exhausted we definitely would have had trouble falling asleep. I am taking two stars off mainly due to a hectic and confusing experience after a discrepancy in booking between TripAdvisor and Fleur-de-lis. We were told we were being moved multiple times and ended up spending one of our booked nights at a different property, which while nice, was not preferred.

  • Elissa May

Stayed in the Hollywood bungalow and it was an interesting room. Each room has its own theme so no two rooms are the same. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is very good. Plus they have complementary alcohol from 6-7. They have a nice patio with tvs, outdoor kitchen, and two Jacuzzis. If I had one negative it is under an over pass so you hear traffic but it's not loud that it's a problem. I'd definitely stay again.

  • Ari Deitch

Staff was very friendly and rooms were nice and updated although a little smaller than we would have liked. Only negative comment I have is be careful booking through airbnb. We originally booked a larger room and they later called us to say the room we booked was not available. Then they tried to charge us the same price for a smaller room but after bringing the cost to their attention they lowered the price.

  • Laken Morris

My favorite place to stay in New Orleans! Each room has its own unique feel. The staff are welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need during your stay. 10/10 recommend all of my family/friends to stay here when in NOLA. Nice place to stay with a large group. Most of the suits are extremely interesting but have basic amenities, you might have to take a leak kneeling in one of the suits but not if your early to arrive and get one of the nice downstairs rooms first. Swim spa was a nice touch and common area in kitchen was big enough for large group to hang. A bit of a walk to bourbon and downtown but cheap Uber.

  • Cleo 5208

Wow what a weird place but that’s kind of why I love it. My only complain most the bathrooms are in really tight and small places but overall pretty cool. All the rooms were pretty cool but the Hollywood room… we don’t talk about the Hollywood room. Hot tub was big and really nice too. Great place for the fam.

It was a great hideaway. The room was everything i hoped for fancy, but not tight. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for cooking lunch prior to taking a dip in the hot tub with my glass of wine. everyone on the property were very nice, and never intrusive. It a home away from home, if you home was a super awesome chic hideaway. Oh! and its only steps away from downtown.

The lady who I called early in the morning to ask about a stay with the hotel was very nasty and rude. She told me it was to early for this and she was sleeping right now. She claimed to be the manager but clearly that is not how I manager behaves. I definitely recommend no one to go to this hotel and they have bedbugs. Don’t trust the pictures!

  • Phoebe Michelle

Objects in photos are larger than they are! The rooms are way smaller than appears on the website. Also, I would advise against renting the following rooms: Bourbon, Hollywood or River. My fave rooms, in order are: Fleur de Lis, Royal Suite and Red Room. For a large group it was ok but we wouldn't rent this location again as a group.

We rented the entire mansion for a large group when we were in town for a large conference and it could not have been more perfect. The location is amazing - walking distance to the convention center, the French Quarter, and the Garden District (specifically Magazine Street). Would highly recommend the Fleur De Lis Mansion!

Adorable mansion that we rented out for a joint bachelor and bachelorette party. Its like a maze! Every room has a different theme and an en-suite bathroom. One bedroom has all walls covered with mirrors! So cool. It feels very New Orleans, giant kitchen area, hot tub, movie room. Very fun time!

  • Chantrece Mitchell

Wow! What an eclectic place! Fun rooms and a full kitchen. Come with a group and sit in the hot tub with a booming sound system. Several lounging areas on the property where you can slip off into a great outdoor nap! Convenient location and walking distance from the Morial Convention Center.

  • Kinsey Showers

Staying here was such a unique experience! The hotel was a tad hard to navigate, but it is big! The room was very clean, the staff very nice as well. Stayed in the hollywood room and loved it! This house is awesome to stay in if you want something quirky and different than any other hotel!

  • Brittney Cossey

Amazing very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are a bit small but very nice and I loved how they had so much stuff to do, theater, multiple hot tubs, grilling area, wine bar and the lady at the desk was very nice she helped us by renting us a room at 10pm when everybody was booked solid

  • Sara Thielenhaus

Fleur de Lis mansion was everything we wanted!!! Such a peaceful slice of heaven within walking distance of the French Quarter! Make sure to check out Fat Boy Pantry nearby for the best Lobster Po’Boy ever!

This place is amazing! I surprised my husband with a one night stay for his birthday and it was perfect! We stayed in the white room which is super sexy! My husband loved the mansion! We will definitely stay there again!! By the way, the innkeeper Lisa was really nice & helpful!!

  • DB Tabasco

This was a delight, close enough and far enough from everywhere we wanted to be. The river room was cozy and it is as all very affordable.

I would give them 10 stars with the hospitality and ambience Staff is wonderful I am starting a travel club just to come back to this place Definitely worth the cost which in itself low cost Rooms are amazing Tranquil environment Best bargain with great return

  • Andrew Thruston

This place was great! The owner and staff were attentive and helpful with local intel. Breakfast was easily accessible as if it was my own kitchen. 2 hot tubs made it easy to get away. Highly recommend and we plan on a return trip to try another themed room!

  • Caitlin Emmons

We stayed in late November and LOVED the common area kitchen! Our room was the Champagne room, which we adored. Everthing works wonderfully and the hot tub was a super cool feature for those chilly nights. I wish there was more history

  • Jenny Redo

We rented out the whole place for my husband's birthday. The place is very nice. The beds, showers, and air-conditioning were all great. The reason I didn't give 5-stars is that each room smelled of new paint and cigarettes.

  • Janea Lowe

Great place to stay. It's about a 30min walk to the French quarter. The service was great and the complimentary breakfast saved us a few times.

I loved everything about my stay, the manager/staff was such a sweetheart, everything looked exactly like the pictures, I had no problems with anything...it was absolutely beautiful. That won't be my last time. Amazing

  • Chris Cannavo

Beautiful building. The character was evident from the curb. Friendly staff and fun amenities. Our only complaint was that the shower in our Fleur de Lis Suite wasn't fully working. However, we still loved our stay.

  • James Z

Awesome, unique experience. Each room is so different and gives a great feel for the city of New Orleans. Away from the craziness but close enough to walk. Would definitely stay again

  • Jen Vestal

The hotel and staff were nice but we were not very happy with our room (Hollywood). There was no privacy for the bathroom and the walls and ceiling covered in mirrors was too much.

  • David peale

They made our wedding the best day ever, this place truly is the best of everything!!! Special days are meant for special places and this place deserves every accolade possible!!!

  • Diana Sansom

Staff was amazing, they went above and beyond to make our honey moon fantastic. Location was close to the touristy attractions, though it was a bit shady at night.

  • Jennifer Konnecker

This place was amazing! I felt like a queen. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend for a romantic getaway!

  • Susan Raplee
