Barry Toogood has been my florist of choice for many years, ever since he LISTENED when we were arranging funeral flowers. (As opposed to handing us a printed catalogue.) He provides consistent good quality flowers, often goes the extra mile (lily of the valley in January?) and gives outstanding personalised customer service. He and Jayne also seem to like their customers (not something to be taken for granted). This Christmas my nephew obtained from him (for lucky me) an outstanding planted basket of stunning white and green plants which will keep growing and provide many weeks of interest before going into the garden. He is simply the best.

Barry provides a fantastic service. He advises me on the best value and options for flowers, cards, chocolates and plants. He's my go-to shop for these as he's reliable, has plenty of variety, and is great value - a huge asset to the local area. Going to Barry's is also a good excuse for coffee and cake from the other local shops (when not in lockdown). My fiancee is always impressed that I take professional advice on flowers! The supermarket alternative never really conveys the same message.

I have to admit that from my home in Yorkshire, I chose Barry at random. And what good fortune! The flowers were so beautiful and fresh, and the service was quite simply outstanding. Thanks to Barry, my elderly mum was able to see her dearest friend holding a lovely bouquet of spring flowers. My Dad and I recently asked Barry to arrange flowers for the coffin for my Mum’s funeral. Barry was compassionate and attentive whilst guiding us in our choices, taking the time to find out about us as a family and what flowers my Mum liked and selecting suitable stems. Beautiful flowers and very helpful family run shop. They are always willing to talk through options of what the intended recipient likes and what might be suitable. The greeting cards are not your usual 'run of the mill' selection. I'm always guaranteed to find something suitable.

Fantastic place. Would highly recommend. Went in to get a dozen red roses, they only had 6 fresh red roses left, so was given the other 6 (which were pretty fresh) for free as long as I didn't tell anyone I paid for them so they wouldn't think I was sold inferior quality roses.

We got a few houseplants here when we first moved over from the States in the summer. One has died, but that was on us! We also got a small potted pine for Christmas. We love this neighborhood shop.

Always very helpful and willing to give suggestions. You may pay a little more but the selection of plants and flowers is much more interesting and last longer than anything from the supermarket
