Dirty, and horrible employees attitudes. We had previous encounters with the store manager, Benny, that fell very short of pleasant. My family made three complains regarding this merchant requiring ID with the purchase using credit card as a method of payment, which is in the violation of consumer privacy, as well as MasterCard agreement. Yet the manager of this place, Benny, is not even aware that it is against his contractual obligations with Mastercard to require identification with the purchase using my signed Mastercard as a method of payment. I spoke to MasterCard customer service and have obtained the copy of the contract that is being violated. Thank you. NOTICE TO BUSINESS: As a result of those encounters and the store practice on requiring ID with credit card purchases, we stopped using the store that is right next to our house for all but the most urgent and low ticket items. I believe we are not the only household in our building who switched stores ever since Compare Foods purchased/renamed Associated. our grocery expenses are in the range of $450-500/month, i.e. close to $6,000 a year.

Compare Foods is not without its issues one of the main for me is the fact that some expired items remain on the shelf. People who shop at this store should know they have purchased quality products within a safe expiration date. I would ADVISED ANYONE shopping to ALWAYS looks at the dairy products as it is that department that tends to keep expired milk, yogurt, and cream cheese very close or after its expiration date. Now on the plus side, I do like shopping there and as a smart consumer I keep my eyes open for the negative and keep my eyes open for any issues but I have had no serious problems with 98% of the items I purchase. In addition, I advise when you purchase sandwiches you STAY AT THE DELI and watch and let them know if you are not happy with what you see. I though, have not had any issues with the deli as I LOVE the freshly made cole slaw, potato & macaroni salads and the service is very decent and the servers are courteous at least to me. SHOP WITH INTELLIGENCE and you all should do fine when you shop.

Hit and miss, decent neighborhood spot. Good produce. Clean establishment. Often no prices marked on merchandise. Supermarket that runs more like a corner bodega. Have found management to have a "don't bother me" attitude. Always seems to be a reason why they do not honor manufacturer's coupons. Okay if you're in the neighborhood and know exactly what you want, but I wouldn't travel there. Update July 2019, they are closing this supermarket. Right now they are only accepting cash and the shelves are bare, they are selling most items at a considerable markdown just pay attention to expiration dates...what is in the shelves is what they have currently. Unknown if will reopen under new management/owners. While it may not have always been a great shopping experience it was a decent option most days.

Horrible treatment from staff. I came 10 mins before closing, a small girl right in front of me was let in, I was stopped at the door and was told the store is closing. I pointed it's still 10 mins till 9pm, you just let customer in and I will just grab a fruit and pay and leave. Meantime another person passed us and was let in and staff ignored me and started sliding door in front of me. I walked out in disbelief and when I turned around I watched a family of the girl who were previously waiting in front being let in. I know I was the only person who ddin't speak spanish but that is not a reason for this kind of treatment in 2023.

This is my Neighborhood grocery store I love it always clean always stocked staff are on point I've been treated well & greeted respectably I look forward to shopping here always a few cashiers have went outta there way for me when I was short on money to buy food for my pets they would reach into there tip cup and pay what I was short....that alone won my support ....and that deli crew is undoubtedly on point and clean and when they close they leave nice variety of cold cuts and cheese...and salads in the display shelf....God Bless this store & the staff....MOKGORO#7....CRUGER & BRONXDALE.....BX OR BE NEXT!!!!!!!

The place is good overall. Ever since the old supermarket closed and the former owners are gone. This new supermarket is much better. Clean and mostly well stocked. My only issue is the “fresh” bread. The Italian, Cuban, and Puerto Rican bread are obviously in the fridge before being put out for purchase. Most of the time the bread is cold and sometimes wet from the moisture after being taken out of the fridge and placed on the shelf. Refrigerated bread isn’t good, it gets ice crystals which then melt and make the bread mood faster.

No joke. On some serious stuff I never leave google reviews but.. CHECK YOUR EGGS. Bottom of some of them have mold. CHECK DATES ON EVERYTHING. I got peppers that were a month expired and canned goods. NOTICE CANNED GOODS ARENT ORGANIZED there’s different versions of the same stuff down different isles. Decent prices but I don’t trust goods after my experience. Would have given one star but store is in a good location and they have decent beer.

I went to buy baby food and the shelf said one price got to the register and it scanned a different price. They Did Not give it to me for the price that it was labeled. That was a turn off. And yes they do have attitudes like they don't care. Its not the customers fault management isnt ontop of having everything accurately priced …

They keep the supermarket very clean, don't allow anyone without a mask inside so they take covid very seriously, a great one stop shop for various of needs. Great produce that is fresh, and overall a good place to shop at. Much better quality than the old supermarket that was there.

Meh... The layout of the store makes it a bit confusing as the items don't seem to be placed in a natural manner. The meat department is always packed and has a decent selection of a variety of meats and special cuts. There is usually a butcher on duty. The produce is ok.

Gave it a 2 bcuz of the customer care at the register got in a altercation with both registers because they stated my card wasn't working i called for the supervisor he settled it for me.but overall its clean and they have everything in there fresh products unlike ctown.

I brought dog food and the bag came with a 2.00 off coupon. They told me they don't take coupons ehen I ask for there general manager they refused to gave there name. This young kid around 20 years old said he was the boss. Over price customer service was horrible.

I hate it here. They have new owners do I am guessing they are trying to fix it up. They never have anything that you need the shelves are always empty. It stinks in there like something is old and need to be replaced. It was ok when it was Compare Foods

The Manager is the nicest most empathetic guy. He’s trained his staff to be the same. Everytime I go here I’m greeted with a hello and good morning. If I needed a particular product that’s out of stock ordered, the manager always orders.

This Supermarket is like do you go in there you get what you want at a good price and the work is in the order they are very nice I go shopping there you have fresh vegetables and any type of food that you looking for you getting there

I was at this Supermarket today. I went to the Deli Counter. I stood there for a while waiting to order some Coldcuts. The guy behind the counter saw me standing there and never took my order. I left. Very rude and unprofessional.

love the fruit and veg selection. A little pricey but not worst in area. Overall great selection, usually find everything I want, I never buy meat so I can not speak for Meat section, but everything else I find well stocked

Nice upscale market. Great produce section and as far as their food section great selection in every aisle.polite and knowledgeable employees store is very clean . I recommend it 100%. Can compare to a Food Emporium .

They didn't have what I was looking for. PRIMAL KITCHEN mayo real mayonnaise Avocado oil, GOOD AND GATHER creamy cashew butter, Dave's killer bread 21 whole grains and seeds, Thomas English muffins Light multi grains.

Somewhat good selection of beverages, prices are fair, don't expect to find parking around the store. The managers tend to be rude mostly to English-only customers. Shop Rite is better but this store will do...

Not a great selection but if you just need some basics real quick (ie chips, milk eggs, juice) not bad to run in and out of.
