It was a nice museum. We have kids that are 2,4, and 6. They didn’t really enjoy reading about the Fort Worth history. They spent the majority of their time at the children’s museum. It was raining so the Dino dig was closed. The cosmo park (outside playground) was also closed due to rain. There were several ushers and people to help guide you around exhibits. There was also a place you could do birthdays. The dinosaur section was rather small but there were cool fossilized eggs, long necks, and a t-Rex (skull only). In the dinosaur section there was a exhibit where you could color your own dinosaur then it would come to life on a giant projection just as you colored it. That was “pretty neat”. Wish we could have spent more time blowing bubbles in the outside section where they have an area with big bubble wands you can create big bubbles. We were hoping to get a gift at the shop but it was so small that we passed on it. There were many bathrooms that were easily accessible. The cafe looked nice but we didn’t eat there because we just had lunch. There were some unique things there and we had a good time. Overall we spent just over 2 hours. Expect to pay $6.00 for 2 hours of parking.

I hate to rate this so low because, I want to support the local museums. However, I can't avoid it. Half the exhibits were either broken or closed. It was really disappointing to go to a place for the first time and experience this. My suggestion is not to visit until they care enough to fix their hands-on exhibits and reopen the three or so exhibits including imax. Parts were missing for most of their hands on stuff and interactive screens were broken or not working at all. We just walked through in record time and learned what we could by the fixed plaques on the walls. Plus you have to pay for parking so today I felt like I got double robbed. The highlight for my son was the one exhibit not broken, on sound waves, and for me the wonderful girl that did the voice for the movie in the planetarium. Whoever that was she deserves a raise. I should have taken pictures of all the broken stuff but that would be too many to share.

We visited from out of town and were pleasantly surprised with how accessible the museum was. We navigate several different sensory processing sensitivities in our family and this is the first place I've taken my kids to that focuses on accommodating for those differences during all of their open hours. While we are super thankful for other places that do quiet hours and sensory-friendly time frames once a week and such, it was incredibly freeing to be able to show up whenever we wanted to and know that there would be a quiet room set aside if we needed a break and that we didn't have to tote our own headphones and such all over the place. Because of the really fun and stimulating nature of the science museum, even kids who typically do fine in crowded places could probably benefit from having a place to step away.

My 5 year old had a great time and We ended up buying a year pass when leaving because the price is pretty worthwhile. You don't need a whole day here, around 2-3 hours is enough. We went a week ago and my kid is already planning his next visit. It's a great place to have fun and explore with your kids. Parents were just as entertained as their kids in the science area. We went during engineering week so there were additional displays which was amazing - a flight simulator and lego robotics interested us the most. Park in the cowgirl museum parking, it's poorly sign posted but this parking area is closer to the main entrance than the parking garage.

Even though it's not a big science museum and exhibits don't change a whole lot, I think it is a fun museum. I (and my toddler) love the children's play museum; he probably could play there all day if he could. The other exhibits are cool too. I also love that the membership gets you into the stock show for free (other than parking). UPDATE: They recently added new groceries to the play store, and my toddler was very excited about that. UPDATE: I feel that the museum is improving on changing out some exhibits. I enjoyed the "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown" and now "Taking Flight" exhibits.

This place is a great option to keep busy the kids with many indoor activities, we can be long time and discover different things. The staff is nice and the place very clean. They have many activities to do for everyone in different rooms that are frequently renovated in order to keep your interest and open mind. It’s hard to identify what is my favorite activity to do here but I can enlist some: Dinolab, Dinodig, Doodler Studio, Designer Studio, Inventor Studio, Galaxy Park, Energy Blast and Noble Planetarium.

Dinosaurs, IMAX and a Planetarium…ohh my. Grandson loves the children’s exhibit area and hands on learning features. Several improvements in the works getting ready for warmer months in the kids outdoor playground area. If you plan on returning once or twice a year then it is cheaper to just buy a membership pass. This will also include parking discounts. Clean restrooms and a well kept museum in general. Onsite restaurant with burger and fries type food. Did not try on this trip but will review on next visit.

The Fort Worth Science and Natural History Museum is an absolute gem for families with school-age children. In the past month, I've had the pleasure of taking my kids on two field trips to this fantastic museum, and both times were truly remarkable. The interactive educational exhibits were not only fun but also incredibly informative, making learning a delightful experience. The Planetarium and the Dino Dig were definite highlights, leaving a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend this museum to anyone seeking an educational and entertaining outing for their children.

To be clear, this is a children’s museum. I was expecting more adult centered exhibits, but nay nay. That said it was really awesome. There was so much to see and do. My children were captivated, if not a little overwhelmed at times. The dramatic play and science exploration areas were our favorites. I personally liked the glow/black light room. The planetarium was really cool and a fun experience. The dinosaur dig and the energy exhibits were the least entertaining. The big criticism is that the cafe is outrageously expensive. If you can, eat before you go.

  • Amber T

Perfect day at the museum for my 5 year old. Arrive early on a day in October & enjoy the museum’s first few hours of business in an off-peak month. Plenty of hands-on activities & a great outdoor Dino-dig. TBH, it was encouraging to see the museum was wrapping-up construction/modification of an outdoor lab space (it previously was WATER play) into what is now an adaptive playscape. For planning purposes, it would take 3-4 hours for a child to really explore and experience every exhibit. We stayed and played for 2 hours & left perfectly content.

A beautiful museum designed mostly for kids and families. If you are an adult without kids this is not the museum that you should choose as the exhibit is meant for youngsters. The different exhibits are well organized and have open spaces with lots of games. For those who have visited similar concept museums in other cities this could be quite different. You should finish the entire visit in about an hour, unless you have kids

Every time I visit here with my son it's like I'm revisiting again when I was a child and it brings me back happy memories. This place is so much fun and how big it is and all the different zones you could visit especially the dinosaur dig is my son's favorite zone. You definitely get more bang for your buck here especially when you're trying to teach your kids educational things. This place is for everyone!

I remember going here in elementary and junior high for field trips and thought it was fun and big so I decided to take my toddlers today but it wasn’t what I remembered, used to have way more activities and more to see, some exhibits were also closed. I think it’s a little pricey for what it is plus you also have to pay for parking $6 for 2 hours or less and $12 for 2+ hours. Wouldn’t go back in a while

Very nice museum, very informative. Went to the planetarium show, which lasted about 25 min and it was really interesting, and learned a few things i didnt know about our solar system. My son loved the dino discovery where he serched for fossils, the bubble table by the waterfall, and all other interactive games they had there. Great place to visit if in that area.

Our School-Age friends from Endless Discoveries Child Development Center in Saginaw, Texas, visited the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History today. This museum is filled with child directed, interactive play. Throughout their play today, our friends were able to learn the history of Texas Cattlemen, the growth of Fort Worth aging back over 100 years, and about the dinosaurs. We can check this off as one of our favorite places!

We love bringing the kids here. It’s really fun and educational as well. They always have STEM activities set out for the kids to do and usually seasonal ones. The only downside is you always have to pay for parking. Even members. This is a real downside. If you aren’t a member you’re paying for tickets plus like $12+ parking, which makes for a very expensive day. If you are a member you still have to pay $6 to park.

My kids and I love this place. So much to do and such a cool little set up! We could go back several times and not feel bored of it. I took my niece and my daughter here one day and they loved getting to work on so many different projects and play pretend in the super market or doctors office. It was a fun day. The food was not bad here either.

The museum is not bad. I thought it would be bigger but it wasn’t. I had no complaints about it but don’t think I would go back. It’s one of those places where you would go 1 time. It’s pricey for the size of it though. $16 and we took about 1 hour to stop and look at everything in there

The museum was set up more for children than for an adult. The IMAX theatre is not operational and the planetarium presentation of “Black Holes” was just too dark. Like the brightness was way too low to enjoy. I did enjoy the shell oil exhibit, the cattle museum, and the 3d world with presentations with earth and different planets again very juvenile like 8 years old would have been way cooler.

This is a great place to take children. There are lots of hands on learning and the facility is very clean. It can be very busy on weekends so I suggest children wear a family color shirt so they can find you easily and also setup a meeting point if they get lost.

I really enjoy the Ft Worth museum of science and history. My girls love it as well. Unlike other facilities, everything at this museum (all the interactives) were working. Great way to spend half to a full day and my kids loved it too. They did not want to leave when the museum closed although we had already been there 4.5 hours.

This is a great place to bring your young kids. My 7 year old loved the Planetarium and my son loved the Childrens Museum. They both loved the Dino Dig and the coloring your own Dinosaur area. The Omni Theater is currently closed for modernization, but from what I hear it's going to be amazing when it opens back up.

  • Ben J

Kid-focused. Ages 2, 5, and 7 all loved it. There is a small theater with moving seats that plays an 8 minute movie. The imax was closed for construction. Bubble areas, dinosaurs digging, pinwheel, air-based toys, mentos in pop bottles, dinosaur exhibits, jungle gym area, all sorts of things for kids to do.

Fun for kids under 8. It's gone downhill over the years, but it's still a good place to play for a couple of hours when it's too hot to be outside. They repainted Clifford, I guess they lost the rights. Summit's eyes haunt my dreams. Won't be renewing our membership this time around. More
