As a busy single mom, I have continued to forget to leave a review on my experience from December 2022 to July 2023 with Galbraith Family Law. After receiving around 5 emails reminding me to leave a review, "if I had a good experience", I am making the time to leave one now. I'll start by saying this review comes after I refused to sign an NDA when offered $1,000 off my $65,000 bill (with no outcome). While they still honoured the partial refund after heavily billing my account, I still think the fact they asked me to sign an NDA speaks for itself. I would not recommend Galbraith Family Law to anyone. While I do not think there was malicious intent in how I was represented, I do not feel that I was represented well. I ended up with Galbraith as my first representation due to a free consultation with my employers EFAP program. I continued to place my faith and money in Galbraith for months. Almost anyone navigating the family court system is already experiencing the tumultuous complexities of the system and the personal turmoil separation brings. Trying to gain clarity from my representation on how to best navigate this situation was met with resistance and any of the guidance I did receive came with a heavy price tag. I personally did an incredible amount of leg work, drafting my own responses and affidavits. If I hadn't done so, my bill would have been even larger. Any desire for clarity or discussion escalated in my lawyer perceiving my inquiry as personal and recommending that I hire another lawyer (initially within their firm), if I didn't have faith in her representation. In short, I believe I was heavily overcharged, underinformed and often left in the dark. I feel I was pressured into compliance without full disclosure of possible ramifications or outcomes. I feel that there was a human aspect missing in my representation. I also feel that conflict was perpetuated whenever my file got quiet. In my search for a new lawyer (which I am now having a great experience), it became clear to me that even other major law firms would not recommend Galbraith Family Law and this law firm is well known for how they handle files and billing. I was informed by multiple other firms, my file should have been charged a third of what I was charged. The responses I received when I shared my experience and bill, were met with apologies and a lack of surprise that this had been my experience with Galbraith. Heed caution and advocate for yourself. There are great lawyers out there who care about you and your children. Learn from my own pricey error and make an informed decision. I've never needed to hire a laywer before, let alone go to family court before. Lynn and her awesome group of assistants helped me out when I needed it the most. No one wanted to take on my case, because it was such a mess thanks to my narcissistic/malicious ex who initiated the court proceedings. I was so lost, but they took me in and held my hand the entire way through the darkest time of my life. They answered all my questions and asked me thorough details about my case so they could present my side the best they possibly could . In the end I got what I wanted and we didn't even need to go to trial. I was able to relocate with my daughter and have her in my primary care and safe. I must say, you get what you pay for. They are expensive, but they know what they are doing and they do it well, professionally, and quickly. Thank you so much for all the help and support!

I had a really great experience dealing with Christina. She was compassionate, knowledgeable, and extremely personable considering the situation I am in. This is exactly what I needed. She didn’t make me feel Ike I was being talked down to, unlike some previous experiences I’ve had. She gave me well thought out advice, listened to my concerns, and was genuine in her verse. Honestly isn’t that why people seek out legal consult in the first place isn’t it? I had a great experience, and I would highly recommend her and the firm for any future dealings.

I had a really great lawyer from GFL to help me through a very difficult time in my life and in my family. He carefully navigated me through the construction and the signing process of the separation agreement. My lawyer provided all the scenarios and options, and explained them to me patiently when I could not understand the first time. I feel that I received the best advice given my circumstances and if I needs go through the firm again for further family law matters, I will not hesitate to contact them promptly. Thank you for all you did!

Only putting one star because I have too; it’s really zero stars Unprofessional; not helpful; wasted of money is the short form. The lawyer dropped out of the case because I had people question him about why I have spent 7 grand and nothing was achieved. So they left me high and dry in the middle of a case that was a pretty simple (parenting time and support payments) When I sent an email to the owner of the firm I got no reply or acknowledgement. Zero stars; would not recommend at all.

Galbraith Family law handled my situation, from start to finish, with genuine interest and concern. Alex seemed more like a close friend or pastor when discussing and outlining details, next steps and always took time to ask about how I was doing. Galbraith’s many and varied connections in their field and beyond speaks to their stature and high degree of professionalism. I could not recommend them more for all your family law needs.

It was pleasant and efficient experience overall. Starting from first contact, when we were explained and guided through every step in a friendly no rush manner and up until successful solution of our matter when our lawyer, Harrison Notkin, suggested few options, one of which worked out perfectly. So, if there are unfortunate circumstances that require legal help, Galbraith Family Law is the place to go to.

The Galbraith website has lots of excellent: blogs, articles and information to read at your convenience. Once I was ready to make the first call, I was greeted by staff who are friendly, knowledgeable and had my best interests in mind. They advised me that my EAP would pay for part of my initial consultation. I am so pleased with my decision to retain Galbraith.

I've had a few meetings with Galbraith over the course of my split. They answered all my questions and gave me advice, along with telling me they would be there if I needed help. The second time they determined they weren't the best fit to help me but gave me referrals for other firms who might. I'm very pleased with Galbraith

Only make an effort to get in touch with you when you criticize them for taking all your money without doing any work, and making my situation worse, when I was already the victim of my children being withheld from me. Get a lawyer that truly cares about your kids, as a father you’re gonna need it!

I was convinced to pay for the extra half hour beyond what my benefits allowed then the lawyer was very dry and judgemental and only gave me a half hour anyway. She rushed through the appointment and clearly had no interest in helping me at all. I won’t ever recommend this firm.

Was very unimpressed with how condescending the lawyer was. People call lawyers because they don't know the answers they are looking for. She was rude and short with me I felt like I was rushed off the phone. I was very upset and wouldn't recommend.

After my 1 hour consultation with the firm and I opted not to proceed with them, they reached out to my ex who was the party I contacted them about, and they offered him counsel in our matter. Then they told me oops, it was a glitch.
