We like the OG Gallery Pastry Shop as well as Gallery Pastry Bar, so it was a no-brainer to come and try their newest location. Overall, good impression - nice location, beautiful interior with a lot of seating, friendly staff. Our order consisted of a few items - cinnamon naan tasted awesome, and so did 16th Benedict and Monsieur Tartine. Coffee and tea were good as well. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the service didn’t live up to the hype, especially given the above average price point of the restaurant. Maybe it is understaffed, maybe they are still working out processes, but it took a while to order drinks (my tea also came without sugar/lemon even though I asked), food, and we waited about 15-20 mins to pay and leave (the places wasn’t 100% full). We saw other people waiting on their checks for quite a long time, too. Other than that, we enjoyed our breakfast and hopefully the above issues can be worked out in the future.

Loved the idea of this coming to our neighborhood, but wasn’t impressed on our first visit there. We were sat a the bar facing the kitchen. Probably not the best idea to do this if you do not practice good sanitation. I watched the chef pulling salad greens out of a bin with his bare hands right after standing at the stove cooking and did not was his hands prior to doing so. Then he placed the bin of greens on a shelf just a few inches off the floor. Then another employee came by sweeping the floor with a broom. The salad mix undoubtedly got dust particles in it from the sweeping right next to it. I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict which had great flavor, however the meat was like jerky and most of it was so tough that I could not chew it. Good flavor, but not chewable. The waitress did not check back with us after receiving our food, just returned with the bill. Two of us was over $50 for a mediocre breakfast. Pricing is pretty high for the quality of food and service. We will probably give it another try just to see if it improves. Hoping it does, but not a good first impression.

I’ve visited this location a couple of times. The servers are always friendly, and I like the vibe. The greenery against the white walls gives it a nice refreshing feel. The music is also great! In terms of the food, I ordered the Croissant Fried Chicken Sammie and Fried Pressed Potatoes. They were unfortunately out of the croissant for the sandwich so it was served on a bun, and I was offered an almond croissant to go (which was amazing, by the way). I think the sandwich would have tasted better on the croissant. I think the bun did something to take away from the flavor. The pressed fried potatoes were just okay. I was expecting a little more than four potato squares for $12. We also had the Brulé trillium to split as an appetizer and it was my absolute favorite. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of it. The pear lavender lemonade was really good and refreshing. I really want to try the chicken sandwich again when it is made the correct way. Maybe next time ☺️

So I visited this location for the first time today and the hostess initially stated we will be seated next, even though we were an hour early for our reservation. The walk-in wait was only 25 minutes so we figured either way we would be seated next. After waiting awhile, my husband asked about our waiting status and the hostess yelled for everyone in the facility to hear that we were too early for our reservation. Humiliation is not the key to successful service. Unfortunately we were not seated next and we ended up placing an order to go. Des and peer saved the day!! Des was very kind and empathized with our situation. The service from the reservation hostess was not great initially and as a trainer of customer etiquette, I recommend service skills improvement. The food and desserts we took home were good but not worth the trip from Carmel. Review Update!! I would come back for the macroons and chocolate croissant!! For sure!!

Presentation of everything was pretty, but the actual food and drink was disappointing. The Japanese Soufflé Pancake was too dense for me to finish. I recommend sharing it with someone. It was more like a dense pound cake than soufflé pancake which are dense but usually a little bouncier/softer. It wasn’t gross or anything it just wasn’t pleasant to eat for me, personally. I felt like I was choking it down and wishing I had more wet fruits to help me swallow it since it’s soooo thick. The Aaha Chai latte with oat milk was like drinking black pepper oat milk.. too much milk in the latte, but then again the chai might be weak for my liking (didn’t finish that either). The service wasn’t exceptional either. Just kind of bare minimum hospitality. Guess I’ll just stick to my pear lavender latte and a croissant from now on. Kind of sad I wasted my money. Would not order these items again.

  • Mallory Keeling

Food was excellent but that was about all. Service was weird. Weird in a way that we had a reservation, but the host wanted us to sit at the bar which we said we would wait for a table. Despite being "fully booked" maybe one new table was seated while we were there and we were forced to squeeze into a 2 person table. Coffee was brought after breakfast was served to which we were told they had no sugar.. a shop full of pastries, with no sugar? They managed to find a few packs in the back. Every time we asked tor anything it was like we were being a burden. I would try another Gallery location, but I definitely will not be going back to this one. Saving grace. The girl at the pastry counter was an absolute delight!.

I’ve had the best experience at Gallery on 16th. The first time I went there, I was taking my three-year-old for a mother-son brunch. I was little worried about taking him out to a nice restaurant, but the staff at Gallery made us feel so welcome! Emily was our server, and she was so wonderful. She recommended the lemon soufflé pancake, which we both loved SO much. My son still talks about that pancake! Claire, who was so friendly and made us both laugh, made my to-go latte at the end of the breakfast (which was incredible). I live within walking distance, and I visit whenever I can. I can’t recommend this Gallery location enough. It’s my favorite breakfast spot in the city, hands down.

When it comes to the pastry game I’m gonna need some convincing that the Gallery crew isn’t the best! They kill it when it comes to the soufflés, macaron, tiramisu eat. And let’s not get me started on the ambiance, who’s the creative genius that designs these places? Anyway, I digress. Parking is on the side of the building (important to note). There’s vegan options as well (they got you covered). The staff is warm, inviting and treat you like a friend from college! I talked to the pasty and brunch chef personally and they are super cool, down to earth people who are passionate about what goes on the plate! Do yourself the biggest favor and head there, when you do, tell them your favorite @travelingfoodieguyde sent you and tag me in your pics/videos!

The Gallery on 16th was an absolute surprise. I was unaware of it until a friend invited me to lunch. The atmosphere was great for conversation, service was delightful and professional, and the food was delicious. I selected the Boursin Omelette which was well seasoned with flavor throughout. The omelette was just enough portion size to leave room for a dark chocolate delight. I had the Pillow chocolate plated dessert. I absolutely recommend the Gallery on 16th as a place to go have a great meal and great ambiance for a relaxed and comfortable outing with a friend. Thanks to the Gallery team for a great friendly experience.

The food at Gallery on 16th was worth the price! Everything tasted amazing: the Chai Latte, the 16th St Hash (can be made vegan!) and the Lemon Soufflé Pancakes (Japanese pancakes), tasted absolutely amazing and I savored every bite! We went on a Saturday at 11:30AM with a reservation. The place was busy, but we were seated immediately. I liked the decor, but it was too loud for me to hear people across from me, maybe because the tables were quite large. I would definitely like to visit again the next time I’m in Indy, but probably at a less busy time.

Update: Their social media and marketing manager responded to the review. I was told that the chef offered to create a free custom baby cake. I picked it up today. The cake was awesome and tasted so good. I have been to this place couple of times for coffee and pastries. I bought a baby cake a couple of days ago (Feb 5th) it was stale and the passion fruit curd wasn't cooked properly. It wasn't worth even a try, forget about the price and I would suggest anyone try sample cake if they have one for sampling. Overall, it wasn't a great experience.

Beautiful establishment and very kind staff. I was disappointed in my meal. When it comes to souffle, what do we think of? Light and airy. Even the popular Japanese Souffle pancakes are extremely light and fluffy. Their pancake Souffle, however, is like pound cake with lemon curd and whipped cream. Definitely a heavy dessert vs a light brunch. Not for me. My golden milk was sweet, as well. I was hoping for a more delicate meal, not dense, sweet and so rich. Souffle has a big name to live up to in the culinary world and this one missed the mark. I'll consider trying an egg dish or other in the future.

Beautiful restaurant! However, all but one (Emily ) of the service staff seemed cold and were untimely with our requests. Due to current dietary restrictions we weren’t able try any pastries from the case, but they all looked delectable and perfect. The service and food took longer than expected to come out even though there weren’t many other parties in the restaurant yet when we were there on a Sunday at 9am for brunch. My husband enjoyed his egg waffle sandwich, and the pressed potatoes were unique and delicious. We especially appreciated the fruit salad selection that came with his sandwich.

Three of us went on a Saturday at 11am. When we arrived, we did not have a reservation but there were plenty of open options at the large communal table. The hostess told us that we would probably have to wait 5minutes which was accurate. When we were seated, she offered us water. The Restauraunt was approximately 1/4 full. After waiting for approximately 20 minutes and not being seen by anyone, we decided to leave. This is not the first time we have had very poor service. It is a shame since the food is usually very good. Will unlikely go in the future secondary to the poor service.

We absolutely love Gallery restaurants and this was no exception. We went during their tasting event and were blown away by the beautiful dining room and open kitchen. The pastries were excellent which came as no surprise. The croissant cereal was a personal favorite. The service was unbeatable. Their kind, friendly and thoughtful staff makes this an all around unbeatable experience. We are really looking forward to coming here for dinner once they officially open.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere of the place is extremely welcoming and comfortable. Everyone I interacted with was kind and went above and beyond to make my experience a great one. I loved sitting at the bar and watching everyone work. Bec made my Lemon Japanese pancakes and it was DELICIOUS. She did a great job with everything she did. Rocky was very attentive and made sure I had what I needed and Raquel made me a mocktail that I really think needs to be on the menu. Great place, great food, great people = Now one of my new favorite places!

What a great place! Great selection of brunch and dinner plus of course pastries! Food was hot and fresh and delicious plus the staff was super friendly! I visited for an early lunch and it got a bit busy shortly after so come early or you’ll have to wait but it is worth waiting for. I had a huge lunch of croissants and gravy with eggs, hash browns and the jowl bacon. Also got a tart for dessert which I didn’t eat till later because I was so full! My favorite place in Indy so far!

Long awaited Gallery on 16th has opened. Bright and cheerful decor. 1st week so food is coming out slow. Staff is excited and friendly. Food is of solid quality but portions a bit small for the price. Two meals, a salad to share and a few lattes cost $80 bucks with tip. If you want to sit at a table, speak up, seems they navigate couples to the counter. Park on the street or in their lot on west side of building. Wishing them great success! 16th and New Jersey is a foodie Mecca!

This is a nice little high-end spot on 16th street. They’ve got a wide variety of fancy brunch classics and a lot of pastries (hence the name lol). Our waiter was friendly as well. As my meal, I got the Fried Chicken Croissant with bacon and eggs. And it was pretty good, the chicken the juicy and fried to perfection although it was unusually sweet which I wasn’t fond of. Despite this, Overall, this was a good experience! I might pay another visit at some point.

The food not only looked beautiful but was delicious as well! Artichoke omelet was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. When they brought our potatoes out we were analyzing them to see how they were made; the team immediately came over to make sure everything was OK and that we were happy! Their attentiveness was impressive! But my favorite part had to be the orange blossom latte. I was sad when it was gone! Thanks for a great brunch!

Feel excited about this modern and artistic restaurant coming to Indy. I like the idea of the food: not waffle chicken but croissant chicken. But to be honest, the food is not really so tasty as the pictures. I expected I should get a juicy fried chicken, instead, it was frizzled and dried. My cafe latte was cold and why it looked like someone has already taken a sip? Where was my latte art? Overall, I still gave five out of five to encourage this lovely restaurant! 1. Cafe Latte 2. Croissant Fried Chicken Sammie 3. Seasonal Fruit Brulée 4. Pastries

Everything was so amazing. My moms d I got the fork and knife roll, chicken shawarma salad Sammie, and the traditional eggs Benedict. It was all so good! The fork and knife roll is a croissant cinnamon roll basically, but this yummy cinnamon sugar crust all over. So good! Everything was excellent. Great service. So kind. Made my moms birthday special with two macarons I love macarons and these were amazing!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Gallery. We got carry out since we live a block away. They gave us almond croissants that were days old or not stored properly. They were as hard as rocks. I took a snap below of the video I took showing how stale they were. Cherrywood bacon was cold and hash browns were gummy showing they were cooked in too much oil. We’ve also visited the Gallery on Penn and it wasn’t much better but they at least served fresh croissants.

We were so disappointed we were looking forward to the waffles and they ran out at 1030am. Then we ordered French toast and it had fried onions from the burgers in it. I personally ordered the Merica and my bacon and potato were burnt…I asked for bacon that wasn’t burnt and they brought back more burnt bacon back. I will never go back. I was so disappointed.

Mary was outstanding at doing what she does, wish I got the other names as 3 people total helped me out. The macarons were superb, the toffee bread? I think was magnificent. I came specifically for the Lemon Soufflé Pancakes but was left disappointed as it was more of a cake, rather than the fluff you'd expect. Will definitely be back to try the other variety of concoctions they offer.

New favorite place. The staff was super friendly, literally everyone from the hostess to the chefs. Came here for brunch and loved it! Parking on the street was easy and love that they take reservations. What a gem of a location! A tiny, beautiful “gallery” located on E 16th St. Hard to find at first but once we got in a modern, fresh vibe with green plants and aesthetic decor brimming on the interiors. No reservations needed on weekdays

What a great addition to the Gallery group! Every location has a slightly different feel and this has that perfect combination of luxury while still being totally comfortable and casual. We sat at the counter and loved watching the chefs

The food was very greasy and was kinda messy. Good flavor and portions though. Desert was a little dry but overall tasty.
