I had never heard of Gamblers General Store and since I live in the Midwest, my only info of them was their website and my conversation on the phone. I was trying to reach out for a friend that enjoys their sports magazines. Unfortunately, my friend is in prison so it wasn't possible for him to call. He had sent them a check over a month ago but had not received his magazines. I reached out over the phone following the prompts my friend gave me. Sadly, every option I selected disconnected me. After trying all the options, I finally reached Paul. Our call immediately started off on the wrong foot and by the time we disconnected, he was refusing to work with me. I was shocked with how things transpired and proceeded to send an email to management. As I was writing the letter, all I could think about was how unfair this was for my friend. After some real soul searching, I called back and spoke to Paul saying, just because you and I can't get along, doesn't mean my friend should suffer. And, this is where I feel the Gamblers General Store really shines. He could have easily hung up on me, but he not only agreed but went above and beyond to not only allow me to place the order with him, but promised me that if and when the check ever does arrive, he would send it back to my friend. He also emailed me the receipt and promised my friend would have his magazines in three to five days. Well Paul not only kept his word, but his magazines arrived in his cell in just two days! So for the rest of that week my friend and his cell mate had a great time scouring those magazines. None of that would have been possible without Paul. I'm not a gambler, I don't even buy those scratch things at the gas station, but my friend and many of those in jail enjoy fantasy football and I think that's what these magazines help with. From now on, every year, I'll be calling in to get my friend these magazines and I hope I get to talk to Paul each time. I was very leery about giving my credit card to some company I had never heard of, especially since my identity had been stolen in the past. Thier website needs a great deal of work so if you need anything, I strongly suggest you call. If you talk to Paul, tell him Kim says HI. ☺️

Gamblers General Store has everything a gambler needs! It's a great place for tourists as well, because they sell old card decks and dice that you can buy for an affordable price and bring as a souvenir from your favorite hotel. They served breakfast here too. Tried it out, but the food was okay. Only reason I am taking off a star. Otherwise, this is a great place to buy some gambling related stuff. For those trying to learn, they have a variety of different books about almost every casino game. Many are useful and teach you different approaches and techniques on the games.

Best place for "Vegas" gifts and anything casino. I have been goming there for years (probably get a case used cards at least once a year for as long as I can remember). Apparently, hours are incorrect; was not open around 4:30pm on a Sunday. The door was unlocked, but the employee was quite rude in informing me they were closed. No pleasantries, no correct hours, just a feeling that I wasn't welcome. Unfortunately, that feeling may last and my long-term patronage could be over. Best of luck if you visit, perhaps you will catch a better day for them!

We were looking for a store where we could get some really good playing cards for cribbage and happened upon this gem in downtown Las Vegas. The area was sketchy as heck but worth the risk. They have a huge selection of playing cards, dice, betting chips and a selection of games like cribbage, chess, dominoes and more. There was also a separate room with higher end gambling chips and dice than we needed but it was fun to look.

For all your gambling accessories needs, this is your place to be. Poker chips, dices, playing cards, tables, slots machines, they have literally everything. And the good thing is that the prices are at normal rates! Also bought some souvenirs here, where the quality was way higher than any place near Strip and Fremont. Prices of these souvenirs were also 1/3rd of what you pay on those touristic places.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I last visited this store a few years ago. It was a bustling, big store filled to the brim with cool and collectable things from Vegas casinos of today and yesteryear. Sadly, they relocated across the road to a smaller and rather mundane store, reduced stock, chintzy Vegas souvenirs, and a lack of one of a kind Vegas memorabilia. Too bad!

  • Aaron Westley

I guess they don't need your business. Printed hours on the door, website, google all said 5 pm. If 4:17 is now 5 pm then I am late for work. I don't see the point of doing that, especially if people made a special trip because they heard great things about the shop. Oh well, they obviously are doing fine without their regular hours.

A must stop for playing card enthusiasts, magicians, and people looking to make their man caves more extra. They have everything gambling related including chips, tables, bingo supplies, card tables, slot machines, and a HUGE variety of awesome playing cards by a large number brands. It’s a fun place if you want specialty decks.

  • Matthew Sampson

Pretty funky shop. Certainly has the tools you need if you are learning table games/poker. Or if you are just buying equipment for home games. A fair selection of interesting merchandise. I even found a set of Kansas City Chiefs checkers which was nice since finding anything with a KC logo in Vegas is a challenge.

Great place for the home casino buff, or charity in need of pieces and parts. Store is a mixture of old and new, collectibles and topical novelty items all focused around gambling. Lost track of time here, could have easily spent more time and money. If your a card/home gambler type it's a must visit store.

  • Daniel Perez

The staff was nice and helpful and loved thwir wide selection of playing cards. I would highly recommend all my friends that love collecting playing cards should visit the store. My brother was especially excited to see their playing cards and now wont stop bothering me to take him there again

  • Samantha Divine

This store is awesome. They’ve got amazing casino-grade dice and playing cards, as well as decommissioned versions of both from casinos. I also found a pack of the absolute coolest Harry Potter cards. Jesse was incredibly helpful and I’ll definitely be visiting this store again.

  • Tyson Clayson

Visiting Vegas we wanted something other than a Denny's or IHOP. Tried Gamblers Cafe, and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh cooked food, amazing bagel sandwiches and really thick tasty pancakes. Would absolutely recommend. Sandwiches were $4-6 and pancake meal was around $9-11.

  • JNFGambler24-7

We have visited on every trip, going back to 1997. An absolute must for a visitor from the UK, or from anywhere. Used Dice, Used Blackjack Table Layouts and plethora of gambling items. Any visit to Las Vegas MUST include this place - Plus easy parking right outside.

  • Ad D

Small but delicious.Great bagel breakfasts, sandwiches and the pancakes are delicious. The only problem is that they're a bit slow. So if you're hungry, sit down and use their Wi-Fi to entertain yourself while they cook your meal. Totally worth it!

  • thecolorofdye

I always have a good time coming into this shop. It is so fun to look through all the different packs of playing cards. The store and its staff have turned me into a bit of a collector. This store has so much to offer and is really worth a visit

  • Olde Las Vegas Contemporarie XIX (Olde No. Nineteen)

They were in the process of moving from their original location, to a building that's close enough to throw a stone at.... It's across the street (kinda). I'm glad they didn't go to far, GGS is a historic fixture in this area. Fun & informative.

  • Lorilvr

We could have wandered through there for hours! So many little nuggets to look at! Lots of cheap gifts here for sure! Workers left us alone to check everything out. Uncrowded and prices were resonable considering how much was under on roof!

  • Jeff Culler

Absolutely one of a kind. If you are a tourist you should stop in just to look around, for no other reason that it's so unique: largest collection of gambling books in the world as well as casino supplies (full sized craps table, etc).

  • Mike McAbee

Will always prefer a brick & mortar bookshop over internet. This is a regular stop when I'm in Vegas to pick up new things on the games I play. I figure the time spent reading a book is working my mind whether I use the ideas or not.

  • Steve Holt

New location across from the street from the old location. The staff was very nice and a good place to buy your Vegas souvenirs. You park in front of the store and may be a little hard to spot the turn in.

  • Andrew Woods

This is a great spot for Vegas trinkets and general gambling paraphernalia. It's not really in an uber "touristy" area and they generally have a more unique collection of stuff than the average crap.

  • Jay Johnson

Great store for souveniers! Also a good store for someone interested in setting up at home poker. Staff is very nice and helpful. Parking is limited but there are a few spots specific to the store.
