Went in a couple weeks ago to ask the store associate for more information regarding the all access payment plan for the new xbox console after seeing it advertised on YouTube as well as on the Microsoft website. I live 40 mins outside the city and this is the closest location to me. After driving in I walked into the store and kindly asked the young woman at the counter for more information on the EB Games Xbox all access program. She responded what can only be described as the most inconsiderate, rude, and unhelpful manner I have experienced in any store that I can remember. Her response "No, thats not a thing. We have never had that and never will" I showed her the website on my phone stating the EB Games is the only place in Canada to offer this promotion only for her to tell me "just because its on a website doesn't mean it's a thing" Fast forward 2 weeks to today. I just recieved an email from EB Games promoting Xbox all access. That's funny, the girl behind the counter sure went out of her way to make me feel like an idiot for asking about this thing that eb games is now trying to sell me. After this experience I would rather drive another 40 mins to the EB Games in the south end of the city solely just to avoid ever spending a cent at this location and would recommend to anyone else to do the same. This location obviously has little to no knowledge of anything going on in the video game industry or even anything that's going on that has specifically to do with EB Games promotions itself. To the young woman "customer service" rep: Maybe instead of saying "We'Ve NeVeR hAd ThAT aNd NeVeR wiLL" try something along the lines of "Oh, I haven't heard of that promotion. I can't help you with that right now but I'll be sure to look into it for the next time you come in" you know....the standard response so people feel welcome in your store. Enjoy the Xbox all access program, it seems really great.

I went in with a friend about a week ago and was extremely disappointed with the customer service. There were two employees, a girl with straight shoulder length brown hair and a guy with short brown hair. After greeting us as we entered the store, the two employees went on to play video games on their own separate nintendo switches and were playing amongst themselves for the 10-15min that we were browsing the store. We then talked to the man behind the counter about some games and while we did that, the girl was facing towards the front, but still had her switch out and playing and I noticed that even when customers came in and the man was still talking to us about the video game we were asking about, the girl didn’t bother to lift her head up or greet the customers coming in, by the time we left (probably 30min in the store) the girl employee had not even tried to interact with any of the customers and just played on her switch. Seems very unprofessional to me and my friend and I didn’t feel as if our presence or any other customers presence mattered to that employee.

I preordered a game that was supposed to be released on November 8. It is November 12 and I am still without it. I keep calling and they say their shipment was late. First they said it was late but the boxes were in the back. Next was that they didn't receive them yet. Most current was they have a stockroom full of boxes and it's somewhere in there. That they will open the boxes when they have time to go through them. Hello, maybe work through your stock if you have a preorder waiting around Don't tell me you literally are leaving it in a box for chance. Every time I call, they act like I'm a nuisance, but I took the day off for this game. I usually order from Amazon and have it delivered, but I finally ordered from a brick and mortar store to get my game as soon as I woke up. Never coming here again. I remember Celeste from the EB games in Country Hills. She was much nicer when she worked at that location. Maybe GameStop is just overworking their employees.

Looking to purchase a game. Call up this game retailer. Inquire if retailer has stock of said game. No stock on hand. Any idea approximately when stock will arrive? No idea when stock will arrive. Can I order the game right now over the phone while speaking to rep? No, order needs to be completed via the website. Is there stock of the game available at retailer's warehouse which will allow me to order online? I'm told, yes stock is available. Great news, I'll jump online and order it. Jump online, navigate to title... unavailable. ...hence this one star review. It's 2020, the last thing that should be challenging is spending your money. Enjoy this picture of my lawn.

So I absolutely love this location, and whenever i have a problem or need help the manager has my back! She is the sweetest human being and whenever I see her in store shes always tries to go above and beyond for me. She deserves a RAISE and as someone who works in service i am hard to please. If you need ONE on ONE help with your gaming needs this store has got you. I always go in asking for Destiny products because its my partners favorite game and he collects it, and the staff offer me SOLUTIONS and advice for where to find merch (if they don't have any in stock) SO helpful and I appreciate it!

Went there at noon on Sunday November 29 2020. Was in the area so I thought I'd try my luck and pop in to see if they had the new Xbox or ps5. Walked in, asked if they had either of those and the girl working there responded with a very rude " ummmm no, we definitely do not" completed with a mean girls laugh. As I said thanks and walked away, a second person behind the counter mimicked me and I heard both of them laugh. I didn't say anything at the time because I knew it wouldn't go anywhere but I'm hoping this comment reaches the manager and they get a lesson on customer service.

I've come here for years and have always had good experiences. Most employees like to chat about their favorite games and take time to find me different ways to trade and save - which is the best part of shopping at GameStop/EB. Whenever I pre-order games, they call ahead to remind me when I can pick it (on the way to pick up AC Mirage right now). Unless your sole purpose is to rush in and out of the store, then I don't see why you'd have a negative experience here. Occasionally their system has problems bringing up my profile, but it always gets solved.

This is the best EB in the city hands down. The people who work here are friendly and make buying video games the joy it's supposed to be. Lewis, in particular helped me super well and made me feel like he was so happy to help me out. Not everyone in the customer service world is able to make their customers feel this welcomed! Kudos to EB Beacon Hill! Give Lewis a raise!

I have nothing but excellent things to say about this location. The staff here are some of the most helpful people I have had the pleasure to speak with and they have made sure every one of my visits to the store has been extremely positive. If you're looking for a place to purchase or trade your games, look no further as the Beacon Hill GameStop is the place for you.

the smallest game stop I've been to, shelves and items were a bit cramped together but had very good variety for such a small store. Although slightly cramped together due to the small size of the store and large variety of items it wasn't particularly difficult to find anything I was looking for or to move around. The staff were friendly, helpful and competent.

  • chloe

a certain employee was very lazy and didn’t even greet me, i was wondering around the store and we were the only ones there. he didn’t ask me what I was looking for or anything, I had to ask if they had anything and he said “we might have on action figure but I would have to go on the floor to look” isn’t that ur job? go to the market mall GameStop they r better

Great store and selection but was very unhappy with passive aggressive push of Edge card. I declined twice and was sarcastically asked 'Oh, you like throwing your money away?' by a cashier named David. Was then told my total and that I wasted $12. Was not happy by how pushy and uncomfortable he made myself and my friend feel visiting.

  • The BigDeuceAB

I go there quite a it because it's close. But every time I ever traded a game from them.... for a used one it doesn't work. Now I understand the whole used thing is a bit of a hit and miss but come on. I thought they tested these before selling them. Other than this constant annoyance.... the service is good and they are friendly.

Pre-ordered the new Zelda game, stood in line for over an hour with only about 20-30 people in line. Only 1 staff member on for game release day with no efficiency, chatting with the buyers and taking her time when people just want to get the game and go. Should have been way more organized and had more staff.

  • Sam Williams

Stay away from that branch. Horrible customer service. Very lazy staff. Very rude over the phone. Accused me of probably stealing my credit card when I offered to pay over the phone then lied to me saying that it's illegal to process a payment over the phone. I will never use their service.

  • Tiffany Autumn

Great selection, girls were fantastic. Unfortunately Ruebin? (the receipt name) was rude, argumentative, and overall just unpleasant to deal with... Consider you customers needs and adjust accordingly, it’s a human right to be treated with equality, regardless your bias’

  • Emily

Popped in just to browse some games & items and walked out with some fun things! Mike was very kind in asking us if we needed any help. He also cashed us out very quickly - he was a pleasure to talk to and made our shopping experience great! Shout out to Mike! ☺️

  • StealthSnipez

There is a new Ava girl working there and I get your new and you don’t understand but when a customer asks you questions it is your job to not make faces and stand there in silence and make the customer feel uncomfortable and stupid. It is your one and only job.

  • Bryan Panchuk

Was trying to buy a game. "Lady" behind the counter ignored me as she was on a personal call on the company phone. I waited about ten minutes before a more professional college came to the counter and assisted me. I will never go to this location again

  • Cody Davidson

Do not preorder any games if you are near this location, despite me preordering a week before release and being charged before the game came out, it won’t get here until 5 days after the game released, even though they have it stocked in store.

  • Sam Kerber

Lewis is the greatest employee ever. Cole tried to give me a tampon and i was not even a girl. All around Lewis was the best to help me. Cole also tried to sell me something i didnt want or need and interrupted me when i was talking to lewis

  • tony montana

Terrible experience here. Went in to buy some games and the employee told me the till where he was standing was closed so I had to wait in line at the other till as the lady working there was helping the other employees family member to get

  • Tara Wendover

Terrible staff, terrible management I would give 0 stars. I had a game on reserve with the day staff and then the evening staff sold it. They told me they would have the manager call me he never did. I had to call him. He said he would

  • Admin

The staff was rude and lied about the policy on trade-ins. I didn't have a case for two switch games, and they would take them. I went to another store, and they took them and let me know the staff didn't want to deal with it

  • Ben Chu

It's an EB Games. The used selection here is slim compared to other EB Games but it's convenient for people that live in the area. 3 stars because sometimes they close 30 mins before their posted store closing hours

  • Mark

GameStop should already be the last resort when looking for a game. But this place is the last of the last. On top of unreliable stocking and empty shelves, even if an item is in their system they can't find it.

  • Scott Bossert

Not always as much selection as some of the other stores in the city (mainly due to size), but the customer service here is always top notch. The manager is especially helpful with figure and Pop pre-orders.

  • nathan Lillie

Best store to pre-order games from, I have friends that have gone to other stores to get there games on early release nights and they take forever. These guys move you in quick so you can play fast.

  • Greg Williams
