The atmosphere is enchanting and my photos don't really do it justice. The owners have put a lot of loving energy into the ambiance. There are cooling fans that blow water from the posts of the bergola and there are mini fans for each table. One minute you are driving along bustling Gaston Avenue then you drive a couple of blocks to Junius and you transported to this serene oasis. There is literally a garden with plants, flowers, and herbs. The only thing I did not care for is dining with dogs. I am a pet lover but I leave my pets at home or take them to venues designed for animals like a dog park. They do their best to make some item menus from scratch. The service is excellent. I was advised it is best to make a reservation online and you can even request your preferred seat! This place is a cut above but is only open on Thursday, Fri, Sat and Sunday so make your way there as it will fill your belly and lift your spirits!

What an awesome find! We were looking for a dog friendly place for lunch, and Garden Cafe popped up. It was out of our way, but we decided to explore a new neighborhood. It was well worth the drive, and we will absolutely be back! The owner, Mr. Wootten was out working in the garden. The patio was lovely, despite the fact that it's February and nothing is blooming yet. Out pup, Liebe, really enjoyed walking around the garden. They have a chicken coop, which Liebe found very interesting. Oh, by the way, the food is great, too! You really can't go wrong here, with locally sourced food to supplement what they grow on site. One of the places from which they source is Bonton Farms. Never heard of Bonton? Google it. It's a great community outreach local garden who is really giving back to their community by providing food and mentorship in a food desert in southeast Dallas. Back to Garden Cafe...Everything is so fresh and made to order. I bet you would be hard-pressed to find anything prepackaged or canned in this joint. With fantastic music and a great, relaxed vibe, do yourself a favor and grab a friend and your pooch, make the drive and come hungry. They dont skimp on the portions.

I never really write reviews but me and my bf were excited to come here, i just moved in 5 mins away and we are trying new brunch spots. we came in and the host sat us at the table next to the door in front of the bar. she didn’t even get up to walk us to it, just pointed. now complaining about where we were sat is silly but there were plenty of tables open- just keep that in mind. we waited 15 mins for anyone to come to our table, and the host was just sitting there taking selfies not her job to take my order but girl can you let a server know pls. we finally get the bartender to come up to the table, didn’t greet us or say their name anything just asked what we wanted. my bf was pissed at this point, i ordered a coffee he didn’t want anything. the coffee was brought out fairly quick and ran by someone else. i watched as more people came in they were helped almost immediately. nobody ever came back to take our food order so we unfortunately left. it’s understandable to be short staffed but no communication was given by any employees and we honestly just felt unwanted.

Beautiful outside patio area surrounded by a lush vegetable garden. There are a couple of chickens and a child's play area. The inside dining area is cozy with comfortable booths. If you want to eat in the garden on a weekend, make reservations! The food is delicious, and the portions are good. Lots of menu items that cater to everyone, including vegetarians. The staff is funny and attentive. Our waiter Holden gave us lots of suggestions, and his witty banter kept everyone laughing. This is the perfect place to eat outside when the weather is great. If the weather is an issue, just eat inside and enjoy all the terrific home cooked food!

We loved the atmosphere at Garden Cafe. The reason for the 3 stars is because the service took extremely long to get anything, everything from ordering to getting our cutlery. My husband had ordered a burger and asked for the meat to be medium rare, but then it ended up coming well done. When a couple of our friends ordered espressos, they arrived and tasted very salty, which was strange. They also only have beer and wine, as they don’t have their liquor license just yet. We wanted to love our first experience, but we just didn’t. Sadly, we won’t come back again, since there are so many other places to try in Dallas.

I love the seasonal menus here. They have a Thanksgiving style sandwich in November that is everything you want it to be, the vegan gnocchi is so soft and creamy but not too heavy (wonderful), and their iced lattes are everything… last night we had the seasonal peach bread pudding and oh my gosh. I split it with my husband but wish I ate the whole thing myself. Petra was so kind and helpful, I loved having her as our server. The location could not be better, tucked in the historic Junius Heights neighborhood across from a little park. I love the warm lighting, I have a comfy experience here every time, and always leave happy!

On a quiet sunday morning, this lil cafe proves to be the best decision we made in under 10mins after our 7mile trail at the White Rock Lake. Located comfortably about 3miles from the beautiful white rock lake, this cafe is situated in a quaint neighborhood and has ample seating both indoors and outdoors. Love their website and menu, the classic french toast and garden omlette (with vegan sausage) was to die for! Great service and ambiance. Definitely going here again

Cool neighborhood place with indoor and outdoor seating. BYOB of champagne to chill and mix with some OJ. When you come in the line is on the right. Place your order and take your number to flag your table. Get some coffee in one of the nice mugs on the wall and kick back until they bring your food. The coffee is pretty standard diner coffee, good but not great. We sat in the garden on a cool day. They have heaters out there and it was perfect. The food was good, we enjoyed everything. *Update* As of fall 2021 the place has a beautiful bar and is full service.

This is such a lovely place. The food is fantastic. The cappuccino I had was the best I have had in the USA. Service was a little rough, but I gave them 5 stars because they were friendly and doing the best they could. They were just short staffed. If you are in a hurry, don't go here, but if you want to relax and enjoy great food, great atmosphere, and the people you are with, then go. You won't be sorry trying this restaurant!

The service was great. I was seated quickly and our server was friendly. I had the gnocchi and my friend had the roasted chicken. All delicious!!! Cute patio! There's misting fan outside too, which is nice for the hot summer nights. There's plenty of seating. There's free parking and plenty of it. I would def recommend this place to anyone. I feel like it's a little hidden gem just south of Lower Greenville tucked into a neighborhood.

I have been coming here for years, but ever since they re opened its feel is much more upscale dining. We came here with a group of 6, so well taken care of, and everyone was raving about their individual dishes. Out of the 6, 4 had not been there previously and multiple times talked about coming back asap. The food is farm/ garden to table, high quality, and reasonably priced. Defiantly a hidden gem, and so happy it is still around!!

Nice unique spot that is tucked into a local Dallas neighborhood. We stopped by to have brunch. Good service and good food. Outdoor patio is a nice setup mixed amongst the gardens. Don’t forget to stop by to see the chickens. Several gluten free choices on the menu. Brussels sprouts were great. Small parking lot next to the restaurant or street parking. A kid’s playground is across the street should the kids need an energy outlet.

My neighbors were talking about this place online. So I made reservations for brunch the next day to try it out. Glad I did. We ate brunch on the outdoor patio. I felt right at home and as if I were in a friend's backyard. For brunch I had eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and the carrot juice cocktail Everything was good but the star of the show was the delicious sausage and the perfectly seasoned skinny red potatoes. I'll plan to be back soon!

I am staying in Old East Dallas and found this place walking distance from my apartment. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood! They have a nicely decorated indoor area and bar as well as a large back patio. I’ve been for dinner now a few times and brunch once. Service is always great and the food is amazing. I’ve tried 4 different dinner options and haven’t been disappointed yet. Love checking out the garden as well.

Such a beautiful place to dine at. It has the direct farm to plate policy and the ambience is very nice. My waitress Misti did a wonderful job by explaining everything regarding the garden, and the dishes. The dishes were also served quickly and it was delicious. The rates were nominal and they have both indoor and outdoor seating!

Food delicious, chicken fried steak my son ate was pricey, but extremely large portion & tasted good. Pear with salad very good, appropriate size for price(even took some home for later). To be fair, it was a busy Saturday morning, but a bit noisy for casual conversation, and the server looked a little harried. She provided more than adequate assistance, though. Will be back!

Good reviews and good location, was close to where we were staying for our trip. The food looked great, taste was bland - no seasonings? The french toast was good though! Walk into a line, make your order and take a number, but they don't inform you that coffee/drinks, utensils and condiments are all self serve. Good amount of seating but lack of control outside, so watched several people leave due to dog issues.

I had reservations for 2 and was told we needed to wait 15 minutes to get sat. A couple came in after us and was sat right away. Since I was still waiting to be sat I asked why they were sat before us. The hostess said that was their table… They had reservations. Poor customer service in my opinion. We should have been sat first since we had reservations and arrived before them.

Food & Service outstanding ✅. However, my experience drastically changed when I realized 25 minutes after leaving restaurant that I left or lost my Credit Card. To my chagrin I found out there is absolutely no way to call the restaurant and speak to a live person . This forced me to freeze the account and wait for a new card !!!

This is one of my favorite new places I’ve discovered in Dallas. Me and my girlfriend love the food! Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and amazing quality that’s hard to find in Dallas. Food does take a bit to come out but it’s completely worth it and we don’t mind waiting for an amazing meal. You won’t be disappointed.

Garden cafe is always a great choice. Great breakfast and lunch options for whatever you're in the mood for as well as that quaint off the grid feel. Unique place to eat, there is the typical indoor eat area that's nice but the patio area is beautiful they have a huge garden with various plants and fruits and veggies. A children's playground area and you can walk around the garden. Their food is truely farm to table here. Also the patio is dog friendly.

I ABSOLUTELY love this place. It’s definitely a hidden gem. It feels like I drove out of town to a farm and ate the best pancakes ever. It was nice walking around to see all the veggies that were planted in the garden and the chickens they have. Visiting gave me so much serotonin.
