Genesis deluxe cinema one of the biggest cinema company in Nigeria is located in the heart of Lagos in a mall in Victoria island(VI)called the palms mall it a luxurious cinema with 5 regular screen and 1 VIP screen making it 6 screen in total the biggest screen takes up to 202 and all together the capacity of the the cinema is 910, it also have a lounge where you could site relax and wait for your movie, the screen are made with the latest conducive chair, there is also provision for the less privilege to watch movie in any of the screen, and it will chair assessable.mainly cinema food are served here like pop corn, hot dog, shawama .and also smooth and milk shake are also sold, in terms of soft drink only coca cola product are sold here. NB food purchased outside the cinema are not allowed to be taken inside the screen as well as non cinema food. opening hours for the cinema are by 9am.
Good place to sit and enjoy movies. The lounge is also great with friendly staff and good music. You can sit and wait for your movie to start. There are power outlets so you can charge your devices. There is also a cool VR service to experience the thrills. I think the popcorn is a little too expensive tho. The ticketing staff are also very friendly people. Even if you don't want to wait in the VIP lounge, the cinemas is surrounded by lots of outlets in the mall and a cafeteria section for all your food needs. From continental to sweets and drinks. You also have Game and Shoprite there so... You can never be bored window shopping or doing actual shopping. I'll always go back for more.
Was a good experience. A movie ticket costs 3000 naira and you get complementary popcorn( which can be sweet or salty) and a drink which I think is cool. I also ordered for shawarma. It costs 1500 for shawarma with no sausage, 2000 for one with 1 sausages and 2500 for one with 2 sausages. My only reservation with the shawarma is that the sausage was a bit too salty for me. The movie theater itself was very nicely cooled. The air conditioning was on point and the theater was clean. Audio and visual quality for thr movie I saw; the prophetess was also really good. All in all, it was a pleasant experience for me and I will be visiting again.
This was a great theater to visit (it really was) but it is no longer operational. The location is no longer listed on Genesis Cinemas website & I went upstairs inside Palms Mall & the place is no longer in use. There is signage from last year’s hit releases when I visited Nigeria In 2021 & I was very sad to see that this place is no longer operational. I hope they bring it back but workers from neighboring stores upstairs confirmed that Genesis shut down the place & it is no longer serviceable. I want to be wrong but as far as I can tell (as well as those who informed me) it is closed.
Lovely 3D surround sound from dope speakers.. but ultimately my experience there is what makes this place remarkable.. Misplaced my wallet on a Saturday late at night... contacted them on a Sunday, went there in person, from the manager * a very beautiful ❤️ lady* down to the security, their approach was fantastic, tbh the security wowed me.long story short no positive result, i had lost hope, but they assured me if I did misplace it there it would be found... And behold Monday morning, i got a call, my wallet was found, and the contents where Intact * e shock me*...
Fun hangout for family, friends and team mates. The food court also boasts of milkshake and smoothie options for the fitfam. Sweet and salty popcorn and I can bet you that the movies begin on time. I must commend the cinema managers for keeping the viewing halls clean and tidy after each screening. Phones are as usual not allowed for use as recording devices and for the most part the screen is adequate to enjoy the panaroma experience of the movie. Lovely staff as well, friendly and engaging....so that a good welcome sets you at ease to enjoy whatever movie you have paid to see.
Went there on Saturday to watch "The Photograph". As I was buying the ticket, I was told the movie is displayed on the VIP theatre. "Well, okay...hope it won't be more expensive", I thought. Paid 3000 Naira for a ticket. With the ticket, popcorn and a drink were included. "Not bad". I bought some other foods and that were served shortly after the movie had started. I guess this was what made it VIP. The picture quality and sound were great. Temperature was good, neither too cold nor too hot, just right. Didn't experience any disturbance from others in the cinema with me.
I am currently sitting in the cinema, 6:10 watching Battle on buka street. Its a shame that the Toilet water System does not function at all. I asked the workers to give me at least and they referred me to a Store, the store lady said that they have nothing.i asked more again and they said they dont. With my Family of 7 . We are eating pop corn with unwashed hands in the cinema. I can imagine the health Situation here. No family rate or discount on my fees on the expensive rates to watch film, yet no sanitary Standard. Please Genesis cinema lekki lagos upgrade!
Great cinema experience. I love the seats in the VIP hall and the leather is a nice touch. coupled with the ambience and sound it makes for a pleasurable experience and given that it is situated right in the center of the palms shopping mall it makes the most of insulating you from the ambient noise in the mall. The sound is great and I found the seats spacious and not too closely stacked together, which lends to the VIP/upscale feel. The popcorn was certainly not VIP but the service response time was good.
I went to see a movie and enjoyed it. My problem however was with the food vendors. I ordered for a chicken sandwich, it took forever to get ready, so long I had to leave 15mins into my movie to go check on it. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. The image they had of it looked so appealing but what I got was totally different. I seriously doubt there was any chicken in it, and if there was, it wasn't significant. Your better of ordering a shawarma or hotdog.
I enjoy visiting this particular mall cos it serves many of my personal indulgences when i am in mood.. I can shop for tools or bicycle seats at the Game and do my grocery picks at shoprite while i grab a cheat icecream with a friend that will seat at the food court with me while we wait for the movie upstairs.. Its a win-win for me.. not forgetting that it is an absolute delightful experience when i can see beautiful people pass by as i do all of these..
Pocket-friendly offers available. Now my most preferred cinema as the screens are all bright and clear. I’m a Marvel fan and this cinema is my preferred because Marvel movies premier here about 2 days before it does worldwide. This for me is vital. With N3,000 you’d watch premiere shows in 3D ; a good deal if you ask me. They need to work on crowd control at entrance to a show. Other than that they are pretty ok with great customer service practices
A regular cinema in the mall. Nothing extra ordinary. Nothing bad either. All reviews I saw online said free popcorn and drinks, however all I got was the drink- a coke. Nothing more. Had to buy my own pop corn. I visited on a Thursday so maybe the popcorn is free on certain days. The location in the mall was great cos I needed to do some shopping so I was able to kill two birds with a stone. All in all, it was a worthwhile experience.
Nice place inside Palms shopping mall to watch movies and hangout with friends & family. Overall cleanliness ok ( except toilets, they need frequent air freshening and clean up with Dettol to reduce the malodor). Interior of the theaters and overall ambience are fine. If it has 4D facilities in future, that would be fantastic. After movies, you can have good selection of food/snacks from the food court located in the ground floor.
Their quality has dropped. On a public holiday such as Children's day, it was just one staff left to attend to customers tickets needs. Then 2 people left to attend to the food needs so much so that my kids started their movie very late due to the slow pace at the tills. Do better, Genesis. I used to prefer your to Filmhouse but with the experience of today, I'm not returning. I'll stick with Filmhouse.
The Staff here was friendly and very helpful too. The environment was clean. There was a meet and greet ongoing with one of the Actors; Shaffy Bello and it was so organized. The Security man offered to charge my phone with his charger while I waited to het a ticket. I don't remember clearly but I think there was a place for others to charge as well. The Cinema was properly air conditioned, it was okay
The ‘original’ mall in Lagos, first of its kind.... This mall has managed to retain a lot of the buzz it had at inception. One notable difference is that you now pay to park. It used to be a parking haven back in its hey days. The primary retailers here are still the main attraction to this mall; Shoprite and Games. It’s a shoppers haven and you could spend the whole day here and not get bored.
For me there isn't much difference between this cinema when I visited although I liked the cultural feel it had with Aso oke and Danshiki designs lining the stairs to the cinema. The front desk attendant was very pleasant and patient as we mused over our choice movies and even helped in analyzing the different rates and what other 'senge menges' it came with. Pop corn was the best
Nice atmosphere.. latest movies... amazing price. What is not to like... lost one star to the fact that u can't buy just the ticket, it comes with drink n popcorn. If u r dieting, not a good move. If you are buying something and u want to save money, insist on the smaller option. They will always give u the biggest and most expensive option. U have ask for the cheaper version.
This is a lovely place, clean, good popcorn and drinks. Shawarma is available too! Cons: Yes they show 3D movies and have a 3D screen, but let me reiterate, the screen is no where compared to filmhouse IMAX. The screen is small and the chairs are too distant from the screen. Pros: Late night shows, 3D movies come with glasses, large good popcorn and big coke, all for N4,000.
It's a pretty small theatre inside a large mall. The tickets are reasonable. Each ticket gets you a popcorn and coke included. Something new I found was that the seats are not allocated like they do in India. You can sit anywhere you like. The theatre itself was sub standard as compared to some of the good theatres in India When in Nigeria, I will revisit
Experience in the movie theater was fine...the only issue I have is with their customer service. When you need information, you will be at their mercy as three of the phone numbers put up on their site is not functional as at 15 Aug 2016, one of them rings continuously without answer. Due to this, i give them 3 star. Nonetheless, movie experience is good.
Nice cinema experience, chairs are comfortable with ample leg room. The movie time displayed on their website is accurate with the showtime at the cinema, meaning you can plan by the information. Parking is not a problem, but remember to take along your movie ticket when paying for parking, that way you will only be charged a flat rate and not per hour.
Genesis Cinema Lekki is located inside Palms mall. Their service is great and they show trending and newly released movies. Their ticket is relatively affordable and they have movies showing everyday of the week. They also offer private viewing services which must have been booked in advance. Their staff are approachable, very responsive and courteous.
Genesis Cinema is always a nice place to be. But.........The entire mall (the palms) needs better security at night. Arrived there at about 9pm, Some drunk guy kept hitting on my friend. I saw him walk up to other girls to ask them out. We just kept getting attention from different men. We began to wonder if it was a red light area at night.
I'll say i had one of the coolest movies experiences ever. Really cool ambience at the genesis cinema. Saw the movie angel has fallen in their VIP screening. This particular cinema hall had reclining chairs! That for me was good enough and they were comfortable too. The sound is . So i heard every boom! Pow! Gbish! Was really cool …
It was not friendly at all, I don't see reason why popcorn and minerals price should be attached to my ticket forgetting that not everyone drink mineral and eat popcorn, am particular about this because I always patronize warri and Asaba Genesis and drinks, pizza popcorn etc are paid for differentlyand separately based on your preference.
I went to Genesis Cinemas at The Palms to watch Mamma Mia 2 today. The ambience was calming and the movie had continuity with the original movie with same cast of 10years back with the exception of Donna (Meryl Streep). I had a leisure walk round and everywhere was clean including restrooms! It was a beautiful afternoon well spent.
A nice cinema, I had fun going there. Their cinema halls are big and the seats are super comfy unlike other Genesis Deluxe cinemas that I have been to. Their array of movies was also impressive I have to say, a healthy mix of Hollywood and Nollywood. The popcorn, however, was the highlight of my evening, I loved it …
Im from America, this was my first time in Nigeria. Compared to the states, my experience was: Average at the counter, seats were average, refreshments average, price average, help average, cleanliness average, choice of movies above average. Would I return? Yes, the only theater for miles. There are no freebees here.
One of the best cinema's in Nigeria. Neat and well maintained, even though its been around for over a decade. Cudos to the management team for this. Not a lot lot of places in Nigeria can boast of a good maintenance culture. This is also my go-to cinema for the latest block buster movies. Keep up d good job.
Can there be anymore to add? Well, by comparison, it's almost as nice as iMax. Not quite the same ambience. But, bigger bang for the buck. If what you're after is the actual movie watching experience, without the bells and whistles, then Genesis is just about perfect. Competition is heating up though.
The whole experience was good from buying tickets to ordering snacks. Got free small popcorn with our tickets. The queue for snacks was was a bit long and service was slow. Main negative was that the side lights did not come on when the movie ended meaning that we has to find our way out in the dark.
Still a decent cinema. The movie experience was nice. I don't know if it's a new development, but they offer pizza, shawarma, chicken wings and a variety of meals that you can eat while watching your movie. From tickets to popcorn and drinks, the overall service was very good. I recommend
It's a movie theatre, there isn't much more to say :-) the confectionery stand is well stocked (popcorn, hotdogs, smoothies etc) and I'll definitely recommend the VIP screen / room - the chairs are more comfortable and the overall ambience is a bit nicer - though it comes at a premium price
Comfortable theater with the right temperature, i feel real comfy each time I'm there to see a movie. Plus the sharwama is to die for and there are light night shows as well. Pssssst I would give a 5 star if they bring back the free popcorn and drinks deal that comes with the movie ticket.
I hate this cinema. Time posted on website and nairabox is always different from show times. If you buy tickets online there is no guarantee that the slot is available when you are the box office to redeem the ticket. This has happened to me more than once. So it’s not a coincidence
Cool but the waiting area is not that comfortable for me most especially if you have to wait for hours for your movie turn. My opinion o. I don't know how to sit for long without relaxing my back Aside that is a nice place and they have staffs that welcomes you with a smile.
It's a nice place most a especially for families and friends and it's also gives one the opportunity to see your favourite celebrities everytime. Pop corn and drinks are all sold here and more happenings.you can also be watching all lots of movies here with affordable money
Nice place to watch movies. Great hangout location. The silent cinemas is also nice as you get to control the sound levels which wasn't bad. The picture quality was also good. Age restrictions were not completely adhered too though. Cash and cashless services are available
First Genesis Cinema branch in Lagos and this one I believe is arguably the most popular branch of the Genesis cinema brand. I particularly enjoy the sitting in the VIP hall here, with reclining chairs that are quite comfortable. Customer service can be be better though.
Genesis Deluxe Cinema is one of the top cinema chains in Nigeria with several screens in the country. The GDC in The Palms, Lekki has about 6 screens and shows at the top movies from Hollywood and Nollywood. There are various discounts on movies during the weekdays.
I always have a nice time whenever I visit this cinema, I must say they are impressive, especially on weekends when you get free popcorn and drinks for whichever movie you choose to watch, and there is always a package to fit in during the week. I like this cinema
Uhm, I'm not much of a movie person so I'll be upfront and say I'm wondering what to say. While they do have the latest movies the experience factor is missing. Maybe if they worked towards creating a actual movie experience I'll come back and edit this review.
It was my first time at Genesis Cinemas. Their popcorn is really large for the price, the shawarma is to die for and it's really cold in there. So if you're not used to the cold don't forget a jacket. It was a really great experience and I'd love to go back
First came here a few years ago, not much has changed which, I must say, is a let down because it's really beginning to feel a bit outdated in it's looks. Service is okay and that's all there is to it. The actual viewing experience is quite good as always.
Decent listings of international and Nigerian movies. Movie titles and show times for the week are updated every Friday on their website. No outside food or drink is allowed, so keep that in mind. There are often deals on ticket prices during the week.
It was okay. For some reason the sound went off during the movie. Never seen this happen before and no one came to apologise. They didn't even rewind it to where we were before the sound went off. But all in all, a great place to watch a movie
Parking convenient. Cinema viewers more contained in their comments and feedback to the film. The viewers behaviour is therefore not disruptive to other viewers. Not sure why the price of the snack and drink during the weekend is not optional
Cozy and attractive with a spacious lobby. Lack of enough seating for those waiting to see their movie before the show time. The movie tickets also seem to be on the high side compared to other cinemas I've been to. I could be wrong though.
Going to be a little hard on then because they don't seem encourage people cleaning after themselves ... But I must say, online booking was very good, easy and seamless, staff were all pleasant... Hope they improve on the waste disposal.
How will Genesis not even have enough Seats for ppl to sit while waiting for a movie? So everyone has to stand amd hang around to wait for a movie. Not like there's no space, they just refused to put enough chairs. And no tables at all.
Does what it's there for. The lines can be quite long though. I think they can have a more efficient way to move things along especially on holidays. Screens are sufficient. The rugged floor in the viewing rooms could be a trip hazard.
Wanted to see a movie, the site said 7pm, I got there and was told it was 6:30pm. Not a problem, I get the ticket, get to the Screen and was told "oh sorry that is not the movie showing now..." Summarily I had to swap for another movie
Quite ok, very busy starting from Friday evenings all through the weekend. Unfortunately the right side convenience is closed at the moment ..quite poor for such a place with large numbers ...all in all, visit to the cinema is worth it
I went there to see a movie " bling lagosian", there was power outage twice and when the movie came back on, on both occasions we had to watch some scenes again which made me tired of the whole movie and did not enjoy the whole movie
I went a couple of days when they have movie prices reduced, only for them to increase the price when I and my friends got there and they gave excuse that because the movie is new. If you cannot reduce movie prices don't bother abeg.
Had a wonderful time tonight. Watched a very super duper interesting movie (Avengers: End Game). Action packed all the way. The environment was Conducive, air conditioning and ambience of the hall was nice. A nice place to visit.
This is like Mr Nollywood's Home The Atmosphere Is Perfect And The Staffs Are Cool.... I See My Movies Here A lot . And You Can Book For Group Views Am About To Help Some People To Watch A Movie In Group To experience it better.
Movie screen was kool, ambience was perfect. Movie start time was prompt as found on the ticket. Kool for either a romantic or a family outing. Only had an initial problem with the movie volume but after a while it was ok
Very disorganised for a public holiday. Sold tickets when the hall was full. Missed like half of the movie because we couldn't get a place to sit, and the staff made it seem like a crime that we booked for tickets online.
Cinema hall was nice and big, the seat's leg rooms were not bad. However, I watched a movie in the quiet hall and the start was delayed without apologies and the headphone had a lot of scratching sounds during the movie.
This was where I had my first cinema experience. The settings are spectacular, almost perfect service. Everyone loves this place most especially youths cuz there's always that individual experience that one cannot forget
The vip screen is especially cool. A large size popcorn (really large) and a soft drink. Just a few viewers in the vip viewing section. So if you love watching movies with minimal interference from others, you'd like it
Saw a movie that was extremely hyped but didn't like the movie as it lacked moral content (my personal opinion though). However, the environment was full of life and a good place to hang out with Family and Friends.
The place in itself is cool, but if you don't enjoy traffic, don't go when new movies are being premiered or during festive seasons, otherwise, be ready to spend at least an hour or two in traffic around the place.
Your Regular cinema... Whoever controls the cooling system here needs to understand we want to see a movie not freeze to death. This happened on three occasions... Lovely screen display and sound setting.
This Cinema is no longer in palms as they have stop operation here, you can check other site as it one of the best and popular ciname with exiting features, the movie theatre are nice and well ventilated
Watched Can you keep a Secret , nice movie but was ridiculously expensive at 3,500 for vip. Just 1 couple in the hall in addition to me and my pal. Popcorn is minute compared to the Filmhouse in Lekki.
It's a great cinema with adequate equipment very great ambience. The only issue I have with them is their unreasonable policy of not allowing customers to eat what they want while waiting for movies
Genesis have good prices and interesting variants. For example on Thursdays you get a small pop corn and a drink. The staffs are friendly they could convince you to buy what you didn't intend to.
Good movie offerings, great customer service resolution process and skills displayed by the staff. Cinema rooms where really cold just the way I like it and timing options were very convenient.
It's a nice place to go with love once, and enough space for the children to play around and talk about the cold stone ice-cream it's very rich and affordable, the ice cream made my day. …
Nice cinema, would have given 5 star but I've been to better ones. Good seats, screen, I especially love the shawarma Tickets are pricey during peak periods. Overall it's a good cinema! …
Enjoyable place. The ambience is really inviting. Price is slightly on the higher side, compared to other Cinemas around here, but I guess its location plays a huge role in that regard.
Awesome place to go see a movie. State of the art viewing facilities, courteous and sweet looking staff always ready to take your orders with a smile... I'm sure gonna go back for more
It's good. My biggest concern is how they just can't get their movie timings right. Advertise a time online, get to the cinema and find its different. Happened to me at least 3 times
Neat and Cozy, Nice viewing experience,The Ticket prices are a little bit above board for a weekday. I will suggest the prices are reviewed downward to so more persons can afford it
Fantastic cinemas in The Palms Mall, Lekki. A great place to shop global brands and engage in eclectic activities. Wide parking space, several retail outlets and variety of foods.
It was clean but not well air conditioned. Also the movie volume was rather low. But I liked that they didn't have too many ads. Friendly staff, nice snacks. Good environment.
Watched Suicide squad in the VIP screen room and it was nice to recline the chair. I would have loved to put up my feet though but maybe they will add that some other time
Movie tickets included large popcorn and drink. No long lines. Clean theater. Quality service. Had a couple games for youth to play with while waiting for movies to start
Solid place to have fun. Average prices for Lagos, and be sure to check out their VIP (don't mind the name - it isn't so expensive) section for their cocktails and food.
The environment alone is beautiful...cosy and comfortable for that perfect movie you want to see and I definitely didn't forget going with a date...My sister …
Not crowded, so pretty cosy/private. They have 2 types of popcorn (sugar and salt) which is important if you are on a diet. Lots of Ads before their movies though.
Popcorn was complimentary with your tickets, yayy. Drinks too. And I enjoyed their grilled chicken sandwich as well. Movie was clear but a little too loud though
I love the fact that it's in a beautiful environment, it also offers other side attractions, it has a VIP area, a lounge etc and they have flexible viewing time
Good movies. Although service on Monday can be quite slow. There is need to hire more staff so customers are not kept waiting for long just to purchase tickets.
Enjoyed every bit of my movie experience today.... The Large Screen gave a cooler feel to the viewing and the movie "Sugar Rush" was all shades of interesting.
Sad that this place has been closed down without any announcements or awareness. Went their with my family many times, hoping they would open soon but nope.
It was ok... Movie went off for like 2 minutes towards the end. The hasn't happened before. Guess they were giving us an authentic Nigerian Experience. Lol
I’ve been here severally for weekend hangouts, movie premieres and dates. Serene and lovely atmosphere, beautiful people everywhere. I strongly recommend
Lovely experience. Saw Hobbs and Shaw. Prices aren't really spelt out so they increase the price impromptu and rip us off. Nice place though. …
Good cinema, good sounds, as a slow eater, you may finish your popcorn before the movie starts tho - too many ads. The lobby is big, not enough seats
The cinematic experience was awesome; 3D experience not as awesome as IMAX's but fair. You'd pay a N200 parking levy for your car when leaving also.
The box office and food lounge were orderly and well positioned. The staff are courteous. The chairs are comfortable and the sound is superb.
Great place. Restrooms were filthy though. I don't know if it's the responsibility of the cinema or their landlords, but I expected better.
Great experience I had here. Perfect resources for a fun day out! Popcorn and drinks available; smoothies et cetera. VIP theatre is great.
decent location to watch a movie. lots of areas for selfies. short lines. restroom was clean BUT their were long lines to use dey stalls.
