I am a student at this school and I am anonymously reporting under this email to tell you that the school isnt all sorts of bad. After reading the other reviews, I do understand the regards of bullying, the negative environment and issues relating to staff and students but I tell you and I mean this as a student at Peakhurst GRC when you attend this school every day the staff are trying their best to guide a better day. Although bullying is a problem it happens everywhere so why highlight this school with that one issue. My friends are occupied with social workers and counsellors there was most definitely no doubt support in this school. I understand the concern for Vaping, but that is totally out of the schools control. They can try their best to go through students bags and to take away their rights of privacy in the bathrooms by having teachers check in to see if they’re Vaping but kids will do what kids want to do. Staff can advise them all they want, but the truth is the outcome is up to the student whether they want to do what they want to do whether it’s right or wrong. We have educational programs at Peakhurst I believe it’s a great enthusiastic, motivating part of the day to make a kid want to come to school. Unfortunately we have a large population of students who don’t feel the need to abide by these rules and attend these programs meaning our school is effortlessly providing education That’s benefiting to the average student to the wrong People who don’t want to learn. Don’t blame the school for its bad students. I won’t lie there has been disputes between students and teachers But as a student, I learn to understand the stress that the staff has been put through. They are constantly put against each other in uncomfortable situations with rowdy students day by day could you imagine just trying to be an educational teacher to deal with talks such as why you shouldn’t be drinking at school why you can’t bash a certain person why you can’t be touching a person on top of it disputes talking about nudes bullying suicide this is not what they signed up for, and this is not what they were trained for the staff at GRC. Peakhurst are human, too, although they try their best to act professional, there are times where they may slip in a human response. Now I am not defending disputes between students and staff. But I’m generally talking about the teachers who are generally trying to do there job. I have faith for the students and my high school. I have faith that eventually maturity will change The students who display them self so negatively everyday. But please don’t blame a school for teenagers chosen actions there only so little they can do.

I as a person am absolutely appalled at how bad the learning environment at this school is. there are high cases of bullying. and not just from students. the fact that I know of cases where teachers bully students is atrocious. At this school you can either be a bully or be bullied. there's no middle ground. Some teachers are ok. but the majority are simply just there to get a pay check. Some teachers sit on their phones. The teachers are so adamant that there's only one way to learn. Fights have broken out between students and teachers are so distracted by their phones that they don't notice for 3 minutes. Fights break out so often that students don't even get excited anymore when they happen. There is a lot of graffiti on the walls. The toilets have been out of order many times. The girls bathroom looks like a warzone. There is lots of destruction of school property. This school will make a rebel of your innocent child if you send them here. Students are often not helped when they ask for it. Classes are often uncontrollable. The few teachers that actually want to teach can't control their classes. Teachers are often locked out of classrooms. This is a bad school. Tree branches are swung around at break time. it has become normalised to get hit by one daily. they're very nasty students. the teachers act so tough but if anyone at this school is tough it's the students. I feel bad for the students that go here, It may look like an innocent school from the outside of the gates. But on the inside it's like a cult. and it's kind of like hell. you have to duck in every class because stuff is thrown around. This school feels like a cult people get trapped in. if you want to send your child here reconsider.

Very bad, do not recommend. Kids are constantly vaping/smoking in the bathrooms and 90% of the school software such as laptops, computers, etc do not work. On top of this the teachers simply hand out worksheets and do not bother to explain the concepts, a majority of the time the teachers aren’t even there so substitutes have to fill in, these substitutes have no idea what they are doing and the lesson ends up being free time for the students. A lot of the teachers have bias in regards to marking tests, punishing students, etc.

You know a well-run school as soon as you walk through the gate. The students appear happy and the staff (teaching and admin.) are cheerful, well-organised and show genuine warmth. This is rare. Congrats to the school leadership team for nurturing such a great culture.
