Where do I start? I have been working with various councils over Sydney and have never come across a council like Georges River Council. It has been a year since we have lodged my building application and it is still not approved. Absolutely disgusting service. I have never seen staff as lazy and as careless as the people that work here. There is no organisation whatsoever. Everyone palms off the work to someone else and there is always an excuse as to why it has not yet been completed. Obviously they have no one there that knows how to do their work properly. I cannot explain my frustration and disappointment and hope no one has to experience the same treatment as we have received.

17 months of waiting and waiting on DA approval only to be knocked back. Council duty officers originally said the plans could be done but as time went on it seems the council kept throwing more and more blocks our way. You over come a block and then they just move the goal post once again. They provide misleading information, make decisions which are ok for some but not for others.... When you try and make contact to resolve issues no one wants to actually deal with you via phone or email or a meeting, yet they all sit at their desks playing GOD and making decisions that impact people’s lives.....

A few times I have needed to have a questioned answered by someone at Hurstville Council, a question to do with Council regulations, but unfortunately on all occasions, I have either been flogged off, of simply had no response. On the recent issue i called 4 or 5 times over a period of a month or more, being left waiting for 10 or 15 minutes on 2 occasions and just hanging up in the end, and finally getting flogged off by receptionist that person involved couldn't answer my question even though I hadn't even had the opportunity to put the question to them personally. Gave up in the end.

Worse council in Sydney no respect to the residents that live in there shire elections will get rid of this arrogant lot we live at the back of day centre they run asked for them not to use the petrol blower at 7 in the morning as it fills our units full of petrol and the noise is too much for that time in the morning there response was we own it nothing council will do but the next election we will do something disgraceful way to treat people there is no need to do that at that time of the morning incompetent council

Road systems are terrible. Congestion every day during rush hours. The council doesn't know how to spend their money in a right way, but they still think about stealing money from all Georges River residents. The most terrible management system that I've ever seen since I never received any email response from the Council because they said they didn't receive my email when I attended in person and asked about why no response for a long time.

Extreme negligence on the public toilet outside Westfield. Lock has broken down. My friend been locked inside for more than hour. No one was there to help us. Luckily we saw Westfield’s staff to ask for help. It was a midnight and even we tried to call council’s number. Luckily nothing went wrong with my friend. At least we expect to put a sign to warn people for out of order. Deserve 100 negative stars, please be responsible

Useless council.. the narrow roads at Hudson & wright street and surrounding gets soo crowded and shouldn't allow TRUCKS/LORRIES to be used as it poses safety risk being schoopl zone yet the council does nothing... no parking extension projects in westfield..when communicated no response.. incompetent to the core...would have given -100 if there was an option.. no focus on fixing things.

Hopeless place, send so many complaints and never got an answer and ignored. There are so many places with wrong parking signages but got ignored. Ignoring illegally parking problem even if is outside the police station. Took 25min to go around the block is a completely joke! If there is a choice, I don't want to give the one star and don't want to pay the council rates

Called the council twice and both times got on the phone with asympathetic staff who spoke to me in a patronising manner and yet clearly weren’t listening when I gave them my address 3 times over during the same call! Learn some phone manners GRC. You guys are some of the least professional people I’ve come across when it comes to government organisations

Absoutely bloody terrible council. Followed all procedures to recieve a work permit to do a job, however, council was too lazy to send through the plans meaning a delay in job = Further costs that were not necessary. Stupid Stupid Stupid. How hard is it to just not be lazy and just do your work? You get paid to do something, do it right. Idiots.

Georges river council fitting huge amounts of speedhumps lately. Georges river council promoting airpollution by fitting speedhumps everywhere EACH SPEEDHUMP CAUSES 5X THE AIR POLLUTION AS NOT HAVING ANY. JOSAPHINE ST NOW MAKES 25X THE POLLUTION AS BEFORE. DISGUSTING COUNCILS DETROYING THE PLANET

Gutless wonders that do no good for society and illegally issue falsified notices without evidence I parked legally in the 30 minute zone withing the defined times and had been there for 10 mins and not in the bus zone like is being claimed Also i was in the car with the engine running !!

Worst council I have ever dealt with, taking 18 months+ for a house DA assessment, and still going! My suggestion for anyone applying DA though this council, take them to Land and Environment Court Directly, or complaint to NSW Ombudsman

Well done to your parking inspectors. Giving me a $110 infringement for not parking rear to curb at St George hospital as I went to say good bye to my mother who died of cancer today. Doing gods work you guys are.... Well done. Pathetic.

I had a fine 263 $ stoping sign while I try to park my car in car park .PEnalty aplied in 15 sec. 7.48 pm at night 7/49 pm didn't left my car or double park at all they even couldnt send an evidence or photo .Such a shame

Definitely one of the worse council management team in Australia. They put council contribution money up from $600 bucks to $13000 Incase you want to do a secondary dwelling.

The girls are friendly, but the accountant is terrible, the money is not returned on time, and even mistakes are made when returning money.

They are amazing people. Extremely friendly . And total professionals Have a passion for arts and music Well done council

Gave me a fine of 257$ where i didnt even parked there Called several times but cant contact Rediculous …
