When I first moved to San Francisco back in Fall 2010, I was determined to find a congregation that felt like my home church in Laredo, TX. I googled Assemblies of God Churches and about 5 of them seemed worthy to check out. Glad Tidings was my third visit but at the time, I confused "Grace Church" which is a Korean-speaking congregation for Glad Tidings, since they both happen to be neighbors. I was discouraged because the location was perfect! And it would only take me a 10 min bus ride to get there from my college dorm which I lived in then. I gave up for a while (about a year) because all the other places that I visited just didn't feel right. But then, one evening that I went grocery shopping at the Safeway on Webster St. (Glad Tidings is located right in front) , I noticed my mistake and I decided to give Glad Tidings a second try the following Sunday. I WAS HOME. That Sunday, as soon as I walked in the doors there were the friendliest greeters in the world! I felt genuinely welcomed and as others noticed that I was visiting, they were quick to introduce themselves. Worship and praise time was amazing! Exactly what I had been longing for. That Sunday also happen to be the birthday of the Head Leader, Pastor Forest. It was great to see how members that Sunday morning just showed so much love for their leader and it made me want to be a part of their family. Glad Tidings met another of my criteria; they had small group ministries for all ages and I specifically was looking for a college one. "Nvision" hangout was announced that Sunday and I knew that I had to go. That's all it took for me to realize that this is where I wanted to be to enhance my faith and walk with Jesus. So please! Come and visit!

Often, my past experiences of church were one-dimensional. Everyone looked the same, prayed the same, worshiped the same, and there was very little expository preaching and/or teaching being presented to the congregation. Discipleship was foreign and fellowship appeared to be an extinct past time that was put to death with the last super, but then I found Glad Tidings Church. A place where religious structures are broken down to the lowest common denominator, a JESUS that SAVES. A place of diversity in people, worship and prayer. A place of refuge and hope for the broken. A place where the Holy Spirit grooms humility, passion and an active prayer life. A place where the bible is studied not just read. A place that teaches generational cycles of destruction, condemnation and conviction can be nailed and then crushed at the foot of the cross. A place where there is an authentic move of the Holy Spirit that has allowed me to see and be an active participant with a real God, that heals hearts, forgives, and transforms all willing persons for a life of lasting change. A place where the importance of finishing the race with Jesus is underlined in red. A place where God loves me just as I am, wow! A church whose foundational beliefs start with Jesus and end with Jesus. If you, as I was for so many years put on the garments of a Christian, perhaps its time for a makeover. Glad Tidings is not perfect nor is it heaven, but it is definitely a great appetizer for what heaven on earth looks like. I am happy to now say that I have found my church home.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd give this place a wopping 11. Every Sunday, the Spirit-led services are simply jaw-dropping and extravagent. I've been touched and moved every week, and it's all because of the way Pastor Forrest and his staff surrender themselves as instruments for the Lord's mighty orchestra. It's been beautiful to see the number of lives touched at this church including myself! All of this sounds amazing already, but we can't forget about how extraordinary the youth ministry is at this church! With over a hundred kids coming in every week, Pastor Isaiah and Andrea have been faithful servants of the Lord whom He has blessed with such an amazing ministry. Kids from all parts of the city, including kids from San Bruno and Pacifica, come to Underground (youth group) for creative activities and fellowship with one another. They even have their own clothing line called Underground Brand! (@UNGDxBRND) God's blowing up this church, and the city of San Francisco is going to be changed because of this church. You have to check it out for yourself! #ComeThroughAndSeeBluhd

Being new to SF, spent some time looking for a church to be a part of. When I first came here, I noticed that people were very friendly, there was a lot of diversity, and people were serious about being real with Jesus. That was several years ago and still attending. The church is continuing to grow and filled with people who want a serious relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition to two Sunday services, there are several ways to get plugged in and form great relationships with people. There are several Friday night groups where people get together to hang out and have good fun. There are also several men's only groups going on Thursdays and it's likely that one is taking place near where you live. This is a great time of meeting other men, a time to build Christ based relationships, and enjoy some great food. Bottom line is that if you're looking for a real church without the smoke and mirrors, check out Glad Tidings.

This church is amazing. The people are so friendly. Their choir is awesome. Every time I walk into this church I feel like this place this different, in a good way. The teaching/preaching is great and always feels on target to what I need to hear. It's a great place to plug in and not just sit and listen but to participate. The music/worship is not only uplifting, but brings me to another level - closer to God. They have a great cafe that serves up some of the best coffee in the city. The staff are all helpful, super friendly, and so much fun to be around. Combine all these things together and you'll find a church that is not like anything else you'll find. The people here love God and accept you as you are. I've never felt any judgement and the diversity really represents what San Francisco is like.

Sunday services at Glad Tidings church are so amazing! Their worship is intense, real and passionate! Their workers are friendly, loving and so dedicated in their work. The Senior Pastor is a wonderful man of God who has a beautiful family, all involved in different ministries of the church. What is so incredible is that you will see people from all walks of life and from different cultures, truly so diversified. I always look forward to their varied events because I love their inspiring messages. It's so uplifting and it encourages my spirit to seek God more! This church lives up to their shared purpose and that is to love God and to let His love known to others!

When i go to a church, i want to see authentic worship, I want to hear a pastor actually preach what the Bible says, i want people to show the love of Christ, i want a church that has all ethnic backgrounds.I have found what i need at Glad Tidings. I have been challenged by the teachings of the Bible and as a result, I have been transformed but the power of the Holy Spirit. This church is great and I believe there is an authentic move of God happening at Glad Tidings. I believe one should feel the presence of God in a church, He is definitely at Glad Tidings. Such a lively and diverse community to walk into. People are very welcoming and excited to help get you connected. There are a lot of opportunities to learn more about the church and become involved. They have different Friday night groups that plan activities and help build relationships which can be hard, especially if you're new to the city! There are two services Sunday morning and one on Wednesday evenings. The worship team and band are great! Definitely an encouraging and uplifting environment to be in.

I am so, so grateful to call this place my church home. It's full of authentic people on a journey to know Jesus more, experience Him more fully and love Him more deeply. There is a momentum happening which you have to see to believe - but don't just take my word for it, come see for yourself! I have been challenged, stirred, moved and inspired. I have laughed, cried and grown immensely during my time here. It's a church like no other!

Glad Tidings Church is an amazing church! I've been here my whole life and it has been a crucial part in making me the man I am today.Without GT I wouldn't have been to third world countries feeding children, I wouldn't have believed I could make it to college, and I wouldn't have made a long-lasting friends or come to know God as I do today. This church is very diverse and I feel represents the nature of SF in its diversity.

I have grown so much as a person since I began to attend this church almost three years ago. Before I became a Christian, it was very hard for me to believe that there could be caring people inside of a church. But that lie was kicked out and thrown down, outside of my mind. I am so glad to be a member at this church. There is always something positive going on and I am grateful to be a part of it.

Glad Tidings church is awesome. I was looking for a bible based church that also promoted multiculturalism. Being that I am from NY/NJ, and new to San Francisco, it was nice to feel welcomed. They also promote the arts, which is great. The people are friendly and are from all over. Very diverse.
