UPDATED REVIEW 4.25 I wanted to provide context on my initial review. We moved from Austin to Round Rock. I checked and they don't have a location near our new house. When I reached out to request a cancellation form they didn't return my call. It took another call and a very unpleasant conversation with them to get the form. While I think it's shady not to have your cancellation form on your website, and to instruct your employees to tell parents they must bring in the form in person to cancel classes, I did receive an email from the school indicating they would honor my original drop date after I posted my review. I appreciate management reaching out and attempting to resolve the situation, but I am still pretty upset about the way I was treated on the phone and by the impediments they put up when you try to cancel. If they were confident in their business model and service, they wouldn't need to make it difficult to cancel your membership. If they truly valued you as a customer, they would treat your cancellation with the same care they treat your introduction. If they really cared, they would see the value in handling your exit with grace, instead of acting like we're breaking up. I'm adding a 2nd star to this review because of the attempts made by management to resolve my issue, however my faith in this company and trust in their ability to do the right thing has been strained. I will not be using them again. ORIGINAL REVIEW Buyer beware! They make it REALLY difficult to cancel your recurring membership. You cannot cancel online. You must call for them to send you a form AND they won't accept an email submission of the form, they will only process it if you bring it to them in person. To add insult to injury, when you call they might not answer the phone. You can leave a message, but after 9 days no one bothered to return my call or respond to my email. They won't process your cancellation request for 30 days and they will drag their feet every step of the way to make it impossible to cancel your membership. When I spoke with Tessa about this over the phone she used words like "sorry" but her tone said they were anything but. AVOID using this service at all costs. I have nothing nice to say about the way they do business.

It was my kids first time here and first swim lesson. The swim instructor was great, but the lifeguard, Dayne who is also the "assistant general manager" was extremely rude and yelled very angrily at my kid. My son has never been so scared and upset by someone before. After Dayne yelled at and embarrassed my child the other instructors and lifeguards watching were laughing, not sure if it was just bad timing but didn't seem like it. I understand the need to keep kids safe but I don't think it's ever appropriate to yell at and be blatantly rude to a child the way he did when they're already nervous and in a new environment. People who don't like kids shouldn't be working here, people with no respect for children shouldn't be around them. I would never trust Dayne with my child again, you can tell he's just there for a paycheck and not because he cares at all about kids. I'm upset to have to cancel our monthly membership because of Dayne, and the fact that I've spent a lot of money just to have my child be even more anxious to swim. You ruined my kids entire experience, Thanks Dayne!

I have not seen any improvement in Luca’s skills from what he was already doing in Boise’s Goldfish. Actually, I feel like he went backwards. I feel like we have been paying a rather expensive class for a 25 min splash in a heated pool. I really want to cancel my subscription as we are not getting much in return in terms of advancement. Since day one I notice this and I mentioned at the end of the class that he was going under the water already since his 1st class in Boise, more than a year ago. He hasn't been under the water with you guys until last week. He’s not feeling pushed to do things on his own, and he’s just relaxing at the pool. It’s also been frustrating to see the class finish 5 Minutes before. Instead of a 30 Minutes class, we are getting 25 minutes! It’s non sense really. If this doesn’t change in the following class, I will definitely cancel Our subscription.

Was hoping for an Emler or Waterloo close to home, and the facilities are nice and the franchise is predictable. However, the coach we got was just a teenager who never smiled and read the lesson off cards. My kid ran her head into the wall, though no other kids had signed up for the class and she was his only student. Two other coaches had to assist at times, and while one seemed very nice, the other seemed downright rude. My kid walked out saying she was never going there again. Probably the least impressive experience we've had in years of Austin classes. I know staffing is hard right now and the place just opened, but I wish we had made the drive elsewhere because now my kid (who loves swimming) doesn't want to try another swim class.

I NEVER give out 5 star reviews. This place earns it for me. I was skeptical at first because i had to leave a card on file for free class. We tried the 1st free class for my 4 year old and he loved it . I was busy filling out paper work so I was not sure if they practiced dunking him in the water first to experience the whole," you can't breath underwater bit " but overall I felt he was safe with so many swim instructors around and lifeguard actively watching the kids. He loved it !!! They gave us a goodie bag at the end , which they didint even have too. Didint pressure for membership sign up . Much appreciated it ☺️. We will be signing up !!!

This is the best place we've been to for swim lessons! On top of it being a wonderful facility, the staff is amazing. We have 2 swimmers, and they are always going out of their way to find times for them that are as close as possible so that it's convenient (I don't ask, they just do this on their own). I also like that you don't have to re-sign up for classes every 6 weeks. Your enrollment continues until you tell them to stop it, and they move your kids up as soon as they're ready. One of my swimmers moved up to the next class for 3 consecutive weeks. So they are there to advance your kids as quickly as possible. It's simply an incredible experience.

My daughter wanted to learn how to float on her back and I did not know how to teach her - thus our sign-up to Goldfish Swim School - Northwest Hills. She learned in the first class! The facilities are beautiful, the classes are fantastic, and the customer service is both highly approachable and top-notch. I am thankful for Management's creative approach with addressing different situations as they arise. It is obvious that they want the best for the students enrolled and will go out of their way to figure out how to make that happen. Thank y'all!!

I can't praise this establishment enough. This is my son's first time taking swim lessons and I couldn't be happier that I chose this place. The GM and AM are so friendly and accommodating. All of the swim instructors are wonderful. My son is constantly encouraged and congratulated by the staff. His abilities and confidence have made huge strides in just a short amount of time. I'm so grateful for everyone who works here

We have had such a wonderful experience with Goldfish! All the staff and instructors are so kind and patient. It is a small gesture but I appreciate that they always make sure to greet you when you walk in the door. The facility is very well kept and clean. The instructors will also work with your kiddos if they are more shy or timid to make sure they ease into new lessons with them.

  • Brandon S. Morrison

I see my son growing with every interaction with the staff while attending his swim sessions! I truly appreciate the way different instructors all pour in to my son the way I hope I would if I were teaching him to swim & persevere! Thank you especially to Thomas the aquatics manager! - Dad of a future swim Olympian!

Goldfish is AMAZING! We have had nothing but positive experiences. Coach Natalie is outstanding and is super patient. Emily is the best and makes sure that everything is going smoothly and truly wants to work with families to make sure the experience is positive. I can’t recommend this swim school highly enough!

My 6 year old daughter Emily has been going here for at least 4 months, she has loved every instructor and has learned so much! It has increased her confidence and skills! From the very beginning class with Dayne to her current instructor Mason , I couldn’t be happier with your team!! Thank you for all you do.

After trying other local places for lessons, I have found a great spot here for my 2 small children. The deck manager has kindly helped my children when hesitant, easy and understanding when I need to reschedule or coordinate schedules, teachers know their craft, and the facilities are clean. Highly recommend!

  • Allison Brundidge

Great environment with lots of amenities to make swim lessons easy. Friendly, available staff to help with scheduling, and they communicate via text and email in a professional way. I also love that the instructors take time to talk to you after class with progress updates.

  • Kathryn Hutchison

We have had a wonderful experience at Goldfish! Scheduling lessons is very easy, and the facility is always clean and pleasant. Best of all, my kids have become confident swimmers in less than a year. Great program and great value.

We have not been here for swimming lessons, but we came today, January 6th, for a kids birthday party. It was a great looking facility and pool area. Nice changing rooms and pool equipment for the kids to play with.
