The wonderful cooks in the back, the lady who makes every salad that goes out, they all are great folks that made my experience eating there even better! I can't say enough good things about how I was treated at the Gondola House and how great the food is! Just wish I had a big ol' plate of leftovers that I could dig into right about now but I'll have to wait for my next trip back to Hermitage! I wish I didn't live four and half hours away! Everything I ate was delicious! Thanks for all the great food and wonderful customer service! Until next time Gondola House! Cheers!! Wayne

Our third visit to this location. Today my wife and I both ordered a pizza. She ordered a Greek pizza on a gluten free crust and I got a Lasagna pizza on a regular crust. Greek pizza looked amazing. Actually so amazing the table next to us of people on the way out stopped and asked what it was because it looked so good. As far a gluten free it was pretty good which is slightly unfair to say since most gluten free pizza is really bad. My wife gave it a 2.5 out of 5 stars. Not her most favorite but also not a 1 like most you will eat. The toppings were very good but she has her Favorite place for gluten free pizza in town and she give that place a 5 star as the best she has ever had and only place she has given 5 stars to for pizza ever. They are on White Bridge Rd. Lasagna pizza was good. The crust has a nice crunch to eat and very taste for me. Found myself wanting more of the crust then the rest of the pizza. I give it a 4.5 on crust and a 4 on the rest of the pizza. I’m a New York style pizza guy and also have my favorite pizza place in town that I will give a 5 star rating to as well. They have two locations in town. one on the west side in Charlotte and one on the east side on woodland and the only place I have given 5 stars to for pizza ever. ( and not the same place as my wife) So overall a good meal. Taste and nice wait staff and friendly environment. Just a bit pricey for a 12” pizza at $14.49 which I would say is a small pizza. I would rate this a 3.5 stars out of 5 but i can only give whole stars and overall the price was a bit high, the wait staff was nice but nothing more then average and the taste was good but nothing to write home about. Good food and I’m sure you will like it, just not 100% our best place for food.

Really good food! We usually share the antipasti plate and I get spaghetti with bolognese...I like my sauce ON my pasta as opposed to tossed WITH my pasta...& that's the way I get it...they do serve the marinara tossed with the pasta... As our plans changed, we chose Gondola House to dine for our 12th anniversary. The place was crowded and we slipped in and had to sit half booth/half table. It was kinda crowded. Server was Jared and he did a great job! Orders were correct & served quickly. (He did bring my entrée out before my wife's though) We got the antipasti platter, which seemed smaller than the last time. Isn't on the menu, but now you're in the know! Tidbits like such are a good reason to follow my reviews...spaghetti with meat sauce and my wife had Hawaiian Pizza 11/30/23 Date night with the wife. Her turn to choose. She had just eaten here the previous Saturday with her girlfriends and gotten a ham & cheese panini...and wasn't impressed. It's still our go-to for local Italian! Hint: you can order the antipasti platter, which isn't on the menu any longer, but is really good and enough for two, especially since my wife doesn't eat olives! Meats, cheeses, artichokes, banana peppers and olives. We each got spaghetti with meat sauce and she also go meatballs with her's...cleaned my plate like always! The sauce poured over the pasta, as opposed to mixed in, makes all the difference to me...

Update 12/11/2019: We used to live real close and frequented here often. Gave it a 4 to 5 star every time. But only ONE STAR tonight due to customer service. The customers ahead of us were seated immediately. We, a party of 2, were seated next within a minute of arrival at a table with chairs in line with the door. At 36 degrees, every time the door opened we were blasted with very cold wind. We asked to move right away before drinks or placing our order. So, being told one minute they would move us, waving us over, then being told the table they were clearing was for customers that were before us and we would have to wait until other customers left for an open table made us decide to go elsewhere. Had there been others in front of us, we would have gladly waited. We are very patient, even standing in line for 20 to 40 minutes if we like a place. BTW... our reviews here on Google Maps are overwhelmingly positive, so this review probably indicates more than can be said with words about the incident. We went elsewhere and enjoyed our meal.

Well, time heals all things. Eleven years ago I ate here. At that time the food was less than! In fact the meal was so bad I never came back. My wife out of the blue said let's try it again. I was thinking, wow I'm a glutten for punishment. Definitely new management, or new chef? Both the service, and the food has changed. Talk about a 180 turn Greek salad was spectacular! The baked meatballs a total knock out of the park. Their homemade sauce is outstanding. You guys have done great work at turning things around! Walked out like Scooby-Doo on a snack high! Very good A+

This is one of our favorite places to go. They have different soup choices daily, but the cream of mushroom soup is the best imho. I love that they make everything fresh, even some of their salad dressings. My adult son says the pizza is the best he's ever had. My husband and I enjoy getting appetizers with a house salad. The cheese bread is hubby's favorite. We both love the spinach and artichoke dip, which they only serve on Fridays and Saturdays. The mozzarella sticks are the best I've ever had. I can't remember a time when we were disappointed. It's always wonderful. And the wait staff is always courteous. You might even get a visit from the owner, who will tell you the history of the place if you ask.

This place is great! Me and my brother like to eat here at least once every couple weeks for pizza night. Overall, this place is great and I don’t think you can find a better dine-in restaurant of its genre in the area. Clean score = 4.6/5 (cleaning is one reason for the 5 star rating) Tables are very clean, menus feel clean, floor and booths are clean. Bathroom is well kept. Dinner Food quality = 4.2/5 Pizza and salad are both great here. This is one of the better “pies” I’ve tested in my life. Sometimes the quality has varied from visit to visit, but never poor and always better than average. Dessert Food quality = 5/5 (Dessert is one reason I am giving 5 stars) Try the tiramisu, it’s amazing! Service = 5/5 stars. We’ve always had great service here and the staff has a good attitude.

We visited for our first time on the day before Thanksgiving with a party of 8. Since many people did not want to cook, the restaurant was fairly busy but we were seated on arrival. Overall, this is a solid, neighborhood Italian restaurant. Everyone who served us and a good attitude and desire to make things right. We had a variety of sandwiches, pasta and appetizers which were all reasonably good. We would certainly return. There was an issue with one menu item. I ordered focaccia and was first given a ciabatta roll. They gladly replaced that with their cheesy bread appetizer, as it seems that they don't have true focaccia. If you are interested in focaccia, ask them first what you will be receiving.

I've eaten here a few times including tonight for my mother and granddaughter's birthday celebration. It was excellent. It has been every time I've eaten here. I had pizza, which is awesome. We ordered 3 different types.... pepperoni, cheese, and the house special. So of course i sampled them all. The fried mozzarella cheese sticks are a must. The cheese bread is also good. I didn't get a salad, but a couple of people did and they looked great, and they said they were excellent. The service was also on point. Very friendly staff. Everyone in the party was pleased. If you want to have an awesome meal and night out definitely consider Gondola House!

I really hate to have to write this review, but you, the future customer need to know this so you will know what to expect. The pizza here is fantastic. The customer service, at least for take out, might not be what you’re looking for. Ordered a pizza through their site. Given a specific time for pick up, 45 minutes after ordering. Showed up five minutes before due time to find a lukewarm sweating box sitting on a table waiting for me. Server said it had been there 10 minutes. On a table. Not a warming rack. Of course this is not acceptable. Asked for a new pizza. Was told 20 to 30 minutes cook time. Not happy but ok. 25 minutes later get a new pizza with no apology or any overture of recompense. Just not a great experience. Certainly not something to be expected from a normally reputable pizzeria.

  • Marilyn Behrens

They have too much of a casual attitude of serving you. I don't like when they hang on the half wall they have to wait on you. They need to come around that half wall and serve you at the table not hang off the half wall. It's rude. There is a waitress that never ties her long hair back. Her very long hair flies all over people's food. She needs to be turned in to the health department. She's out having a baby now. One time her hair was hanging in the sauce. Sickening. Food is not all that great tasting. Especially for the price they charge. This place is over rated by some people. Too much salt too.

For 5 years I have lived less than 2 blocks from this place yet never went. One thing I always noticed was even though it's a relatively small place and sits back away from the road, the parking lot is always full to capacity in the afternoons and evenings. Finally I went and had the Spaghetti with Meatballs. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the meatballs...ohh the meatballs! Very large, melt in your mouth, seasoned perfectly, delicious! Staff was on point and very professional and helpful. The cooks were super busy but every one of them were smiling and having a good time doing what they do. I understand they also own Greko, an authentic Greek Street Food restaurant downtown.

This place is always a hit. We live less than a mile away and come here often. The food is always great no matter if you dine in or have it delivered. The appetizers are always delicious. Mozzarella sticks are a must, as is the fried ravioli. Really all of them. Took pictures below, but only remembered to snap the salad, before digging in. Pizzas are phenomenal and pasta too. Have only tried the burgers a couple of times, but they were also great. Not expensive and a really warm atmosphere. Everyone here is nice and kind. 11/10

Atmosphere was very friendly, nice large tables for big families. Food was a little off though. Crust was amazing, obviously homemade but the topping were sloppily put on and not cooked properly. Also there is a thing as too much cheese.

Sadly not many options for entrees other than spaghetti with marinara or their veggie specialty pizza. They do however have a make your own pizza but its $12 for a small base priced cheese pizza and every topping you add on is between $2 to 4 dollars extra.

Gondola house is great because it's super clean and the service is impeccable. I attribute this to the owner's military background. I saw that part of the table turnover includes the servers taking up the seat cushions on the booths in their stations and cleaning underneath. The pizza is some of the best you could find in the Nashville area and the menu is the perfect size/not too much to choose from but it has something for everyone. I highly recommend the chicken parm. Don't leave without trying the homemade tiramisu.

The place is really awesome. I have tried the veggie pizza and the chicken pizza and they both were really great. Love the crust too. The ambience is beautiful and the staff is friendly. They have a wide variety of drinks selection and a nice environment around the bar. The place gets super busy over the weekends especially for dinner times. Wait times for seating may go upto an hour so good to plan accordingly. I got to try multiple pizzas here and they were really good. It's a great place to order for a delivery or pickup too. Sometimes it gets tricky to find the parking in the lot.

  • Princess Warrior

I have read great reviews and heard the food was really good. It's hard for me to find great Italian food since I'm from the north. Well, I got the spaghetti and meatballs to go. You're greeted as soon as you come in. Very pleasant workers, asked if I wanted a drink while I waited. Didn't take long to receive my good. The meatballs are real, not some bland balls of meat. They were huge and so good. Marinara sauce was tasty, had right amounts of spice to tickle your taste buds. Would definitely recommend this place. No wonder they had great business. Wish I remembered this sooner.

  • terrell taylor

Converted - I visited here a few times before and the food was just ok (highlighted by the fact I can't remember what I ordered). Recently, I had the Gondola house salad topped with crispy pancetta which adds a subtle salty bite. Hmm hmm good! And the 3-meat "can't miss" flatbread which was accompanied by fresh, super bright and acidic marinara sauce. Two thumbs up on the crust. Super tasty! The waitresses were friendly and attentive and the service was fast. Pls like if this was helpful.

By far the best gluten free pizza around. Amazing ingredients! We met one of the owners and she was so nice! She obviously takes a lot of pride in quality. Beautiful atmosphere. The two young servers that we had said they love their jobs. And you could tell by the way the servers treated the customers that they are happy there. My only complaint is they seem very stingy with the portion of wine. Comes in a very small glass and they only fill it up about a quarter of the way full.

  • Valerie Hoagland

We regularly dine at Gondola House Pizzeria because of the quality and freshness of their food, and also, the service is decent. Sometimes it's not as clean as we would like, but that's always related to how busy they have been. Occasionally the iced tea is like brown water, but that's not the norm, and that's our largest complaint, so, pretty good! We haven't eaten any items from their menu that we didn't like. It would be nice if someday they would serve gluten free pasta ;-)

  • Sonnyz93

We're from CT, so we're kind of spoiled when it comes to pizza - Gondola House Pizza is the best around . The crust is nice and chewy - not too thin, not too thick - just right. The sauce isn't overly seasoned, which I like. Our favorites are the White and the Davola (spicy!) - so yummy Salads are good too.

Really great Italian cuisine. The house special pizza and cheesy bread are great and the tiramisu is to die for. The service was pretty sure but they compensated by giving us our cheesy bread and dessert totally free, so we were still happy campers. Kid-friendly dining with high chairs and boosters a-plenty, but bring a toy or something because they DO NOT have crayons or anything for the children.

Salad was on the boring side my boyfriend said & he loves food! $16.-$17 too much w/o any meat, etc The pizza was sadly far from the best. We ordered a white pizza with black olives, onions & asked for garlic to be spread around the crust…. $27 +3, +3, +3 = $36 for a pizza that wasn’t that tasty! Domino’s pizza has better tasting white pizza for less than half of $36

This place has been around for 12 years. My friend suggested we go. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the pizza was. Their desserts are homemade and their tiramisu was simply delicious. The gentleman who waited on us was quite friendly and helpful and I hope we get to go back again. The Greek pizza that I had was quite tasty and something I have never encountered before.

I had the antipasto and my son had their pizza. It was one of the best antipasto I've had and I tried my son's pizza (which I'm not a huge pizza fan). I swear it was the best I have ever had! The crust had a great crunch to it, but still soft. I never eat the end part of the crust but, with this.. I ate the entire piece. I will definitely be back and most definitely recommend anyone to go there.

Our experience here was surprisingly delightful. We rarely go out anymore expecting anything but average from a restaurant. This was not the case with Gondola House. The tiramisu is the real thing! They made us an awesome antipasto platter and it's an Italian place, but the burgers were unbelievably awesome! The price is a steal for what you get and our servers were on point with everything.

We were in town to tour the Hermitage and stumbled upon this place. Friendly service and food that exceeded our every expectation! I must say we had the best fried mozzarella we’ve ever eaten. Hand-made in store, as is their marinara sauce and salad dressings. They buttermilk ranch is rich, smooth, and creamy. Excellent fries and the lasagna pizza is unique and delicious.

Food was awesome! I really appreciate that they offer a gluten-free crust for pizza (although I didn't try it, I'll be sure to next time). Small wine list, but good pricing and good selection. Service could have been a little better, however we came at a really busy time, so I'm sure our server was just overwhelmed and in the weeds a little bit. Can't wait to go back!

This place has stood the test of time. It has been here in Hermitage since the early 80's and was very good food then. I was discussing it with my doctor friend and couldn't remember the name of this place, so I decided to pay a visit. And glad that I did. The food is very good and service is good to. I'll be coming back soon and bring some friends.

Awesome Pizza!! I can say that as a New Yorker =) Honestly though, I have been dining here for years and the food is always great. They have a small menu with rotating specials, appetizers, and desserts and that works. It's always busy during peak times so plan to wait, but it's worth it

Got the Mozzarella Cheese Sticks and they were good. Asked if the pizza was thin crust and was told it was between thin crust and hand tossed. This came out as thin crust. Outside of that the pizza was good. The waitress was cute and very attentive to our table.

All your Italian favorites and more. Picture shows the delicious Spinach Lasagna and what's left of the super good Mozzarella Cheese Sticks (hand cut and breaded) don't worry none were left on the table. The only problem is I never have room for the Tiramisu! Oh well, maybe next time.

Just not good. Spaghetti had a weird after taste, fettuccine Alfredo was bland and the seafood platter was horrible! Not even sure what to say about it. My husbands salmon was edible. All to the sum of $80.00 plus. Had to go to Chick-fil-A and get my daughters something they could eat afterwards. Such a letdown. Will never ever go back.

  • John P

I'm not sure how this place has such good reviews. The food is incredibly overpriced and not that good. I had spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were dry. The sauce did not taste fresh. The bread was pathetic (a small piece of bread that seemed to be from the freezer aisle at Walmart). Save your money and go somewhere else.

We haven't been in a few years since we moved out of this area of Nashville. We were glad to see they still had a crowd and are still putting out high quality pizza like they did when they first opened! Locally owned! Go try it out! Great salads also!

The pictures may not look like much, but the pizza was really really good. Considerably better than the majority of other local pizzerias. Great texture, flavor, and cookd just right. The mozzarella cheese sticks were amazing! They were about the size of a bratwurst and full of flavor. I will definitely come back here again!

We try the House special and Bianco Pizzas both were delicious! The Shrimp Alfredo was good too but I do not recommend the wings! (Horrible) overall it was a good experience beside the wings. Can’t wait to go back and try different menu items.

I have been coming to Gondola for years! It’s no wonder this restaurant has become a landmark in Hermitage. Kathy knows every patron by name. They provide amazing quality food for a great price, and take care of their staff as well.

So pizza tastes pretty average but skimpy on sauce..I mean like almost none and toppings were very skimp also. Definitely not worth the price we paid! We ordered tiramisu for dessert and that was actually alot better than the pizza! Would not revisit.

Awesome pizza, and possibly even better service. Their crust is no joke! Just a little crunch and great flavor. I may go back sometime for their mozzarella sticks (they looked amazing!). It can be a little pricey, but I think it's definitely worth trying out. Side note: the restaurant is a Pokemon stop :p

Always love Gondola. The food and service are excellent. I get the house salad with their ranch and vinaigrette. I love the pizza with extra cheese. We had cheese sticks-yummy! And fried ravioli-so good! Didn’t save room for dessert tonight but I’ve had many here and they are all delish!

This Italian restaurant was just okay for me. I am not a lover of Italian food and I was there because a friend wanted to eat there. I most likely would not go back. However I will say the place was clean, the staff was friendly, and everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food.

The prices are great. The flavors are great. The service is great. I don’t know what else to say other than this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Tennessee and I give them an A+. Congratulations. Be looking for my video review on the jack on the go show on YouTube.

We were on a mini vacation and picked this place strictly on reviews. It did not disappoint! Excellent homemade pizza and lasagna! They serve wine and beer. Our waitress, Jessica, was very friendly and knowledgeable. There were 8 of us and everyone enjoyed their food!

Our go to for Italian in Hermitage!! Love, love, love the chicken parmesan. Hidden item but I have them put it on a sandwich. It's great! Good mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and can't ever go wrong with the pizza here. Really good food and great service too!

  • Samuel Rouse

Could've had better service a lot of standing around for being a packed house. However, the food more than made up for it very pleasant surprise for the price point. Definitely our new Italian go to in the area and I have an employee discount at Olive Garden!

Food is amazing!! Service is awful! Waited 10 minutes for waitress for drinks. Then they bring over someone else stater platter. They bring correct starter platter but no plates to actually eat it. This was also at 4:30 in the afternoon so not busy at all.

We tried this place for the first time today, and were absolutely blown away. The quality of the food was fantastic. Everything was incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. Jessica was a friendly and speedy waitress, too. I will absolutely be returning here.

Good pizza. My salad was more dressing than salad, though. Why wouldn’t you put the dressing for a to-go salad on the side? It seems as though most restaurants do that automatically. I’ll be sure to ask going forward.
