I wish I could give 0 star. I and my husband go there every night for a few hours for fun. There is a guy who comes every night as well, and he is always drunk. We are at the same table with him, and ofc he was drunk as every day, and he kept hitting the table, teasing the dealer and swore at my partner because he didn't like that my husband got a good card but he didn't. I called a security member, and he warned a guy but a "big boss" lady who speaks the same language as him told a security guy that he is fine. I told her that he isn't fine and the whole table is uncomfortable because of his behavior, and my partner has the right to get as many cards as he wants because it's his money so swear at him is inappropriate. The lady yelled at me, saying, "I'm watching him, so he is fine, and I'm talking to a security, so it's none of your business." Yes, you were talking to security to protect a guy with his unacceptable behavior because you guys speck the same language, and I had to correct the information you gave to the security. If she was watching him, why didn't she stop him when he kept hitting the table, teasing a dealer, and swore at my husband? Too bad you guys hired her.

My partner had a very unfortunate experience at this casino a few weeks ago. He was out celebrating graduation with his classmates and friends and after a drinks beers they decided to go to Grand Villa. He is of Asian decent and gets a prominent asian flush after just 1-2 beers and had had a few at the bar prior. He was singled out of his large group of friends, all who had been indulging as well, and the bouncer singled him out of his group and refused to let him in. When he asked why as he had had the same amount to drink as other people in the group the bouncer reported that is was because of his red face and continued to state that letting people in was "at his discrimination". This greatly upset me and my boyfriend for a few reasons 1- the correct word would be at the bouncers "discretion" and 2 - this was very clearly "discrimination" based on race of one person in a primarily white/caucasian presenting group. This unfortunately ruined a night that should have been a fun celebration. We will no longer be bringing our business to this establishment and will encourage our friends and family to do the same.

Grand villa opened again today after being closed for nearly 2 years. Wish I did not waste my 30 minutes by stopping by. I went around 7pm and directly to the customer service desk to get a new loyalty card. I was told their loyalty program system was not up and running on the machines or their computers. The staff were pleasant but said not much was working right now and hoped it would be later in the week. The Casino seemed barron. There were huge areas of emptiness like they sold off most of their equipment and hastily put whatever machines and tables they could find in place just to say they were open, like their gambling permit would expire if they did not. I assume they will coast like this until the shelter near by closes and they will then do a real "reopening" at that time. As I walked from the parking lot to the entrance I passed several used needles and had to snap a pic of the largest single pile. Don't waste your time or money at this place. It is sad inside and out. Should have just stayed closed.

I was so excited to visit Grand Villa in Edmonton as I went to the one in Burnaby BC all the time when I lived there.... omg worst casino I ever stepped into. The hostess was not caring or helpful... the PARKING is awful esp for the elderly and ppl with mobility issues... so many sketchy people outside... very possible to get mugged. Why won't you let customers park in the underground?? Only for VIP? That's ridiculous!!!!! The layout of the games was terrible.. it was empty and not lively at all. I was so shocked as to how different it was to the more vibrant grand villa in Burnaby. I can't believe how horrible this place was. I was thinking "oh its downtown, must be nice" boy was I ever wrong. Definitely won't be coming back and I don't see this casino lasting long. I left this place so quick and had fun at the other casinos in Edmonton

DON’T BOTHER After you park in the back adjacent to the multiple homeless encampments, you have to walk towards the 104 Street entrance, but do your best to step over the garbage, band-aids, and fuzzy textiles littered all over the ground. Then, once you get inside, be ignored by the staff at the main level who are too busy talking to each other to help to greet you, make your way up the escalator and TADA!! There’s like 12 machines to play and all the staff look bored as heck. They’ve removed all the machines on the south side of the building, but the bundles of wires are still sticking up through the floor… The place is such a disappointment. By far, the worst casino in the city.

If I had to guess at how many casinos I've been to in my life I'd put a number to it around 25. Of those ~25 casinos I have always had SOME luck with their slot machines .. not at Grand Villa. Grand Villa seems to be set up to take money money and never pay out. Have visited roughly 10 times or more and never once have their slots paid out.. never bonus rounds, never good spins. I might as well just walk up to the desk and give them the money I was going to play with and not even bother trying "luck".... Again in my opinion there is no luck only guaranteed loss. I'm sorry its a nice looking casino, but the track record stands - and that doesn't bring repeat business.

Went to this casino with my boyfriend after the Oilers/Bluejackets game. I didn't put any quarters in the slot machine, so the trip is mostly self-explanatory. Pawel Wdowczyk thinks of himself as a "beer connoisseur." After all, he is a 23-year-old tour guide and flight attendant in Poland. His duties mean that he spends most of his day outside, so he decided to buy an iPhone 6 Plus and make the most of his free time at work. On a two-hour shift, the iPhone is turned off. As soon as he gets to work, he turns on the phone to charge it and begins hunting for Pokemon.

It was pretty busy when we were there, and we were kinda forgotten about. It is a nice place and a good atmosphere. Other tables had their drinks and orders in before we were acknowledged. We spoke to one waitress who told us our waitress would be right with us, which wasn'tquite the case. The food came out hot and was quite tasty. I ordered the steak sandwich, which was closed face. I was a little surprised by that, but it was really, really good.

This casino has been our new go to for the past couple of months. The free underground parking is great. It's a tad inconvenient for 2 minutes to register with guest services...but it's FREE!!!. They are slowly getting more and more new machines and retiring the old ones that they had a lot of. Staff are friendly, the bar always has ice water and coffee available. The tables are great and a lot of fun. Check it out, you will love it!!!

  • Rachel Castelletti

They have a lot of specials for food and drinks. I intend to come back and check out some more. Cheap drinks and rather tasty food! Would have liked if their menu was clear about what food was gluten free, but the server was really helpful in that area. They did leave feta cheese off my salad saying it had gluten which is odd.. but I'll take their word for it that it must have been contaminated some how.

Worst night ever. Came to celebrate. Was getting hungry. About to go to Match, then there was a cockroach crawling across my machine in the casino. We killed it. Got an attendant, who said they’ve been spraying. Tried to talk to customer service who did absolutely nothing, and said nothing to curb our worries about the attached restaurant Match. Were not helpful at all. We left.

Compared to my previous visit many years ago, it's clear that the casino is on the decline. They have removed a significant number of slot machines, and there's an overall somber atmosphere on the gaming floor. Unfortunately, the payouts on the slots are absolutely terrible, so don't be surprised if you end up losing money.

I used to go there often pre-COVID. Was always fun. Now, the games are greatly reduced and the fun ones I played are now gone. The poor table-game staff are just standing around. Customers falling asleep at the games. Very boring casino to go to. I’ll bump my rating up to at least 4 if they get the better games back.

One of the smaller casinos I’ve ever visited. Probably one of the least busy as well. Restaurant inside serves really good food. Went in on a Sunday, didn’t open until noon. Arrived around 1:30 and tables still weren’t open. Great location if your in the Ice District and/or attending an event at the Rogers Center.

Security was not friendly to me. They escorted me out because my I.D. was expired and my temp. I.D. wasn't good enough. I wasn't bothering anybody and wasn't even gambling. I was just there with a colleague. It felt like they singled me out and made an example of me. I don't recommend going there.

  • Dane Frizzell

The removal of its Craps table and increased table minimums were a main issue. It was wonderful when this establishment reopened after covid. However, the overall environment and energy is lacking. Match eatery has increased its prices while lowering quality and taking away favorite menu items.

  • Bojan Cvijetic

Kyla is hands down the best bartender I've ever had , most patient most respectful service there could have been , recommended me a game I won extra, I could not be happier , if you want 10/10 service please request Kyla, never have I been treated with more respect and honesty !

  • Jazz Goldsack

We went here Monday evening. The bartender was awesome!!! She was awesome service all night she gets 10 stars. The slots are really really tight. Not a single payout all night. The tables were fun. The roulette table was the most fun. The dealers are friendly.

  • Gordon Matthews

Sorry but not a good experience and liked other casinos in Edmonton better. Lots of sketchy people around entrance of casino. The lady at guest services desk didn't know how to make a casino card for a new member and she was kind of rude.

  • Greg Johnston

Nice casino - comfortable, well-appointed. Very quiet during the day (it was a Tuesday), so very few live dealers. More active in the evening. Standard games, with an electronic roulette table when no dealers are present.

  • Nicole Skeoch

its a really small casino with very little excitement. I've never won anything at this casino the atmosphere is even dull. I do not recommend bringing your out of town family for a family fun night to this one.

  • Luke Rinderknecht

Currently waiting 50 minutes for a hand pay (and counting). Missed the New Year's countdown with our friends because no one has come to our machine. Happy to win some money but this is ridiculous...

  • derek hamilton

Decent casino. Has what you need but they could put some money back into the place to make it looks cleaner. Some entertainment would def help as well. Good for gambling thats about it

  • Barb Busse

I was volunteering. There was an event at Rogers place so a little busy at the Casino for a brief period of time. Had the spaghetti and meatballs to eat. It was very good.

  • LA W

We popped into the casino while waiting for the hockey game to start. It's small but has what you need. We played the slots for a bit, some won, some did not. Nice casino.

  • Carol

Looks like they downsized the play area since re-opening after covid. Clean and fun. The Match Box restaurant has good food. The whiskey sour was not as good as Bothy

  • Marvin Estupe

It's alright if your there for a quick gamble but don't spend your time in there for long since some of the slots machines weren't even working and malfunctioning..

  • Derek Duchene

I can only imagine the money this place rakes in any time there's an event at Roger's Place. Packed shoulder to shoulder. Servers are great amd the bar is top notch

  • James Saskwatcher

Such a fantastic place to hang out before or after an Oilers game or event at Rogers Place. I was so happy there even though I was losing my money. …

  • Habib Motan

Went there after the hockey game with friends and family. Had a wonderful time, didn't fare very well at the casino but again, had fun. Staff very friendly.

  • Tabish Waseem

Very vibrant Casino built with Vegas style look. Everyone from Atlas to Match and casino floor staff and management is costumer focused and motivated.

  • Donia Reid

The staff is wonderful, respectful, friendly and food was amazing I would recommend good there for enjoyment and atmosphere and food just everything

  • James Coburn

Fun atmosphere. Noise level is low surprisingly. Has the charity cashier which is awesome for non-profits. Comfort food menu with decent prices.

  • Dan Cielos

Really great service, many games to play/gamble! Just a reminder, it's fun to gamble and all but don't get addicted!

  • Vance M

Perfect place to get supper before going to an event at Rogers place. Food is top notch at the restaurant there.

  • Steene Wilson

Busy place that caters well to patrons following a game. Not the best ambiance but it serves its purpose.
