If there was one masjid that I had to choose to introduce a revert brother/sister to, then it will be Green Lane Masjid as it is head and shoulders above any masjid I have been to in terms of community engagement and aqeedah. I always felt there's a special atmosphere whenever I enter this masjid. The imams are a huge asset to to the community and they are upon the Quran & Authentic Sunnah so brothers and sisters can rest assured they are following authentic teachings. The recitation and tajweed of the imams are superb and helps with khushoo/salah engagement. Also I love how no one leaves gaps in the congregation. The masjid offers various programmes for adults and the youth (Madrasah Salafiyah). I was also impressed with the fun sleepover they held at the masjid for the kids where they can do fun activities and also learn about the deen at the same time. For those brothers & sisters who drive, it would be best to park at the nearby Morrisons large car park as the street can get congested. The car park has about 3 hour max stay during business hours but there's plenty of space. The toilet and wudhu facilities are brilliant too although sometimes certain members of the community unfortunately do not leave the toilets in a clean state (but they have regular cleaners to keep it nice from what I know). I wish masajids around the UK try to follow Green Lane's operating model as it will benefit the future generations of the Ummah (insha'Allah). May Allah (SWT) reward the management and community for their efforts.

They put members of them family and them friends who are not eligible for the position at all and even after those members make a lot of troubles in the masjid even by making good people of our community stopping coming to the masjid because of them behaviour they don't care even a bit as long as they keep them positions secured. With out mentioning them salaries ... pathetically to convenience. Go and find the same job and apply for it let see if they will give you the same salary and conditions that you're putting to yourself from the wealth of the Muslims who are giving for Allah and to the ones who really need it, no to you as you wish and how much you wish. Starting to look like a family business more then the house of Allah. What a shame and how you guys are going to explain this to Allah the day of the judgment. By replaying speak with the management of GLM? You better judge yourselves before the death come to catch you on this situation.

Visited this Masjid with a close friend to pay my respects at a funeral. Having never really been in a Masjid before I wanted to be respectful and sincere but at the same time I was conscious that I would likely need to be guided in the way of things. And people were ready and happy to do just that, from where to wash, to where go to pay my respects. I felt comfortable knowing that I was looked after. The people there were so warm and friendly and welcoming, not just to me myself, but it was wonderful to be a part of the love which was given to the bereaved family. From my perspective this was a place filled with compassion. As for the Masjid itself, the washing facilities were clean and tidy, the prayer space peaceful. In the spirit of being objective, the only (minor) negative was that the parking area was comparatively small compared to the Masjid itself. But, honestly, this is nothing and is exactly the same at my own place of worship.

First time i prayed here. We go to masjid to get closer to Allah and to be able to sit and reflect. Also, it's important we can hear the Imam so we pray accordingly or hear all announcements. I could not even hear myself think, let alone hear the imaam who was leading the prayer. It's not just with this masjid, but i feel there needs to be some noise restrictions put in place for adults and also children. When it's time to pray, there should be no children 5 and above making so much noise that we can't hear the Imam. It is the parents' responsibility to make sure this does not happen. However, i have witnessed some parents just ignorant to what their children are doing. Its a shame because a masjid is meant to be a place of prayer, reflection, making duas.....you just can not do that with grown children making so much noise as if they are at home. This is just my personal opinion, and i feel all masjids should look into this.

I would just like to say a huge jazakAllah khair to all the fantastic work done by the team at the masjid. Alhumdillah everyone displays such good aqlaq mashAllah and makes everyone feel so welcome and comfortable. The tilawaat by the sheiks is so beautiful it almost feels like it is entering your soul. As I was standing listening to the beautiful recitation in taraweeh I thanked Allah swt for allowing me to be there. The masjid does so much for the community and around the world and I just wanted to say how much it is appreciated and how much du'a comes out to you all for all the hard work you do in the background! I sincerely pray that everyone involved with the masjid is rewarded beyond your imagination both in this world and the next. Allahumma ameen. With loads of du'as, Dr Naila Syed

The women’s section is very unorganised and their staff members are very rude. As a collective, many of us sisters are all feeling the same way. They continuously kick us out when we are trying to pray and send us back and forth between the main hall and the school section or basement. A lot of sisters enjoy praying in the school section and the stewards treat it like they are guarding gold and continue to send us back and forth when a solution would be to just let us sit and pray in the class room where we end up going back to anyway because there is no space in the main hall. They need someone to organise this properly because many sisters are getting frustrated and these stewards are ruining the last 10 days which are the most important.

Assalamu Alikum, Me my children and friends and their children are very very disappointed with this mosque's organisation. We came all the way from London and booked 3 nights in a hotel in order to attend the winter conference relying on the information put on this mosque's website and the information that we were given by the masjid's interlocutor. Unfortunately, we feel let down and deceived by their organisation as the conference was cancelled and they haven't updated their website. Actually as of today (24/12/2021), the website still haven't updated the information related to the winter conference and this is irresponsible and shows negligence towards many families who were dedicated to this event.

The boys out side are so rude, they have absolutely no manners at all. They spat right in front of my father as he was walking. I didn’t seem to take much notice but my father being old and having the traditional values has been really upset for the past few days. Horrified at the attitude these boys display now a days. If you are standing outside the mosque and gathering in gangs and listening to loud music and smoking and swearing then at least have the decency to not affiliate your self with the mosque you are standing outside off. It reflects bad on the mosque and the elders within the mosque should I force good behaviour outside however they themselves are smoking.

  • Skr Reviews

A really beautiful mosque, converted from an old library the outside looks amazing. Inside, everything is clean, fresh and well managed. Covid rules are in place and fully enforced by staff. I also love that the staff and mosque leaders are very punctual, they stick the advertised timings which makes planning attendance very easy. The only issue I have is with parking, although a large car park is available within minutes, people insist on double parking right outside the entrances which makes social distancing outside the mosque really difficult. However, mosque leades constantly remind everyone to be courteous and sensible with leaving their cars etc.

This institute is the best of all in terms of accessibility whether that is for convenience of prayer or to gain knowledge they have the best facilities. The have all access to learn thorough practice of the Quran & Sunnah. With Imams and teachers full of knowledge and experience you have a variety of classes you can frequently attend and as well as many conferences they hold with highly regarded speakers from across the globe. It’s right at your door step that’s the beauty of it. So grateful to have this in Birmingham. Alhamdullilah MashaAllah TabarakAllah.

I always used to say good stuff about the masjid as I took my shahada there, but the masjid does nothing to support new Muslims, in fact they do opposite, when trying to get my shahada certificate it took me weeks to get a response but by then I already got it from different masjid, recently tried to contact them in regards to nikkah via email, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram and still got no reply, had to do nikkah in different masjid, there is no support and no response, this masjid is good at publicity but I wish they were there for new Muslims

There was an elderly man who worked at Morrisons he had Muslim friends he told them about that he only has few days to live because of Cancer at Thursday 27 July 2023 afternoon he told that he doesn't want his grave to put in the church instead he wanted to his grave at the Green lane Masjid then somebody teached him the shahada then he said his first shahada and turned into an Muslim before he died tomorrow on Friday 28 July 2023 His grave is currently located at the Green lane Masjid.

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ A place that I am grateful for immensely to Allah swt for allowing me by his permission to increase my imaan , knowledge , khushoo with the lectures given, being able to read Qur’an in womens prayer area , enrolling on the one of many courses ( Alimiyyah) , easy to donate through website for aid /sadaqah. A place that can facilitate ways to better your dunya and your akhirah. I and other sisters also really appreciate the prayer time screen lock wallpapers.

  • ZAKARIA YUSUF

I gave you 4 starts solely due to the delay in updating the prayer timetable in the mobile phone app. It often takes you to update it between 4-7 days and, unfortunately, does not seem improving despite myself calling the masjid twice over the past 4 years. This masjid is, otherwise, a great community centre with outstanding standard. And I am hoping this minor issue will get a way to improve in the future as many people rely on it on a daily basis. Thank you.

  • Iulia Arsan

I’m not a muslim but i’ve been given the opportunity to visit the Mosque and Community Centre through an open door event, I was amazed by the vast and complex support system this centre offers to its community, from praying sanctuary to after school, Koran studies classes, charities, shelter for refugees, sport clubs, scouts club and many other. It’s indeed the centre of the community and the work the team running the place are doing is just amazing.

Have been attending GLM for over 17 years Alhamdulillah.... Everything is organised and all imams are beautiful people who have the time and interest to answer any questions one may have regarding the faith... Lots of reverts and support available for them, the community and surrounding areas of charity... May Allah SWT bless all those who attend and support the masjid. Thank you to all the admin staff to make every day special at GLM

  • WeShould SaveOurselves

SubhanAllah. The atmosphere is friendly and if you ever have a question they are ready to answer. I’m just grateful this masjid follow the way of the salaf and are very open minded and welcome people from all backgrounds. Allah humma barik.

  • Naeem Ali

One of the pre-eminent mosques in Britain, run according to principles of Quran and authentic Sunnah, with a range of services that is almost mind-boggling. An example to others as to how a mosque should be run. Then there's the brilliance in the Qur'an recitation during prayers, particularly Taraweeh. Arguably some of the best qiraat in the country.

  • Alisha Tariq

الحمد لله, ما شاء الله A great Masjid that offers so much to the local community and beyond. The winter conference was amazing, from the volunteers to the speakers. The prayer and wudhu facilities are excellent, and so is the funeral service. May Allah continue to bless our community and all it's members, and reward those who strive for Allah, آمين

  • Ninja Perfection Says

This is probably the only Muslim mosque in that Area!! Beware dear Muslims and also non-Muslims visitors, don't visit Ahmadiyya temple (Darul Barakat) nearby. That Qadiani satanic temple looks like a Mosque and frauds people about Islam. One of my new revert neighbors got confused about Islam when he visited that temple …

The Green Lane Masjid is not just a place where prayer is observed but a community with rich history and activities. They also have madrasa and regular lecture series for all age groups. When I went there, they observed strict Covid restrictions but were still kind enough to allow me take some pictures.

  • NB

Always a lovely and warm experience coming to this masjid. Nice toilet and wudhu area, easy and accessible parking on site or over the road in the Morissons car park (shhh). Prayer area is tranquil, light, airy and open all day. The facilities for sisters are equally as good but do have to go upstairs.

  • Safiyyah

Multicultural Mosque, open to all, very humble and supportive members , and with the best and pure knowledge in Islam, following the Quran and the Sunnah. What they do to help the community and people in need around the world is amazing. May The Almighty bless them all and reward them immensely. Ameen

  • shahed ahmad

The go to masjid. Lots of people come from far areas. The masjid is a lovely place and this one is no different. Everything is on point. I hate some masjid who says their prayer times is one time but they end up praying 15 mins later. This one doesn't do that. It's on the exact specified time.

  • Zeenat Alhya

Management plays a crucial role in allowing people with poor manners to take lead in a workplace setting. Respectful behavior and good manners are the fundamental foundations of Islam and thus management should take good care in pointing leaders specifically in sister areas.

  • Tahmour Design

A Beautiful Masjid at the heart of Green Lane. The building is big, clean and very well maintained. The prayer halls are vast and spacious and the Masjid's Covid management is par excellence! May Allah continue to pure barakah into this amazing spiritual place

  • ML Animations

My sons attend this mosque year 8, the staff don't really teach much, it's way too pricey for the amount of learning they give for the classes, like can you make the price cheaper for the amount of learning? Fairly the mosque is good to pray in though.

  • Travel

Green lane is a well managed masjid it embraces diversity and is a focal point of the community. The ambience and vibe during Ramadan reminds me of Mecca/ Madinah. The management is welcoming to families and children, reflects true essence of a masjid.
