I was a member of the picture house for about 5 years when I lived in Greenwich and had nothing but positive experiences. Unfortunately, that changed today. As it's pushing 30 degrees again we decided to take my 2 and 4 year old children to see an afternoon movie and make the most of the air con. We booked online and then bought £25 worth of popcorn and drinks, were ushered into the cinema - at no point did anyone flag the fact that there the air conditioning wasn't working. I would have walked straight out but my tearful daughters were sweating but settled in with popcorn and drinks having been promised a film. After an hour of sitting in an airless box absolutely boiling, I went down to the box office to say how upset I was as it was definitely not the experience I had paid for and asked for a refund. I clearly explained that we would have left but my children wouldn't be moved as they are very young, still had loads of popcorn and it was a treat - even if an incredibly uncomfortable one. The lady I spoke to was totally understanding, agreed the cinema screen shouldn't have even been open and asked a colleague to refund me for the tickets. I was still pretty upset as I was absolutely boiling and had to sit through the end of the film but satisfied enough with the customer service - though still annoyed the man selling our snacks hasn't flagged the air con issue as he knew which film we were seeing. We would have cancelled then and there and gone to the odeon had we known! For the remainder of the film Several different members of staff came to check up on the practically empty cinema/us, which I found a bit odd. My partner and younger daughter had to leave midway due to the heat but my older daughter was invested in the film so I was stuck there. Once the film finished two young members of staff accosted me to rudely scold me for the fact the whole family hadn't left the film once I'd been refunded. I explained that I had clearly told the members of staff I couldn't leave, though very much wanting to, due to my children. And at no point had anyone refunding me told I'd need to immediately leave the cinema. Despite explaining this the staff kept aggressively talking over me, physically blocked my way and rudely pushed the point saying 'you know you are in the wrong!' To be honest I was absolutely gobsmacked by the experience. Fortunately a lady who has been in the cinema with us jumped to my defence telling the staff that actually no, they were in the wrong as they cinema screen shouldn't have even been open as it was so hot and that they were out of line. The entire experience was grim but the behaviour of the two young male members of staff was so unpleasant that i won't be returning in the future. *as a side note, the staff member who refunded me told me the air conditioning has been out of service for 8 weeks now- which I find shocking in itself for a cinema and especially this summer!

Went to a baby screening today. We pre-booked so we could have specific seats and make sure we were sat together as there were 4 of us. However, people were in our seats claiming they had been told to sit there because they had prams, and we didn’t want to cause a fuss so we asked the staff to confirm that other seats were available and were told it was sold out so we needed to stick to our seats. In the end we sat down anyway and it most certainly wasn’t full, we could have sat anywhere. Perhaps these screenings shouldn’t have pre-booked seats at all? Or at least the staff need better info to help problem solve more efficiently. It was unnecessarily awkward and stressful as they even got a manager involved! The lift wasn’t working but I think it would be better to simply not allow prams inside the screen anyway- most people left them downstairs without a fuss and there wouldn’t be room for everyone’s prams had the lift been in order. Other baby events don’t allow prams inside the event spaces so it wouldn’t be unusual. I was also concerned about the sound for a baby screening- it was certainly a bit quieter but it seemed like only really the bass frequencies had been removed- highs and mids were often quite jarring and caused commotion with the babies. I covered my baby’s ears with my hands as I wasn’t comfortable it was 100% safe. If you are planning to go to a baby screening, I would recommend bringing baby ear defenders and don’t forget a blanket- it was very cold! I otherwise like the cinema and ticket prices are quite reasonable.

** Update: Important to mention that after posting my review Picturehouse reached out to me with an apology and a complimentary ticket ** Screen 4 Experience: Poor. The right channel speaker is not playng at the correct level, meaning all the sound and music is coming out of the centre and left channels. It's not only Picturehouse. I was at the prestigious Cineworld in Wood Green just the other day to catch 'Anatomy of a Fall'. Amazing film. But a screening let down by a persistent ground hum audible throughout the entire performance ( - anyone remember how we used to call these things 'performances'?). Cinema spaces neglected, in disrepair and not properly calibrated are yet another indication of this countries tanking cinema culture....sigh....Maybe, as Paul Schrader said in 2018, it's because we, the audience, "don't take movies seriously" thesedays that we inevitably don't take the cinema experience seriously either and so overlook / can't spot these technical failures. Sadly it's a race to the bottom in an age when I can watch Mulholland Drive on my mobile phone....

Nice seats, (comfy and do the extra-recline thing too for those of you that do feel the need, I don't myself but I understand it's a popular thing with some) though hopefully you wont get a seat kicking idiot like I managed to. Overall a friendly cinema, massively long slow queues at peak times so buy your ticket first if possible to avoid and bare in mind the cost...this is not a cheap cinema! Food and drink options are pretty basic but there are a few smaller shops not too far away and they have a coffee/tea serving bar on the top floor and two semi-attached restaurants too. Very close to bus stops, about 5 mins walk from the mainline and DLR, miles from North Greenwich (which you will only know if you are a local; never was actually in Greenwich anyway!)

Went yesterday with my partner and had a great time as always. So the film was running a few minutes late due to a screen room change, and the air con wasn't working.... Not a big deal as the had a fan going. The staff were lovely and I personally didn't feel that the room was uncomfortably hot. I mean, it's not the staffs fault the Aircon wasn't working. I love going here as it's a lot more intimate and comfortable than big cinemas, and the price of drinks/popcorn/sweets is really reasonable compared to a lot of cinemas. The café/bar areas are lovely and it's just generally a nice time had. Highly recommend.

Little gem in the neighbourhood! I am not native English speaker and I need subtitles for some movies. This cinema provides a good range of movies that with English subtitles. The cafe and bar are very cozy. If you are not coming for the movies, they are some very nice places to hang out. The staff is friendly, helping customers to check in and get the food and beverage. The movie room is not too big but clean and the seats are comfortable. The seat can be flattened down a bit. Although the tickets are not the cheapest, I will come back out of convenience.

  • Yoann de la Fuente

I don’t really go the movies there very often, but I’ve been passing by the lovely bar area on the 1st floor and always wondered if it was part of the cinema... I finally decided to give it a go for a coffee break last weekend, and it’s such a little hidden jewel in town! Decently priced drinks, quiet family-friendly atmosphere, super comfy seats, and the views over Greenwich town centre are phenomenal. Can’t believe I missed this spot in my last 6 years living around Greenwich! Definitely worth a visit, even if you’re not planning to go to the movies.

  • Thiers

Polite Staff and never had a queue, so it’s a good cinema if you are like me and don’t appreciate packed places or crowded areas. Really quite, they have acceptable standards (hygiene matters) and it,s missing one star to be five stars because the popcorn never came hot. I went me many times and all the times they serve cold popcorn. Please I think you should attempt for this important detail! And as well improve your selection of wines. They just have 3 types of wine. Acoustic and seats ok, not amazing but the seats could be better for the price.

  • Caron Scott Nadal

This place is a little gem. Small, intimate screens, a gorgeous bar with sofas upstairs, and the prices are so reasonable you are almost paying 2 for 1 on what you would at bigger chains. Downside? Accessibility inside is really misleading, for example the seating plan of screen 4 shows aisles on both sides, but the reality is the seats are against the wall on the left-hand side- there's only an aisle on the right. Second gripe is that they don't take cards, which is a bit discriminatory I feel. Other than that, I love it.

  • Aaron H

A lovely local cinema that offers great discounted Monday tickets to all showings (£8.90 pp, including booking fee). Lovely staff and fairly decent prices for food and bevs too. Loses a few stars over the lack of lift access, which has noticeably been out of action for a long time and has affected attending with a family member, and the screens are unbearably hot when the weather is hot outside. The lack of decent (or at all?) air-con made this week’s visit unbearable - so come prepared with plenty of water!

  • Maria G

Lovely dog friendly screening! Comfortable. Annoyingly some people don’t have a concept of personal space and would be naive enough to sit two unrelated dogs together despite there being other empty seats! I hope the following can be improved: Please clarify upon booking that it is free seating/ reserved seats will not be honoured (as explained by the manager on the day) as this meant I had to explain this to an annoying guest making a fuss about seats. Overall, a good and fun experience. Would return

The Greenwich Picturehouse is local to the centre of Greenwich and has several screens on which it shows a variety of films. They're is a nice bar on the first floor where you can snack and drink before the film starts or even take a drink into the cinema screen with you in a plastic cup. The service in the bar can be slow however as there are not many bar staff and if someone in front of you orders a coffee, you'll have to wait a while, while the coffee machine is twiddled and pushed and pulled etc.

  • Sally Nicholson

It's my local cinema, I only go there. The selection of films has improved since the pandemic, and Cineworld, who owns it, has tried hard to innovate to attract film- goers. The screens are a good size, as are the five theatres. They have very good membership offers and Mondays are cheap for everyone. There's quite a nice bar upstairs, if the aircon's not too fierce, that offers discounts for members and a pleasant, dog-friendly café downstairs. Staff are very pleasant and the place has a good vibe.

  • Alice W

We visited especially for the Heathers showing and cast Q&A but will likely be back. The seats were very comfortable and the back of the chair could be pushed back for a more comfortable angle. All the staff were amazing, super helpful and lovely and the Q&A event was really fun, the host definitely kept everyone upbeat and was even able to share some great personal annecdotes My only complaint is that the sweet popcorn could have been nicer! It was a bit dry and not very sweet, not worth the price

  • Banner Hampton

The Greenwich Picture house is a welcome alternative to the West End cinemas. There are several screens showing new releases as well as some less mainstream films and relays of operas from the Metropolitan in New York. The seats are comfortable and everywhere is usually very clean. In addition to the cinema's own upstairs bar, there are two restaurants/cafes in the same building and many other cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. There is a large, convenient public car park behind the cinema

  • John Foster

Excellent cinema. Nice separate cafe and bar areas to grab a drink while waiting for you film to start or for discussing it afterwards. Tickets are a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it. Soft comfortable chairs in the screens. Screen sizes are smaller than larger cinema chains but makes for a more intimate viewing. 4 screens in total so usually has 2 blockbusters showing with multiple showings each day and several smaller films spread over the other 2 screens.

  • Steve

I have been to Greenwich Picturehouse on multiple occasions and must express my concern about the sound levels during my visits. The auditory experience provided was consistently and excessively loud, leaving me with a sense of discomfort. To ensure safety, I suggest that Picturehouse conduct a sound pressure level test. Taking this step will not only guarantee an enjoyable cinematic experience but also safeguard the auditory health of their valued customers.

  • Jan Forrest

Greenwich Picturehouse is an absolute treasure, as it provides a great opportunity for every lover of the cinema to enjoy their choice of films in comfort. The staff are always helpful & friendly which is an important benefit for any elderly, disabled or vulnerable customers. Plus they also provide special viewings where mothers with young children can attend, a fantastic opportunity for them to socialise. It definitely deserves a five star rating.

  • Nika Garrett

Big screen and a comfortable seat made it a nice experience. It's clean and the staff were friendly. The cafe/bar on the top floor has a nice view towards St Alfege Church. It's conveniently located near Greenwich DLR Station as well as bus stop. A short walk from Greenwich Market and many attractions in Maritime Greenwich Heritage Site. If you choose a show during the day and not a weekend it would probably be quiet so you don't need to prebook.

  • Ethan Hammock

Great place to watch films, as they also show some independent films. The cinemas aren't always full, unless the film has just come out, which means you can almost always get a good seat in the middle for the most atmosphere. The staff that work there are really nice and helpful when ordering tickets and confectionary and is one of the reasons I try to go at least twice a month depending on the films that are out at that time.

  • Steven Hunter

Staff can be a bit thin on the ground and perhaps lacklustre. Last time was to see Die Hard. Didn't really feel like the cinematic experience tbh. The sound only came from the front so it just felt we were watching on a very big tv screen with no surround sound at all... Didn't mean to sound negative. All in all I like coming here as its always welcoming. Love the cozy bar, great coffee and choice of drinks and food.

  • Ellie Brooks

A cool vintage-style cinema with a great choice of national and international films in varied size theatres with small to mega screens. very friendly and cool staff. I heard that there are some discounts for Silver Screen members. There is a Restaurant and cafe, Popcorn and ice-cream available. Recommended for a relaxed day out with a move not just to run and watch a movie.., go here with some time in your bag.

  • Jeff Oliver

Love this place. The screens aren’t huge but that’s more than make compensated for by the comfort and friendliness. We were in screen 5 downstairs which has 2 seat sofas at the back, such a great way to watch a movie. The other great thing is that you can order a drink at the bar and take it into the screen with you. Imagine trying to do that at a Vue . Makes me want to go to the cinema more often.

  • Felix Dilke

Great venue - conveniently near train/tube/park, comfortable bar and café, good screens and seats. Also I’d applaud their choice of movies. The bar has a nice view with an all-glass frontage, and is tastefully lit with a good range of drinks. Friendly and helpful service. Similarly for the café downstairs which also serves breakfast. Tends to be busy at weekends. Altogether a firm favourite.

  • Robbie Palmer

We attended a puppy screening of Guardians of The Galaxy 3 and we were blown away. Everyone was extremely friendly to us, unlike any cinema we’ve ever attended. Seats were very comfortable and the venue was super clean. Staff were superb and every interaction with guests was loving and wholesome. Would highly recommend Greenwich Picturehouse if you want a warm, welcoming Cinema!

  • Franck V.

Nice cinema but slightly dated. Staff are nice and friendly. Seats are comfortable and reclining which is great. Screen 5 is slightly odd: the screen is tiny and it's in a big open room downstairs and a curtain is drawn to separate the room once the film starts. I would not go again to a film schwon on that screen. Other screens are what you'd expect from a cinema experience.

  • Sarah Kuklewicz

Friendly, helpful staff. Surprisingly good food and drink. Excellent membership scheme. If you go on a Monday, it's significantly cheaper - £5 for members or £7 for non members (around half the price of a standard cinema trip). Look out for their bin end wines - they'll even let you take a bottle into the screening (and yet I've never had an issue with any rowdiness).

  • Christian Still

Great cinema, staff are friendly, selection of films is good, seats are of high quality and better than most cinemas (they even recline) and have plenty of leg room. Always clean and tidy. Members also get free films when they join and other discounts, so well worth being a member. Only downside is the price, but in comparison to other cinemas it is worth it!

  • Ak london

First time at a picture house..to watch the euro semi EngVDen.. was pleasantly surprised. Nice clean fresh looking complex. Big comfortable reclining seats.. loved it. Also have to mention staff member (matt) Very impressed with his level of customer service... was very helpful accommodating me with my religious obligations. Many thanks, hope to return soon.

  • Mark Roper

Absolutely fabulous. Comfy seats, you can have a beer whilst watching a film, screen's a little small but not a problem. most of all though the staff were second to none, friendly, helpful and honest; my son lost his headphones here and they went out of their way to look for them. (that aside they were genuinely interested in our viewing experience) ♥️❤️

  • Louis Cecile

A very comfortable cinema with excellent seating. The sense of relaxing and watching is rarely done so well. The entrance and shop are quite small. However, there is a nice bar attached to the cinema. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. These all lead to a great cinema viewing experience, where you may be fooled to think you are actually at home.

  • Laura Cleary

The last 4 films we have seen in various screens have had very low sound levels when people are talking. Please can this be sorted out! It's so low the audio is being drowned out by audience coughing / popcorn eating etc. I've mentioned it in the cinema before and been told that they are "waiting on a part" so not sure what that's about

  • Barb Mellman

They sell the seat with the really annoying security light stationed right above it, instead of the movie I felt like everyone was watching me, wondering When's this stupid lights going to turn off. I asked the staff why they would sell this seat .... I think they're still to this day trying to string an sensible answer together. …

  • Daniel Caspy

What a fantastic theater. I didn't know what type of experience I would has before I went in, my mind was blown to see how good the seats were. Screen was a tad small and the volume of the movie while low (a positive) was slightly too low. I'm sure after multiple times I would get used to it but it wasn't too bad I guess. Great time.

  • Alex Lane

Fantastic for lazy Mondays as they run great discounts- can be a little pricey at other times. Seats are super comfy (and recline) so even if you do splurge a little more on a different day of the week you will get what you pay for. Great selection of new films always on, and several screens to choose from. Support you local cinema!

  • E. J. Smallridge

Is currently my favourite indie cinema. Loving the vintage Sundays, being able to rewatch classic movies and animes. On one occasion, they even did a sale of posters and merchandises from current movies, which the money earned would go to a selected charity. It would be nice for Picturehouse to do charity sales like that more often.

  • Silvija I.

Love this cinema - friendly staff, comfortable seats and if you have a baby, they do once per week a session specially for you and your little one! Leave the pram in the hall and enjoy the movie! They do special prices for members too! Ladies loo is on the first floor, clean and tidy. Variety of drinks and snacks available as well!

  • ANA CAROLINA PIUSSI MACHADO

Our local cinema! It is an old style theatre transformed in cinema! They have some blockbusters but also a big selection of alternative movies from different countries! They have a caffee downstairs and a bar at the 3rd floor with slight a view. Their sweet popcorn it is great! And one cinema that popcorn it is always like new

  • D D

I took the minion to see a 30 min movie @1030 for only £3, stick man! Place packed with kids, its a great way to introduce them into the delights of the big screen without killing them. Seats are comfortable and well spaced, popcorn was fresh, good service...we'll be back, need to work my little one up to a star wars marathon!

  • Clementine Voss

Great cinema, best in the Greenwich area. The building is very beautifully designed; love the cafe-bar on the top floor with its glass curtain wall and view over the town. Good film programme, would like to see more European arthouse titles in there. The reduced price screenings on Mondays are well worth taking advantage of.

  • erica viner

I love Greenwich Picture house, the seats are comfortable and recline, the screens are small so it feels more intimate. You get a nicer clientele than at the Odeon, no kids throwing popcorn or people talking through the films, mainly an older crowd. Not cheap, tickets are £14 but worth the extra money for a great experience

  • sasa cox

Very cosy and peaceful the seats are really comfortable you can push them back and just chill with your popcorn and enjoy your movie and you can seat down and have a glass of wine before going in and I think you can even take your drink in I think you should ask when you order your drink just to make sure …

  • Richard Allen

I love this cinema. They have a great selection of films on at convenient times and at a reasonable price, much better than going to one of the big chains. The cinema seats are really comfy; reclining and loads of leg! The staff are friendly and they have a good selection of events on too, especially if you're a member.

  • Sharon Treharne

This is my my favourite cinema because it's local and it's great value for money (especially as it's reduced ticket prices on Mondays); smaller rooms and comfy seats that all recline are part of the standard seating, so unlike other cinemas you don't have to pay extra for these perks. Staff are friendly and helpful.

  • David Newman

Really friendly staff and a lovely bar upstairs. It's so good to see it open again! I love the way Picturehouse mixes blockbusters with smaller art house and independent films. The joy of SPIDERMAN playing to a packed house equalled by the sense of an audience spellbound and rapt with the documentary animation FLEE!

  • James Dawson

First time back to the pictures in 16months! What an experience. Went on the Monday. Tickets under £8. Staff are a delight and genuinely had really good conversations. Thank you for a wonderful safe environment. Will be coming back!! This doesn’t change the star rating but wish they had tango/Fanta on soft drinks.

  • Anamaria L

Great cinema! The seats are very comfortable, the sound is great, the screens are perfect. Staff could be a bit more engaging (and friendlier) on a not at all busy Sunday afternoon. If you have a contract with Threez you can get tickets for just £3 on weekends which makes it so worthwhile! A place to come back to.

  • Blu Rose

It's decent and the people are friendly, so please go and invest into your local picturehouse. I will say however that personally the chairs are too small for my liking and it would be very awkward to actually sit directly next to someone else (that I'm not involved with). I've been lucky that I've not yet had to.

  • Kayy

A rather mature venue and by that I mean classy. Staff were awesome, food was nice. The actual screen room ( I was in screen one) was cosy. Good space between seats and decent legroom. It seemed that all the seats could lean back comfortably (couldn't tell for sure for the front seating). Loved my visit.

  • Sherife

I used to go here frequently. I love their student membership. Not sure if it changed now but upon purchasing students used to get free 2 tickets, free popcorn and beverage (alcoholic/nonalcoholic). Their seats were very comfortable especially more in comparison to those in other cinemas at Greenwich.

  • Emily Marshall

You probably never expect a Cinema in Greenwich, but here we are with a Comfy, cosy, Cinema. Great atmosphere and quality of sound, nice seats. If you like a great time out to a cinema with your family or as a small team this place will teat you. The staff is very friendly and always at your service.

  • James Hattaway

Good place to go if you're looking for good movies. The team is nice, prices are OK. Much better than big multiplex designed for selling food... The cafe area is neat. Big bravo. Use to go to picture house Edinburgh. Love the spirit of these cinemas. Need places like this to feed my mind. Thank you.

  • Tyler

Nice little cinema. There is one odd screen downstairs but the others are what you'd expect from a small cinema. The cafe/bar has a beautiful view of Greenwich/St Alfege's church due to the floor to ceiling windows and is a great place to meet friends or a while away an afternoon with a good book.

  • Mitchell Smith

Lovely cinema, decent soundproofing so that you can’t hear other screens during your movie (something that really annoys me!) and the seats recline. They donate to charity and have a space for guests to leave donations too. Cafe downstairs does food, and the bar upstairs is good whilst you wait.

  • Milena Simovic

One one my ultimate favourite London cinemas. I love coming here. The rooms are not huge and it never gets offensively loud like it can in other cinemas. Really good quality speakers and wonderfully comfortable RECLINING seats! Decent ticket prices and good popcorn, what more does one need!

  • Alex Scarborough

It has the feel of an independent, local cinema, and feels far more refreshing than the normal cinema chains. The only potential downside is that because the gradient between seats is shallow, on busy days it might be difficult to see. However the atmosphere of the place can't be faulted

  • Otalia Onta

Our favorite cinema! They show great independent films (European and international gems!). Not to mention that they have the most comfortable seats; and the staff is very polite. We have a membership and we will continue being their "clients" as we appreciate good independent filmmakers.

  • R7M

Be aware of the the 48 cancellation policy. You won't get your money back. I give 4 stars after they did sent new tickets. Took a while. The theatre has nice and comfy chairs and plenty of space. Can stay front rows as the screens are not huge. More of a cozy theatre to go see a movie.

  • Emma Wurfel

Lovely lovely cinema. The inside is just gorgeous, and the cinemas feel really personal and well put together, you can definitely tell it’s an independent cinema. The only thing I would LOVE, is if they dropped their ticket and snack prices, i would go there far more if they did that!

  • Jenny McArdle

Lovely cinema, interesting selection of films, very cute little bar that I'd visit even if not seeing a film. They get the sound right too - not too loud like so many others. Only downside today was too much cold air blowing in screen 4 - I ended up wearing my coat for the whole film.

  • Aidan GT6 (aydın)

Very traditional cinema with reclining soft seats, it has a very homely feel. Good screens, good food and very friendly staff all in all a very nice environment to be in. Makes going out to the pictures feel special again. Ps the prices are cheaper than other cinemas in the area.

  • pam

Great cinema - really comfy and very nice place to spend some time out with others or loved ones! Cinema 5 downstairs is really cosy! Come on Greenwich locals -we really need to keep supporting our cinemas- like Picturehouse- so they can survive for the future. Money well spent!

  • Larry Fynn

Big fan of the Picturehouse chain and the Greenwich site is no exception. Great staff who genuinely like and respect good cinema. Confectionery stand is a tad pricey but more reasonable with a membership card. Pleasant, comfortable film infused decor which gets you in the mood.

  • Sarah Claxton

This venue is really lovely. The staff are amazing too. My husband is disabled (in a wheelchair), and this is one of the venues around London that we like to visit as it's fully accessible for him. We'll often just pop up to the upstairs bar for a cuppa if we are in the area.

  • John Crampsie

Great cinema, great choice of films, nice little cafe. Would give 5 stars but for the poor wages. Come on Picturehouse, you make enough money to pay the (so called) London Living Wage. Your people are lovely and knowledgeable and are your best asset. Show them. Picture that.

  • Greg Cole

What a delightful experience. I'm not a big cinema goer, but for me this is a great place to catch a new release movie and a great alternative to streaming at home. I will definitely be seeing a lot more movies here. Popcorn rather nice and not as expensive as I remember

  • Jonathan Bridge

Comfortable cinema, nice staff. Bar is pleasant to sit in but drinks are limited. Two very ordinary gins is a poor choice these days. Usually an intelligent choice of films, although they were showing King Arthur while we were there, which I assume no-one was watching.

  • Jude Cooke

Seats are comfy, the screens aren't massive but are fine for the room size. Much nicer than the big commercial cinemas, no sticky floor or cramped seats. £7.50 tickets on Monday are a great deal. Nice little bar on site and next to a good restaurant and gin bar.

  • Noel Potter

The best cinema I have been to. Comfy reclining seats, lots of legroom. A lovely bar with floor to ceiling windows reasonably priced café food and alcoholic drinks; great cakes and coffee. Very cosy. Never had a problem with the staff, they are absolutely fine.

  • Christopher Walker

Lovely, cosy cinema showing a great mix of art house and mainstream films. Comfy seats, friendly staff, and a great bar - much nicer setting than a regular movie house. Definitely worth the slightly more expensive tickets for a much better experience. Love it.

  • Rebecca Allen

I love the Greenwich picturehouse. The seats are comfy, the staff are nice, they show a good range of films and it has a lovely old-time cinema feel. Can be pricey but I'd rather give my money to a nice independent cinema than a big corporate place.

  • Caroline Findlay

Love this cinema, which has been one of my favourites for a few years now. Super clean, extremely comfortable, lovely staff, and a fab variety of films. I usually visit early on a weekday, as it’s generally quieter - weekends are normally packed!

  • Steven

Another example of the great Picture House chain. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The bar sells a mix of good quality and non expensive food and drink. Don't forget to try the upstairs bar, far less busy and excellent views over

  • Hester Campbell

The cafe food is lovely, albeit expensive, but there is a 10% discount if you join picturehouse as a member. The cinema staff are friendly and passionate about film. The film offering is excellent. Particularly enjoyed Sunday screening of

  • Lynn Wilson

Always love Greenwich Picturehouse! I'm a huge fan of foreign films and saw a Norwegian film called "The Worst Person in the World" ! My experience made even better by having a Silver Screen pass (no cost) for 60+ - great savings! …

  • Catherine Mansuy

Fantastic cinema with a great bar and some seating spaces upstairs to meet before the viewings and to chat afterwards with a glass… there is some nibbles etc downstairs too. Cheap place if you are a member too! And, Mondays are cheap !

  • Horia Dragoi

The best seats of any cinema I have been to. While the screens are not the biggest, the quality and sound are great. Membership here is great if you are a student with £5 tickets on Mondays and 2 free tickets anytime when you sign up.

  • Douglas Wheeler

Comfy reclining seats throughout. Great sound systems. A well stocked bar. Worth paying an extra couple of quid for. Free parking in car park behind cinema after 6:30pm. Sainsburys local across the road for budget drinks and snacks.

I regularly go to the cinema and always have a good experience. The seats are extremely comfortable and the temperature is always just right. The staff are very customer focused and seem to care. It's just a very nice place to go.

We took a group of pupils to see a film on Wednesday 5th October...we were all impressed! Lovely theatre and friendly helpful staff, thankfully we had brought our own snacks for the children as £6.50 for popcorn was a bit steep!

First visit to a cinema since restrictions were lifted. Greenwich Picturehouse was not busy for a 12:30 weekday showing and all procedures made me feel comfortable and safe. It's great to be back seeing films on the big screen.

  • André Lopes

Very cozy and familiar place. All staff are very friendly and the decoration is nice. Comparing with other cinemas, this is a more quiet, stress free cinema with 5 rooms, with very confortable chairs which you can lay back.

  • Emma Dalby Bowler

Great cinema screens, with incredibly comfy seats. One screen even has a bar in it - not open during the film though, phew. The bar is quite nice - a rather restrained atmosphere, but lovely for a preparatory glass of wine.

  • Dave Samways

Used to go there on a regular basis until COVID & other personal matters stopped me from going. Been there recently staff friendly enough easy to get to pricing par for the course. My one gripe women chatting during film.

  • Matthew Tunley

Went to watch The Lion King at Picturehouse, lovely independent cinema with friendly staff and retro style red velvet seating (screen 1). They even recline more than an aeroplane seat. Nice sweet flavoured popcorn too.

  • Fabrice Reynolds

Good experience and pleasantly surprised that Monday is half price. Rooms are small but that's a good thing. Comfy reclining seats and good sound. There is a cafe and they serve popcorn. I'll definitely be going back

Excellent sits, great membership deals. Services is very good at the coffee bar. Latte and Capuccino are temperature, popcorns not so salty as before and I’m back enjoying them! Thanks for listening to customers!

  • David M

Great value especially if you’re a member. Good range of films which are changed regularly. Nice bars serving drinks and food at reasonable prices. No noise or interruptions from the audience during performances.

  • Chris Loscher

Lovely staff. Tiny screens. I think they’re still showing 35mm but not sure it matters. Not much point when the quality of home cinema is what it is. Go find a big screen where you can see the grain of the film!!

  • Lawrence Rayner

Quick drink in the bar before a film. Drinks were well priced and the bar snacks were good. The cinema space itself was a bit ok. Comfortable seats although the screen was a bit low. I'd definitely visit again.

  • Lindsey Howick

A very nice cinema! Seats are very comfortable and the staff have been very friendly every time I've been. Not cheap, but no cinemas are, and at least at this one you get a great experience for your money

  • Valash Sirikate

Love this cinema. You might be paying a bit extra compare to other cinema chains but you do get the quality. Customers here are very nice and well behaved. No annoying behaviours during the movie times.

  • Adam Shand

Lovely cinema, one of the smaller ones but that made it special. Different atmosphere compared to the big chain cinemas and still mainstream films. Really enjoyed watching operation mincemeat here

  • Chris White

My favourite cinema now. The bar is actually somewhere you could visit without going to see a film and it wouldn't disappoint. I have just become a member which seems like a really good deal.

  • Romina Ahmad

Lovely cinema. Comfy seats also reasonable prices overall. Went for a family outing. There is also a nice deli style cafe there. Good range of films easy to book online. Laid back atmosphere.

  • Ömer Yaveroğlu

Really enjoyed the experience. Clean theatres, nice temperature and volume. No lengthy ads before the beginning of the show. The staff were friendly as well. I will definitely visit again...

  • Hissing Sid

Very good cinema. Very comfortable seats. Good sound. Clean and friendly. I have given it only 4 stars because, like everywhere on a Sunday in Greenwich, there is virtually nowhere to park.

  • paul spybey

First time at the picture house, lay out is good, staff were friendly and seats very comfortable. Only problem for us was the sound was very loud, my 3yr granddaughter lasted 10 minutes!

  • Paul Creech

Probably the best little picture house I've been to. Staff are friendly and do a great job. The screens are big enough for a small venue and the seats are comfy. And they are reclining!

  • Justyna K

This is the nicest and the most friendly place in Greenwich. The employees are very helpful and the building itself has the old cinema vibes. Oh and the recliner armchairs!!! Love it.
